    The vitamin D.
    I realize that you work so much.
    20 minutes of being outside in any kind of weather provides 20,000 units of Vitamin D. You would have to take 20 pills which might or might not get absorbed by the body like direct to skin nature.
    When you take your food break at work could you possibly go outside to eat? 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there?

    Day 43-02/12 - 144.4 - I made sure that the Superbowl was on in both of my pods at my second job yesterday (LTC). What a game! I was finished my shift, but KC tied it up so I stayed until OT and then whipped home to watch that. Starting the week at a higher weight than what I started last week, but still hopeful and trying. Long way to go yet to get back to my 2022 weight.

    Day 44-02/13 - 144.2

    Day 45-02/14 - 144.6 - Up from yesterday, but weighed earlier than usual. Everything was on point.

    Day 46-02/15 - 144.6 - Really fun night working at the restaurant on a split shift. I skated during my afternoon break for a bit. I honestly do not have a sweet tooth, but ate many Valentine's chocolates that we were giving out. I am off at 2pm today, and my plan is to go x-country skiing for a bit with a young guy from Nigeria who wants to try it. New friend that I work with at my second job. He and his wife have a very cute 2 year old that I have met. He wants to embrace what we do for activities here in Canada.

    Day 47-02/16 - 144.0 - Super busy at work yesterday and went straight to x-country skiing, so didn't get a chance to eat at all until the evening. This morning I put together linguine and meatballs for the next 2 days, and enough salad for tonight. I can throw another salad together for tomorrow night. Day 1 of 5 of 2 jobs per day, then just one job next Wednesday and Thursday so that I can go skating on Wednesday : - )

    Day 48-02/17 - 144.6 - No choice but to eat dinner late. Feeling like I am on a treadmill. 2 1/2 months more and I will be stopping all of this working myself to exhaustion.

    Day 49-02/18 - 144.6 - Feeling stuck. Lots of activity this week, good calorie counts. I will possibly get 2 days off completely next weekend, trying to give away shifts...

    Thoughts:

    While other challenges may show bigger losses (or gains), it really depends on what date you are looking at with me because I do go up & down quite a lot, especially with my frequent required day trips. However, from Jan 1st through Dec 31st, I lost 16.0 pounds in the full year of 2023. That is what I have lost and KEPT OFF. While I am very proud of that, I know that the road ahead is long and will be a difficult one since I still have so far to go and so many health related obstacles in my way. Each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I can make, no matter how big or small. I am also grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.

    Day 48-02/17-179.6-(Trend weight 180.6) Yesterday I planned a day with moderate calories and carbs. I did really well until the Sugarfest All-Out Binge last night. I didn’t even want to post today but accountability is the whole point, right? So today I will be doing one of the lowest calorie & carb days to reverse things. It’s Very Obvious….Completely clear….I have no more control over sugar than I did when I began this journey in 2018. I long for the day when I can have a “Sliver” of cake or “Just One” piece of chocolate from a box of chocolates. Will that day ever come? I just don’t see it happening. I need to be extra good today and hope that the Scale Gods smile down on me in the morning if I want to show a loss for Week 7. Stand back, I’m going for it!

    Day 49-02/18-179.2-(Trend weight 180.5) Pile it on, whittle it off. Gosh, I thought the scale would go down a bit more considering how hungry I was yesterday and how well I coped/starved. I came within an inch of another binge, this time it was hungry and cravings all rolled up into one. Then I looked at my watch and was shocked to see it was already after 2:00 a.m. So I said to myself, “Donna, you won’t even be awake long enough to gloat in it or bask in its sunshine”, so I didn’t do it. I must admit, had it been 9:00 pm I think I would have caved. There is more than one kind of strength training. The one with my handweights is much easier than this! I’m already starting my day off still hungry. In fact, when I went to copy today’s post to add to my saved format, I thought my computer said Pasta. It said Paste.

    I can go outside when I take my lunch at work, but it’s usually like 2 or 3 AM so there’s no sun 😂
    But I should definitely start doing it in the morning after work though. I usually go straight home to shower and sleep, but after work is really probably the ideal time. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Cheat day today. I ate way too much salt at a brunch after work with friends, but I think it will be okay. I was pretty sick last week and at the beginning of this one, so my body probably needs the extra salt anyway.
    It looks like we’re at the halfway point, which is cool. I’ve never lasted this long in a challenge before so I’m excited to see how the second half goes. ☺️

    Thoughts:

    While other challenges may show bigger losses (or gains), it really depends on what date you are looking at with me because I do go up & down quite a lot, especially with my frequent required day trips. However, from Jan 1st through Dec 31st, I lost 16.0 pounds in the full year of 2023. That is what I have lost and KEPT OFF. While I am very proud of that, I know that the road ahead is long and will be a difficult one since I still have so far to go and so many health related obstacles in my way. Each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I can make, no matter how big or small. I am also grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.

I came within an inch of another binge, this time it was hungry and cravings all rolled up into one. Then I looked at my watch and was shocked to see it was already after 2:00 a.m. So I said to myself, “Donna, you won’t even be awake long enough to gloat in it or bask in its sunshine”, so I didn’t do it. I must admit, had it been 9:00 pm I think I would have caved. There is more than one kind of strength training. The one with my handweights is much easier than this! I’m already starting my day off still hungry. In fact, when I went to copy today’s post to add to my saved format, I thought my computer said Pasta. It said Paste.

All signs of me getting healthier after some of the weight loss I’ve been experiencing over the past year. Now…..if only I could get my diabetes medicine lowered. …..

    Well it seems like I have officially now recovered from my vacation weight loss set back. Now to move onward. I suppose I can be happy that I am 9 pounds down at the halfway mark and not cry about how far I could have been!     Random stuff about me:
    I am 59 years old this month (ouch). I currently live in Texas with my hubby and crew of kitty babies. I am a neonatal nurse practitioner and work 24hour shifts in a busy NICU. If it looks like I disappear on random days…that’s why! About 10 years ago I lost 135 pounds. Never made it to goal but just sort of leveled off at ~200 pounds. Over time I gained back nearly 50. Working on getting back at least to my low weight of 200. I would like to eventually make it to 150 where I think I would be comfortable.
