Sue - I hope you're feeling better after your fall - and I get it about not being where anyone could see you! Did a trip-n-fall this afternoon. First thing I did was look to see if Corey or the neighbors were out and about or heard me squeak and cuss.

Went out to get started getting brush piles set up for later burning (we're under a ban for a bit longer) and tripped while walking with the first couple of branches I snagged. I learned when I was super heavy how to fall, thank goodness--drop everything you're carrying and fold your hands in and roll, if you can. Catching yourself with hands is instinctual, and it's the one that gets people broken wrists and fingers a lot. I was able to save my hands, but fell onto one of the pine branches I was dragging, and got a little dinged: Not nearly as bad as it looks, nothing deep - just a reminder that I am NOT ten feet tall and bulletproof, I'm five foot two and pretty clumsy. 😀Didn't even sting much until I started sweating. It's gonna sting in the shower, though, and that's next... yeep! Ah well, I'll just tell people that Corey's beating on me again. 👀 NOT the medical people, they have no sense of humor about that stuff. 😈

And... that's it for me. Steak and shrimp for dinner - steak for Corey, shrimp for me. He'll have a baked potato, I'll just happily eat shrimp.

Our repair guy also did not recommend LG appliances at all for the same reason, parts hard to come by also customer service leaves a lot to be desired

Tina – Bryan didn’t even tell us WHERE in france to go, so that’s how I know that he really doesn’t want us.

Barbara – the only exposure to sofrito was at Chipotle. Can you buy it? We won’t be leaving until the end of March, but to me it’s still sad.

Beth – I don’t think Bryan was reaching out, he didn’t even tell us WHERE. Geraldine (the mother) seems to be more trying to get him to reach out to us, but there’s so much she can do. Well, I’ve pretty much come to accept the fact that I have one grandchild that I’ll probably never see (heck, even talk to) and another one that I’ll only see for a few days every year when we go up there.

We used to have only gas stoves. Then we bought our first house with an electric stove. It took some getting used to. Now I’d never go back to gas. Guess it’s what you’re used to

Went to lunch with my girlfriend from college. Had the broiled salmon and the sides of vegetables (no butter) and rice. While the rice wasn’t the greatest choice, it was certainly better than the fries or coleslaw. But we did have a slice of this mud cake which I thought was more chocolate ice cream. Only water to drink.

When we got to the restaurant, I saw this thing on the ground that looked like a credit card. You know how you get those “credit cards” – they’re cardboard? Well, I thought that’s what it was so I picked it up planning to throw it out. Turns out it was an American Express card that wasn’t expired. So we called AE and they cancelled the card, saying they’d contact the owner and will probably send him a new card. AE is very good that way. They told vince to destroy the card. Seems they’re hard to destroy since they have metal in them. But he did.

Mattress will be delivered tomorrow between 11 and 12 then between 3 and 4 the SPCA will be here to pick up the items. Maybe they’ll (for a bit) move the sofa and loveseat from across the hall. Guess we’ll see/

Worked some more on Jess’ tree skirt. I’m liking the way it’s turning out/

Heather - We moved for work. NB is a very poor province.

I actually just came across this YouTube video that describes the problems there very well.
I really hope you can find some relief for your hips soon. It’s so frustrating when our bodies fail us.
I would worry about the cruise after you get some answers, I assume you at least have another couple of weeks to make that decision.

Barbara - I agree about appliances, I see so many posts about people buying the fancy stuff and then being surprised when the break down so often.
I’m having a lazy pyjama day today. I’ve made breakfast and am going to start on my PowerPoint presentation.

Annie - good point about carrying a phone. I have started making sure I have a phone with me when I take my evening bath and Rodger isn’t home. If I fell and couldn’t get up I don’t know how emergency services would get in as I also lock the door, but at least I could call for help.
I should ask my SIL what they do in that situation.

I like planning and running scenarios through my head too. It helps when something does change that I can remain calm through it.

Michele - I would be taking my son up on that trip. He’s extending an olive branch and it might be a good time to accept it. I’m sure the logistics can be handled quite easily with some communication and time.

I am still suffering from plantar fasciitis, which started as what I thought was a callous. It’s been since October and I’m so tired of it. If I sit and don’t do much a few days it feels some better, but as soon as I walk or do much I’m in pain again. I don’t know how I’m going to handle my practicum.

Sue - did you get rid of the tenant yet? Maybe the goat could meet her, if not? Glad you weren’t seriously hurt.

Lanette - I need to watch that movie again. I love it! Thanks for sharing. I bought the song a while back because I liked it so much.

Lisa - what a pain appliances are. My washer is leaking a bit, so far I have been putting a towel down but I think I need to have it looked at.
I hope the scratches heal quickly with minimal pain.

Allie - how old is Carmine now?

I have sent my research paper off to Kaitkyn to look at for me. She said it looks good!
I started the PowerPoint and will finish it tomorrow and Tuesday.

I’ve spent a lot of time on it, but it will be nice to have a good mark.

I spoke to Rodger’s mom today, she was telling me that our niece that lives with her, I think she is 25 this month, has such high blood pressure she is on 3 meds. She is extremely overweight, her doctor wanted her o have bypass surgery a few years ago but because a distant cousin developed cancer right after that surgery she believes they are related and absolutely refuses it.
She does nothing to help herself and it’s quite sad.

Tracey-I have no doubt you will get a good grade. That part of the Northeast does live quite close to the edge. Where I lived in northern Maine, hunting wasn't a sport-it was feeding your family all year long. Gardens were a necessity.

Allie-I think Tracy can wait until she is 20 weeks along to find out sex-I wouldn't pay 1,000.00 for that. Of course, I had to wait 40 weeks to find out the sex of my kids!

Machka-my tear had to have surgery. That was when they told me I had replacement in my future. The labrum repair was on my right hip in 2009. Had left hip replaced 2016 and right in 2018.

Rita-I so hope you had a wonderful birthday-you deserve it.

Michele-the car shouldn't be an issue-they drive standard and automatic. And depending upon where you are, you may not need a car. Most parts of Europe have public transportation that puts US to shame, Not everyone there owns a car like we tend to. I would ask Bryan when and where. My sons are always throwing out general stuff and when I ask I get the details. Don't just jump to conclusions-your grandchild is worth a few more questions. Very good response to credit card.

Lisa-Nice battle wounds!

After talking with AZ kids they are going to stay at my house instead of hotel. I ordered two twin and one queen air mattresses-we'll throw them somewhere. I may let kids use my room (full bed) and take the air mattress in living room for me since I will be first up everyday. Due to the change I am doing even more cleaning and rearranging. Want to dust and vacuum very well due to GS asthma. Also ordered purifies for bedroom and main area. My grandson has had trouble with food allergies and has been growing out of them (he was born with a condition referred to as FPIES and it was very concerning for quite a while). Today he proudly showed the almond he was eating. He has not been able to have any tree nuts but with the last testing they gave that one the go ahead.

Totally exhausted from all of the manual labor today. No injuries like Lisa-but the week is young!

My advice (FWIW) is ... get a diagnosis first before you start planning or changing plans.

If it could be a torn labrum like I had, it might just mean a few weeks of rest.

But you don't know yet.

Have a chat with your doctor about what you've mentioned here. Ask for an X ray and MRI. Find out.

Also on here, you've not described what you are experiencing well. You may have chosen to do that deliberately and that's fine. But for your doctor be sure you are describing what you are experiencing well.
On a scale of 1 to 10, what would you rate the pain?
Is the pain sharp like a knife stab or aching like when you've done too much exercise and the next day you feel sore?
Does it feel like it is in the muscle or deeper?
Can you trace the outline of where the pain is or a line of where it starts and ends?
Does a particular activity trigger the pain?
Does the pain go away if you sit or lie down?
Go through and describe everything you can about the pain to the doctor.
Sometimes it helps to write it down.

If nothing shows up in the blood flow tests, the X-ray or the MRI, ask to be referred to a good physiotherapist who specialises in lower limbs and/or a sports doctor.

They can run you through a number of movement tests to help narrow it down.
