I loved the quilts!!
Also loved the idea of making your own protein bars. I have all them ingredients apart from light syrup. And my peanut butters running low lol.
Do you know how many calories they are per bar?
And how do you make them? Do you just put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix then portion out? Or is there a certain way?
Heres the link @Bex. She has lots of good protein recipes .. and also lots of protein bar recipes. (Theres a apple one I might make) Super easy to make. I put chocolate chips on the first time I made them (per the recipe), but skipped them the 2nd time.
Calorie wise .. if you cut into 16 pieces they are aprox 170 calories. (But I think mine were bigger .. mine were cut into 12 pcs. But .. theres a lot of protein in them, which keeps you fuller longer.
This lady also has a youtube channel .. she has lost 140 pounds, and does a lot of recipes concentrating on high protein.

Thanks so much!! I nearly bought some peanut butter and some honey today. I was gonna get honey because when I looked at what syrups we sell over here it's basically just golden syrup, or Canadian maple syrup! I said to Ash "is there such thing as light syrup?" And he said I'm probs best off with honey!
Oh wait we did buy the honey actually. And the peanut butter was a more expensive one because it was an organic one, so it was literally nuts.. and salt. No sugar, no palm oil or any other stuff.
The kind of peanut butter you can give to dogs 😂😂
But I'll have to go back and buy that now lol!!1 -

Tuesday was not the most productive day. Spent most of it waiting in the day surgery unit with my husband. His "quick" procedure was scheduled for early afternoon and the doc was over four hours behind schedule But what can you do? At least I was able to get in a walk in the morning and found fairly healthy options in the hospital cafeteria. Still, we didn't get home until 7:30 pm and I wasn't up for grading or finishing laundry at that point. My daughter stopped by, and she and I had a glass of wine and unwound. She's emotionally burnt out and struggling to adjust to not seeing her boys every day. Evenings when she's on her own are particularly tough. I know it will take time, but for now we're trying to give her some extra support.
On the bright side, we've got beautiful Spring weather this week, so I should be able to finally get out and walk. Today I'll walk at the beach - yay! - and grab a quick bite between my classes.

Been super busy yesterday and today, but did check in last night so I'm caught up on everyone's progress, but I didn't have the energy to write down goals last night.
I've eaten home cooked meals 3 days in a row! I left overs I could have tonight, but I think I'll save them for tomorrow and eat at the pub where we play trivia. I've been pretty on point with food this week, but exercise has been minimal which is crazy because I taught spin class Monday and Tuesday. Unfortunately, I was so late getting out of work that I didn't have time to change so I taught in jeans and boots. Of course that means I basically just spun a little and called class. Not ideal!

I haven't managed to post this week, a combination of internet problems and looking after grandson. Still eating too many snacks.
Today's plans have been postponed because of flooding locally, it just seems to rain...and rain..and rain... I need to go shopping and get my car ready to go into the garage for MOT. Putting it off as it's so wet.
JFT Thursday 14th March
THINK before I eat
No more than one snack
Get car ready
Do something productive inside

Yesterday was good, busy and boring, but good. Gia had fun at Doggy Daycare and was worn out by the time she got home. We (Gia, Elliott & I) all took a nap yesterday. It was delightful. Then I got up and went to trivia. It was fun, but we lost badly.
Today is pie day, so I brought pie to work. I will have a slice of apple, but a small one. Other than that and a crap ton of meetings, I'm not sure what my plans are for today. Hopeful it's just a quiet night at home, but maybe we'll go out.
JFT Thursday
- Bring pie to work
- Meetings starting at 8:00
- Leave work by 4:30
- Go by mom's to sort bills
- Home
- Nap
- Dinner
- Shower
- Bed3 -

It was good to get down to the beach to walk yesterday - blue space is my therapy! The rest of the day was crammed with work and errands, but I did get a good bit done before I picked up a pizza to take to my daughter's and then we all went for ice cream. With a busy weekend coming up, I need to get the grades and monitoring reports done tonight, but first it's off to take Mom out to enjoy the sunshine for a bit. I won't get much exercise, but I'm hoping food choices will be better today.
JFT Wednesday, 3/13

One is all his tshirts from little on up.. he is a big KC chiefs fan ... and also from michigan. Ha.. now just have to quilt the 2 sports one. I may wait and just give him the KC quilt.. and save the michigan one for xmas. My plan was to do a reversible quilt... but worried I'll ruin one side.!

Joan! These are so awesome! The tshirt quilt is amazing...those are tough to get right. And the football blocks you mad...wow! So clever! I love these and so will your grandson! Nicely done!

Hi everyone!
I just spent the past couple of days catching up. I was SO FAR behind! I had so many replies and comments typed up but deleted them when I realized how outdated they all were. I have a few things that I remember though...
@Bex953172 HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO CASEY! I cannot believe it's been 6 years already! You still make me laugh...your conversation with yourself about McDonald's made me chuckle. 😂
@Snowflake1968 You got 100% on your project! Yay you! I'm so proud of you! Sounds like you are doing really well.
@pridesabtch I love your kitchen! Beautiful. I can't even imagine having a kitchen that large. Gia has gotten so big! What a cutie pie. Glad you are starting to feel a little better.
@mytime6630 I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's doctor retiring. I hope you can get all that sorted out and that she finds a new doctor she feels comfortable with quickly. I love the quilts! Did you teach yourself to FMQ? I really need to learn how to do that. I can only do straight line or stitch-in-the-ditch but want to learn to stipple.
@cschmitz110515 I didn't realize you lived out near that shooting took place. That had to be scary! How awesome is it that we hit 70 degrees this week in March?! Amazing weather lately...
Welcome back @teigansdad ! Nice to see you! I'm sorry you've had so much going on though. I remember you did really well posting here, and I know you will again!
I know I'm forgetting things but I was nearly 200 posts I read through to catch up so I'll give myself some grace....and I know you guys won't hold it against me! lol2 -
It's late to post goals here for today so I'll just give an update on the chemotherapy/cancer treatment for now and I'll hop on with goals tomorrow.
On Monday, I had my first follow-up scans to see if the chemo & immunotherapy treatments have been working. On Tuesday morning, I saw the Oncologist for results prior to what was supposed to be my last chemo for this round of treatment. I'm EXCITED to share that the results were GREAT!
I was told at my last appointment that the goal is to stop the cancer growth and to not be disappointed if the scans didn't show any decrease in size of the masses. I was told that the goal with Stage 4 cancer is to stop it from growing and as long as there is no increase/change in current masses and no new masses, then that was considered success. So, you can imagine my surprise when the doctor told me that the masses on November's scans are no longer there! He said the results of my scans were GREAT! My doctor said that if he were to put a number on it, he'd guess 95% of cancer is gone, if not completely gone. This is amazing news for this kind of aggressive cancer!
He not only said that my response to treatment was GREAT, but he cancelled my last chemo! He said for a chance of getting perhaps 1.5% more response, it wasn't worth the side effects and illness I have had just to get that last dose. So...I had no chemo this week! Which means no nausea or vomiting, no bone pain, no mouth sores, no fingertip or foot pain....I get to just start building my strength back up instead. Yay!!!
I feel so blessed, and the feelings of overwhelm from relief, gratitude, fear, all the stuff that goes with cancer, have left me exhausted! Our prayers were answered! I slept most of yesterday and I'm still really fatigued today. I'm not naïve; I know that at any time it could reappear with the need to go back into battle, but for today I am in remission and I'm so thankful!
So....I am taking it slow and rebuilding my strength. These past months have left me pretty weak. But I am ready to jump back in and take charge of getting as healthy as I possibly can, to give myself the best chance to live MANY more years as strong, healthy and able-bodied!
I just wanted to share, as I've been in this group with some of you for many years and I thought you might like to hear the news! Yay!!!
I'll see you on here tomorrow! Have a wonderful evening!

@PackerFanInGB - I’m so incredibly happy to read your post. What a relief it is for you.
I didn’t post goals all week and it is showing on the scale.
I did log most of the week though so that’s progress.
I need to make this a priority again.
