Today’s gratitude: sense of taste, fuji apples, edge of Joe’s pancake and the warning that that cheese is “off.”
Popping in to scan a couple of pages before puppy tummy time.
To all who had bad early experiences with dentists, we are singing the same song. Four permanent teeth pulled before I was nine “to make room”. So afraid of the dentist I vomited, so he gave me a shot to calm me. That was sure to work as I was not at all terrified of needles… not! At seventeen the classic hand on forehead, knee on chest extraction. Small wonder I insist on being sedated. Like Rita I go faithfully every six months to minimize future trouble.
Lanette glad you’ve found a good take away from the house disappointment. Kylia, Machka, Vicki, Rosemarie, Ava, Allie, Margaret, Lisa, Heather, Tracey, Tina, Annie, Sue, Betsy, Barbie, you are all in my thoughts, but it will take me days to catch up.
Only thru bg 55 but time to take the dogs to Gold Beach for nail trims.
Later, lighter, lovelies!

((((HUGS)))) Rita.
I don't know if you ever listen to podcasts, and everyone has their own favourites, but I was thinking of you when I was listening to the latest "Barb knows best", especially the second half. Episode 110. "Hard but powerful truths."
As I said in my book, 'The universe supports you - listen to your feedback. ' Lots of love.
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx3 -

Rita, thinking of you. Hope these spells pass away soon. They sound so scary! Take care of yourself! Do you have notes about what happened? That might be useful in an emergency. And consider the ER again if this keeps up.
I've got henna on my hair. It's like runny mud. It has to sit for an hour, then rinse off. And my dingy brownish grey hair will be sort of shiny mahogany, and the few white hairs will turn brighter red. It's a mess to do, but cheap, and I really like the effect.

Michele- the quilt is beautiful.
Sorry you had to put Loki down- It is hard but when the quality of life just isn't there anymore, it is the thing you need to do. Been through it a few times, never gets easier.
Pip- sorry for your loss. I know it wasn't the best relationship but the grief is still there. Take time for yourself to go through it at your pace.
Tracey- hope you can get some rest- maybe try sleeping in the recliner for a few nights.
It is not what you are used to but if it gives you even a bit of relief, it is worth it.
Heather- the picture is amazing. I am sure even better to see in person

Michele Loki was lucky to have you in his life.
Rita It has been many years since I had a panic attack. I do remember they told me to have a paper bag handy and if I felt one coming on to breathe into it. What caused it for me was swallow breathing. Breathing into a bag slows the breathing down and helps give you the right CO2 balance. Keep doing those things that help you calm down. The one guided meditation I liked to listen to I got from a Silva mind class I took years ago. One of the mantras was negative thoughts will have no influence over me. I am getting better and stronger everyday. Hearing that as I write it makes me feel better.
Whatever phrase or vision that works for you to help your mind to calm go for it. I just listened to the Urban monk and he recommended it if nothing else concentrate on your breathing. Breathing with your nose. four breaths in...hold for two...four breaths out...hold for two...repeat...
Take care...4 -
pip – I’m so sorry for your loss. Sounds like your mom waited for you to be there
Tracey – the ortho MD said it was due to tight calves and that it would go away in 3 to 4 months. Well, because I was walking weirdly, I was getting a callous on another part of my foot. Couldn’t have that so I used the Dr. Scholl’s callous remover pads. Seems to have worked. Thanks for asking. Woohoo on that grade!!! You go girl! So sorry you’re in pain. What a pain! (excuse me). Hope it clears up fast for you.
After work bought fruit for Jess and Colby’s Easter Basket. I put a bottle of wine, yes, a chocolate bunny (but just a small one), some other little treats like small bags of peanuts, a rice krispie bar, things like that. Came home and wrapped the basket and her other birthday gift. I think I forgot to take a pic to share. I will when she opens the box. Had to stop at Domino’s (pizza place) for a box.
Made the mac & cheese to take up, it just has to be baked, then iced the chocolate cake and put that in a cake carrier and the apple pie in another one.
Rosemarie – what do you think caused the shortness of breath?
Rita – sending big hugs and good vibes. Take all the time you need, know that we will all be thinking of you and wishing only the best for you
Thank you everyone for your expressions of sympathy on the passing of Loki. I’m putting the rest of his chemo pills to be recycled but putting them in a baggie with a note on it “Caution”. We had to wear gloves when we gave them to him. Slowly getting things in order. Going to take some things up to Jess (like the Recovery <high calorie> food, maybe the cats at the school can use it?)
Everyone: if we can put our furbabies out of their misery, why can’t we do that with humans? If someone is in their 90’s, in constant pain, does not have quality of life, I wish we could ease that pain like we do for animals.

Hi everyone
Lisa - Glad to hear your iron levels are better. Thank you so much for your kind words and asking about my son. I have an update down below.
Allie - My heart and prayers go out to your daughter and her babies. I second what Margaret said, about talking to other parents who have children who are missing limbs, and what they did to help their children. Maybe there is a support group in her area?
Michele - What a beautiful bedspread. Sorry to hear about Loki.
PIP - I am so sorry about your mom's passing.
RVRita - It's been quite a few years since I had a panic attack, but they are very scary. Prayers of peace for you.
Sorry I've been MIA, but the last two weeks have been rough. My son has had two setbacks, which resulted in hospital stays both times. (He's still there in ICU) with aspiration Pneumonia, and had to have surgery to switch from a G-Tube, to a GJ-Tube, due to complications. The doctor's warned me about a long recovery time and bumps in the road, but it's still hard to deal with when it happens. My dad was just admitted to the hospital today too. He has dementia, and developed a severe kidney infection, which requires IV antibiotics. That old saying, "When it rains, it pours" sure is true.
My weight loss journey is still going well, albeit a lot slower than in the beginning. I recently increased my exercise (daily walking) from 20 minutes to 30 minutes a couple of days ago, and I now have a shin splint in my left leg from walking to much. Guess I got a little to confident in my abilities, and my body said, "Nope". So I'm icing my leg, and sticking with stretching and breathing exercises for the next few days.
Take care everyone and have a great weekend.

April so sorry to hear that your dad is ill on top of everything going on with your son. Thinking of you, and hoping for fewer smaller bumps in the road. Good job keeping up your weight loss!

Just want to let you all know that if I disappear for a while, it’s because of the panic attacks I’ve been having. Since Sunday’s trip to the ER, I’ve had another mild one Monday which I handles with breathing exercises and Meditation app (Balance) that I have. Had another a little worse on Tuesday and worse on Wednesday. Yesterday, was another bad one like Sunday, but I caught it, calmed it some with breathing and my app and added wine and walking until I went to bed at 7:30. Stayed with me through the night whenever I woke for whatever reason (dog, bathroom, just restless), and still am shaky this morning. I know this is what is happening but can’t see a doctor until the 4th. All the tests the ER did and the meds they gave me made it go away much faster. So anyway, keep me in mind. You all have worse things to deal with, so just remember me. I will try to get on here at least every day. Maybe more. You all seem to comfort me!
I can say DH is begging very good about this and worries. He wouldn’t let me out of his sight when I walked yesterday. I did use a walking stick to help me if I fell go down easier. I haven’t been on the ground since Sunday, but sure do come close lately with dizzy and no balance. At least the camper is small so I don’t have to walk without hanging on to something.
Breathe!!
RVRita
Rita - take good care. Glad you understand what is happening and you are searching for ways to resolve it. And very happy your DH is being attentive. Hugs and prayers you get over this soon, glad you have a doc appointment next week.
