🌻 Hello, ladies, and Happy April!!!🌻
🌻 The weather is changing, and we're changing with it! What are your goals for this month and the spring overall?
🌻 What do you feel like you've been doing right? Feel free to brag! And is there one specific area that you'd like to concentrate on or something in general that you'd like to work harder on in April?
🟡 If you've never been here before, please know you are welcome to join at any point in the month. All you have to do is post something, and then BAM!, you're one of us.
🟡 In this group, we post our weekly and monthly goals and provide support and motivation to each other as we share our triumphs and our struggles. This group is all about accountability.
🟡 All are welcome, and if you think you belong here, you do! No matter how much you currently weigh or how you measure (or don't measure) your weight, we'd love to hear from you.
🟡 Victories, both scale and non-scale, are great to hear about, but, conversely, we know that weight loss isn't all sunshine and roses. If you're going through a rough patch, please feel free to be honest and vent your heart out. The struggle is real and we're all here to support each other!
🌻 This April, let's astound and astonish ourselves with everything we can accomplish!!!🌻

Hi everyone.
I am not new to MFP, I lost 30kg in 2016/2017 using this app and doing regular exercise. Life however happened and due to personal difficulties (trauma and covid) I gained back all the weight I lost.
I am however back and ready to do it again. I am taking back responsibility and accountability and I will prove to myself that I can not only lose the weight again but I can maintain this time.
My starting weight this April is 94.2kg. My goal for April is 90kg. My UGW is 58kg.
Thanks for the support I know there will be plenty of as I embark on this journey again.
Regards.

Hello All! I am going to switch to Monday weigh-in for the month. Weekends can show the best of me--but also the most RELAXED of me. I think Monday reporting will help keep me accountable. I am also setting a BIG goal of a 2lb a week weight loss. This is a challenge for me. I am hoping this mentally provides less *wiggle* room for me to justify bending my habits/grabbing the wrong snacks for my goals.
Wishing everyone strong will and dedication this month! I'm here cheering you on!5 -
Hi everyone ☺️ My name is Jaxx. I'm brand new to my fitness pal. Dr recommended this morning when I asked for weight loss meds. Ive always struggled with my weight up and down as well as disordered eating. She said try this 1st, changing some habits, being more active and mindful in my daily living and we will go from here! So here I am. I'm uncomfortable but I'm aware that the best growth comes from the uncomfortable 😌 💯
I am 40 (almost 41) and I currently weigh 239 lbs. I've literally gained 9 lbs since March 1st.... 4 birthday parties, Easter and a week in the hospital with major kidney stone surgery will do that I suppose. I am an amputee but I function like normal 2 legged folk. And I have a 2 year old and a 12 year old to help keep me on my toes Lol 😆
My goal is to lose 10lbs this month with mindful eating, more exercise and accountability.
Sorry if this isn't what I was suppossed to write here but....here I am in all my glory lol 😆 💜✨️
Thanks to you all for being here and being you! ♥️12 -
April is my birthday month, and I'll be turning 48! To celebrate, I've set some goals for myself: I aim to lose 5 pounds this month. I plan to hit the gym at least 3 times a week and take two walks every day. Additionally, I'll ensure to drink 100 ounces of water daily. On top of that, I'm committed to including a weekend gym session in my routine. Here's to a healthy and fulfilling birthday month ahead!

@mmatcha_latte CONGRATULATIONS on 49 pounds! That is truly incredible.
I LOVE avgolemono soup! So delicious and protein rich. I suggest a heavy hand of fresh dill. You have inspired me to add this to my meal prep for next week. I have several lemons calling out for a purpose.3 -
@sharon81 I am the same way. When I dont have a normal day I struggle a lot. And feel like I am constantly starting over.6

Not a great week, weight-loss wise but still a loss, so I’ll take it! I’ve increased my workouts this week, so I’m hoping some of my slower loss is due to water retention? One can always hope! I’ve also been sleeping poorly, and I know that always has an effect on my loss as well.
I’m one day early for my weekly weigh in because this afternoon, I’m headed to a week-long conference for work. It’s pretty much impossible to correctly count calories when I travel (since I don’t like pulling out my scale in the middle of a restuarant 😂) and I don’t think I’ll have a lot of choice as to what I eat because we will all be served the same thing for each meal. But, I packed some protein bars and protein powder so I’m hoping that if a meal seems ridiculously high in calories to me, I can abstain and replace with what I brought. I also won’t have access to a scale.. oh well! I know that ultimately, creating a lifestyle of change is what matters but I would also reeeally like to see 174 soon.
I’m bringing my workout gear and there seems to be a small gym on property so hopefully I can at least stay active. Another plus is that portions are generally pretty small here in Central Asia (unlike the crazy big restuarant portions in the US!) - my husband actually has trouble getting enough food when we travel! Ahhh, if only I had his metabolism..4 -
Greetings. I’m back after a week-long vacation with my daughter, her baby, my younger son, and my oldest sister. I’m weighing a bit above where I was just before I left, and I know it’ll take me a couple of days back in my routines to see where I really am. Even so, I’m still 5 lbs down since Jan 26. That’s a win in my book.
I hope all are doing well.
Baby pic for attention.

Hello all I’ll introduce myself as CW. I restarted MFP at the end of January weighing 210. I’m 58 and ironically my height is
5’8!! My goal weight is 160, but 150 would be FANTASTIC!! I’m really struggling with post menopausal weight gain around my belly and up!! I’m also an emotional eater and use teaching preschoolers with special needs and caring for someone with a disability as an excuse most of the time!! I also love to enjoy an adult beverage now and then. Lately it’s become more frequent!!😩!! I’ve unfortunately gained weight since starting and I’m extremely disappointed with myself. However when I decided to step on the scale this morning I had lost 2.6 pounds!! I just can’t wait to no longer see the 2 on the scale!!
I love being outdoors 🚴♀️’g, taking long walks and kayaking when the weather permits. I’m not a fan of going to the gym but do it when the weather is crummy!!
Thanks for taking the time to read all of this!!5 -

I remarkably didn't gain much weight if any in Japan, through absolutely no tracking on my part.
I did walk absolutely everywhere, was very tired and sore every day, and ate just alllllll the fish and rice, and I think all that helped. We saw so many great things- Himeji castle, Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine to Inari, the goddess who brought rice down to Japan on a flying white fox, Todai-ji, the temple to the Buddha, the shrine at Nara where deer are sacred, so we fed some. They bow when they would like a cookie from you We went to Tokyo and Osaka and Kyoto, and of those, Kyoto was my favorite. Lots and lots of history there.
Below are some photos (and some of what I ate, lol- the convenience stores over there have amazing food, believe it or not, and there are convenience stores everywhere, so we alternated between very fancy meals and convenience store food, haha). In fact my first dinner in Japan was convenience food, haha. My food on the left- the soy eggs and onigiri- I ate so many onigiri, and they were all so good- I especially liked the ones with salt salmon inside.
The next day, we went to the imperial palace in tokyo and on a restaurant bus, which had several courses of amazing food
That night, we went to Osaka via the shinkansen (bullet train- it's so fast and convenient!), and went to sushi-ro, a local chain sushi conveyor belt place. Obligatory plate picture, haha. I'm still thinking about the shrimp cheese basil pesto mayo sushi I had there. I need to recreate it.
The next morning, we headed out for Himeji castle. Conbini (convenience store) breakfast, this combo slapped- the pork katsu sandwich and strawberry cream filled donut, yum:
We also went to Osaka castle, although we didn't go inside. That night, I got noodles and a mille crepe cake from the conbini, along with a can of rose called Hoegaarden, lol. The noodles were so good!
The next day, we went to Nara and Todai-ji, and fed the deer. I had a lot more pictures, must not have uploaded them. We also went to Arashiyama bamboo forest and fushimi inari taisha (the 10000 gates), of which none of my pictures did I upload yet, so mad at myself.
We ate at the conbini again, and I discovered a love for a royal milk tea frappe with biscuit bits in it, I had this frappe several times, and I want to recreate it so bad.
We checked into our ryokan, and the next morning before breakfast, we went to a famous spot for sakura- old railroad tracks. The ryokan breakfasts were absolutely bar none amazing. We also went to a 2 michelin star restaurant in gion, and it was incredible. We also went to Heian shrine and Kiyomizu-dera twice- once during the day, and once at night for the sakura illumination.
The next day, we went to Nijo castle, and it was raining, so we did a lot of our shopping for gifts. We had some incredible ramen and gyoza, and I got a lemon ramen they only make when it rains. We also caught our shinkansen back to tokyo, and dinner was combini again. That little cake was so light and fluffy and cute, and those onigiri- when I tell you they have a stranglehold on me. I have ordered an onigiri mold for myself, lol.
The next morning, we went to senso-ji before breakfast, to beat the crowds. The ryokan breakfast was again unparalleled, and afterward we went to shinjuku-gyoen park for a digestion walk, went to a ninja-themed restaurant for lunch (cheesy, and too expensive, but the food was good- that little frog guy is sweetened cream cheese around a strawberry on top of a brownie), did the last of our shopping, and used the onsen (a hot spring, but imagine more like a hot tub) in the ryokan. This was the view right outside the onsen.
Our last morning in Japan, we had one more great ryokan breakfast, went to Ueno park for the sakura, and sadly had to leave.
Yesterday, we were still recovering from jet lag, and I couldn't sleep past 1:30 in the morning, so I got up and made japanese side dishes:
Potato salad
Zucchini tempura
Squash
Marinated eggs
Red bean paste
Teriyaki spam
Chili cucumbers
Caramelized onions
Bacon sweet potatoes
Pickled parsnips
And for dinner I made salt salmon, so when my onigiri molds come tomorrow, I can recreate the food I liked so much in Japan. I also bought some side dish plates, because I loved eating a little of each side dish with rice. Great experience. I need to find a place to get a mille crepe cake around here, that was great.
Anyway! It's time for Operation Beach Body! I've only got a little over two months to get ready for our weeklong beach vacation. I know you all can help motivate me for that.
I have read all your posts, but this was a long one, so no tag party for me today, haha.
Have a great day, everyone!

Daily Goals: (officially starting tomorrow since today’s almost past)
1. Walk 4000 steps. *this is going well. I exceeded this almost every day. Once I missed by 10 steps and one day by 19. This week I’ll check the number before crawling under the covers and am too cozy (lazy) to get back up and finish it out. I did miss 2 other days, not even close!*
2. Eat one large carrot or drink 1 can V-8 for a snack *nope*
3. Eat one apple or applesauce *nope*
4. Go to bed before midnight. *yes! 5/7 nights. I’m calling it a win*
5. Spend some time outside. *yes! Every day got some morning sunshine and/or went for a late afternoon walk. This week I'm going to plan at least 15 minutes of yard cleanup when I’m outside.*
I had my wellness visit last week and everything looks good. Yay! My cholesterol had been higher a year ago and my doctor wanted me to increase cholesterol medicine from 10 to 20mg based on the numbers which, btw, were just in the high normal range. So being a rebel, instead of increasing the dosage,I cut the pills in half still getting the 10 mg daily. Then I started walking 250 steps 6-9 hours a day, cut way down on sugar, and started eating oatmeal and taking Metamucil every day for fiber, and lost 8 pounds. I proved to my doctor that increasing medicine isn’t the only answer and she needs to discuss things with me so I can take action instead of taking more drugs. Now the pressure is on to keep up with the behavior changes to keep the numbers where she wants them.
Hope the second week of April is a good one for you all!2 -
@CupcakeCrusoe What an amazing trip you had!! Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.0

Good morning everyone!
180.6 this morning, so maybe I didn't gain anything at all in Japan, which would be great for Operation Beach Body.
I am super tired today, went to the gym for the first time since vacation yesterday, and it was tough, but I'm glad I did. I slept almost normally again, except the baby woke up in the middle of the night, oh well.
All my food prep I did Sunday is paying off this week, as I just threw some stuff in boxes for me and Whatsisface for breakfast and lunch this morning: breakfast is a soy marinated egg, delicious, and a crepe with red bean paste in it. Lunch is leftover pork fried rice from yesterday (very small amount) and some roasted squash for me. For Whatsisface, it's a crepe with teriyaki spam and cream cheese, potato salad, and pickled cucumber (not american pickles, lol).
Tonight, my onigiri molds and side dish plates come in, I'm so excited about making onigiri. My new berry bushes for the front yard come in Friday, I'm excited about that too, although I'm going to have to get my butt in gear getting their bed established.
Gonna do my best tonight to relax, maybe finish mulching the existing front beds if I have energy leftover, but I am very tired. I'm giving myself permission to not.
Tag party (only this page, because tired):
@nebslp I love that you took your fate in your hands cholesterol wise! I had a similar fight with my doc about blood pressure once upon a long time ago, and proved to him that I could be on a lower dose and still have fine bp readings.
@jenbroussard71 welcome! Back surgery recovery I imagine is hard to deal with, physical activity wise. I'm so excited to hear more about you.
@skintight303 bike commute, wonderful! I so wish I had the road infrastructure around me to do that. I know you're disappointed that it's not the two pounds you wanted, but it is very close, and what with you being as tall as you are, it is going to get harder to lose 2 lbs/week as you get closer to your goal (which again, you are!). You're doing great, is what I'm saying.
@krabuck GREETINGS SNACK QUEEN game recognizes game, lol. I too love to snack. I loved C25k when I did it. Can't wait to hear more from you!
Have a great day, everyone!

I don't know why, but the struggle is so real lately. I feel all my high energy and motivation are while I am at work. I get up and move, go for walks. Our building is not that big.... 😖 By the time I get home and make dinner I am tired and starving. This has resulted in overeating dinner and not getting the movement in that I wanted to. Over the weekend I could not be bothered to log food and keep track which caused me to break my 130+ day streak I had going. 😭 I am already on a better track logging and eating better this week. I finally weighed in today and I am at 183.2 so maintaining my weight fluctuating between 181 and 183. So over all I am not doing badly... just no progress.
I am stress about the upcoming trial in the Drunk driving incident that killed my mother, which has my mind muddled up and maybe that's why I can't seem to focus on my weight loss at the moment.
As always thanks for being here and posting your successes and frustrations as they are highly encouraging to me!6 -
Hello all! Hope you all are having a great week so far. The weather here has been rainy so I haven't been walking outside. I had my 3 month post op appointment this morning and to my surprise I was discharged by the doctor. My only restrictions are to avoid heavy lifting. He said to listen to my body so I don't over-do things. I will continue doing the exercises that I learned in physical therapy and I may look into Pilates.
My eating has been on point - I am being very mindful of what I eat and weighing my portions when I am at home. I am feeling very emotional with everything and nothing at all if that makes sense. It must be hormones...
Thank you all for sharing a little bit about yourself.3 -

I tend to lose weight using cardio, even though that is not sustainable for me long term. I am a busy mom and don't have hours every day to get 15,000+ steps. So this time around I am trying to do more strength training. hope this will be the answer long term.
I also have lost 50-80 pounds in the past several times, but I always stall out at 185ish and regain all the weight plus some. Any ideas on how to get over that hurdle when I get there? Feel free to add me as a friend. I could use some weight loss buddies.2 -
@sharon81, I’m so sorry for your tragic loss. Maybe at work it is easier to avoid thinking about it? And not that you “should” worry about weight loss, esp now, but if it gives you something else to focus on, maybe start planning exercise before anything else when you get home. I make myself go “even if it’s just for a mile” (or whatever), and nearly always finish my regular walk or run. I try to keep workout clothes in the downstairs bathroom so changing is quick, and drinking fresh, cool water gives me that tiny boost of energy to get out the door, sometimes.
Sounds like you are doing pretty well, all things considered. I’m sending positive vibes to help you through the coming storm.1
