I approached keto with trepidation before starting it. I prayed about it. I asked TMH what should I do. I was at my highest weight EVER recovering from a high ankle sprain and I needed a sure way to lose that weight. I began with Intermittent Fasting for one month and transitioned to keto. It took 1 week for me to get into ketosis because of my fasting. Fasting puts your body in mild ketosis.4 -

Hi all. Back again. Put on three odd stone after I gave up smoking. Had got down to 10 stone 13 before I stopped. Went up to 14 stone 4 in the space of nine months. So back again.
SW - 13 stone 1+1/4 (183 pounds)RND 255
GW - Comfortably under 13 stone. 12st 9 would be good ( 177 pounds)
UGW - Around 9 stone (126 pounds). For my Height. I'm 5ft 3
3/27 - 183 pounds - Tried out Heylo keto bread, only 1g a slice. The white bread is really good. Will do some on my exercise bike.
3/28 184 drunk lots of water today In prep for body wrap tomorrow
3/29 184 had body wrap very tiring, slept all day
3/30 185 think it's water retention
3/31 183 feeling a bit sick, unable to eat very much, was at friends for dinner, couldn't eat much
4/1 183 still feeling sick, very full after one meal.
4/2 182 down to 13 stone, have to try harder weight not budging. Three days to make a difference.

4/4 182 scale hasn't budged. This week could have been better. Still 13 stone. So hard to lose weight with my hormones the way they are.

Good news is another small loss- I'm in the weight range I want to stay in. Tomorrow is a fitness assessment at my gym, looking forward to seeing the difference from my last in fall of 2022- it has to be better!

3/27- 162.7 Trend is still going down despite being up/relatively flat the last round. Turkey tacos for dinner tonight.
3/28- 163.2 Staying on track and trusting the process.
3/29- 163.3 Went 250 calories over because I got confused adding up lunch calories. Drank plenty of water today which I haven't been doing lately.
3/30- 161.6 New low. Within calories today but didn't drink enough water. I need to work on filling up and using a water bottle.
3/31- 160.7 (72.9 kg) Another whoosh, possibly due to TOM. I'm 5.6 pounds (2.5 kilos) from the lowest I've been in 4 years and it's a bit exciting. Drank more water today too.
4/1- 162.1 Trend weight is still going down. I really enjoy using Libra. I would upload a picture but apparently the app on Android doesn't support that.
4/2- 162.4 Slight uptick.
4/3- 161.6 And back down.
4/4- 161 even. Tomorrow is bowling with coworkers and enjoying some bowling alley food.

@tiabirdie56 Thanks Tia! I've been reading about "Mediterranean" Keto today and thinking it will be a better option as the carbs are not quite as low but studies show similar metabolic advantages. Luckily already doing IF, but need to be more strategic about my eating window. Still investigating meals and planning a detox day over the weekend before starting officially on Monday. I'll just need to figure out when I'm in ketosis without relying on on strips, lol7 -

Good luck everyone for a successful round.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

3/29. 142.4 (trend141.3), could have been worse had a major feeding frenzy yesterday & no structured exercise as child minding little DGS. No weighing for the next 3 days as we have travelled up to the peak district for Easter.

3/31. DNW - 11.87 miles & 130 flights of stairs, a third of exercise calories eaten back.

Just want to report my 🎾 team won 🏆 our division yesterday and we are headed to state at the end of April. It’s just plain fun. I was EXHAUSTED after the match. As captain, it’s impossible to not be emotionally invested. Last night I was so hungry. Ate a burger with bacon & cheese. No bun. Scale approved this morn but will probably show up tomorrow. Crazy. Will drink tons of 💦 today. Sunrise walk now, then catch up with life today. Yes, will 🙆♀️🤸🏼📿🏋️♀️. Will do it all!
NSV: Since I went out of my regular eating patterns yesterday, I’ll follow up with plenty of water today. It’s a helpful habit.
3/28 Yesterday I got sidetracked - it was as if I had a worm in my brain devouring every rational thought. I had planned all of my workouts -and the moment I started thinking about my tennis team going to state, I didn’t stop thinking about it for 14 hours… THAT is an unhelpful habit!
Today- Headed out the door for my morning walk then a full day, preparing to head out of town before daybreak tomorrow!
3/29 ⚖️ forgot to weigh this morn. All ✅ except 🏋️♀️ yesterday. Too distracted again…. On the road @3:30am. Packed resistance bands and jump rope 📿… and HM. Will check in tomorrow just to read entries. ☦️
3/30 DNW zero movement except for stretching each time we stopped. 15 hours in the car -three hrs over due to accidents. Glad we are here safe. ✅ food & 💦! Today:BEACH WALK with DH side of family. Will be fun.

3/31 DNW Happy Easter!
Yesterday: 16k steps. Beach time. Ate according to plan… Just a little more than usual - no desserts & lots of protein. Lots of 💦. Walked 3.5 miles this morning before everyone got up… We are headed to a Southern Lawn party later today … Will enjoy the food staying away from carbs & desert. Staying away from carbs and dessert is NBD anymore… If I see something, I absolutely must taste I will, but not planning on it …. Gorgeous day ahead of us. Sending ❤️ and hope.
4/1 DNW I tasted, tasted, tasted @ the lawn party. Will post a pic. Did not “over-eat” per se but ate more and differently than the healthy me. My meals are usually perfunctory. Not yesterday. Lamb and beef tenderloin. Brie. Brussel sprouts. I ate a few scrumptious bites of the most delicious scratch carrot cake and a few nibbles of dark chocolate/almonds. One piece of BREAD! Will definitely feel the difference today/tomorrow. Might be sick. Enough tasting for a good long while. Today: Charleston WTA tennis tournament & lots of walking & 💦.
4/2 DNW yesterday: tournament food is yucky. Cobb salad, chicken wrap and a burger patty. I’m a puff ball today. Will 💦💦💦. Tournament was a blast tho… walking streets of Charleston today. TBH: I want a few days of rest. Too much stimulation for this old bird. I prefer a quiet schedule.
4/3 DNW-drive home! @ Waffle House right now (black coffee, bacon/eggs) driving home. Yesterday: walked 10 miles in Charleston & beach. Great day. My healthy me disappeared last night. Chicken wings & queso. one Margarita. Moderation yes, but not exactly healthy. Planning 💦💦💦 today. I wont weigh tomorrow…. Wanting a day to flush! Today: Hopefully we make it home in 12 hours… And get to see our dogs tonight!
4/4 Made it home in 12 hrs! Total discombobulation this morn after our trip. Today: will settle in to real life. 💦🚶♀️🏋️♀️🤸🏼. Hoping to not finish R255 over 130 but I probably will. Not so much by WHAT I ate, but WHEN - as well as sleep patterns. I think it’ll take me two or three days to get back in the groove/adjust to my regular daily patterns.
NSV: My challenge while on vacay staying with family was that there was no regularity to schedule or food… I went with the flow without stressing out over not being able to stay on plan… . Big win for me.

Still not “regular” yet. I’ll be 130.0 again in a few days. Long for my routine. Yesterday I had an amazing walk around town… 5.5 miles & 🏋️♀️ for 10 minutes. Reconnected my soul. Stretched last night.
NSV: I learned that I “can” venture slightly off the “healthy & fit” beaten path… (on vacay) … But I really don’t want to again. The “why” is no reward. Nothing. My comfort zone is the WOE that I have embraced over the last 250+ days. I felt somewhat rudderless & lost this past week or so … I much prefer the straight and narrow path. It gives me more power & focus. 💪🏻
TBH- I give myself an “F” for this round. Food & 💦 was fine but didn’t reach my 🏋️♀️ or 📿 goals. Not even close. Or HB. I fell off the rails. Sure, I can blame vacation, but I brought my book, jump rope and resistance bands. They just sat in a bag. I will definitely focus next round.

WOE since 7/2023: Whole Foods. No processed foods. Animal-based proteins. EGGS, Beef, pork, chicken, seafood, venison and grass-fed whey protein. I count macros & kcals - always will. (Since portion control is my issue). Keto is high-fat but I’m now leaning lower healthy fats with leaner proteins. I had paralyzing IBS for 20 years. My mother was diagnosed with celiac’s disease in her 50’s. Following her lead, I eliminated wheat, oat, barley, and rye several years ago…. Dairy? Hard cheese, HWC and butter - an occasional Greek yogurt. Vegetables destroy my digestive system… I love vegetables, but when I splurge, I pay for it for a few days… I do enjoy berries, lemons, limes. Avocados are my weakness. Enjoy a piece of dark chocolate on occasion. Generally, I eat btw noon and 6 pm. (IF18/6). Alcohol? Used to be a social drinker and would enjoy a good martini/scotch or Paloma at home while cooking dinner. NO MORE. Root of many evils. Primarily, the destruction of will power and the enemy of optimal choices. I’d rather journey toward my best-self. I haven’t given up alcohol completely, but I enjoy it sparingly on special occasions. This is me. I finally feel terrific.

The yo-yo is exhausting & unhealthy. Takes up way too much brain space.
I learned MY choices created an emotional 🎢 roller coaster with yo-yo weight and fitness. My forever goal is to be healthy & fit & maintain approx. 130lbs & IN SHAPE - to enjoy my “Senior” years to my fullest.
While active with 🚶♀️& 🎾 it’s clear a ST 🏋️♀️🤸🏼routine was absent. Strength & balance are 💯most important now. Time to incorporate ST 🏋️♀️ 🙆♀️🤸🏼as my TRUE focus. I want healthy/fit choices to be my first nature.

04/05 -DNW- (Trend weightDNW) Well, I hate that the last day of the challenge ends on my no-weigh Friday. I rarely weigh on this day of the week due to my schedule. I will start tomorrow’s challenge with tomorrow’s weight instead of this challenge end weight. I made tacos last night for son, foodie daughter and grandson. I know how much sodium is there so I plan on drinking plenty of water today to hopefully flush it out. Today I plan on making Spaghetti. Everyone else will get regular pasta, I will use “special” magic noodles to minimize the calories and carbs for my dish. The challenge will be staying away from the cheese filled garlic twist bread.

RND 2553/27 173.1 Good start to the round 🙂. Stayed on track with my goals and ate mostly healthy. One thing that I noticed I need to work on is I'm taking in (mainly drinking) too many artificial sugars. Need to cut back on those. 4/1-177-Easter came and went. Our adult sons came to stay a few nights and it was wonderful to have them here. I let too many things get in the way of my walking; today I’ll get back at it.

4/3-176-Two dr. appointments yesterday and still had time to ride the horse and work in the yard. Easter came early this year….my yard is finally looking nice. Walked after dinner 3.5 miles. It’s a start.
4/4-176-Glad to stay, was hoping for a drop but had salty ham for dinner. DH wants to drive up to the snow today…..probably lunch out, if so, I am hoping for control. With a storm moving in, there won’t be much walking. Yoga this morning.
4/5-175-Went to yoga in the a.m. and then drove up to the snow for the afternoon. It was storming and we finally found a restaurant open. The steak salad was a good choice to go with the long ride. Just cooked asparagus for dinner. Off to a quilting class today-Featherweight.10 -

All in all yesterday I did well except for one detail. DiGiornos rising crust frozen pizza for supper. We were both tired and wanted something easy as we watched UConn TROUNCE Illinois. (I was rooting for Illinois) Kiddos over today for Easter Dinner after church. Four generations involved. Double smoked spiral sliced ham on the menu. It involves application of maple syrup followed by spiced rub between each slice before going on the smoker. Meat candy essentially. Don’t expect to see a drop tomorrow.

Happy new round! It’s a cold, wet, windy morning here, so I’m hoping to finish a cardigan I’m knitting. That’s exercise, right? 🤪 I’ve been knitting up a storm the past few months—can’t snack when knitting. Here’s a wrap I finished last week.

Charlie chased the Easter bunny out of the yard last night, so I don’t think we’ll be having any chocolate. 🤣 We’re actually eating pretty healthy since it’s just me and DH—he’s making a turkey breast, asparagus, and oven roasted potatoes for late lunch/early dinner, and I made French toast (I use thin-sliced Dave’s Good Seed, which makes delicious French toast, and use a little raspberry spread, no sweeteners—yummy). I’m hoping to get a walk in, but right now it’s cold and rainy. Anyway…Happy Easter to those who celebrate.

That’s amazing, since I’ve been eating a bit too much the past 3 days. Fine by me! I’ve set up some “change of habit” goals to apply one-by-one over the next few rounds, beginning this round and next with no snacking while reading, which I do all to often. Like many people, I tend to come up with multiple changes I want to make all at once and it never works, so I’m going to try one or two at a time. Small changes add up!

No one else showed up for agility class, so Charlie and I got 20 minutes of running time. I wasn’t running all of that, but a good portion, so good spurt of exercise.

I’m still getting used to not tracking my food, so this is fine. I’m confident I’ll do progressively better as I’m paying more attention to what I actually want to eat and whether I’m really hungry or just want something in my mouth. Warmer weather will help, and that seems to be coming in a few days—yay!
