WOW! I have been reading off and on all day and finally got caught up!
Lisa: Your planter with the ferns and plants is lovely.
Kylia: I hope your DH appreciates all the hours after work that you put into your day.
Rita: So sorry about your tooth. Glad you got to eat a warm steak dinner.
I took no notes so this is all I can remember at the moment.
Welcome to all the new posters!
We attended my brother's graveside service on Saturday morning and it was nice. This is the first time I have been back to my hometown (Forsyth, GA) in 6 yrs and it has changed so much. I don't even know if I could find any of the places I was once familiar with. Another thing that really bothered me is the fact that all along I-75 so much of the land has been close cropped. There used to be forest all along the way and it makes me sad.

Had a wonderful day yesterday. Went to Seattle Symphony with friends, a very relaxing afternoon.
Went to dentist this morning to get mouth appliance for sleep apnea. I am interested to try it tonight. She said it may help with dry mouth caused by medications too. That would be a plus. Weight is staying the same. I need to either up the exercise or reduce the eating. Hard right now with fatigue from a-fib.
Michelle - I love KJ's suggestions.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA6 -
Michele - How about Interflora? They deliver anywhere.
A decent day today. John paid my cheques in. The cleaner cleaned. I decluttered a bathroom shelf, and a winter lights decoration. Both have been getting on my nerves for weeks. Got my fake irises out. Cooked delicious halloumi curry. My sink drain cleaner arrived. I will try it tomorrow, though I'm pretty sure the problem is further down the pipe. Tomorrow I have some upholstery cleaner arriving. I seem to have the spring cleaning bug!
I'm sad not to be going to pick up Bea tomorrow. But taking a taxi to their house would be a bit extravagant as we have Max on Wednesday, and I will have to get taxis to and from the Regency. Haven't seen Bea for a while.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Had to be up early for dr appt. at 9AM. The fun gyn PAP test.
Usually not a big deal. I have had the same dr for years and she is really good-painless and quick.
The assistant that checked me in/weighed(was 2 lbs more than I was at home but that is fine because I was fully dressed w/ shoes on and BP was perfect). She said my dr had an intern with her, was that ok. I said yes. Well, boy was that a mistake. Thinking it would be another lady dr and in comes this HUGE- well over 6' tall big black MAN!! He did the exam-my dr just stood there. He was NOT gentle. It really hurt. had to hold my dr's hand. So glad it was fairly quick. And, beings it is just once every 3 yrs as long as this one comes out ok like all the others have, I only have one more- they stop at 65yrs old.
Got done and met dh at his mom's. Walked her dog for 30 min. Had an appointment to drop my car off for oil change at 10:30 so had an hour to kill- he enjoys the longer walks- I will do more tomorrow beings I don't have class or wetlands walk.
Went to Black Friday- found some cool deals-everything was $2 each
My favorite one was a set of 5 of the acrylic center piece "vase"
I got two from there before and they work great for my AeroPods/hydroponic garden starts.
https://www.amazon.com/WORHE-Rectangular-Arrangements-Centerpiece-CH450/dp/B09MHS3DLF/ref=sr_1_6?crid=9FZ4QIRG19FJ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.CyGfh2OTbU5KtVwu2RoiW0m5BsnYchfaIEfj1lqfj4rGMn7Y6zyGK8Hu19AihBrvZw67lHnhFo45b_AlzMsuuSFgevJmhQPslQmyaseBbd4DkMkRbkjXNhMeWljzxRUgQT8fZCsOWXTRklx7gA0NIkDIioASPeD21ICzgi3Upew_GKYmrMG2asBq30i3AbFv3vP-QmQlslbvPfwht_4TTkt6Y-1WZ14Wf5QB85EHrdeErkk13LbIEZgPGnToVa_crJnzlt_0VK5sYUXLe5Oik5EUHyPsWGyLzYrfmwb6D5A.sit7TVwuJ6ic08Oh8hR_EstLXlL594yvIHLP67SnwvQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=clear+acrylic+fresh+flower+display&qid=1713218915&sprefix=clear+acrylic+fresh+flower+display,aps,196&sr=8-6&th=1
Right before I found that bag, I found a bag of the Aeropod holders-40 pk which I had needed.
The vases are great for now but I will also be able to use them next summer at our class reunion that I am in charge of. Using them will be simple for our decorations.
We bought a bunch of other things. One that has to be a mistake is a cat bed.
https://www.amazon.com/Modern-Daybed-Furniture-Bedside-Indoor/dp/B0C3897R2D/ref=sr_1_145?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.zQJY5ry9rxRmB0o0rFY2_fyOL65FM_ZoA0vg2c7uUfQ6GPQ0iScO-9kaqUUTFccoumMRmfZ_NjkX3QvDnLbLFHqpSeMkMOx1nmOtiv5kAIsjalqKF3oWHY9I2yfzn6vVadKm0tmxf-_-1OuhWEEwGA1dKmr5R7GdsqU_FX_inoUjjLq10cYjuqp3IgXIcNVZ._fWE61LntTQSeRgZqfnKTtjqpfe_dV-imFTw5jZBEpw&dib_tag=se&keywords=wooden+elevated+cat+beds&qid=1713219386&s=pet-supplies&sr=1-145
Have class tonight. Will be at at least 8,000 before starting so should get 15,000 steps in by the time I go to bed.
No plans at all for tomorrow.

A few pictures of mr Miles today..Tracy measuring at 19 weeks but is 16 weeks has gained a whopping 5 lbs lol she goes to see the FMD next week.6 -
Lisa-yes, it does contain D-Manose but has some other things with it. I have been taking plain D-Manose for some time. My culture came back negative. I have been doing research on inadequacies of uni tests. I appears my experience is not isolated. Going to check out some alternatives (nothing wild) and do more research and keep notes and go over with urologist at June visit. I'm going ahead and finishing antibiotic I started because I am feeling somewhat better.
Kylia-well last week's rain and this sunshine is doing wonderful things to lawns around here! I guess with your business you need the long hours when you get them-that's when you make the most money. I hope your staffing issues work out (and your people get healthy).
Pip-I like your yard work-very good use of small space.
Tracey-I would be careful about how big of a purse-especially should strap style and putting lots in it. I seem to remember you discussing neck problems for some reason. I am careful of bag sizes now.
Heather-I don't envy John the traffic at all. I bet he did appreciate the stew!
Annie-I am not certain how well someone would have to know your father to determine him unable to drive. I believe there are some standard sorts of tests. I would google and see what is available in your state. Won't hurt to know options.
Beautiful day today. Had a great walk. Need to get trash to the curb. I cleaned litter box and did four vacuuming. Am running out of steam for the day so will do trash and get lunch and breakfast packed for tomorrow-saves much time in the morning.
Take care all,

My DH used to talk about dragonfruit when he drove truck, he found it in Florida. I actually found some here this year and picked it up for him.
Kylia - l don’t understand why people don’t go to the doctor either. I fought DH for close to 15 years to see a doctor, I was sure he had high BP because of his headaches, he finally did it when he had an assessed tooth and the dentist refused to help until he got his blood pressure under control. The walk in clinic he went to, fortunately, took him on as a patient and they have a doctor who only takes care of the common ailments, BP, diabetes, cholesterol and other problems that can be p, but he calls and makes sure the patient is seen every 3 months. I am so thankful I don’t have to have that issue anymore. I also, didn’t tell him “I told you so” when I was right about him having high BP.
Heather - it’s great that they called to confirm it with you, they can’t be too careful these days I don’t imagine.
Sorry you’re missing out on time with Bea. It’s an awful feeling not being to do everything we want.
Annie - so much can get delayed when someone doesn’t have a primary care doctor. We are in desperate need of more GP’s.
I think your weight loss journey is probably much healthier and sustainable. Hers may not be.
Machka - I’m sorry you’re having issues with a work colleague. It is a terrible thing to deal with. At this point I would probably just not even bothering to correct her or anything. She’s just playing dumb and hoping to engage you in some way.
Rita - thanks for the info. I may attempt it this summer.
Sorry about your tooth.
I thought of you first thing this morning as the first teacher I had this morning lists the “national day of”… as well. She must use a different source than you as hers had spiral ham day. For attendance the students had to answer with their favourite ham style, shaved, sliced, flavoured, etc.
Lanette- I am not surprised they are now maybe rethinking carbs, look at everything else they have reversed. Eggs, natural sugar vs. substitutes, plastic vs. paper. Each generation or so seems to think they know best, but really it all seems to be a guessing game.
I need to watch your video yet, I’m only guessing what it says based on your comments.
Pip - your place is looking wonderful.
Ginny - You are correct, I am very careful on purse size and weight. I think I’m going to find something else as the purse was inconvenient today. I never used the notebook or pen, and there wasn’t really a place for me to put it in the classes.
Well my first day is in the books. School sure isn’t what I remember. It’s been a long time since I’ve been in a classroom, even the teachers are younger than my girls. 😂
I had forgotten how rude junior high students could be.
I think I’m going to enjoy it, tonight I’m not because my foot is hurting so bad, I didn’t sit all morning. I did sit some this afternoon.

Today’s gratitudes: D tried line dancing again, despite not liking country music . The porta potty at the high school playing field halfway through my after PT stroll.
Tracey the pics and the causeway story. Con very grats on completing your course with such high marks. Bravissima on your first day in class!
Lisa woo hoo for the clear view and Bravissima for the planter! What you said about Machka’s coworker sounds right. Thanks for the kidulthood link. When Joe gave me a teddy bear with “old friend” on its heart, the tears sprang up and I hugged it real hard. Now I thing of my bff whenever I see it and give it a little hug.
Michele so relieved you’re feeling better, amazing what fresh air, exercise and sunshine can do! Would a sprinkle of diatomaceous earth encourage the red ants to relocate?
Machka I really admire your adventurous attitude about jobs and STAR interviews. wow, just wow. I’m so glad I’m retired, and my last job was with the same company for 30 years. I even wrote my own performance reviews and gave them to my supervisor in advance . . . Some of your Hong Kong photos made me quite dizzy and oh nooo, sssnakessssss! I think buying socks with bees on them was the most appropriate response you could have to that woman. SMH.
Lanette shoulder MRI showed moderate tendon tear, osteoarthritis and small joint effusion and bursitis. Chiropractor calls it the trifecta. Fortunately conservative treatment (no surgery, no cortisone shots) and daily PT stretches should help.
KJ so glad to see you pop in, and congrats on the lowest weight in years. Hoping asking will get you good help/guidance.
Rita so glad to see you posting your beautiful photos again. Great ideas for Michele. Bravissima for gearing up for the DDS.
Flea ditto about the puh KAHNs and wishing someone could bring us news of @KetoneKaren.
Debbie do your neighbors’ dragonfruit plants produce fruit? I’ve never eaten it, what’s it like? So sorry about that clumsy, hurtful intern.
Ginny will be very interested to hear of your Uqora experience.
Rori and Kylia love seeing your smiling faces pop in.
Belated welcome @defiant63 Karen in BC. Did you see Lanette’s post on soleus pushups? Something that you could do seated that might help you prepare for your surgery. https://www.soleusmetabolism.org/ and https://stories.uh.edu/2022-soleus-pushup/index.html
Rusty so sorry to hear about your dad, and the leaking countertops. ((hugs))
Heather hooray for the refunds but boo to the pain, and UTI on top of everything else. Your powering through to get things done is an inspiration!
Annie The temp doctor situation is very scary, but surely an examination could reveal he’s past driving safely? So glad you enjoyed Camelot. Think your decision to hold off on the $$$$ pharmacy tech training is sound. Is your friend diabetic?
Carol ((hugs)) sad to see the places we once loved so very changed.
Sue never heard of a dental appliance tor sleep apnea. Googled it and found https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/21129-oral-appliance-therapy-for-sleep-apnea Joe would never consider a CPAP machine but might do this, if only it would help with his dry mouth. Alas that’s one of the side effects . . .
Pip that’s a lot of work! Nicely done!
Finally caught up!
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Well im awake sonce 2:30 am ..silly cat... oh well thank goodness I don't have to get up to go to work..
Will try and get some sleep in..
Nothing much new going on..same ol same ol..3 -
Good morning all.
Pip: 🥰 the garden remodel.
Machka: Great preparation for interviews. I hope you are successful. Any organisation would be lucky to get you.
Tracey: You can grow almost anything in containers. We grew potatoes in old dustbins and in canvas bags at different times. With potatoes, just put four in the bottom on compost, and cover. Water regularly, and keep adding compost to cover the plants as they grow. Plant peas in a container and use long twigs as support for them to grow up. Again, keep them watered. I hope your first day was good.
Yesterday we had several seasons within an hour. Bright sunshine, then dark clouds rolled over and we had a very heavy shower, which stopped briefly. Then we had hailstones. And finally the clouds rolled away and the sun came out, but there was a biting wind most of the day.
I’m chilling today after my hectic Monday. It’s sunny outside but April weather tends to be very unpredictable 😝
🤗🤗🤗 and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

She wants to quit working, but is afraid to, for whatever reason. That leaves her searching for a way to justify it, and using you as the ostensible reason why, so she's not just quitting for no reason. Possibly setting up an unemployment claim? She may not even know that herself. Please note that I'm not exactly an optimist where people are concerned in working situations, so you can take all that with a big, honking grain of salt.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR
I also think she does want to quit. She has missed a lot if work in the past 6 months so may be quite behind. She's supposed to run 2 working groups with meetings once a month. We have had 2 meetings in 6 months for 1 group and 0 meetings in 6 months for the other because she keeps cancelling them. I have actually forgotten what the 2nd working group was for it has been so long since we met ... might be more than 6 months.
Maybe she feels completely lost about what she is supposed to be doing that she is grasping at straws. It just dawned on me about half an hour ago that 2 items she put in that draft minute were dealt with almost a year ago. I couldn't figure out what she was talking about and then it finally came to me while I was doing a Sudoku this evening.
Who knows. But at least my manager knows what is happening and supports me.
M in Oz
This morning I edited the draft minute - added a paragraph, changed a few words here and there, and crossed out a bunch of it. And I sent it out.Early this afternoon, another member of the working group who is at a higher level than me, edited the draft minute further by crossing out a whole bunch more. She left the paragraph I added and the small sections where I had changed a few words. A 4-page draft minute was diminished to less than a page. Now it is exactly what we agreed to send to exec.
The odd work colleague didn't reply to anything today. She isn't in this week. She's rarely in ... like maybe 1 day a fortnight. I presume she works from home. Or maybe she's part-time. But I've also heard that she's often out sick or with family emergencies. I don't have much to do with her as she's in a different area.
So it was a peaceful day. I worked on a presentation I am scheduled to give next month.

Hello all,
Dragon fruit is so pretty but doesn't really taste of much to me. I would love to see it growing though. Certain fruit are so fantastic that seeing them growing does not feel real. I felt that way when I saw pineapples growing and cashews in India. So different from the vine and orchard fruits of the UK.
Have a good Monday
Rusty in Yorkshire
Yes, I found it fairly bland.
One fruit I wish we'd get down here in Tasmania is the custard apple. I liked those!

I've completely stopped getting PAP tests from my GP ... when my period stopped, so did PAPs.
But I have been going to my gynaecologic-oncologist annually. When I saw him last year, he said if I were still cancer-free this year, I wouldn't have to go back. It's been about 4 years since cancer cells were found.
