Rebecca cute hairstyle. Glad you are happy with it
My hair was starting to get long when the pandemic started and hair salons shut down. I haven't had a professional cut since. I have trimmed the ends myself a few times. I like to to tie it up in pigtails with colorful scrunched.

Interesting day. Went into town for the exam by the doc the VA contracted to look at my knees. Basically she told me my knee's torched. I knew this. She measured my scars, had me bend my knees and measured the bend, asked a few dozen questions and sent me away. We'll see how it all goes.
Exhausted is an understatement.

It harkens back to my days when I got my hair cut like Dorothy Hamill! Loved the short wedge.👍🏼😁. I am hoping it motivates me to join husband at the gym. Heck I am lighter!

Beth and Annie - I am also bouncing around the same 5lbs that is 20lbs more than the weight I lost in 2018-2019. I can’t seem to find the gumption to stick either.
Rebecca - cute haircut!
Michele - Here we get a clearance for free for volunteering or going to school. I am surprised that this hasn’t been enforced long before now. You can’t do anything working with children here without one, I even had to have a check to verify that no child ever in my care had to be checked up on with CPS to do my practicum.
I am very late reading today and I have been invited to a staff meeting tomorrow morning. It’s not mandatory, but I was welcome to come so thought it would look good if I did.
I handled one of the kids in the terrible class today by taking her desk away. It actually calmed some of the others down because they don’t know what I’m going to do. Today felt like a win!
Well off to bed.

Hi all
Friday morning here in Yorkshire and that's my weigh in day and my total loss since 8th April is 5kg (11lb) I am pretty pleased with that but still a long way to go.
I was supposed to have groceries delivered this morning but despite the website saying they have been delivered they have not and I am cross. I had meal planned this weekend and now will need to go shopping myself.
On a brighter note we are going to see Wicked this weekend and I am really looking forward to it4 -
Good morning ladies!
I'm feeling sick today.

I loved her hair! Had mine cut like it when I first went in the Air Force. Had to either wear it up or short enough to not touch my collar. Sorry I've been MIA on Words With Friends, just spaced it in the ongoing medica-lalapalooza. Caught up to ya this morning.
Speaking of which, am downing my one cup of joe, catching up with y'all and then out the door for the infusion at the big hospital in town. Well, second-biggest. I figger they try harder! 😀👀😁 Old joke for those who remember the marketing campaign for the rental car company, "Avis, we're number two so we try harder." The jokes were... innumerable. 💩

Tracey when I was teaching and I had to do something like that I would say I am putting your desk in time out! I learned that from a special Ed teacher. It does catch them off guard. I found it worked better in some situations rather than giving the student a stop and think time.
I also learned the best way was to do it calmly and say I was putting it in time out with a calm yet firm voice.3 -
Photography ...
Not long after I got to Australia, I bought a Canon EOS 60D. A few years later, I took a course on how to use it. Then I started participating in online photography contests ... weekly ones. Occasionally (not often) I even won!
I love it! But I haven't done much with it recently.
A few photos ... when I've been making an effort ...
With the pink roses, I was lying on my back on the sidewalk taking pictures because I had a perfectly cloudy day to provide me with the white background.

Good morning, Friends!
It’s 70 and sunny here in Jacksonville, Florida, but we are headed up to near 90 and will get past 90 the next few days.
Rebecca: Nice cut! I like short hair on everyone but me. Long story, but I like my hair longer. I cut it myself about every three months. Now and then I’ve messed up and had to get it professionally fixed, but for the most part, I have it figured out.
Allie: My son bought a tower laser for our cats. Turn it on and it spins a laser light in circles at different speeds and directions. Cats love it!
Michele: I had to do go through a background check to chaperone field trips when my son was in 9th grade. It was a Christian school and several of us moms thought it was ridiculous. We’d been chaperoning since the kids were in Kindergarten. Then one parent failed… and we stopped complaining. Maybe the church can split costs or help out for those who would like to volunteer but can’t afford the check?
Pipcd34: I’ve been trying to figure out what the numbers you post are, but I don’t have a clue. What are they?
Barbie in NW WA: I love the pig tails! I do that sometimes with my hair if I can get the part relatively straight in the back.
Machka: When I was fencing with long hair, I would put it in a pony tail that would slip above the strap of the fencing mask. Then I’d put a kerchief over my head to keep any strays from slipping around and catch sweat before it dripped into my eyes.
Beautiful photos! I’m really trying to get the hang of manual settings, but it’s so easy to switch to auto! Especially when I’m trying to photograph the dogs. They don’t have the patience for me to dial in settings. LOL
RustyBFF: Congrats on the 5kg! You should be pleased. Enjoy Wicked!
Annie in Delware: Hope you feel better soon.
Whibdey, WA: I remember Dorothy Hamill’s haircut and how it would fly up when she did spins. I had another iconic short style in high school… a Lady Di!
As for me, I’m down to 180.9, so that is just about 5 pounds since March 26. Considering I was on vacation and haven’t worked out this week due to being busy with other stuff, so I'm happy with that.
This morning, I noticed two monarch caterpillars munching away on a milkweed plant! Might have to get a few more of those. I wasn't sure they would find it, but they did!
Make it a great day,

Both had surgery and radiation. Grandmother sailed right through it and lived a healthy life with a sharp brain for 7 more years until she suffered a stroke at 92. My mom, who was already starting down the road to dementia, complained of abdominal pain in the ensuing years. I have a hunch it was due to the effects of the radiation or adhesions from the surgery.
As far as I know, PAP smears are not generally used for endometrial cancer detection as they are geared toward cervical cancer, but it's up to us and our doctors to determine if these tests are useful after age 65. We are all different and looks like continuation of PAP smears is advisable in some cases.

Bleeding was my main symptom. I was still having my period, but my periods went from being relatively normal (7 days long, about every 4 weeks, and occasionally bleeding for a few days at about the 2-week point) to bleeding about 3 weeks out of 4. It gradually got worse and worse over several years, and finally I went to my doctor out of frustration. I couldn't go anywhere without bringing supplies because I never knew if I was going to have a fortunate "dry" day or not.
My doctor was in contact with a gynaecologist while I was still right there in the office. The gynaecologist squeezed me into an appointment on December 23, and I was in surgery in early January 2015.
A large pre-cancerous polyp was removed and I started going for regular internal ultrasounds, about every 6 months or so. But fortunately, my periods became really odd (for me) ... 5 days, every 4 weeks, with no spotting or extra bleeding or anything!! I could hardly believe it!
Two years later, it started again. I went for an internal ultrasound, a biopsy, and then found myself in the office of a great gynaecologic-oncologist. I had cancer. A few weeks later, I had surgery again. That helped immensely although he was still finding a few cancer cells as recently as late 2019.
So I have been warned ... if bleeding starts up again, it's probably cancer again, and I've got to take action right away.

Machka ... you are very talented with the camera!
Rebecca ... I like your new haircut!
Michele ... I'm surprised your church hasn't done background checks before now ... they really are standard protocol in today's world. Sadly necessary.
Annie ... hope you feel better.
Lisa ... I find anything medically related exhausting. Hope today is a good day!
Met with my doctor yesterday. While I haven't received the results of the ECG yet (other than it was "accepted"), all my other testing has been fine. The doctor thought it was stress induced. She did laugh heartily when I told her that anyone who has driven by me on the I-90 has probably wondered why a woman was grabbing her left breast. I keep trying to pinpoint the exact location of the "twinge." I did sleep better last night and I'm going to focus on other things moving forward.

Even though I don't actually work with children, I work with data that could include children's data ... my whole office does. When it was decided we needed the background checks and the official cards etc., I had no problem at all with getting mine. I'd already been through much of that when I moved to Australia and when I started getting my final qualifications to teach.
But I did have to wonder a little about the few people who were reluctant.
And then a huge, nasty incident blew up in a hospital in the northern part of the state. The paedophile worked as a nurse for a number of years in a children's ward. Eventually people got suspicious, investigations started, and he killed himself. But there has still been quite a thorough and lengthy investigation of the whole situation which was just horrible ... heart breaking.
Fortunately now, if you want to work with anything even remotely related to children, you must go through the checking process.

The jacket they gave me had a lot of velcro in the back. First I tried a long single braid, but it got caught in the velcro. Then I tried a ponytail, but the helmet didn't fit right.
Finally I went with the two braids.

Worked from home and got quite a bit done.
Felt so tired at lunchtime ... I took a nap!! Normally, I go out for a walk but not this time. I get this way for a couple days after dental work.
Went to a Candlelight Concert this evening with my husband. That was nice.
Then came home, changed into my pyjamas, and watched the 2nd Best Marigold Hotel.
Not a bad day!

Terri--Happy Birthday, hope your family celebration goes well.
Rita--Enjoying the story already. thank you.
Rebecca--Love the new hair cut, you look very nice.
Pip--Your entryway looks really nice.
Both DH and I had background checks done several years ago for our CMA group. Since we paid for it I have kept a copy to have if we need it.
Machka--Beautiful pictures.
Been a very stressful couple days. Yesterday I came into work and the night person was still here. The day person was a no show. I did finally get a hold of her and she stated she was not feeling well. I let her know she needs to call me and not just not show up. So I ended up working 12 hours by myself. So I did not take my water pills and today I am paying for it. I gained over 5 pounds and spending a lot of time today in the bathroom. Glad it is Friday and I am off the weekend. Only plans beside church is family pictures with our oldest DS and his family and grandchildren. They have been planning this for over a year and something comes up. So this time they have picked the date and time and who ever shows up fine. I just want it over at this point.

Have fun with this…… I am!!!!

My UTI came back today, and I started to get worried about this coming weekend. I had just got a new batch of test strips, so gave it a go. V high leukocytes and SG. Rang the doctor, who got back to me quickly and left a prescription at the pharmacy. This time it's for 7 days, as the one last week was only for 3 days and I had a feeling it hadn't quite gone. I hope this sorts it out, as they won't do my operation if I have an infection.
Relieved to have got it sorted. As John is at cricket, I had to hobble up there myself, with my cane. I hardly know which pain is which!
My new wok burner arrived this afternoon! I was delighted to find it fitted perfectly, so now I have four working burners again. I do use the wok on it, but it's just a very fast burner. The old one had distorted and was dangerous. It wasn't cheap, so I was a bit nervous about it.
I've been carrying on with my upholstery blitz. Today washed my sofa back cushions and the other cushion covers. I threw away two saggy, leaking, feather cushions into the bin, and I've ordered four new pads. I hope that will make them look better. I quite like my covers, but the next step will be to replace John's. At the moment I will just transfer them, as they've been washed today. They're not awful, just old and dull. John can't understand my interest in cushions, (pillows in the US) so I am proceeding slowly.
The liquid I cleaned the very dirty sofa arm with has made it worse, so I will have a go with a different product when he goes to cricket on Sunday. I really don't like the smell of the one I was using. My sofa is cream, so the spring sunshine is rather shocking!
Tandoori chicken for dinner with lots of salad and some yoghurt. John can have his when he gets back.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

I have been retired from teaching in the public schools for nearly 20 years and things have changed in the world since then. What I remember is that we tried to take field trips using parent volunteers to drive instead of paying for bus transportation (very expensive with fuel and salary costs) and found it difficult or impossible in my school which had a low income family base. The high requirement for auto insurance including high liability was way above what our families had as they could afford only the minimum. Also, I remember that one teacher who was also a minister in a very traditional religion would not allow parent volunteers in his classroom if he knew the parents in the home weren't married to each other.
My neighborhood is filled with tulips. My morning walks are beautiful.

Nice! I have had shoulder or short hair for the most part, all of my life. My Mom cut my hair in a pixie because it was just easier I suppose. If I did have it past my shoulders a bit, it was 99% up in a hair tie, and my scalp would be so sore and achy. In general I don't have the patience for long hair. Today I woke up and the top of my hair was sticking straight up like an 80' punk singer! I threw some water on it and ran fingers through it and it was great. That's the style I can get behind.😂
I do commend those that have long hair though!👍🏼💖
Well today I donate blood. I don't wanna but sometimes we do things just because we have to.👍🏼

Rusty -great job on the weight loss. Sorry the grocery delivery was messed up. I wonder who received the groceries or maybe they didn't even send them out from the store?
Annie - hope you feel better soon. Tummy or cold/flu symptoms?
Rebecca - cute haircut, looks easy to maintain.
Machka - glad your cancer was caught early and it's under watch. I checked with my sister yesterday, she said neither our mom or grandmother had surgery for their endometrial cancers which came on in their mid-80's, only radiation. That was 45 years ago for grandmother, 25 years ago for mom. Treatments are likely much different these days.
