4/20: 113.4 I had salty takeout last night, but also got in a workout before bed. I had a non-scale victory yesterday putting on a pair of pants that just a couple months ago I was spilling out of and yesterday they fit perfectly again with a few fingers of give in the waist! I noticed that I've been feeling more comfortable in outfits and not constantly readjusting to hide myself. I'll still have to work hard to meet my goals, but it feels really good to feel a little more like myself again!

04/19-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- So I am relieved to say that I’ve β€œpassed the test” so far. Doctor said if there was a 2% or better change in the mammogram findings I would have to come back for a biopsy. I was 1.4% so I’m in the clear for now. However, they will do another diagnostic mammogram (not a screening mammogram) again in 6 months to continue to monitor. I am so completely grateful and feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of me. Except in the hip area. They feel squishy and more β€œbloated”. A few more days of no weighing for me as I let all the travels melt off me. Oh, wouldn’t it be nice if it were that easy? Thanks again everyone for your kind words of encouragement and your prayers.

04/20-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- I babysat yesterday. It was a teacher day so there was no school. My meals were okay for the day but my night time snacks were a bit questionable. I need to start incorporating some exercise back in without too much stress on my foot. I’ll work on that today. I got a little over 6 hours of sleep last night which is way above my norm although I always have frequent bathroom trips. That’s one of the most frustrating part of diabetes. However, I still feel rested and ready to have a good day. We had snow this morning. It’s bleak and cold but with no workers here and (I presume) no babysitting today, it is peaceful and quiet.

Hello I'm Darlene. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I have been on this weight loss journey since January 2023. I found MFP in March, and this group in April. This challenge is the first I signed up for on MFP, so it holds a very special place in my heart. πŸ’– This month is a year with some of these amazing people. πŸ’– I am so thankful for their support and accountability.

    My Goals for April

βš–οΈ Lose 2% of my body weight - changing my goal this month, my 4 pounds per month is getting really difficult now that I almost to my goal weight - but still am going to try to get that 4 pounds!
πŸ‘£ Average 17k Steps Daily with one day of rest
    πŸ“ Log Daily
πŸ₯— Stay under my calorie range
πŸ’ͺ Strength Train 3 days per week
πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ Tai Chi or Yoga 1 day per week
πŸ«€ Aerobics 3 days per week
    πŸ’¦ 6+ glasses of water
πŸ“– Putting this one back in there - read almost every day
πŸ§‚Stay Under 2400 mg of sodium daily

    πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ πŸ«€πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚

    Highest Weight 228

    SW Dec: 228 | Jan: 217 | Feb: 212 | Mar: 207.6 | Apr 200.2 | May 194.8 | Jun: 189.6 | Jul: 187.4 | Aug: 179.8 | Sept: 174.2 | Oct: 169.6 | Nov 164.6 | Dec 164 | Jan 159.8 | Feb 156.8 | Mar 152.8

    April Starting Weight: 152.8

    🌈April 🌈🌷
b]April 1: 152.8 [/b]πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ«€πŸ’¦πŸ“– I love the beginning of a new month. Feels like a fresh new start; a clean slate. I have noticed a pattern in my weight loss. I do fantastic the first week of every month, then I kind of get lazy and for two weeks and the weight loss slows. Then I see the end of the month coming; and Yikes - only one week to finish my goals. I usually finish out the month strong. This month I'm hoping to skip that laziness in the middle of the month. Keep me to it!

April 2: 152.4 πŸ˜πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ“–πŸ§‚ I added a new goal to my monthly, I will post whether I was under my daily sodium goal. It has huge affect on my daily weight flucuations, so if I am accountable for it, maybe I won't abuse it so much. Had a good night with Mom at bingo, she won (always a good thing), and I won twice last night. Had a brownie - put me over my calorie limit.
    [/quote]

April 3: 151.6 πŸ˜πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ«€πŸ’¦ πŸ§‚ Silly me, I looked back at my entries - they should have been 152.x not 154.x. I guess I was stuck in that 154 range for so long last month it just got stuck in my brain. I fixed them. Dentist appointment this morning - not my favorite.

April 4: 151.6 151.6 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ“–πŸ§‚ Busy day ahead today. We have to bring the car in for it's oil change. Then off to Sams Club for shopping. Then the grocery store to pick up all that we need for our Easter celebration this weekend. It's going to be rainy (and snow) day today, so inside walks and a HIIT workout are on the schedule. Then tonight going to a fundraiser for the Women's club/Firehouse. Hoping I won't binge too much.

April 5: 152.2 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ«€πŸ’¦ It's what I expected, had a little too much fun last night and the salt gets me everytime. I estimated and logged what I think I had - and MFP says I am under my calorie goal, but I'm not counting it as completed. I did manage to meet my exercise goals yesterday. Today's goal - get my outside walk (it's blue sky today), then some strength training, and a little treadmill tonight. I made a vow that I wouldn't watch any of "my" shows unless I was on the treadmill. I'm binge watching Jane the Virgin, and I have an episode of Ghosts that are calling my name.

April 6: 153 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ’ͺ πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ πŸ’¦πŸ“– I had a little set back yesterday - I think the thought of Easter preparations, and the small trip for two days led me to self sabatoge. Over on my calories, and sodium - not a good combination. I did track it though.

April 7: 153.4 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ«€πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚ Not the right direction, but I will get back there. I'll be away for the next couple days and then giving myself a couple days to get rid of the excess vacatioin weight before I weigh in (don't want to know). Celebrating Easter with family today - then off until Tuesday night. See you beautiful people when I return!

April 8: DNW πŸ“– Only goal I met was logging. Estimated serving sizes and picked the best option I could find for the things I didn't make.

April 9: DNW πŸ“ πŸ’¦πŸ“– Away - drank a lot of water, read a lot in the car, logged (estimations again).

April 10: 153.4 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚Well that was a pleasant surprise this morning. I expected to be up from before I left - but I was SO careful yesterday. Still way up from my lowwest 151.6 - now it is time to get serious for the remainder of the month. For now - the only obstacle I see is me.

April 10: 152.8 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚Another day on plan - creeping back. I really want to get out of this decade this month. I have been here for 3 months already. It's time!

April 11: 152.2 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ πŸ’¦πŸ“– Pretty good day, met most of my goals. I did go over the sodium limit, but only by a smidge.

April 12: 151.6 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ«€ πŸ’¦πŸ“– Going for our monthly visit to Greg's cousin. Will be away most of the day and lunch with her. I'll be careful. I worked too hard this week to get back to this number to give it up now.

April 13: 151.6 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ“– Nice visit with Greg's cousin yesterday. Today another busy day - going to see The Mystery of Edwin Drood at the Goodspeed. We are lucky to live just 20 minutes from the play house and go to most of the shows. It is the where some pretty famous musicals got their start (Annie, Man of La Mancha, and Shenandoah) and has sent 21 productions to broadway. It's a small theater and every seat is wonderful; but our favorite is down by the orchestra. We will be going out to lunch beforehand - again hoping to be careful.

April 14: 152.4 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ«€ πŸ’¦πŸ“– Had a wonderful time yesterday. The play was very enjoyable. The Mystery of Edwin Drood is a musical based off the unfinished novel of Charles Dickens. The show has multiple endings determined by the audience to determine who was the murderer and to determine which members get a happy ending. We were in the front row, - so when Princess Puffer (the prostitute) does her scene she harassess a member of the audience - she chose Greg which was kind of funny. Then they chose Allyson to help tally the votes to determine the murderer. Food wise - I made a good choice for lunch - but had a drink and dessert. I did have a very light breakfast and dinner and I logged the best I could - but always choose the most calorie option when I estimate. And was over my calorie limit a bit (and of course the salt). Tonight is Bingo night with Mom - missed it last week because we were away for the Eclipse. Will skip the junk food tonight at the table - can't have three days in a row off plan.

April 15: 151.8 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚Half the month gone and going nowhere! I am determined to finish this month strong.

April 16: 152.4 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯—πŸ«€πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ πŸ’¦πŸ“– Well that isn't in the right direction. I worked my butt off yesterday - not only did I get all my exercise goals completed, I worked in the garden shoveling dirt and raking. Probably the sodium slip? But still determined to finish strong this month.

April 17: 151.6 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ§‚ Swish! It's about time. Worked really hard in the garden again. Accomplished most of my goals. Rainy day here today, so inside work today - the house needs cleaning.

April 18: 151 😁 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯—πŸ«€πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚A smile; it's been a long time since I gave myself one of those. Finally made it through this tough spot. I added intermittent fasting back into my day, in my sodium range, and left 75% of my active calories on the table. This is my new formula. And I met this goal yesterday!
    lobl94x2gg87.png

April 19: 150.6 😁 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ“–πŸ§‚ Burning alot of calories working on the new garden bed; almost finished. We are dumping all the old dirt from our container garden into the new bed, then using the new dirt in the containers. Have another 15 containers to dump.

April 20: 150.6😁 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ«€ πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚ Went a little over on my calories yesterday - but way under for the week. Finished the garden bed - today Greg is taking down a tree that we noticed has a huge crack in the bottom - afraid it will fall on the house. So clean up the mess from a fallen tree is on the agenda.

Hi to everyone. I'm Jen from Florida, 40 years old, mom of 3 children and 4 dogs. I love everyone's posts... Very inspiring. I'm coming in late for April, but re-started my journey today. So accountability is always good.

@judefit1 Sorry I just noticed that you got to your goal weight; good for you! Now what - are you going to continue to lose - or are you going to try to maintain?

    v3bfkjq8amq0.gif

@ATnowornever You made your monthly goal - already - Just Fantastic! Let that motivate you to continue (sometime I self sabatoge when I meet my goals).

@TheRusticRebel Welcome to the group. Just keep coming everyday regardless of what the scale says and I'm sure that you will see success.

Thank you @iLive2Walk ! I was beating myself up over the yoyo weight loss, but you might be on to something with the self sabotage. Why though? I felt so good losing weight, why would I jeopardize that? Weird...

4/21: 114.0 A little bump, but not thrilled. Heading out soon to get my fruits and veggies for the week. I think I discovered that I experience non-diabetic reactive hypoglycemia, which I did not know was a thing and often has no underlying cause! I was so excited for my protein pancakes/eggs/bacon breakfast and I crashed SO hard after I had to lay down for hours and chug orange juice. The last time I had that same breakfast I felt awful too so it's good to know what was happening. No more carb-y breakfasts for me!

Please let this be water weight.
Prepped a bunch of good filling foods this weekend. So I have stuff I can just grab ( that isn't junk) . I'm pretty busy ans on the go through the week so I don't always have time to prepare something and usually grab chips or fast food when I'm out.

@iLive2Walk sounds like you're getting a good workout in prepping your garden for the season. I'm itching to get started on mine too, but we're still getting frost, and temps in the low 30's at night. :(
