Yes I have to accept the things I can't change..and just let God take over..Tom should be home today..he has been gone nearly a month..and I think he enjoys not being tied down to a pet..
Im sure he misses Alfie and will come get him this weekend or early next week.
Have to slow down on feeding the cat..she is getting chunky lol ,don't want her ending up looking like Garfield
One of our 8 looks JUST like Garfield except just a bit lighter in color(and a girl). She rarely eats the canned food but we see her often in the middle of the night eating dry food in the catio.
I don't have any good pictures of Tonashi that I can find(there is a great one but can't find it on FB right now-she is NOT photogenic at all-so much prettier in real life)
second picture is Tonashi with her brother Miso. He is short haired and she is very long haired. Mom was pure white long hair. She came, had her kittens in our yard and then left them there. Haven't seen her since.
Here is the picture I was looking for-

Afternoon ladies
This morning was a wash.. awake at 4 and then back asleep for a bit, then awake for an hour or 2 and slept till noon.
Tracy has her evaluation on May 8th and of course that's when I'll be at the Cape, asked if she wanted me to cancel and she said no.. she will be going for an ultrasound,an MRI and to see a cardiologist and then all the drs will get together with Tracy and Kyle to come up with a plan.
It is just so heartwrenching.8 -
Had a nice walk at the wetlands yesterday- first babies of the season were out. A family of swans- couldn't see how many babies. They were in the middle of the pond, snuggled between the parents.
I had hoped to see them better today but won't be walking.
Ezie's step-grandpa told me as he picked her up yesterday evening that she doesn't have school today-
I didn't have it on my calendar because it said it was a possible day off if they didn't use it during the fall/winter("flood day"-we don't get snow days here). So, I have her all day today.
Have a lot to get done. We have a show tomorrow. Just a small one but still need to get things organized. Taking everything beings we don't know if things will sell and what will sell. We are driving my car so we can take as much as we want. Usually the guys ride together so dh takes only the basics because his friend has a lot and he drives. Lodi is next month and we will drive to that one too. This will only be my second show helping out. They are all one day shows. 6 hrs for Vacaville, 5 hrs for Lodi, not sure on Antioch the following month. This one tomorrow is just to help a friend out-needed extra vendors(not charging us anything for the booth and putting us inside the hanger(in the NutTree airport)
Hope to work in the garden on Sunday- need to get some major weeding done so I can start planting.

Heather - there beside you in spirit. Five weeks is not forever, but I'm sure there are days when it feels like it is.
Well, I was planning on yoga - but I've not been able to stay out of the bathroom for more than a few minutes in the last four hours. These days are happening less frequently, but they are... debilitating when they do. I've seriously gone back to the bathroom twice since I began this post. I'm so glad they're not every day now, or even every week in the recent few months, but they bring the unwelcome reminder that I'm not well yet. Have taken the pain medication a bit early, hopefully get back in front of this wave.
Dark days don't help - the skies have brightened through the rain drops just a little here at the noon hour, but the heavier rain will be back in a few hours.
Hope your day's going better than mine, sorry for the whine,
Love y'all,

Hello Ladies!
We are back from our weekend, on which both of us got sick. We managed to keep it at bay until we got home. I spent all day Sunday in bed. I didn’t even have the energy to warm up soup. It’s rare that I get sick, so this really stunk. One of the mister’s colleagues went to the office and coughed all over everyone. I’m really shocked that I got sick. He mister had COVID and I didn’t get that. This appears to just be a wicked cold. I’m still coughing, but it’s better every day. The mister does not seem to be improving. He’s going on sick for 2 weeks.
The trip was nice. We went to the Santa Ynez Valley. There is a Danish village called Solvang. It was not busy. We lucked out. It’s usually packed with tourists. We did some wine tasting (discovered we are not fans of the wines in the area) and hiking. The wildflowers are nearly at peak bloom and we’re gorgeous!
Spent the week in recovery, but managed to get a haircut. Today, I’ll run some errands and maybe go to the zoo for a bit. It’s cool and gloomy, so the animals might be out.
Michele-I’m also surprised you haven’t had to get a background check yet. If the church wants volunteers, they’ll likely find a way to pay the fee. Pedophiles lurk in seemingly innocent human-looking vessels all the time.
Rebecca-Yes. You look like Tyne Daly. Great haircut.
Tracey-The book is “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.” There’s a movie. I’m going to read it again before the trip.
I’ll have to catch up later.
Tina in CA
I love Solvang. We stopped there on our first real family vacation. We stopped on the way home from a week stay in Lake Elsinore and doing all the touristy things(Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farms, San Deigo Wildlife Park). It is so fun to walk around. It was so pretty with all the flowers.

Worked then put down top soil. See, we had some left over from last year and I really want to get it down before lots of weeds grow on it because I know who’ll wind up having to cut those weeds down. Same person who had to cut the weeds off the pile of dirt they left after putting in the pool. Shoveled some in different places. Vince is really tired so I told him that I’d shovel tomorrow and he can just smooth out the dirt because I really want to get that dirt taken care of. I’ll shovel, that I don’t mind. Update: got my car, Vince's back is bothering him and since it's misting out, decided not to do the dirt. Hopefully, we can tomorrow or Sunday (I have to lector tomorrow)
Tracey – thanks for telling me about the “numbering” system. Makes sense. I’m enjoying the story, too, but, same here, unimaginative me.
Thurs here: worked then picked up my car. On the way home stopped at Food Lion to get Vince’s soda that’s on sale. Went for a walk around the neighborhood. It’s misting out so I took an umbrella with me.
Annie – Lisa is right, exercise does a lot for us. I really like taking a walk because I feel so much better. I get depressed if it’s raining out and I can’t go for a walk
We’re having our “end of season” bowling party Mon and I was going to bring cheese & crackers. Well, I was talking to one gal at the soup kitchen today who said that she was bringing cheese & crackers. Seems about 4 others are also. So I decided to bring a mac & cheese casserole. We’re also having a party at ceramics Tues to celebrate the birthdays in the month of April and I was going to bring a mac & cheese casserole there. Looks like I’ll be making two!
Tina – hope you and your hubby feel better fast. I remember a while ago the church had something in their bulletin about getting a background check, but I suspect not many people did.
Deb – we’ve read that orange cats are the friendliest. The orange cats we had were very friendly. After we go to Steve’s for his cookout in the beginning of June, we’ll probably look for 3 male orange cats. Who knows what we’ll end up with, tho???
Guess I’d better post this.

Both of our orange/apricot cats are super friendly. The brother is the one who had all those seizures. He isn't the prettiest cat(sister is for sure) but he has the best personality- Very loving.
All but one love attention (she was son's girlfriend's cat and was never really socialized. She is doing better and we can pet her a bit more now than we used to).
We have never gone out of our way to FIND cats. Every single one- all 11 inside cats(two have passed away now and the one who snuck out never came back),plus we now have four, that we have seen, neighborhood cats/strays that eat here at least twice a day- All found us.3 -

Good morning, my chickens, from the pre-dawn darkness of the soggy Arkansas River Valley,
Up far too early this morning, but slept very well, and feel ten times better than yesterday. Doesn't hurt that I have a sleepy Egg on my lap, purring madly, eyes tight shut, hoping I'll quit typing soon. Yeah, there she goes... Ah well.
After I launched my whine to y'all yesterday, things did straighten up quite a bit. A few more visits to the littlest room, and my gut finally stopped. I was able to at least get back to the quilt, and make a little progress. Then Corey made shrimp and grits (I made the grits) for dinner for me. My day ended up a whole lot better than it had started. He made "skillet chili" for himself, so he was happy, too.
Rain predicted on and off all day today and tomorrow, but there are worse things than working inside. Unfortunately, if the weather wigglies are right, it will also be raining most of the time my friend is here--she and her husband will get here Thursday, and stay 7 to 8 days. Hopefully the weather wienies will be wrong once more. They're definitely not good at predicting anything more a week out. Not going to worry about it - sweating what the weather will be is probably the definition of a waste of energy.
The sky is just beginning to lighten up now. Time to get some laundry folded, and once Cor's awake, I'll get some coffee to him. I love helping him really enjoy his weekend mornings, where he can loll in bed, explore all his little pig trails around the Internet on his laptop and just relax in his happy place. He does so much for me (like shrimp and grits), and being able to give that back makes me happy.
Hope it is or was a lovely, peaceful day for everyone.
Love,

Good morning ladies!
Thank you Lisa and Michele. I have been feeling down lately. I never signed up for that pharmacy technician class, and now I'm spending more time driving dad around. I might have missed my window of opportunity. I keep thinking about my trip in October and wondering if that will get cancelled too. Well, this phase won't last forever.
I know I really need to get back on my bike. I stopped when I was sick. Maybe later today.
I went out to eat with my dad last night. I had a burger loaded with extras, enough calories to make me feel sick. At least I don't do that very often. It was a learning experience.
The electrician came yesterday, so the garage fridge is working again and that is taken care of. There was an old GFCI thingie that tripped and needed replacement. We bought a whole house surge protector too. So the house is safe again.
Today I need to trim a mat from Teddy's paw. He won't like it. And pick up some things, and maybe do some laundry. And maybe figure out how to get rid of the basement fridge.
So have a marvelous day ladies! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Cutting weeds doesn't help. You've got to pull them out roots and all. It's very satisfying to do that.

Time for a visit with the doctor to see if he's got bronchitis or a sinus infection?

I know you have to be around your father a lot, but if you can be out for a while now and then, what about getting a part-time job in a pharmacy? In the small pharmacies here, the cashiers also take the prescriptions and pass them along to the pharmacist. You might be able to learn a bit on the job. Then, if you still want to take the course, you will already know some of the terminology.

My old earbuds didn't fit my ears well, fell out, and kept their charge for no time at all. If I wasn't going out of the house, it was more trouble than not, to use them. Basically, they were a pain.
I'm someone who is used to soldiering on with sub-par things, blaming myself for their poor performance. I also don't like spending money that I don't need to. But, I'm changing. If something is irritating me, then I feel more empowered to change it. So I reluctantly, guiltily, looked for new earbuds and was amazed to see how cheap they were! The price of a takeaway pizza!
Mine arrived yesterday evening. All charged up and ready to go. Oh my! I hadn't realised how bad the sound quality was on my, more expensive, old ones. These opened up a whole new world. I truly was stunned and couldn't stop listening.
I still haven't mastered the tapping business, but I can practice.
They are cheap. They probably won't last long. But, for now, I'm happy.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx
I tend to find something that's not working as well as I would like, and I think to myself, "It's 2024 ... they've got to have invented something better than this by now! And usually they have.

We took another load to the house today. We're trying to get all the garden stuff over there, and will work on setting some of that up.
We're also trying to get quite a bit of the kitchen and bathroom stuff over there. We're leaving the bathroom floors and paint colours as they are. And we're leaving the kitchen cupboards alone so stuff can go in there.
Some stuff is temporarily going onto the upper shelf of the built in robes.
Then we dressed up and went to the symphony.

On a gray rainy day went to Art in Bloom with my friend Jane. We had a wonderful time. I will be posting more over the next few days.

This is the painting that was the theme of Art in Bloom. It is about balance...This painting inspired the floral arrangement Jane and I are standing in front of. There were numerous interpretations throughout the exhibit. One of my favorite activities for the year.<img src="https://scontent-msp1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/439935908_2231151050558027_6277686198522715538_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s640x640&_nc_cat=111&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=5f2048&_nc_ohc=axR1hFu_FMIQ7kNvgGHavMn&_nc_ht=scontent-msp1-1.xx&oh=00_AfAgGXHChtAoeEGQgZIGN1YrNloovpTn4Ga_H_OYS5BliA&oe=6632CB8E" alt="May be art of text"/>
When they sent me a postcard of a portion of the painting I did my own pictures using the original to practice some of the techniques!
