5.3 mile run w/ my buddies at 5AM this morning. Just basically a recovery run for me this morning. Felt good, surprisingly legs weren't sore from speedwork and biking y'day!

Back & Biceps w/ my hubby tonight!

I tried to get up at 5:30 this morning to run on the treadmill. That was the plan, because I am playing basketball after work. However, I have been having trouble going to sleep at night so the 5:30 thing was a no-go for me today.

BUT! There is a but....I am playing basketball this evening, THEN I will be running. I hope I can run outside before the sun goes down because the weather is amazing today. If not, I'll be on the tread. I'm going to do at least 3 miles.
  • I would like to join! Ran a little over three miles this morning! I want to increase my distance but that means getting up earlier! TOmmorow I am going to try and do 3 and a half miles and get up at 5:30 instead of 5:40!

Training for 1/2 Marathon in OKC at the end of April -- ran 5 this morning on treadmill. Seems a lot longer run when running inside v. outside. Yesterday's run went by in no time. Great start to a great day. Enjoy.
  • Is anyone doing the Bridge Run in Charleston on April 4th?

Ran 6 yesterday and gearing up for a 7 mile tempo run, as soon as my iPod is done charging! Legs are feeling tired after yesterday's run and 2-1/2 hour hike. I'll let you know how I do!

OK, so it wasn't pretty, but I got through my tempo run today.

    1 mile warm-up
    5 miles @ 8:10 pace
    1 mile cool-down

It was just one of those days where I couldn't get into a rhythm. My breathing was screwy, my arms were tight and feeling like they were out of synch with my legs. Weird. Anyone else have those days?

Heading to the gym tonight for some lifting.

Hope everyone is having a good one today!

No running for me today. Woke up with a migraine. Struggled through my push-ups and level 2 of Jillian's 30 day Shred.

I'd love to join your group. I've just started running again now that the weather is cooperating a little. I went three miles the other day. I am in a 5 mile race the first Sunday in April, but am looking for a 1/2 to do this spring/summer.

    Marcia.

(also called an Indian run/fartlek run)

you run in a line with a group of people, and take turns (starting with the person in the back) to sprint to the front. it's a pretty good workout, kicked my butt.

That sounds fun. Am I demented??

Did interval walk/running today on my normal 2 mi route.
Shaved 4 min off my total time. Kinda stressed right now, burned those frustrations.
Also burned an extra 50 calories today.

5 miles on the tread, probably could have done more, but my knee (IT band) started to hurt a little and I didn't want to push it too much.

For me it was one of those days that everything felt right. I love those days! and watching a movie with closed caption while listening to my ipod really helps time go by on the treadmill.

Thanks - I'm just very sensitive to changes in atmosphere (if that sounds possible) - I always know when a low is over our area. Found a run to do in my old town in a few weeks so I'm going to have to gear up for a 10K.

Oh! I used to do those back in my field hockey days. That *does* kick your butt!

Yup, I have migraines with changes in barometric pressure (when fronts come in or out of the area). Amazing what our bodies do, isn't it?

Hi-- can I join? Quick history-- I overcame my family's (the family into which I was born, not the one I'm raising ) legendary loathing of exercise in general and running specifically back in 2005 and began running with my husband and loved it. Injuries sidelined me in 2006 and it never got back to being a vital part of my exercise repertoire.

I'll keep this long story short-- I remembered the better shape my ab area was in when I was running, and the mental benefits of that time running, lost in my own thoughts, with no one but me encouraging me to keep going when I feel like quitting-- total man versus himself conflict-- I love it.

I've been running on and off for a couple months, but decided to make this a priority. I ran 3 miles the other day, two yesterday since I rather have a cold-- and I intend to go for my first 5k in April-- go me. Ha.

Yep, I am the same way and so is my Mom. I'm very sensitive to weather changes. Yuck!

Good for you!! I overcame the loathing of running (couldn't run a mile in high school) about 4 years ago and have loved it ever since! Good luck on your 5K! :flowerforyou:
