04/27--DNW- Yesterday both started and ended badly. I began an aerobic exercise in the morning and 10 minutes in I got something in my foot. The opposite foot I’m already having such trouble with. I couldn’t apply pressure on it so I had to stop the exercising and begin digging in with a needle. As a diabetic I, of course, tried to be as mindful as possible. Eating was off-kilter all day too. I ended up making dinner for DS, DD, and DGS. Why I chose high sodium Mexican food I don’t know. Maybe because it was quick and easy. This is not the way to turn my ship around. I just felt like I hit brick walls at every turn yesterday. Today I travel to go pick up our eyeglasses. Lunch will be out, dinner will be at home. I will do some shopping while in the city. I will focus on bringing home the healthy foods that help me accomplish all that I need to do.

04/28β€”DNW- I thought I would be home from out-of-town yesterday in late afternoon but I ended up traveling a little further to see two of my DGC a little further south. I ended up eating out at restaurants for both lunch and dinner. I can feel the swollen fingers and ankles today. We picked up our new glasses and did some shopping. It’s nice to have clearer vision. I’m on track so far today and look forward to almost a full week at home before I have to travel again. BTW, I have no idea why my weight ticker has blown up so incredibly big! I could not easily see a way to make it smaller as I saw no numbers (indication size) to change. I’ll continue to investigate. If anyone has the quick answer I would love if you could share. In the meantime, I’m sorry to all for the β€œin your face” graphics.

Hello I'm Darlene. Retired, 63-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I have been on this weight loss journey since January 2023. I found MFP in March, and this group in April. This challenge is the first I signed up for on MFP, so it holds a very special place in my heart. πŸ’– This month is a year with some of these amazing people. πŸ’– I am so thankful for their support and accountability.

    My Goals for April

βš–οΈ Lose 2% of my body weight - changing my goal this month, my 4 pounds per month is getting really difficult now that I almost to my goal weight - but still am going to try to get that 4 pounds!
πŸ‘£ Average 17k Steps Daily with one day of rest
    πŸ“ Log Daily
πŸ₯— Stay under my calorie range
πŸ’ͺ Strength Train 3 days per week
πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ Tai Chi or Yoga 1 day per week
πŸ«€ Aerobics 3 days per week
    πŸ’¦ 6+ glasses of water
πŸ“– Putting this one back in there - read almost every day
πŸ§‚ Stay Under 2400 mg of sodium daily

    πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ πŸ«€πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚

    Highest Weight 228

    SW Dec: 228 | Jan: 217 | Feb: 212 | Mar: 207.6 | Apr 200.2 | May 194.8 | Jun: 189.6 | Jul: 187.4 | Aug: 179.8 | Sept: 174.2 | Oct: 169.6 | Nov 164.6 | Dec 164 | Jan 159.8 | Feb 156.8 | Mar 152.8

    April Starting Weight: 152.8

    🌈April 🌈🌷
April 1: 152.8 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ«€πŸ’¦πŸ“– I love the beginning of a new month. Feels like a fresh new start; a clean slate. I have noticed a pattern in my weight loss. I do fantastic the first week of every month, then I kind of get lazy and for two weeks and the weight loss slows. Then I see the end of the month coming; and Yikes - only one week to finish my goals. I usually finish out the month strong. This month I'm hoping to skip that laziness in the middle of the month. Keep me to it!

April 2: 152.4 πŸ˜πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ“–πŸ§‚ I added a new goal to my monthly, I will post whether I was under my daily sodium goal. It has huge affect on my daily weight flucuations, so if I am accountable for it, maybe I won't abuse it so much. Had a good night with Mom at bingo, she won (always a good thing), and I won twice last night. Had a brownie - put me over my calorie limit.

April 3: 151.6 πŸ˜πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ«€πŸ’¦ πŸ§‚ Silly me, I looked back at my entries - they should have been 152.x not 154.x. I guess I was stuck in that 154 range for so long last month it just got stuck in my brain. I fixed them. Dentist appointment this morning - not my favorite.

April 4: 151.6 151.6 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ“–πŸ§‚ Busy day ahead today. We have to bring the car in for it's oil change. Then off to Sams Club for shopping. Then the grocery store to pick up all that we need for our Easter celebration this weekend. It's going to be rainy (and snow) day today, so inside walks and a HIIT workout are on the schedule. Then tonight going to a fundraiser for the Women's club/Firehouse. Hoping I won't binge too much.

April 5: 152.2 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ«€πŸ’¦ It's what I expected, had a little too much fun last night and the salt gets me everytime. I estimated and logged what I think I had - and MFP says I am under my calorie goal, but I'm not counting it as completed. I did manage to meet my exercise goals yesterday. Today's goal - get my outside walk (it's blue sky today), then some strength training, and a little treadmill tonight. I made a vow that I wouldn't watch any of "my" shows unless I was on the treadmill. I'm binge watching Jane the Virgin, and I have an episode of Ghosts that are calling my name.

April 6: 153 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ’ͺ πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ πŸ’¦πŸ“– I had a little set back yesterday - I think the thought of Easter preparations, and the small trip for two days led me to self sabatoge. Over on my calories, and sodium - not a good combination. I did track it though.

April 7: 153.4 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ«€πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚ Not the right direction, but I will get back there. I'll be away for the next couple days and then giving myself a couple days to get rid of the excess vacatioin weight before I weigh in (don't want to know). Celebrating Easter with family today - then off until Tuesday night. See you beautiful people when I return!

April 8: DNW πŸ“– Only goal I met was logging. Estimated serving sizes and picked the best option I could find for the things I didn't make.

April 9: DNW πŸ“ πŸ’¦πŸ“– Away - drank a lot of water, read a lot in the car, logged (estimations again).

April 10: 153.4 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚Well that was a pleasant surprise this morning. I expected to be up from before I left - but I was SO careful yesterday. Still way up from my lowwest 151.6 - now it is time to get serious for the remainder of the month. For now - the only obstacle I see is me.

April 10: 152.8 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚Another day on plan - creeping back. I really want to get out of this decade this month. I have been here for 3 months already. It's time!

April 11: 152.2 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ πŸ’¦πŸ“– Pretty good day, met most of my goals. I did go over the sodium limit, but only by a smidge.

April 12: 151.6 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ«€ πŸ’¦πŸ“– Going for our monthly visit to Greg's cousin. Will be away most of the day and lunch with her. I'll be careful. I worked too hard this week to get back to this number to give it up now.

April 13: 151.6 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ“– Nice visit with Greg's cousin yesterday. Today another busy day - going to see The Mystery of Edwin Drood at the Goodspeed. We are lucky to live just 20 minutes from the play house and go to most of the shows. It is the where some pretty famous musicals got their start (Annie, Man of La Mancha, and Shenandoah) and has sent 21 productions to broadway. It's a small theater and every seat is wonderful; but our favorite is down by the orchestra. We will be going out to lunch beforehand - again hoping to be careful.

April 14: 152.4 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ«€ πŸ’¦πŸ“– Had a wonderful time yesterday. The play was very enjoyable. The Mystery of Edwin Drood is a musical based off the unfinished novel of Charles Dickens. The show has multiple endings determined by the audience to determine who was the murderer and to determine which members get a happy ending. We were in the front row, - so when Princess Puffer (the prostitute) does her scene she harassess a member of the audience - she chose Greg which was kind of funny. Then they chose Allyson to help tally the votes to determine the murderer. Food wise - I made a good choice for lunch - but had a drink and dessert. I did have a very light breakfast and dinner and I logged the best I could - but always choose the most calorie option when I estimate. And was over my calorie limit a bit (and of course the salt). Tonight is Bingo night with Mom - missed it last week because we were away for the Eclipse. Will skip the junk food tonight at the table - can't have three days in a row off plan.

April 15: 151.8 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚Half the month gone and going nowhere! I am determined to finish this month strong.

April 16: 152.4 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯—πŸ«€πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ πŸ’¦πŸ“– Well that isn't in the right direction. I worked my butt off yesterday - not only did I get all my exercise goals completed, I worked in the garden shoveling dirt and raking. Probably the sodium slip? But still determined to finish strong this month.

April 17: 151.6 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ§‚ Swish! It's about time. Worked really hard in the garden again. Accomplished most of my goals. Rainy day here today, so inside work today - the house needs cleaning.

April 18: 151 😁 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯—πŸ«€πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚A smile; it's been a long time since I gave myself one of those. Finally made it through this tough spot. I added intermittent fasting back into my day, in my sodium range, and left 75% of my active calories on the table. This is my new formula. And I met this goal yesterday!
    lobl94x2gg87.png

April 19: 150.6 😁 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ“–πŸ§‚ Burning alot of calories working on the new garden bed; almost finished. We are dumping all the old dirt from our container garden into the new bed, then using the new dirt in the containers. Have another 15 containers to dump.

April 20: 150.6😁 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ«€ πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚ Went a little over on my calories yesterday - but way under for the week. Finished the garden bed - today Greg is taking down a tree that we noticed has a huge crack in the bottom - afraid it will fall on the house. So clean up the mess from a fallen tree is on the agenda.

April 21: 150 😁 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ§‚ Met most of my goals yesterday, just didn't get to my book. The good thing is 3 smiles in a row. Skipping Bingo with Mom tonight. We dropped the tree yesterday - but took longer than we thought because it got caught in another tree and had to use a pulley and rope to get it out. Luckily my hubby knows what he is doing, and has all the equipment to do it safely. Today will be clean-up day and will probably be dirty and tired so I know I won't feel like going out.

April 22: 151.4 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯—πŸ«€ πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚Don't get it - but it is what it is. Met all my goals yesterday. Today more of the same - finishing up the tree removal. We got the branches from the top of the tree done - now just need to cut up the trunk. Then I think I will need a break from the trees! 🌲

April 23: 152.4 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦πŸ§‚Was having troube with my bathroom scale. Got on multiple times - each with a different result. New scale - new weight (ugh). I liked last week's numbers better - but they probably weren't accurate.

April 24: 152.8 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ«€ πŸ’¦ I was out of control yesterday. Made cookies for my Mom's birthday party today (she's 86) and of course ate cookie dough, tasted some cookies. Then that spiraled to a snack after dinner. I did count everything! But of course over on the calories and the sodium. Today is the party - so expect another uptick tomorrow. I need to get it together!

April 25: 153 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯— πŸ’ͺ πŸ’¦ Party was fun; Mom was happy. I adjusted my breakfast and dinner to make up for the lunch and the goodies I ate at the party, but was over my sodium limit which is probably why I'm up again today.

April 26: 152.6 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ«€ πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚ Got all my goals accomplished. This moring I'm doing a 5K race (walking not running). Since Monty can't come with us - we'll probably do another walk with him later today. Speaking of Monty - guess who turned five this past week - seems like yesterday that he joined the family.

April 27: 152 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯—πŸ’ͺ πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚Another day of all my goals done. The 5K was a lot of fun. We were the only walkers - everyone else ran. There was one other couple (father-daughter) that walked, but they only did 2 miles. Came in dead last of the 5kers (I let Greg go before me). But my time was 53:23 - which is 3.7 miles an hour - pretty good for an old lady if I do say so myself. Our usual walking time for the 3 miles that we do every day is just under an hour - so beat that by a lot. We didn't have here a sniff, there a sniff, everywhere a sniff sniff pup with us which makes us stop a lot - and didn't meet up with any of the usual walker to chat. Definitey fun, and I would do it again.

April 28: 152 πŸ‘£ πŸ“ πŸ₯—πŸ«€ πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ πŸ’¦πŸ“– πŸ§‚Didn't do much yesterday. Just normal chores, and exercise. Kind of a boring day.

    04/14: 341.8
04/15: 342.2 ( I have to stay away from that devilish Chick-fil-A sauce, added it to my chicken last night for some added flavor, love the taste, but it has so much fat in a serving, it is insane! 😨 )
04/16: 342.2 ( walked for almost 3miles and did laps in pool, staying in calorie range and still didn't lose the added pound. Ugh!πŸ™„ Body weight can really be unfair sometimes. )

I've been staying within my calorie goal for the most part and having long walks but the damn salt will mess you up. Have to see what happens tomorrow on scale.🀞)

    Thank you so much @TheRusticRebel
I’ll post my stats again on Wednesday for the new challenge. The first photo that I posted was Saturday. The before picture, I obviously did not take the photo because it would have been deleted ha ha. This was about two years ago. I had lost a significant amount of weight, from 284 down to 220. I maintained that for several years (up and down toying with the 2-teens). In January, I decided to just make a run for the 200’s and here we are. I’m happy to be here.

I think it would be fun to post our daily meals. These are my basics. A.m. coffee with 1 tablespoon of half-and-half because I can’t give it up.

Keep in mind im doing keto....My morning coffee has 1tbs butter, 1 tbs coconut oil and 2 tbs heavy cream. It's more of a breakfast at 300+ calories but it keeps me full till my next meal.

For lunch I had creamy coconut chicken curry and mashed cauliflower. πŸ˜‹

04/28β€”DNW I thought I would be home from out-of-town yesterday in late afternoon but I ended up traveling a little further to see two of my DGC a little further south.

04/29β€”DNW I went to look at another investment property today so I’m posting late. I ended up stopping at a bar with my son so we could get his favorite (Pizza). He wanted me to β€œpay him back” for being my GPS tracker. I would like to weigh in tomorrow since it’s the last day of the month but we’ll have to see if this incredible bloat goes away. I still think that I may have a bit of lactose intolerance in my old age. That cheese on the pizza has not done me any favors this evening.

2/26: 112.2 I forgot to weight yesterday morning, oops! I did do some weight training the day before, but last night I felt super sick which probably partially led to the big drop today. I’m on a rare trip to town so I will definitely be above calories today but also get more steps in.
    2/27: 114.4
    2/28: 113.6
2/29: 114.2 Wow, this weekend was insanely busy. I had 2 days of all day travel to a "nearby" city which included fast food and not tracking. These trips are pretty rare though, only a few times a year and we did some shopping we needed to do and bought an old truck so overall it was good, but I'm beyond exhausted. I'm back to my prepped meals for the week and planning on some early bedtimes!
