My main goal is actually a non-scale victory. I bought a pair of pants that were supposed to be my size, only to try them on and have them get stuck half-way up my thighs. My goal is to fit in them by my birthday in November (by my approximation they’ll fit about 20 pounds down from now, hence the goal weight).

My name is Krystal. Been with the man I married for 22 years and we have an 18 year daughter. It’s been a strange transition with her turning into an “adult” and trying to find our new normal as a family. We lived in Florida our whole lives (minus a brief period when we lived in Illinois). This Community and this group is the best most well kept secret where I have been able to truly lose weight. My family and friends are all overweight and they have tried to understand what these MFP groups are like. They just see me lose the weight and I tell them I’m a part of a weight loss group that motivates me. But they can never really “get it”… “Is it like weight watchers?”Me: Yes but no, not really.. better than that; “Is it like a fitness group???” Me: Yes but not really.Lol I have gone as far as taking them step by step how to get here and what it’s like, and they just don’t grasp it! So I stopped trying to explain. All I know is that I’m back down 10 lbs over the last 2 months and I can attribute allot of that to MFP and this group. I set up a strict goal and plan in preparation for our yearly family (beach) vacation. In the past, when I have set up strict goals on a strict timeline I have typically rebelled against myself and will actually GAIN weight. That was before I figured it all out..SW: 165.1(this round)

~ My plan is to eliminate drinking alcohol on a nightly basis
Been keeping up with this still but when I do drink on the weekends I go into like a downward spiral and then spend the rest of round struggling to come back out of it

~ I couldn’t get an accurate scale reading towards the end of this round. On Sunday I could only weigh in after a McDonald’s breakfast and in the middle of the day once we got home from Ft. Lauderdale.
~ We had such a fun weekend though. I did my best and tried to stick with low carb but ultimately the hangover called for greasy food and I caved. Funny how well I do during these planned events. But it’s the days after that I give in to full-on carbs and junk.
~ I’m back to it now because ultimately that type of eating makes my body feel like crapola!

I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

Pleased with this number, sort of knew Wednesday’s number was not really going to be. 2.4 pounds lost this round, happy with that, also very happy that I completed this round without a single binge 😊, only one day when I went over exercise calories, that just confirms what I already know, consistency is the answer.

A lot has happened in 2 years. My Dad passed in August 2022. He is finally at peace. He never really got over my Mom passing. With COVID, work and trying to see about my Dad while in a nursing home, life was very stressful.
After my Dad passed I was finally able to focus on Molly. In May 2023 I quit my job I had been at 20 years. I was tired of them and their mess. I have taken off a year and fixed up my new condo, and just chilled. I have been loving my time off, now I do not feel like going back to work but I have too because I don't want to go into my retirement funds. I rolled that over when I quit. If possible I am going to work part time until I am 65 and I can get Medicare.
I hope everyone else is hanging in there. Life is something else but we can do it. As far as my health goes I have lost weight since my last Round which was 277. I never stopped weighing daily. I have been weighing daily since 2004, it is a good tool.

Good news is I can play a mind game with myself when the first couple of pounds for my Summer Challenge come off really fast. I blame this on eating too much watermelon last night, and also not sleeping enough. I find that I try to eat my way to having energy when it's just that I'm tired. Sometime, I'll be hungry and just take a short nap and wake up feeling so much better and no longer hungry (again, this only works some of the time ).
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

DH and I have been watching Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones on Netflix, and of course the commonalities of communities where more people live longer are plant-based, low-junk diets, lots of physical activity in the course of daily life, and a few other things. I’m working on upping my veggies and reducing processed carbs (read pasta), but I think I’m going to have to press harder. At 89 in July, thin DH doesn’t feel any pressing need to change his diet, but at 71 and fat, I know I can’t eat the way he does (he doesn’t eat junk, but is a huge fan of pasta). We can’t always eat different dinners, but my new strategy is to have extra veggies. I’m hoping this series will nudge him to more me-friendly meals. I’ve also been doing so much work in my garden that I haven’t been walking as planned. I need to get back to walking, for many reasons.

06/15 -182.8- (Trend weight 184.4) While I am happy to see a drop on the scale, I’m not really sure I trust it. Meals were very good again but snacks were over the top. I’ve been eating a high protein dinner the past couple of days but its just not helping my snack time. It’s all about cravings, not hunger. Exercise was lacking again. I did get some weed pulling in but that’s about it. I did babysit the 6 year old but he’s sick and not creating much work for me. Lets just say I could have done better. Today is a food filled graduation party at a local hall. Tomorrow is a Father’s Day BBQ at my oldest daughters house. In our family, as in most, all holidays and events revolve around food. Today I imaged that a graduation celebration would be that everyone meets at a local trail for a celebration hike. No food, only water along the path. Boy, THAT would be different but I don’t see it catching on. Maybe I can take my own walk later after the dinner. Good luck this round, my friends. Thanks for sharing so much of your life with me, I really do appreciate it.

6/15 Blew past no sugar/no flour yesterday as my husband and I went to a winery for lunch and then dinner out with our kids and sugary snacks back at home. Had some alcohol and it always affects my sleep and how I feel the next day. Back at it today!
