Overall challenging month for weight loss after a vacation and an injury - bad tendinitis of my soleus muscle below my calf.
Happened the first week of June by over exercising on a Reebok step, my fault.

This hindered me physically and a bit mentally but Iโ€™m happy to say the RICE method helped greatly. Just very hard for me to be off my feet in any circumstance! Got back to walking and weighs two days ago. Ready for July!

My name is Donna. I am 64 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5โ€™ 5โ€ tall. My highest weight was 253 in 2016. My MFP start weight was 235 in 2018.

Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (Iโ€™ll know it when I get there!)

    Start Weight (from May 31st 2024 ): 181.8

Goal Weight: 177.8 (4 pound loss)

End of Challenge Final Weight: 187.0

Weight lost/gained this month: 5.2 lb Gain

I will be keeping my weigh-in days on Sunday.

Weight in blue makes me blue because itโ€™s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because itโ€™s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

    06/01-182.4-(Trend Weight: 185.3)-

    06/02-183.4-(Trend Weight: 185.2)-

    06/09-DNW-(Trend Weight: DNW)-

    06/16-184.4-(Trend Weight: 185.5)-

06/23-186.8-(Trend Weight: 185.3)- Spiraling out of control since all the travel and events. Old habits and cravings come back so easily but are so hard to beat back down. Iโ€™ll be working on this issue all week. Especially at night time when the snack monsters seem to come out in full force. All good food in the house, but that doesnโ€™t mean you canโ€™t overeat!

06/30-187.0-(Trend Weight: 186.6)- Weight is about the same as last week but there was a tremendous increase in my trend weight as the overall month has been very bad. Horrid, in fact! I gain 5.2 lbs this month and it was mainly caused by my binge eating disorder. I donโ€™t always understand how I can be so on-point some weeks and months and others-so out of control. All I can do is focus forward and do everything I can to make July better. See you next round my friends.

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Not a good end to the month. I'm up over five pounds. I'm barely down from the beginning of the year now. Time to change something up. I've lost only about 1.5 pounds this year.

    Stick to it!

This month did not go the way I had intended, but I'm back in the saddle now after some streamlining, injury recovery, and re-thinking! I look forward to hitting the 170's in July ๐ŸŒป

@Michieb125 Good for you for taking it easy so that your leg can heal. Being patient when things aren't going well is the hardest part of this whole thing! Here's to a successful (and injury-free) July.

@deepwoodslady I'm sorry to see you having a hard time. You've come a long way, and I have no doubt you will continue on to your weight goal! It's all a learning process -- my personal belief is that obesity is about 90% about emotions that were not dealt with. So now we get to learn more about ourselves, and find new ways to deal with life (instead of stuffing our feelings down with food). My relationship with food changed greatly after I read Allen Carr's Easy Way to Quit Emotional Eating which was a true eye-opener for me. I also find the Brain Over Binge podcast helpful.

The past two weeks have been hard for me. INCREDIBLY stressful with MIL being home from the hospital, new job, and husbandโ€™s cancer treatment. The doctor took me off my iron supplement because I donโ€™t think he believes Iโ€™m iron deficient anemic. Wellโ€ฆ Iโ€™m not taking it, so at my follow up in Nov, I can show him I am! Why do I have to suffer to prove another man wrong?! I do that enough for my husband.๐Ÿ™„

Anyway, I need to find a wayโ€ฆ or just the energy and motivationโ€ฆ to get my butt up and turn this mess around. In 2014, I was at my personal best with my health and fitness. Now, Iโ€™m just a hot mess, and I just canโ€™t find my groove again.

    Thank you, @RubyRed427 !
I'm Chris - 74 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
My husband and I are retired, however...we watch our Grandsons during the week. Collin is 18 months and is our Morning Duty. Ronan is in 2nd Grade and is our Afternoon Duty.
I see my trainer for 60 mins three days a week and try to walk the other four days. The walking doesn't always work out. The boys can be exhausting...

Hey everyone! Love the positivity here! Setting goals on MFP has been a game-changer for me too. I remember hitting a plateau in my weight loss journey and needed an extra push. A friend recommended checking out fitnflexed.com for supplements to support my workouts, and it really helped me break through. Remember, progress is progress, no matter how small.
