Ok, here we go, off on a new round. I’m determined to move the needle this round.
7/16 - 197
When I said “move the needle,” I meant the other way. 😊 It’s ok, it’s a delayed reaction from the weekend away.
7/17 - 196.8
We’re finally getting a little break in the heat for a few days—80s instead of 90s—so I’m planning some garden time to try to catch up with the weeds. @quiltingjaine and anyone else who likes flowers, here are some daylilies and anise hyssop for you. 😊
7/18 - 196.4
Good, I seem to be back on track.
7/19 - 197
Pfftttt. I have to get back to walking. I’ve been having gut issues all summer and have been afraid to get too far from facilities, but I’ve cut out coffee (waaaa!) and cutting back on fats and it seems to be helping. I’m not 100% confident yet, but getting there. We have a fabulous trail system here and I’m eager to get back on it. I don’t know how I got out of the habit of 5-8 miles walking most days. I did get a get of exercise yesterday in the garden, but it’s not enough. Maybe I’ll try walking some loops around our house and see how it goes.
7/20 - 197
I confess, I had triscuits and cheese late last night. Not the worst snack nutritionally, but I didn’t need the calories. Oh well!

. It’s also a bit of a red flag that I hadn’t noticed exactly how needy this friend is! My bad for not having boundaries in place.
THIS! My “BFF” since college-over 50 years. I was always there when she needed me. Then almost 2 years ago when her BF passed. She had called and asked me to rescue her from “this awful place. A nurse had told her to stop crying because that wasn’t helping anyone! After he was gone I tried to keep her occupied. We made plans to do things and she would make other plans with someone else and not let me know until I called to see if we were meeting at my house or destination. “Oh, I did that yesterday with Kayla” or “Oh, I’m not going.” I last called her to see how her cataract surgery went and she said she would call me back. A year and a half later, I’m NOT waiting anymore. That was the eye opener for me.

Thank you @quiltingjaine for helping us stay accountable to ourselves.
You’re welcome!
Regarding the Met-I am quite envious. I watch “period pieces” mainly to drool over the costumes.5 -
@Judefit1 DSIL used to make fresh hummus for our DD every morning. I don’t know how much or how long he did that but eventually she figured out the carbs. I don’t know how she was eating it but when she figured the macros, she quit.3

7/17 133.0 SEVEN YEARS AGO TODAY I arrived on this platform and started keto/LCHF. It’s been an interesting ride. For the first time since we moved to Las Vegas our power was out for an hour last night. Our daughter insisted that we come to their house for the night because she had a/c and we didn’t. As we packed an overnight bag the power came on. All is well and all of the flashlights have new batteries.😁
7/18 133.0 Last night was Bingo. DD#2 was experiencing chest pain and since cardiologist told her last week that he’s fairly certain she’s had 2 heart attacks she was panicky and spent the whole day at the ER getting tests only to be sent home at 8:30pm with nothing found. Having experienced this myself many years ago, I suspect any chest pain no matter how small caused a panic attack. She has a stress test a week from tomorrow. In the meantime, her knee surgery which was supposed to be this past Monday is on hold. She wanted to get it done before school starts on August eighth.
7/19 132.5
7/20 131.5 I’m keeping my total carbs super low and if I do want something extra I make it protein (and fat) - usually some cheese.7 -

@UTMom81 I love it. Mine does a few calculations... Looks like I have a carb problem. I am still tweaking the macro section for accuracy and meaningfulness.

Thx for sharing your NSVs. (if I miss someone, I am truly sorry! ) There is so much +benefit+ to this journey, in addition to the scale floating down after extensive effort! Sharing and reading NSVs (new habits and self-awareness) helps me continue to see the big picture.
There is a fortune in GOLD today on this challenge! I’m laughing out loud and in awe of the wisdom shared… yes, a few bumps but I’m loving reading about everyone’s starts/stops/detours and progress! Helps me dig deep.

@UTMom81 & @_JeffreyD_ I’m truly intrigued by your spreadsheets & I want to find myself a shortcut somehow someway and will investigate!4 -

07/14 …..189.4….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND

07/17 -187.0- (Trend weight 188.8)
07/18 -188.6- (Trend weight 188.8)
07/19 -188.0- (Trend weight188.7) I am trying not to be or feel so negative today but I can’t help thinking about the fact that I am nearly 11 pounds heavier than I was in March (when I’d hit my new low). How quickly it comes back on! Feeling everything from disappointed to disgusted. Absolutely Nothing can be done except to move forward. It also makes me realize that maintenance must be a nightmare! Pre-warned is Pre-armed.
07/20 -186.2- (Trend weight188.4) A nice little drop today which has made me wake up incredibly hungry. Today will likely be a battle, especially since my Foodie DD and DGS are here again. Yesterday she worked all day and then they were invited somewhere for dinner so that really helped me stick to my macros. Today I am not sure of their plans yet but with this hunger, I hope they will leave for the day so I will not have so much temptation. This is part of the “backbone and not wishbone” that I was talking about the other day, I suppose. My macros have been consistently showing that I am way over on my sodium levels. Mainly because of cottage cheese (or other low carb cheeses). It also really hurts when I eat anything processed, like lunch meat for a sandwich or breakfast meat of any kind with my eggs. Of course, as a diabetic I have to watch my sugars too. When my sodium is a bit lower, my sugars tend to show higher grams. Gosh its tough to balance all the macros and the sodium and sugars too all while counting both calories and carbs. Its like a full time job! I have a few go-to meals that work wonderfully but if I overdo them I end up in a boredom binge to defy ever having to eat them again! The battle is ON today. 1. Stay away from daughter. 2. Prelog and stick to eating plan. 3. Get in some exercise. 4. Watch my macros. 5. Watch EVERY stat but especially the salt and sugar for health reasons. 6. Stay creative. Wednesday is my stress test for my heart. It’s been almost 2 yrs since my last one. Last time they ended up placing a stent in the heart. I want to stay extra good on my plan between now and Wednesday.

Round 266
July 15 – 24, 2024
62 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
GW Maintaining between 124 - 126
Continuing to figure out maintaining, and to work on best nutrition and exercise.
History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a two grandsons. We have two parents, 87(mother), 85(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse (father has since passed and I am DPOA, Personal representative AKA executor, trustee, and oversee the majority of my mother’s care). A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

7/20 – 136.4 I need to get back to pre-tracking. Deciding “on the fly” is not working. I am making way to many “what the heck” choices and I am coming up with way too many excuses for why I am doing this to myself. I know how to make good choices, and I know the empowering feeling that comes with it. I just CAN NOT seem to flip the switch back. Going to pre-track my day today and tomorrow (entertaining for dinner). Let’s see how this shakes out. I’ll keep you updated.

My NSV is that I am settling into the mindset that the scale isn’t the determining factor of what is right for me when it comes to health, body perception, etc.
While on the phone with my sister yesterday we were talking about weight loss goals and expectations. She said she doesn’t have a set “goal”. She has a mental picture of where she wants to be with her physique and an idea of what weight she needs to be for that to materialize. When she put it that way, I realized it was how I felt as well. My goal weight of 175 with an ultimate goal of 150 is because that’s where I “think” I need to be to look the way I want to look and feel healthy. If I’m happy at 175 then I’ll go into maintenance, if it’s lower then I’ll keep working. Either way, I’m happy and I feel like I’m making life changes that will be long-term and that’s what really matters.
@jensmakingprogress I usually say that my final goal is 145-150 and that I will know when I get there. However, I agree 100% with you and your sister. How are we to really know so far ahead of time? I chose a number that I looked good at (and was medically healthy at) when I was 30 years old which was before my final two children were born. Now I am 64 years old and if I reach my overall goal of losing over 100 pounds (my highest weight was 253) how am I to know what 145 or 150 looks like. How much skin will I have? It certainly doesn't spring back in my mid 60's like it did at 30. How much muscle weight? I mean, I certainly can't exercise like I did at 30 due to heart problems, knee issues, neuropathy in my feet etc. I have loosely set my goal but, like you & sis, I will have to play it by ear and I think that our size and our health will be the new matrix. I do need something to "aim for" but its not set in stone, for sure. I think a lot of us may be in this same boat and I am so glad you brought it up. It's wonderful that we are getting fitter and healthier together!4 -

July 17 - 173.8 - Yep, 3 days in a row, LOL. I've found a way to keep my cravings from hitting so hard in the afternoons. It's simple but it's working. I've flipped my oatmeal or shredded wheat from morning to afternoon. The complex carbs do the trick.
July 18 - 172.6 - Finally, a drop! The old me tried to come out yesterday. I was donating to a cat rescue thrift shop and across the street was a convenient store. All the years I worked from home I would go out at lunch and get chips and diet coke even though I didn't have it in the house on purpose. Anyway, I was thinking just a small bag of salty, greasy, carby chips (how can I like those things) won't hurt. I then thought about all the work I've done to get where I am and also to get the scale to drop, and all the times I give in right before I'm going to have a drop. The problem is that one bag would lead to one more bag, etc., and my cravings will take off. I'm proud of myself, which seems weird to say, because on the surface it doesn't sound that bad to have just a small bag of chips, but for me it starts it all up again. Thanks for listening!
July 19 - 172.6 - 172.X stuck for another day - YAY!
July 20 - 172.6 - Wow, another weight showing up the same for 3 days straight. As part of my plan to eat more vegetables/fiber, I cooked two bags of organic carrots this morning. It's just too hot to roast them so I cooked them in my dutch oven on top of the stove with butter (I was out of olive oil), salt, paprika and garlic powder. I let them brown some and then a little chicken broth to remove from bottom of pan. They tasted so good. A serving was 67 calories and 5g fiber. I did not peel, I just scrubbed them really good.

Not sure if its natural slowdown, too many carbs lingering, or if less than 5 hours sleep the past two nights are contributing factors. Either way, still winning! Tired and a little sore though after so much recent activity, making this a rest day. Lots of liquids, some stretching and a nap are the only things on the agenda. Have a great day all!

MAY Goals: Lose 6-8bs, 2-3 inches and 1-2% body fat ❎❎❎
May 22: I had packed some shorts to change into after swim without trying them on. They were so tight last summer, I expected the fit to be better ~ but when I put them on ... wow. I was in front of the locker room mirrors and was like omg, that's you. How long has it been since you looked/felt like that? I was spinning around looking at myself for a good 2-3 minutes, y'all, lol ~ my New #1NSV
May 4: 10 of the 20 inches lost was off my belly! No pics, no proof, lol ~ I love/hate taking photos because they've become one of my best tools. You can't lie and you can't hide. Putting myself on blast 1) creates incentive to increase effort and 2) highlights new areas to focus on. Still a long way from my ultimate goals, but its nice to see muscle memory is real! At a size 15, I haven't been this small in more than 10 years.
APRIL 1st SW: 198.2 | EW: 197.8
Goals: Lose 6-8bs, 2-3 inches and 1-2% body fat ❎❎❎
Lost less than a pound, 1.25 inches combined on arms and legs | regained 0.2% body fat and 1/2 inch back on my belly. Starting dietary 200-400 calorie deficit and Intermittent Fasting 18-24 hrs. Breaking fast differently, including more protein, and continuing to look for new ways to increase step count and add more strength in May.
January 1st - April 1st, I've lost 17 pounds and a total of 20.8 inches from 11 areas. 🥳 Thrilled to see my hard work reversing prediabetes and years of physical damage. Getting leaner and stronger and chair dancing proud of myself about it!! 57 and hormonal, it's taken longer than expected and a much rougher road than my youth.
Reaching onederland (March 13th) meant the end of 10+ years and up to 80 pounds!! gained and relost too many times to count. Yo-yoing is the main reason for so much body fat!!! Determined not to continue to self-sabotage ... I need a new target!! If I should lose an additional 8% body fat to reach the "standard" for my age, height and sex ~ and up to 15% more to reach excellent ~ that's @ least another 8-15 months of work before I can begin to relax and think maintenance.

7/15 212.0 Working out last night wasn’t easy after taking time off for vacation, but it wasn’t as hard as I expected. This week’s goal is to get back on track with water and logging food. Hoping I can lose at least 1 pound from where I was before vacation.
7/16 210.8 Moving in the right direction. Forced myself to get out and walk in the heat yesterday. Took my water with me and got another 24 oz in during the walk. It was worth it.
7/17 209.0 Almost back down to pre-vacation weight. Increased my walk this week to 2 miles a day. Feeling good right now.
7/18 208.6 Work lunch yesterday and I ate more carbs than usual. Drank more water though and hit 2.5 miles walking. I’m back to pre-vacation weight and getting closer to 20 pounds lost! Going to celebrate this small win with some walking today, but otherwise resting on the exercise front.
7/19 208.0
7/20 DNW Was hungry late last night and indulged in Taco Bell after game night with friends. I’m feeling the yuck of high sodium, bad nutrition today, but that’s okay because tomorrow will be better.5 -

I'll just chime in from about 15 years ago. DH joined WW and they told him his "top" goal weight (without a Dr's note). He came home irritated and grumpy stating that they were asking the impossible of him. My response to him was to not dwell on it now and worry about his final number later. As it was, when he got down to the "rediculous" WW goal weight, he decided it was too high for him.
Start your process and see how it goes and how you feel. You do not have to decide today.6 -

Goals for this round; (same as last round & hoping committed to achieve them this time!!)

• to get to/stay under 139 pounds,
• to lose!
I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

SW RND 266
7/15 139.4 – (trend 139.8) just 4.71 miles walked, all exercise calories +200 eaten back.
7/16 139.4 – (trend 139.7) 7.7 miles walked, 88% of exercise calories eaten back. Walking today will be a challenge, rain started yesterday late afternoon & has not stopped yet, at times it has been torrential ☹. Usual Tuesday lunch out with DS’s planned for later.
7/17 139.8 – (trend 139.7) 5.75 miles walked in a small non-raining window, all exercise calories +163 eaten. Rain finally stopped, it’s going to be a lovely day today 😊.
7/18 DNW
7/19 141 – (trend 140) – no structured walking, yesterday we left home early to travel to a caravanning DF of 25 years funeral. He had bravely fought prostrate cancer for the last 9 years. It was an outdoor wake with a hog roast & cider, exactly what he would have organised for himself. RIP DF. Struggled the last few days with afternoon snacks too, need to get back on track (yet again ☹!!), 5 days to do this.
7/20 DNW - 10.73 miles walked yesterday. Away in the caravan in Sherwood Forest. Really struggling, need to get will power back. Plenty of walking in the agenda.
7/21 DNW - 12.73 miles walked, less than 40% exercise calories eaten back. Yesterday was very therapeutic lots of heart to heart with DH & also meditation whilst enjoying the forest walking, feel happier with myself this morning and back in the groove!! It was yet another bump in the road.

F65, 5’6” married, MawMaw Proud. Clean P:E (ProteinG> (Cg+Fg) A clean/whole food WOE- (🚫processed foods). Track macros, all fitness and NSVs. HW 172lbs in 2010. Lost 16lbs Aug-Nov 2023. 7/31/24 will be one year in this challenge!
👇🏻July Level Up (Down) Plan
***************************
I pledge to prioritize each of these #HSF choices EVERY DAY of July:1. P:E: Proteing greater than 1:1 vs. Energy g. [Pg > (Cg+Fg)] (and kcals = avg. maintenance).I will continue this nutrition plan through July. It is supposed to support muscle gain with fat loss while 🏋🏼♀️🤸🏼♀️ 🎾. I will continue to track NSVs/macros/ activities, etc. to learn about my body.
2. 🙏📝 🧐 - I will continue to pray, journal, research. This is my aspect of “leveling up” because I am nothing without my relationship w/Jesus Christ. I’ve also grown into loving/enjoying learning about my body & healthy aging. Replacing BAD habits w/ GOOD habits is a journey in itself. This practice helps me stay present /mindful of many decisions/ thoughts/ actions that impact not only nutrition, but improves self-talk & interactions w/others.
3. 🏋🏼♀️this is my biggest challenge. I still don’t like it. Not one bit. I have some days that it clicks, but it’s a daily struggle. Living “fake it till I make it”… Faking my “identity”. My hope is that some 🏋️♀️version eventually becomes a healthy habit. I’m working on a minimum of 10-minute “🏋🏼♀️snacks” 2-3x per day, 5x per week. Gosh, how I wish someone, ANYONE would have told me in my earlier years that 🏋🏼♀️is the key to fat-loss / maintaining - NOT cardio. I was brainwashed.
4. Healthy Aging - includes mobility, flexibility, balance and agility. While I do stretch every morning plus “stretch snacks”… I want to up this game… I will start to add “sprints” (which is NOW only fast jogging… 😂) and plyometrics (celebrating a 2” vertical jump) 😂. I read to “sprint” is vital as we age…..
5. I have much “work” to do with family relationships. Won’t detail here, but it’s a challenge & my overall health will not flourish without this being acknowledged and improved. Mind, body & spirit are connected. I won’t be fully content until I reconcile this part of my life.
6. Sleep- This is a big one. I’m usually fast asleep by 8:30-9PM. I can’t stay up later…. I love getting up early. I’m good with a 5AM wake up but I want to sleep soundly through the night. Will continue to prioritize this key component to health and well-being…
7. Have fun… lighten up … & give myself permission to be spontaneous. (This is THE HARDEST)!!!!
👇🏻Review since my 1st R231 7/31/23 NSVs/Journey Reflections

1. ✅HSF: Avg. close to 9k steps per day for 11+ mos. Not bad. It’s no longer a “daily goal” because it’s now a daily healthy habit - #HSF 👏🏻🤩
2. ✅#HSF: 🙆♀️ Daily stretch greatly improving my attitude & confidence.
3. ✅ #HSF 📝 🙏 everyday
4. ✅#HSF: I play 🎾about 4-5x per week.
5. ✅#HSF : Z2 💕avg 60 min/day
6. ✅#HSF : zero to 15g of net carbs/ day
7. ✅Clean P:E 115-130g Protein
8. ✅#HSF Naturally IF 18/6. Eating window=noon to 6PM. (At least 5 days/wk)
9. ✅#HSF 💦80oz daily
10. ✅#HSF Alcohol limited to rare occasions.
11. 7 to 8 hours sleep per night is a goal. Sleep is still inconsistent the last few rounds…
Staying in the present moment is key to mental health and healthy choices.
Rotating 120g to 130g of protein per day is now a non-negotiable. In my dreams, I want to be 130lbs #HSF … 😎 I want to be Healthy, Strong & Fit to live out “Chapter 3” enjoying a full range of mobility, flexibility & activities… !

⚖️🚫 on sleepless nights. Rotten mood usually when I crawl out of bed at 2 AM. Why make it worse? Wanting a positive day with our DGS…. Will peter-out at some point. I’ll fuel my body and drink lots of 💦. Determined.
NSV: yesterday morn I put on a tennis skirt that I had purchased in April that fit well (at the time). Was so loose yesterday I didn’t wear it. In April, I was the same weight I am now…. The ultimate confirmation my body is changing. 💪🏻

Yesterday was an almost perfect day. Stretch, 🎾, plyo, sprints, DGS, soccer, sprints again & 🏋️♀️ with him! All on 4-5 hrs sleep. Wiped out by 4pm. Today won’t be as much activity - will read, journal, 🙏 reflect. Grateful & present.
Scale? 🔄Fluctuating 2 to 3 lbs for a few months now. 🤔Was 129 four days ago… (Is 130 g -140g of protein too much? -will drop to 120ish). And no naughtiness in sight!😎 This happens pretty consistently now… Not sure if this is a fluctuation or a muscle gain? A new me? Such intense workouts…. And inconsistent sleep. I’m still on plan with a loose tennis skirt. #HSF

Up @ 3:20. These sleep patterns are starting to bring me down… I must stay on top of my thought process to remain positive and keep going… I will ⚖️tomorrow no matter my sleep patterns.
Very enjoyable & active day yesterday with DH & DGS. 🎾🏋️♀️🏀🏃♀️& napped for an hour. Went out for Mexican food last night with high school girlfriends. We do this every six weeks or so. Opted for Ceviche & one Mezcal on the rocks.
Day5 NSV CHALLENGE: I have two:
1. I can actually go out for Mexican food now without chips and salsa. I chose to Ceviche which is healthy and also chose a zero carb cocktail - a delicious /satisfying evening out and never felt deprived.
2. I now understand and fully embrace that my relationship with food/body/mind/spirit are inseparable -and it will be/is a lifelong journey. There will never be a destination. My NSV is finally, recognizing & accepting that “maintenance” for me (#HSF) is a more intricate & complex push/pull process than the the seemingly linear, one dimensional process of reaching a goal weight. Building healthy habits is hard… And my fresh new habits are yet to be a given… they are laborious. But it’s what I want. And if I really want this new #HSF identity, I must embrace the privilege of pursing these new habits every day.

Enjoyed 🏋️♀️🏃♀️with DGS yesterday. Plyo too. Great sleep last night. I took one ibuprofenPM because I just had to sleep…
I know that my steps are down this month about 1.5k/day. I want to get them back up to averaging 10k… I usually feel better. Protein g up & calories have averaged about 200 extra per day @ 1400kcals since end of June. 🏋️♀️up. Started plyo. All macros good. …. My Inbody results recommended to gain 2lbs so here I am. But I just can’t tell if it’s fat or muscle, so I keep going… I feel good. We’re talking two pounds.
My brain has not wrapped around the concept yet… of weighing more and simultaneously losing inches!!!! I’m giving me time. I still want to be 130! This is not an easy concept to accept. Quite uncomfortable in this unknown territory. It’s a foreign/strange feeling.
I am this detailed to share this info with my fellow “Nerds” here - because I’m on this train to learn about this body of mine and I know you are too.
Onward!

@quiltingjaine : Hummus is a staple of my diet as I am mostly vegetarian, and it hasn't hurt me at all; my bloodwork shows that, as did my nutritionist. The quantity of processed food I ate Friday night certainly was a problem:-) Thanks for the advice, we all have different ways of going at the food thing:-)4

I’m a serial dieter/gainer whose weight has varied by 50 lbs over the years; I’m working to change my relationship with food. I joined this group in 12/23 at 147, lost 22 lbs and reached my goal in 4/24. I’m now working to understand my patterns so I know where my pitfalls are. My goal is to remain within the same 3-4 lb range for good!

7/21: A very welcome quiet day yesterday, I needed it! Reviewed all the plans for our upcoming trip and don't see any "holes". Now let's hope there isn't another software update on our travel date- one of my client's got caught in it Friday flying to Europe; luckily they got there but not after multiple glitches and lost luggage.

I want to build on the mild success of the last round. I will not be around a scale starting on the 22nd. I will be around foodie friends and eating out for a couple weeks after that, so I want to build my consistency of logging this round. Actually pay attention to what I shove into the old pie hole. Behave as if each bite has consequences. When I travel, I tend to neglect the MFP app. I should at least keep logging food and exercise shouldn’t I?
I used the word “I” quite a bit. Nine times in the previous paragraph. Thank YOU all for giving me a measure of accountability for my actions.
It feels a little funny being the only man in the group (far as I can tell, forgive me if I am wrong) but the group works for me. I hope I am not missing any obvious signal that this is a women’s only group. HA! Message for any outside guys who are taking a look, just try it for one round.

Last night at about 8 pm half our town lost power, including my house. Gained it back at 5 am. Very little sleep between. When I got up at 2 am to hook up the generator I weighed a full 2 pounds more than what I recorded above. Somehow I lost those pounds by 6 am.
As of this writing I am dog tired…. Quite a bit of town still in black-out. A friend is using my generator now. My Mom’s retirement center is still blacked-out. She is coming over to our house to spend the night with air conditioning.
Lots of whining here. Sorry.
7/17: 218.6

Slept like a log last night. For a change.
Scale reading is on a very rare exact-same-each-day streak. I don’t know how. Yesterday was a little cheaty. Ate a few emotions. Munched on some lackadaisical. In fact it was a bit of a run away train. I did perform a lot of functional movement yesterday which must have helped. Better beware today because I am headed for a jump up.
7/18: 219.8
/logged; exercised; 80 oz water/
Aaaaaand that is how the scale works. I actually ate better and exercised more than the day before, but the reading went up over a pound. I get it. The scale uses delayed gratification. I don’t. I need to.
7/19: 219.6
/logged; exercised a bit; 80 oz water/
Feeling the crush of pre-trip planning and packing.
My NSV is my mindfulness lately about what goes in. By that I mean I am at least thinking about it from a health perspective before I eat it. I am even tracking some macros on my nerdy spreadsheet. Let’s not get carried away; I am not striving hard to meet my goals, but I at least have some goals. HA! I can save that NSV for later.
I do want to be mindful during my trip.
7/20: 222.2
/logged; exercised; 90+ oz water/
This huge bump up is due to a couple things. TMI, Sodium, Un-mindfulness. Did I need that fried mushroom appetizer? Did I need a second IPA? Did I need to eat most of the entrée I ordered? I ordered a chicken dish for healthy reasons, but was I ever wrong. I pictured a chicken breast on a bed of rice with curry sauce on it. Ended up being a bowl of what I would describe as chicken “sloppy joe” with a little ball of rice on it. All of it super spicey and salty. Lots of water today.
Yes, Keep on Truckin. I didn’t click on the link because I am vulnerable to ear worms fmfdfa2020
7/14: 218.2
SW on day before this round.
7/21: 220.0
/logged; exercised; 99 oz water/
Scale fell most of the way back to “normal” for this round. Food was reasonable yesterday and I logged an unusual 16,500 steps. Long walk plus mowing the grass. Walking takes time, but it goes quickly if I listen to music or news. My hearing aids link up to my phone with Bluetooth. I love that feature.
Regarding macros, I am confused by the MFP accounting. They seem to change the goal on me as the day goes by. I think it may have to do with their idea of maintaining percentages, while I want to just set a gram goal and see if I meet it or not. Have not figured that out yet.

I like to track averages due to my wild fluctuations. For the same reason, I like to weigh daily so I can see the lows from time to time. It gives me hope.6 -
@SModa61
Thank you for logging in twice yesterday… The willingness to try something new addressing the deep desire to change directions… We can all learn from your persistence. When you know, you know… The TIME for change, and doing something different for a jumpstart. Perhaps a new daily habit. 💪🏻6 -

~ Yesterday was a No-Day.. but I actually changed it to Yes because I never stopped moving deep cleaning and organizing my kitchen…and I worked out on a Saturday morning(never do that)… and even though I was over in Calories I was under in carbs
