Heather - I think your post did arrive, in the end... unless you had one after that which was even a bit longer... I'm so sorry you had that experience with the laxative, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. 😟 Might be the reason I've had a couple of my best days of late, the derpity demon was taking a UK holiday. 😲
Those days are also due to Lactaid, which is finally helping instead of just making matters more painful. It was lovely to be able to have a yogurt cup and not suffer the horrible digestive upsets. Means I can get protein that isn't meat and cheese, with the upsets they bring on their own. Means also that I've turned some corner or other, and my gut is reacting correctly instead of all over the map. Fingers crossed!
The heat index is topping out up here at 106 and it's just breathless outside. Corey's finally stopped and gotten in the shower, and I stopped hours ago and came in the house. It's long past unbearable for me. I'll get the areas masked that we're trying not to inundate with paint in the very early morning and just let him have at it. He got a long way with a roller and brush in one tight spot already, and may just want to keep going that way. It's only two walls, but they're very big, very rough walls. We'll talk before bed, so I'll have marching instructions in the morning.
Hope it's a lovely week for all - mine is stretching out hot and dry-ish for days to come, very much August in Arkansas.
Later,
Love,

Yes, my post miraculously reappeared! Don't know how it did that.
Will be taking my pre bed painkillers soon, and hope for a good enough night. Last night wasn't too bad, but I was awake from 4 am. I'm reading a book I'm enjoying on my Kindle, Murder at the Monastery, by Richard Coles. It's the third in the series. It means the dark hours are bearable. I treated myself to it for the op, because it was very expensive for a Kindle book. It's too hot to actually get in bed, so I'm lying on the covers and wearing the same housedress as in the day. It works for me as I don't have to struggle in and out of things, apart from knickers. I'll change tomorrow.
Carol - How are you doing?
Flea - Loved the video. What a unique memory.
I now have one physio appointment for the right hip, and another for the left hip. Oh well. They are funded by the hospital, so I imagine they like to keep the paperwork straight!
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

I am so far behind. Our trip went well until the night before we came home. DH and I were both hit with a stomach bug. Made for interesting trip home. Then I was sick for 3 more days. Am feeling better and then I came back to work and my new person gave 2 days notice and quit. So one day at a time.
Rebecca--I hope they can figure something out soon. I love my grandchlidren, but a couple hours is enough. It is good they have you to help, but don't want to make you ill.
Heather--sorry about the news of your brother. So glad that you are doing so well and home.
Flea--The spoons it makes so much sense.
Terri--Happy 58th Anniversary.
Carol--I am so sorry. Prayers that things get better quickly
Pip--That sounds scary. I hope you can get it figured out and not happen again.
Well I am caught up and time to finish up the day and go home. DH stayed home today not feeling well. A lot of flu going around and I think he did not give himself enough time last week. He tested negative so just resting
Traci--Prayers you hear soon. They would be lucky to have you.

It’s not a big deal really, just part of bike riding, it’s happened before, I have no doubt it will happen again.2 -

I was going to post a photo of my knee and foot but decided it was too gross! Today has been a bad day for walking since the fall. Have a dr appointment Tues and just hope they can help with the swelling and black and blue.
Vicki ~ So sorry to hear you are losing yet another employee. That place must be a terrible place to work if so many keep leaving.
Lisa ~ I am lactaid intollerant and glad you have found relief in products that don't upset your tummy.

Heather ... glad to hear that your surgery is over and you can now begin the process of healing.
Tracey ... hoping you hear something soon about the job.
Pip ... scary stuff there you experienced. Glad your doctor wants to check it out.
Ginny ... yay for stable scans!
Carol ... so sorry you fell but praying you've done no damage to the knee and will soon start feeling better.
Vicki ... no fun coming home sick from a vacation ... hope you and your husband feel better soon.
Annie ... good luck with the birthday party!
Celebrated my mom's 93rd birthday last Monday. My husband and I were with her in the morning and my brother and his wife and daughter visited in the afternoon. She commented repeatedly the next day that it had been a good birthday so we all felt good about that given she's still waiting in a rehab for something to open up in long-term care.
Not sure what I did, but I pulled something in my lower back while putting away her clothes last week. I've done a lot of lifting and bending and have had intermittent back problems in my life so it's hard to say what is going on there. I saw my primary doctor on Tuesday to go over blood work and brought up the back pain. I wanted to give it a week and up until yesterday I thought I was improving but today it seems worse. So she's set up for me to get some x-rays and see what's going on. She's also giving me 3 months to make a concerted effort to clean up my diet and then we'll redo some bloodwork. I'm pretty sure that I can correct some of these borderline numbers.
I can't remember who's having oven/range problems, but my oven decided to fill the kitchen up will raw gas yesterday when I was baking a strawberry shortcake. My husband spent several years as an appliance repairman and thinks he knows what it might be so for a $60 part we'll see. Really don't want to replace the range right now.
Finally got the pool heater working and finally got into the pool. Crazy that we sink so much money into the pool and then don't get to enjoy it so I'm in it every day now. My back feels great when in the water.
Thinking of you all.

Carol - Thank you so much for that. I've never been able to use Lactaid successfully - it just made me feel awful in a different way, painfully bloated with no relief. To be able to enjoy yogurt, which I've loved for years but couldn't eat without pain and horrible gas sounds like a small thing. It feels like an absolute gift. I hope the docs can get you some relief from the swelling and pain.4

Today’s gratitude: Tumble’s issue is likely a soft tissue injury from when I dropped a branch across her back. No X-rays needed, no trouble with her hips or discs. 10 day course of carprofen with massage along spine and warm compresses (towel from dryer). Just love Dr. Chris, wish he could clone himself
Ginny thanks for the reminder about K2 MK4 vs MK7. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3502319/ Had to check my D3K2 label, it’s MK7, whew! Healing thoughts for your staff member. The fatigue must be devastating.
Lisa Joe long ago learned to wait until I finished my first cup of tea before trying to say or ask me to do anything Your prior reaction to Lactaid is what happened to me with Bean-o. So glad you’re now able to enjoy the yogurt, naturally occurring probiotics are the best imho.
Annie “no police and no hospital makes it a good day” Truth! When telling about the nephews we fostered when they were 13, 14 and 16 I always conclude with “… and no one’s in jail!” ;}
Barbie yay Annie! Wish we had free Covid tests here, it should be a concern but keep hearing of people infected/exposed continuing to mingle unmasked. Grr.
Beth your oven issue sounds like what ours did. Gas smell while not coming up to temp due to faulty igniter. But since Joe was never an appliance repairman we had to wait weeks for the warranty repair guy to come. ;( Enjoy your pool, hope your back pain eases and Xrays are helpful.
Michele any word on your stove?
That’s it, time to snooze.
Later, lighter, lovelies!

A decent night. This time I'm having problems with cramps in the hip when I am in the bed. Annoying, but not serious. I just have to unstick myself!
I'm able to walk to the bathroom with one crutch, so I can fill and carry a glass of water.
My son and the kids came round with cards, but didn't come in, because of their colds. I went to the open window and shouted down to them. Lovely to see them. DDIL's parents also sent a card.
The girls are off to a 'West End' day, where they will be learning singing and dancing. Wish I could join them!
My son has invited us to a bbq at their house at the weekend. He will pick us up. Not far to stagger.
Another gorgeous day. I have my fan if it gets too hot. DSIL says it is 'frazzling' where she is on holiday in Western France. It's usually cooler here on the coast than inland. And I'm not digging roads!
I've ordered Aperol and Prosecco, on my Waitrose, to make Aperol Spritz, for when she comes to stay soon. She loves it. I'm really looking forward to seeing her. The bed is already made up and the towel on it.
I realise how much I like having just one thing to concentrate on, which is getting well. I can't do anything, or go anywhere, and there is something wonderfully freeing about all that. A simple life. I do think about my bruv, and will ring him soon, but there is nothing I can do about that. I remember feeling the same after the birth of my first baby. I only had one priority.
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx7 -
Good Tuesday!
Healing thoughts to those dealing with illness and surgeries.
The work/employee crisis makes no sense to me. How do folks pay bills if not employed? Why are seniors the majority of the work force?
Flea-Thank you for sharing! That was awesome!
It is OFFICIAL! My youngest daughter and son in law are now legit homeowners and debt free to us! Yay!!!!! One less stressor! Check to bank today then payoff HELOC and move my portion to savings. Happy dance!
I am caught up at work! Other things to pay attention to now. Spring order time coming up.
Laundry going this morning. Two loads folded and put away. One in the washer. One in the dryer. Kittens playing. Bed made.
Thank you Ladies for being my inspiration!

Good morning beautiful ladies!
Well all is good. My sister did pass on to my nephew that Dad may or may not be ready to give up the car, so their expectations will be in line. We will have the conversation and see where it goes. I kinda think it ought to have a safety inspection/ oil change before they drive it to Ohio.
And my sister made a plan for the boat. The baby and her mother are going to have a nap instead of sailing. The baby is fourteen months. So that makes me feel better. Plus the boat is 45 foot, so big enough to be safer.
My friends are taking care of me for this party, which is a good feeling. One of them wants to bring me a table. I said three times that we have the card tables, but she has the experience and she is totally certain I need this table. So okay I caved. That is arriving in an hour or so.
And my cousin is bringing the Cole slaw so that saves me a trip. I still need candles for the birthday cake, so that's something to remember. Plus I need more coasters but I can get those from my aunt. And I need to think about tablecloths. But mostly everything is on track.
So for my next challenge, I need something to wear on the boat. I haven't worn shorts in a year, but I did shave so maybe.
So all is well. Yay!
Have a great day! May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

I found the extra coasters! Yay! Sometimes it's the little things!

Annie - Sometimes it IS the little things. Enjoy as much of all this as you can and just let the rest go... Have a good day, dear heart.
Heather - Fun to see you already getting back toward your real life! Your realistic streak has done so much to keep you healthy and moving forward.
Am taking a break from masking off the few elements we would really like to keep unpainted under the carport. Three glass doors, to be specific. But because I was up at 3 a.m., I'm off my routines completely, and spaced out taking my morning pain meds earlier. A few minutes, and it will cut in. Corey's just gotten up - I've been rattling around in the house until an hour or so ago, and will be able to put in another hour or so outside, then the temperature will be too high for me.
Lots to get done before that...
More later, kids,
Love y'all!

Going to get my nails done this morning snd then pick up Alfie9 -
Taped mouth and used breathe strip last night. Slept from 10:00 to 6:30. No getting up or leg cramps. I lost weight from being sick. Did regain two pounds so now 157 in the morning. This is the least I have weighed in years. I am losing it slow and steadily. I did have enough energy last night to get my back years mowed.
