First week? if so then most of it is water weight and you will notice a decline as you progress. However if it is not your first week you are losing weight way too fast which is unhealthy and should up your calories a bit.

Don't worry. Anyone who posts on the boards anything short of mindless asskissing is called "rude" and a "hater". lol It was sound advice and important for her to hear so she is less inclined to give up when she hits a stall in a few weeks.

You didn't rain on anyone's parade.

Because what he said is true and people do get disappointed wnen they do not lose the same again. They then have high expectations and worry and ask on here when they are not losing a lot or why have put weight back on.

Getting peoples hope up is just as bad as 'negative' comments. I doubt he is a hater because somebody lost 8 pounds in a week.

I am not upset by his comment at all because he is right and I do know this! I am trained in nutrition so I know were it's come from! I am so happy to just lose a 1lb a week. Obviously it's a massive boost! But I know realistically I won't lose that every week! I wouldn't want to! I would lose a lot of muscle mass!! But I'm one happy bunny today! Thankyou for the lovely comments x

See! No need for warnings and dire premonitions, she is a smart gal...People can ask for help if and when they need it, praise and positivity is what's needed here! ESPECIALLY when the post is about a success! Not a cry for help...Hope that makes sense to you guys who think I am wrong....

Sounds like you have the right attitude for long term success! This is a great place and I have yet to see a "hater" on here. What I see is great people all trying to support and help one another with their personal experiences and knowledge.

Steady and slow is the way to go!

No probs. It seems like sometimes people just want to find problems with posts but will only say it in a passive aggressive manner.

It does make sense Pinky.. just don't call people who are well intentioned with a different opinion than yours a "hater" that's not nice! (... and he was right)

This is something I needed, to be honest! I have had so much upset in the past month, I'm surprised I didn't reach for the biscuit barrel! But I chose not to, and now gaining great success!
I have been doing a lot of spinning which is great cardio, and a lot of walking so maybe that's helped! Next week will be a small loss but I'm not bothered at all! As long as it is still coming off, be it only half a pound! Not bothered it's going in the right direction and getting me to my goal. caused quite a thread lol.

8lbs in one week is quiet a bit, depends on how much you have to lose, but be careful. Make sure you have enough energy to make it through the day, and make sure your blood pressure are within normal range.

Congrats! I lost 8lbs this week also! I have no idea how but I did. I got on and off that scale like 5 times! Even though I have been doing this since June, I slacked off and gained the weight back that I had lost. So technically this is my dreaded week 2.

I totally agree with PBJunkie in cautioning on the dangers of super-fast weight loss. It is not always a good thing, nor should it be celebrated or encouraged indiscriminately.

Great job! I remember losing 5 lbs the first week and I was SOOOOO motivated. I then lost 21 lbs total (actually 23 at one point) in 3 months and I did NOTHING uhealthy. Some weeks were a big loss (never the 5lbs again, but 2 and 3 here and there) and some no loss at all. Keep up the good work.

I have read all your lovely comments, some not so sure about!! But I know that fasting isn't good at all! I know by gaining muscle which I want, I won't achieve if I go totally stupid!! Which I'm not!
I have cut my snacking out which I did a lot for comfort! I guess a lot of us do that! I just changed the way I eat, like a chicken salad sandwich in granary bread, which I try and aim under the 400 calorie Mark.
I am not stupid, I do know what I'm doing, I am a chef and also work for the NHS as a diet chef!
In the past when I was younger I admit I was totally unaware what I was doing, and hardly ate, which led to my anorexia!
I have 36lb in total to lose, which I'd like to think I could have that off by my birthday next march, not next week! :-)
Reading the threads I see a few people have had big losses so I'm not the only one!! Well done to you!!
Yes I love biscuits, and is my weakness! So I hide it out of view lol.
But thankyou to you all!!!!! Xx
