Bald faced hornets as opposed to bearded hornets? 😂
Isn't any hornet, bald or not, something to stay away from?
Do you think I named them? 😅

You mean like... Fred, Ben, Alphonse, Jeremiah? (Aren't I assuming they're all male?)

Aren't they more likely to be female hornets?

Why would they be more likely to be female?

Aren't male hornets rare and more docile according to Wikipedia?

Since all biting mosquitoes are female, why not all stinging hornets?

What do the male mosquitoes do with all their time then??

Do they have any time after their heads are bitten off?

    Or is that praying mantises?

Aren't male hornets (bees, wasps, etc.) called drones? While I haven't read anything about male hornets being "rare", didn't I just read this?

Do you want the long list of "wrongs" listed alphabetically, numerically, or logically?

Why don't you surprise me? (Wasn't that prompted by the double posting of my last question?)

How do you list something logically, @nossmf ?

Isn't it easier to describe logically as the opposite of illogically?

    Doesn't that sound logical?

What if all definitions in the dictionary were like that?

In this day of Google, who even references a dictionary anymore?

How do you think m they came up with the name Google?
  • frankwbrown
    frankwbrown Posts: 13,992 Member
Didn't a couple math nerds -- familiar with what "a googol" is -- think that would make a great name for their search engine? However, aren't the number of search results usually shy of a googol?

And speaking of how to order a list of things, does anyone have (or want) a copy of this dictionary?

Wouldn't that be where certain words are found in close proximity to one another in text?

how have I managed to live 6 decades without knowing that?? :D

Or, maybe you forgot you knew it?
Don't less frequently used words eventually get relegated to the mental equivalent of an offsite storage locker? 😂

Why do you think I continue to use exotic language in my posts? Isn't it so I don't forget the words and they remain mentally available on those occasions where they are most apropos?

Isn't it best to use common words except under exigent circumstances?

is it also best to be succinct and to the point without waffling on and using uneccesary wordage which just clogs the sentence and without diverting into irelevant tangents such as what I had for breakfast, which by the way was yoghurt and fruit, varies depending on what is in season and available in my area for a reasonable cost, I do have to watch my budget after all and groceries are not getting any cheaper, as you are no doubt aware as this surely affects you too and that breakfast is what I often have on weekends, not so much on workdays and what was the topic again?
