😜 Biking Across the U.S.A ★ On My Stationary Bike 😜

Using my upright stationary bike (Schwinn IC3) I've decided to challenge myself to a fun biking journey making my way across the U.S.A from one coast to another.
Say what? 🤔
Starting in the West Coast (Santa Monica, CA) and heading toward the East Coast, (Charleston, SC) my plan is to ride the actual 2,637 *map* miles between these two cities, on my Schwinn IC3 Upright Stationary Bike
While obviously I will not be leaving the comforts of my own living-room during this challenge, I will be physically pedaling ALL 2,637 *map* miles to complete this challenge and with a little imagination, along with the help of Google Maps, I'm looking forward to seeing where this challenge will take me...
Who knows...once I get to Charleston, SC, I may just do a 'Forrest Gump' move and keep on pedaling! 😂🤣
Currently my route looks something like this.....

For these next few weeks, my exercise days will be 3-5 days a week, Monday thru Friday.
I'm not going to be setting up any specific daily 'mileage' goals for right now.
My main focus right now is just to get into a good habit of getting on my bike and doing a little 'something', even if it's just 1/2 mile. It's better than nothing.
As my overall motivation and stamina improves, hopefully I can ride a little further and/or increase the level of resistance on my bike.
Today I kicked off this challenge by riding 2 miles!! (09:37)
I'm fairly certain I didn't go breaking any records but I'm happy that I finally got my butt in gear to get this challenge going. Getting started is always the hardest part...it should be all downhill from here....ummmm yeah, well, so to speak, haha!

Good luck. Garmin has challenges on its website for walking, elevation, steps, biking, etc. Some are time based, some distance. I don't think they have any distance biking challenges, but I've done several of the walking/steps challenges, including walking the Appalachian Trail, Tour de Mont Blanc etc. It's fun to have goals, even virtual ones, since I can't do them in real life.
I have a stationary bike as well. I have had the goal the past couple of years of riding 1000 miles a year. Riding isn't my main activity, just something I do on non-running days to burn energy. The goal helps keep me motivated on days I don't really want to work out.3 -
WooHooo! I think I made it out of the Santa Monica Beach parking lot with another 2 miles under my belt. (it's a big parking lot, haha)
At this rate I should get to Charleston, SC around....ohhh I'd say 2027? 😂🤣

Truth be told, I didn't FEEL like biking when I first woke up this morning...it took a few cups of coffee and a little self-pep talk to get myself motivated, BUT...once I got going, I was proud of myself for not procrastinating too long, or worse yet, blowing it off altogether.

I have the best excuse in the world for not putting in any biking mileage for last week...
My husband and I spent the entire week, and then some, with our two grandchildren 🥰🥰
What was supposed to be a few days of caring for my grandchildren (out of state) over the long Labor Day weekend, ended up being almost 11 days, lol. We just got back home yesterday.
Trying to make up for some lost mileage, I spent almost 30 minutes on the bike this morning and I'm happy to announce that I made it to my first destination. (Los Angeles, CA)
I have 36 miles to go before reaching Ontario, CA
