On a quest to lose weight so I have energy to get through the day without feeling rough. Hopefully tidying up the diet and getting fit will fix it. 4 stone to lose to get to a healthy weight.

I can so relate to you. I have zero energy most days. It affects my food choices.1

I have so much energy I make myself crazy somedays.... lol1 -
1 to 2 litres of water, 1 coffee. Try to drink more but forget. Live in hot climate, underestimate how much I should be drinking sometimes. I heard adding salt can help. I avoid salt because i dont like it, should I include it more.
Fruit, labneh and crackers for breakfast or a homemade sandwhich, sometimes yoghurt with fruit and muesli.
Watermelon is a regular snack.
Lunch varies, sometime leftovers from the previous days dinner. Sometimes rice, chicken veg, salmon sandwiches. Varies day to day.
Dinner is quite varied, usually pasta rice or potatoes with veg and meat of some type. Like a papa j pizza once a week or a takeaway of some description.
Some days i eat more sometimes less. Some days the appetite is raging some days less so.
Been taking b vits. Sleep is between 6-8 hours a day.
Would love your feedback. Sure could do with an overspill of energy. At the moment just normal day to day stuff is hard to get through. Exersize helps for a short while, but recovery takes ages! 😊0 -

Ok a few things stand out to me.
For me simple carbs spike my energy level and a few hrs later the carb crash happens and I get really tired.
I now eat very low carbs and zero ultra processed foods. Protein keepe me full longer and I dont get the carb crash.
lookup low carb or keto diet and try it for a week.
My typical day looks like this.
Breakfast 2 eggs and coffee
Break time banana and apple
Lunch meat snack sticks and big leafy green salad
Break time another piece of fruit
Dinner low carb dinner like stir fry with no rice / chili / burgers or sausage no bun
If I eat this way, I have a ton of energy and no carb crash.
Another magical bullet is zero alcohol. It ruins my day and makes me instantly sleepy!1 -
If ‘recovery takes ages’, and by this, I’m guessing that you mean two or three days, you may want to ease up on your exercise a bit until you are used to it.2
