Gaining weight with fast metabolism

Trying to gain weight with fast metabolism is hard. I’m eating all the right foods, working out 5 days a week. Any other suggestions to see progression

How many calories are you honestly eating? Do you measure all you food, finish your meals, et higher calories or lower calorie foods?0

The amount of one post wonders has reached extreme levels.. almost wonder if it’s just to keep up community engagement - like fake accounts on IG.
I’ve written a few responses and then deleted because it just seems like such a waste of dedicated poster time to engage and have no response. It’s all over MFP. Now I just really want to conserve my time for people who I know engage.

Hi. I would honestly appreciate any advice. I am wanting to gain weight and right now I usually don’t have breakfast and will have lunch and dinner. I figured I would start off by eating a breakfast and then a snack before lunch and then have 2 snacks after lunch before dinner. I am 5’7, 130lbs (Male). I also do not exercise. Snack ideas I have are like nuts, yogurt, cheese, PB&J sandwiches but I am not sure how much I should eat of what. I want to gain like 20lbs. Thanks!0

Honestly its quite simple, for your size you should need about 2,300 calories everyday (provided you exercise) although u shud check yourself on a calorie calculator website to be sure. Once you know yours start to eat afew hundred calories over it or however much its your preference really to gradually gain weight. If you can be strict on yourself and consistently stick to it everyday along with beginning some type of exercise (preferably weightlifting if your looking to gain mass) you will begin to put on weight and see gradual changes if you can be consistent. I’ll be honest im not all too sure on what type of foods exactly but i think the most important thing wud be to get your calories in.1 -

YES, @pawsingh21 should test out some calculator estimate, to see the average weekly results over 4-6 weeks. If no weight gain at all, add maybe 250 calories per day and repeat the experiment.
I eat close to 2300 calories daily to maintain my weight, as a 5'5" 130s pound, 68 y/o woman. Calculators think it'd be more like 1500-1800.
Calculators estimate based on population averages. Individuals vary from average.
People who struggle to gain weight are probably somewhat more likely to require more calories than the average person (or to have a lower than average appetite, or both).
Besides getting the calories in, it's essential to get adequate nutrition, especially solid protein, for best quality weight gain. And yes, challenging (but not punitive) strength exercise, ideally lifting or bodyweight strength exercise for muscle gain, and some moderate cardio for health. It's fine to phase in exercise types/duration/frequency as a beginner, because persistent fatigue is counter-productive.1 -

I mean, I'm 5ft6 150, my maintenance is roughly around 5000. But that's based off my life style. No one size fits all.3
