I can't begin to tell you how impressed I am with this. A loss EVERY SINGLE MONTH for (soon to be) two years now. This has got to be the most inspiring things I've seen on MFP. Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us!

@deepwoodslady - Thank you - we have a steady shrinker award on the biggest loser challenge that I am in - I havee never made it - you need to lose every week of the12 week challenge. I am so impressed by those that have accomplished it - but I guess in theory I am one too - just in MY way!

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 64 years old and from Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
    250’s; 240’s; 230’s; 220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180’s; 170's; 160's; 150’s

This Challenge Starting Weight (from Oct 31st): 190.6
    Goal: 186.6 (Four lb Loss)
    Actual Ending Weight: xxxxx
    Total Lost/Gained this month: xxxxx

**********************ONE DAY, ONE STEP, ONE DECISION AT A TIME********************

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

    FIRST HALF OF THE MONTH

11/01-190.6-(Trend Weight 192.1)- I was able to weigh in after all though this is typically a no-weigh Friday. There is no school today for my DGS so I was able to hop on the scale at around my normal time. I’m shocked to see the scale did not go up. My meals were good yesterday but then I got into my DGS’s Halloween bag and had two fistfuls of candy bar minis / m&m’s. I give away small bottles of Sunny D and Capri Sun drink pouches (no red dyes in either) so there was no candy temptation here UNTIL he came in with a bunch of candy that he’s smart enough to ration even at age 6. I could learn a lot! Anyway, God was Good and I was blessed with the exact same weight as yesterday and a trend weight that went down. I am 1.6 lbs lighter than the start of this round and for that I am grateful. I'm off to a decent start. Good luck to all, let's make it a good month!

11/02-190.4-(Trend Weight 192.0)- I was expecting a bigger drop considering yesterday was a good day. However, exercise was lacking, water was low and no TMI today so I guess I’ll just be happy with the 0.2 for now. I’m not sure what today will bring. I’m thinking of heading out of town so I can pick up some supplies including my new favorite low carb bread. Lots of bills to pay online though, so we’ll see. Out-of-town would mean dinner out so I better plan my lunch accordingly, just in case! Good luck everyone this round. I plan to dip into the 180’s this round come Hell or High Water. Even if it’s only 189.9 to start. Welcome to all the Newbies. It’s such a pleasure to have you join us!

@ozdeelite Thank for the compliment! Another beautiful and delicious looking dish you've made! Yummy and healthy!

@iLive2Walk Gorgeous river pics from your walk! Thanks for sharing. Maybe I'll be inspired at some point to get my butt back out there but right now it feels so darn cold to me. No excuses though, right?

11/03-189.0-(Trend Weight 191.7)- I’m just so damn happy right now. Yay, into the 180’s!!!! Of course, I don’t quite take my shoes off, let down my hair and pour myself a drink until I’m comfortably at the number 7, (as in 187 point anything) since my weight can increase up easily by several pounds in one day putting me back over the top. Especially if I’m naughty. However, dipping my toes in the 180 pond sure feels good right now. I did not end up going out of town yesterday. That helped. Today is my foodie daughters 30th birthday. I’ll try not to blow it.

Look what I snagged yesterday. It was listed on on our Town's Buy Nothing page on Facebook. She also had a spin bike - but someone snatched that up pretty quick. First time I have ever used one, it was fun. It squeaks a little, but what do you want for free. Greg says he can probably fix that!

Hi everyone. Following yesterday’s appointment I have found out my bladder is stuffed. It’s not functioning properly and is unlikely to function again. So I’m stuck with a catheter indefinitely at this point. I need minor surgery urgently to dilate my urethra under general anaesthetic in hospital. I also need to see a specialist in Sydney- 5 hours away to further study my bladder because we have no idea why it’s so damaged. I’m quite depressed regarding this news as I had hoped the urologist could just fix it and that would be the end of it. But no - it’s going to be a long term problem with a darn catheter and constant testing etc.

Ate nothing but sugary 💩 yesterday and went to bed. I have to learn to live with a catheter now. This is my reality.

Hi all! I was going to sit out November but after a disasterous first day - thought better of it (and yes - I missed you all) so here I am again. I need to make my life easier - spend too much time on the computer - so might not be as talkative as I have been in the past, but I'm here and cheering you all on!

I wasn't going to do this - but someone asked for it - so here it is (and I'm glad she gave me the push I needed):

    My October Reflection:

I made it to my goal weight. Now the hard part starts – to maintain it. Six hundred and thirty-three days, averaging just shy of a pound a week, down 88 pounds. I lost .9 pounds in September. In the Biggest Loser Challenge that I am in they have an award for being a steady shrinker – those that never gained each and every week during the round. I have always been in awe of those that accomplish this – something that was out of my reach each round. But when I look back at my journey, I realized I was a steady shrinker – just in MY way. I lost weight every month, instead of every week.

I also made my 2,024 miles in 2024 goal on October 10. I beat my last year’s pace by 3 ½ weeks (I met it on November 2, 2023), even with my meniscus tear earlier in the year. I signed up for next year as well.

I hit the 1,700-mile mark on my intentional exercise miles – just on track to make it. As of today (Nov 5), I am at 1,721 miles with 56 days to go. That is an average of 5.4 miles a day – I think I can make it.

The gel injection for my knee has been wonderful. I do have a little pain when I get up in the morning (and sometimes during the night), but once I get moving, I feel good.

I read Heart and Soul by Nora Roberts (didn’t enjoy it), and The Other Mrs. Miller by Allison Dickson -pretty good. Also finished re-reading Chamber of Secret along with the Hogwarts Challenge. My Biggest Loser Group is reading The Beck’s Diet Solution together – enjoying that as well. Just started a new one – Devious, by Lisa Jackson but only a couple pages in so can’t tell whether it’s a good one.

A few obstacles this month – going for an overnight with my sisters for a girl’s weekend at the casino, then Thanksgiving. And then the hardest of them all - the last weekend in November Greg and I are going on our annual trip to Newport, Rhode Island. We go to see the Christmas lights and do some shopping. But the highlight of the weekend is our food crawl. We do a “Taste of Newport” night – we try out different restaurants for a pre-drink, appetizer, dinner, dessert, and after dinner drink.

    My Goals for November:

•Stay at my goal weight, I would like to get a three-pound buffer, so it is easier to maintain.
•Continue to log everything – daily tracking of food, exercise and other SMART goals. I tried doing it weekly instead of daily – but not quite ready to get there yet – maybe once I get that three- pound buffer.
•I also was going to weigh-in less but that didn’t work for me either – so will continue with my daily weigh-ins.
•Catch up with the Daily Accountability and Hogwarts Groups twice weekly - Check in Daily with the BL group – need to start limited my screen time and stop obsessing!
    •Average 14K steps per day
    •Walk every day
    •Strength Train 3 days a week
    •Cardio 3+ days per week
•Full Body Stretch workout – once a week
    •Stay under sodium goal
•Get to my intentional exercise goal by the end of the year – 5.4 miles (110 minutes of exercise) daily

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 64 years old and from Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

    11/03-189.0-(Trend Weight 191.7)-

11/04-190.6-(Trend Weight 191.6)- Damn, back up to 190.6. Celebrated my daughter’s birthday with dinner out of town yesterday and then cake and ice cream. Celebration or self-sabotage? Probably a little of both honestly. I threw all caution to the wind and ate anything I wanted instead of what I needed. I’ll be working hard on this set-back today. Rainy and cold so I’ll have to get some movement in inside the house. Rain expected tomorrow too. THIS is why I like to land on a 7. I can just NEVER EVER trust myself at this point. Okay, no more beating myself up. Moving forward in a positive and enlightened way.

11/05-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- I was in such a hurry this morning I gulped down a big glass of water with all my meds before weighing. Non-typical schedule today threw me off. I will be leaving soon to help a lady in our small community get to her physical therapy. She had major stroke and can’t drive right now and posted on facebook last night that she needs a ride to the next small town over (about 20 minutes) for the therapy. This involves actually helping her do her therapy while there too. We’re not really what you would call friends but more like acquaintances and someone I only see in passing maybe twice per year. But we know each other’s hearts enough that she is comfortable with me even in such a vulnerable position. I helped her there a couple of months ago and it was horrific what condition she was in. Luckily she can walk but with a very strange gait. I hope to see improvement in her this time as I know how horribly depressing this is for this (normally) working and vibrant woman .

Hi everyone. Well my weight shot up overnight. Annoyed. But made a delicious vegetarian lasagna that was loaded with sodium.

I’m going to have to try and live normally again despite my catheter. Not sure how I will manage working in aged care but I’m going to try and go back to work and walk etc like I used to. I need to empty my valve every hour to prevent bloating so it will be challenging but I’ve spent the last 5 weeks at home on the couch.

I thought the urologist would dilate me and then the catheter would be removed and life was supposed to return to normal. Hard to accept the new normal is living with a catheter, ongoing blood and urine tests and a trip to Sydney for further testing. I know it could be worse but at 42 you don’t expect to have to live like this.

On the positive side all this has made me start better eating habits - I’m thoroughly enjoying actually cooking food and eating mostly vegetarian meals. I still have a sugar addiction though - always want a chocolate oat bar after dinner but am going to try and stop that. It’s part of my “routine “ but it’s a bad habit and I’m going to try sticking to nuts and fruit for snacks after I finish my box of oat bars.
