@Ginny They had mentioned they want us to pack everything up and leave for 2 weeks then come back. We both believe that if we leave for 2 weeks, we leave for good. The Ranger in charge also told me (not hubby) that he needed to talk to us about needing to leave. Things may change now. Also, if we leave, they have no one else to watch the campground. There will be no camp hosts at this park at all.

@Lisa The rain storm we got Friday brought us 8.75 inches of rain, Saturday another 4.5, and yesterday we had another 1/2 inch of rain. Keep in mind this is a desert and the average YEARLY rainfall is somewhere around 12 inches.
Roswell, New Mexico receives an average of less than one foot of rain per year. The long-term annual average precipitation for Roswell is 12.39 inches, while the 30-year normal (1981-2010) is 12.91 inches.
New Mexico is an arid state, and most of the rain and snow that falls returns to the atmosphere. On average, only 3.4% of precipitation replenishes rivers, streams, reservoirs, and groundwater reserves. The wettest parts of New Mexico are the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the north, which receive about 40 inches of annual precipitation.
So we got more than a year’s worth of rain in 2 weeks counting the 4.5 inches of rain 2 weeks ago which caused the ‘flood of a century’ in downtown Roswell.

Going to get 3 jabs today before the PT. DH was going to go, but not sure now. He went to bed very late last night. Still sleeping here at 9:45 am. We need to leave by 10:30 to get the shots, have lunch then I go to the PT.

@Lisa I’ll be sure to let you know if that wormhole opens to here and Egg shows up! 🛸

@Whidislander Hi Whidi! I'm Penny. I don't know about the whole no shampoo kick but I do know that washing his hair with ACV has greatly improved my husband's hair health. He has always had bad dandruff and after a few months of ACV (it's in an Aveeno shampoo product) his hair is much nicer, no visible dandruff, and most of all for him the general itchiness is gone! I'm interested to hear about your journey. Good luck! :)

Heather ~ All of the paintings look great! I especially like Edie's as it reminds me of a fairy forest.

Heather your escalopes sound like a yummy veal piccata, sans capers. I dunnow, that model sure could be you…
Lisa Egg’s mouse induced stomach age mirrors Mooch’s deer leg pukey tummy. Ah the joys of pet care. If the trouble persists I’ll have to find a female gyn, wouldn’t be comfortable with my PCP. Con VERY grats on October success. Yay Corey and heck yeah you’re keeping him!
Annie so glad the symptom was not what you feared and that solid food is not triggering flare up. ((hugs))
    Margaret sssnow??? Already?!? :noway:
Barbie thank you for sharing how gratitude gets you through. You are an inspiration. Sure hope Jake’s learned his lessons. ((hugs))
Kay “not that kind of doctor”! Brava for blasting that plateau.
Rita saw some of the flood videos, grateful you are not completely cut off. The Jim story just keeps getting sadder. Fingers X’d for your first PT session and safe travels.
Rebecca when does your youngest arrive stateside?
Allie con VERY gratulations on taking off those pounds. How do you feel? the sMyles and Delia pics.
Lanette thanks for the sunset maple and Phil’s my pharmacist link.
Debbie praying your asthma eases soon, and the stress that makes it worse.
Michele would love to see pics of Ganon and all the kittens. Just sayin’
Machka ok when will you catch us up on what you’ve been doing? ;)
Pip ((hugs)) for you and Kirby. Hard to adjust to aging abilities. Do you suspect there was another reason for his fall?

    Gratitudes:
Sunday-the breakfast casserole made to use up stale bread was a big hit at fellowship. The citrus salad, not so much, means have prep done for breakfast the next few days ;)
Saturday-when the branch from of one of the redwood trees blew down last night, it didn’t hit the house or anything else important.

October summary: Move more: average steps 5295 down from September’s 6525. Line dance and BB&B ok, Zumba and PT need work. Fuel better: CI<CO-some huge overages, AF & sugar need improvement. October average 131.5 up from September’s 130.9. Bonus: completed the 30 day decluttering challenge, carried it forward a few days, kept potting shelf, desk, keyboard, work table kitchen and bathroom counters as clear as they ever were.

Decluttering challenge Day 38/30 Desktop redux.
38-Desktop got re-cluttered with voting materials. Bit the bullet, reviewed the information book, gritted my teeth and filled in the ballot. Materials recycleld, will drop ballot off on the way from BB&B to line dance. Whew!
Only through pg 3 but time to break fast and get ready for BB&B

    Later, lighter, lovelies!

Barbara - honestly, the pessary works wonders. It's just once. Does the job. Amazon to the rescue.

We got the advance Saga brochure today for Winter 2026. :o We have decided to throw all caution to the winds and book for March 2026. Horribly expensive, but we reckon we haven't got too many years left on this earth. >:) I am going to call them tomorrow at 9 am to secure our very special cabin. <3:D It's 26 nights! Croatia, with many stops there, because it is a farewell cruise for the Croatian captain. Also Malta and Sicily.
Here's hoping our cabin is available.

Much love to all and hope your weather isn't too bad.

    MFP Weekly Check-In for November 4, 2024

Rita in Roswell NM - With everything that has been happening, my weight went up 3.2 pounds since last week. Eating candy and drinking wine has to stop! I’ll get a handle on it. Went for 2.5 mile walk this morning. Once PT starts tomorrow I’ll have more exercises to do. All will help!

Debbie in Napa Valley CA - Finally remembering to check in (weighed the last two weeks but forgot to check in) 148.6 dressed (because it was too cold to weigh with my fuzzy pj's off this morning.)

Sue in WA State - Well too much sodium this week and I regained the pound and one-half I had lost. Hopefully it will come off again with lots of water this week. Exercise is going well. Chair yoga really does a number on my legs.

Barbara on the Southern Oregon Coast - WT yesterday up to 130.7. Weekly average down to 130.5, Started tracking sugar, CI<CO, AF again this month. Weekly average steps 5994, better than October but still short of 7K+ goal. Continued BB&B, line dancing, Saturday dog group. PT & Zumba not yet.

Lanette SW WA State – Weight staying in range at 158. Working on strategies to get after this prediabetes - recent labs are encouraging. Still house walking, incorporating some sitting elliptical and farmer’s carry.

Yesterday we had our first Christmas market. It was disappointing, it was very nicely laid out, in a good location and well organized. The only complaint I have is that there was no advertising other than FB. If they had had signage out on the roads it would have been much better attended I think.
Oh well, we made our table fee back and it was for the Canadian Mental Health Association but kept in the community office.
Lauryn and the Grands spent the night Friday night so that she could help me. The Grands spent the day with Rodger.

Our door opens into the kitchen but blocks our hallway off in doing so.

Rodger was coming up the hallway as I entered the door today. I came in the house and he says “you hit me with the door”
I said “Didn’t you put your hand out”
He says “yes but it hit my hand that’s part of my body so I can say you hit me with a door in court.
    😂😂😂
He makes me laugh almost daily.

I have our first local craft fair in two weeks. I am concerned about how well it will go. It is their first one. Table space seems very small compared to the other shows we have done- just one 6ft table that is against the wall so no way of adding an extra table behind it like we do at other shows. The table fee is quite a bit less than at the other shows and only a 4 or 5 hr show(an hour away from home but close to my mom's). $35 table fee plus donate an item with a value of at least $20 for their raffle.
One fun thing is one of my old classmates all the way back to 5th grade will also have a booth their. I have only seen her twice in 44 yrs. Once at my best friend's funeral-they were next door neighbors and the other at a big reunion we did for the band/chorus teacher about 10 yrs ago.

I need to figure out how to maximize the small area we have.

We will also be doing another one up there in December- no table fee and we have done that show before(always had a fee though so this is a nice break)

I am not sure if I am doing the shows by myself or if dh will be going with me. I am planning on doing them alone. If he can go(will be a last minute decision on his part-depends on his mother). If I do them alone, I will stay at mom's before and/or after.

Machka - will you be having a quieter November?

    Tracey in Edmonton

    Not so far!

Still scrambling to catch up on everything at work and home.

We've been living in our house since mid July ... finished the last bit of moving mid August. But it's getting on for mid November and we still need to unpack. We've unpacked the basics so I can dress and go to work and so we can eat but that's about it.

And I don't think we have a full 2 day weekend at home till sometime in December - maybe Christmas. Lots of weekend events on this spring/summer.

    Tuesday

Went for a walk at lunch and also climbed 12 flights of stairs
    83ca2m8dj3q8.png

Plus I finally unpacked from Canada and from the long, long weekend in October.

I've got one load of laundry on, but there will be more in a few days as soon as this one is dry. I'm usually on top of my laundry - one load a week - but not counting the load that's on, I'm about 2 weeks behind.

And I've rearranged a few things to make unpacking from the move slightly easier.

    Good morning beautiful ladies!

Welcome Penny in TX! How did the apnea test go? Many of us have had that. Mine comes and goes which is unexpected.

Heather Yay for the new cruise! It's good to hear you so excited.

Machka Yay for climbing stairs again.

Tracey and Barbara thank you for the well wishes. I'm doing much better, slowly building my diet. I'm at 500 calories of tea and white rice and eggs. No fiber. So maybe some yogurt soon. Plus I have chicken noodle soup in the fridge.

My colonoscopy is scheduled for February, which seems like a long time to wait. I'm so glad I jumped on it now. I had to coordinate with my sister to watch Dad and with my ride buddy, so I ended up changing it three times, and waiting on hold for a half hour each time. But it's done.

Today I'm going to try to get my driver's license renewed. I have almost four hours to do it, and then pick up Dad at his class.

Then I think groceries can wait until Friday. That's my plan.

Have a great day! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

PT went well yesterday. All my normal walking and stretching helped a lot! I showed them a list of 12 yoga poses I wanted to add for my back and got the ok for that. They helped me set my back brace better and I got a good 20 minute massage on my back to loosen the tight muscles (I wonder why with all the stress?). I’ll be going back once a week for a bit. Good news anyway. And on my way home from there, I got a text that our bridge was open on one lane, so yay! No 39 mile drive back home, only 12 miles!

We were told that we had to leave for a couple weeks, but needed to empty out our site. If we do that, it will be forever, not just 2 weeks. So we are planning on looking for a rental house/trailer or a new camper in January. Waiting until after the holiday stress to start that. Just doing casual looking right now. I think we can find something. We will leave the park graciously, however…….. my DH wants to stay, hence the newer and bigger camper. I love the camping and the free housing costs right so it mostly depends on the Ranger Supervisor. I will still be looking at house/trailer rentals in January.

MRI today, glad they fixed the bridge. Must get ready for that. DH is going with me as he needs to get his jabs today. His fault for not getting up yesterday! The big baby wants me to go with him, so.. probably have lunch out again. Bad lunch yesterday. I had a sonic Black Forest milk shake, cheeseburger, and fried pickles. Lovely! But not really healthy. Did good the rest of the day.

Morning y'all. Thinking this morning on my rebellious feelings towards weighing and measuring food and how each diet I start of with big losses and always stall out till I commit to accuracy towards my food consumption. Why do I always think, "This time I can eyeball it and be successful?" Why do I always fight this stage when it is both easy and useful. Yes it takes time but really just mere moments right? My adult son 22 has moved into his own apartment last week and although I know this is the natural progression of life I find myself missing him terribly. My biggest accomplishment this week will be to not comfort myself with food. Love to all! Thanks for listening.

@grandmallie that is so much money! I which hoas would be considerate of the financial times we are living in. I'm sorry you are dealing with that. Hopefully you and others speaking out at the hoa meetings will curb the crazy spending and demands. I will pray on this for you. Hope things get better!
