Women 200lb+, Let's Have A Notable November!!!

🍁Hello, ladies, and Happy November!

🍂We've got two months until the end of 2024! Let's try to fit in as much neat, nifty, and notable stuff as we can. We've still got time to make a dent in our goals and we're going to continue to work hard.

🍁What do you hope to accomplish this month or before the year is out?

🍂Sometimes, we put ourselves last, especially towards the end of the year with so many holidays and family obligations to keep us busy. Let's remember that we are also important and deserve time to nuture ourselves.

🍁 What's something that you can do exclusively for yourself this month?

🤎If you've never been here before, please know you are welcome to join at any point in the month. All you have to do is post something, and then BAM! you're one of us.

🤎In this group, we post our weekly and monthly goals and provide support and motivation to each other as we share our triumphs and our struggles. This group is all about accountability.

🤎All are welcome and, if you think you belong here, you do! No matter how much you currently weigh or how you measure (or don't measure) your weight, we'd love to hear from you.

🤎Victories, both scale and non-scale, are great to hear about, but, conversely, we know that weight loss isn't all sunshine and rainbows. If you're going through a rough patch, please feel free to be honest and vent your heart out. The struggle is real and we're all here to support each other!

🍁This November, let's remember to never give up, to never surrender, and to do some truly notable things!🍁

    Good morning everyone!

    Thank you as always @RavenStCloud, for hosting this shindig month after month. We so appreciate you. :heart:

    🍁What do you hope to accomplish this month or before the year is out?

    I'm going to lose eight more pounds and see 172 on the scale before this year is out.

    🍁 What's something that you can do exclusively for yourself this month?

    I can keep up my journaling habit. It helps me de-stress, and I'm going to need that this month, haha.

    🍁 November Goals!🍁
    🍂 November GW Average: 176

    🤎November SW 11/1: 180.0 (average)
    🤎11/2: 180.0 average

    This morning I weighed in the closest to my average I have since I started, but that's fine. I did eat a little candy yesterday, logged it all, of course. I'm still just so tired, so I'm glad it's the weekend.

    Not that that helps, lol. Busy day today: J swim lessons, N gymnastics, going to Costco for the first time in my life (!!), and pirates with the boys tonight. Tonight for dinner, it's going to be that good Costco rotisserie chicken, and I'm excited about that. I'm going to make a panera mac and cheese esque recipe from @ livcarbonero as a side and see how it is:
    owhzgsktejno.png

    That should take care of my protein for the day, so hopefully I can have a couple pieces of candy or a hard cider while I play video games tonight. I'm going to pre-log my day this morning, we'll see how it shakes out.

    I also need to take a hot girl walk this morning before everything kicks off. Make sure I get those steps in.

    yesterday:
    ❌3rd / 4 workouts per week (I had a long walk, but I'm not counting walks)
    ✅> 8k steps
    ❌<= 1600 cal
    ✅32 minute self care
    ✅> 64oz water
    ✅>= 128g protein

    I'm going to retake my measurements today, see how we're doing in that department a month in. Maybe try on some of my smaller jeans 👀

    Yesterday was not great for calories, last week was not great for workouts. I'm going to improve on both, so that I can continue this momentum this month all the way to the end of the year. 59 days left until new year's eve.

    Have a great MONTH, everyone!

    Hi, great to see everyone on the November thread. I'm late to the game with this but I finally stepped on the scale this past Wen. and saw I gained two pounds. Two pounds in 2 weeks, sounds like a backslide to me. But I've doubled down, nipped it in the bud, I'm back to logging my calories and doing my daily walks again. I realized it is more important than ever this holiday season because there is so many sweets and treats floating around! I don't feel bad, and I don't feel angry at myself, I had a nice break, now it's time to get back on the horse. I'm ready. My new STG is to be 180 by the end of the year (I'm 185.5 now) and I feel it's completely do-able! In fact, if I play my cards right, I should be in the upper 170's.

    Jumping in to say hi and that I'm so glad this "group" pops up every month. Thank you, @RavenStCloud !
    This is an awesome group of people who aren't afraid to be vulnerable. thank you, everyone!! I start/stop joining in here but when I check in during the month, I'm always inspired and encouraged to see how consistent action produces consistent results. You guys are awesome!

    So my primary goal this month is to be consistent in showing up here and in working toward my goals.

    Rita
    Age 73
    November 2022: 238.2
    Current weight: I'm guessing 232 but not completely sure. I'll weigh tomorrow.
    November goal: 228.2

    I have a calendar that has 6 daily goals for November. I keep track of progress on that.
    1. Early morning shoulder/back exercises for better posture.
    I've been doing these before leaving the bedroom in the morning since Sept 1. I'll continue with that.
    2. Fitbit should record 7 hours of sleep. Last month my average was 7 hours, 2 minutes. It's always been less than 7 for the past couple of years I've been keeping track. Yay! Progress:)
    I'm in the habit of going to bed shortly after midnight and I need to go earlier. Only bad things happen after 11:00 (late night snacking habit)! And mindless scrolling or game playing :s
    3. Get 15 minutes of early morning sunlight to improve my circadian rhythm and improve sleep scores on fitbit.
    I actually sleep very well but on Sept. 1 I started sweeping my deck every single morning and I don't have so many vivid weird memorable dreams. I feel more peaceful when I wake up. And I love the cool fresh air, sometimes in the 40-50 degree zone. It's a wraparound deck and I end up with 1000-2000 steps depending on how forcefully I swing my broom!
    4. Photo organization. I have well over 25,000 photos on various SD cards and Flash Drives and can't find anything. I figured out a plan to get that done and have sorted over 4000 in the past few weeks. It's time to make some books!
    5. Create! I'm practicing free motion quilting spiderwebs to quilt my Spooky Shelfie quilt that I'm putting together. SEW much fun ;)
    6. French. I have a 915 daily streak on duolingo so I can't quit now. I started this to prove to myself that I can stick to something I start and look at what happened! I can't believe it.

    I also have action and food goals but they're not so well planned as the others... no routine yet. I'll get that figured out this month.
    I fill a water jug every night and put it in the fridge which is a new improvement. I usually get through the whole pitcher by the time I go to bed.

    I can see mini changes I've made and they happen by just doing the same thing over and over.

    @lisakatz2 I've done the 2 pounds in 2 weeks thing as well. I made Halloween treats for the kiddos and ended up eating half the ingredients before it was all over. The sugar wreaked havoc on my system and inflammation went through the roof. I've been so sore everywhere the past couple of days, so I'm breaking up with sugar. I tell myself I'm allergic to it!

    @CupcakeCrusoe That mac and cheese looks amazing! and the protein count proves that it is!!
    Thanks for sharing the recipe.

    Good morning everyone!

    Weight slowly coming back down means we're moving the average down again, I'm now averaging in the 170's officially, 179.9!

    Yesterday:
    ❌1st / 4 workouts per week (I had a long walk, but I'm not counting walks)
    ✅> 8k steps
    ✅<= 1600 cal
    ✅32 minute self care
    ✅> 64oz water
    ✅>= 128g protein

    I didn't do my workout yesterday. I went to Costco for the first time, and it was AMAZING! But so overwhelming, and I got home and just sat, lol.

    I've gotten really into Magic the Gathering lately, and it's a great way to keep my hands and mind occupied so I'm not thinking about snacking.

    Today! I need to fill up my tumbler, make my food plan for the day, and kick it in gear.

    @lisakatz2 I love this mindset! You're refreshed, ready to go!

    @nebslp I love all your daily actions! It sounds so peaceful and fulfilling, from sweeping the porch to a truly amazing Duolingo streak!

    Have a great day, everyone!

    I decided to make checking in here part of my daily computer routine...read the news, check emails, do a French lesson and now ... myfitness pal. It all takes about an hour especially on those really hard French days. Today I got a 64%! Getting 100% seems to be a part of the past!
    So far today I've checked off 4 boxes. Still have to work on photos and sew but those usually happen later in the day.

    I've decided to make a daily walk part of my increased movement plan. There's a deer blind located at the edge of our property and going there would make for a nice walk. I could take my camera and hope for some animal action when I get there. This week I'll see how it will fit with another routine so it sticks.

    As for food, still working on a plan to eat healthier. At least the candy is all gone so I don't have to look at that. My husband has a stash of candy bars all over the house but they don't bother me because they're not mine. It's only when I buy them that I have an issue. So what's the solution to that, LOL!?!

    @CupcakeCrusoe I'm intrigued hearing about Magic the Gathering. I hadn't heard of that one before so I had to look it up. Looks interesting but kinda complicated. It's good to have something to keep you occupied on your down time. It doesn't sound like you have much of that though!

    Have a good week, everyone!

    Good morning everyone!

    Still slowly coming down off that high, still bringing the average down with me. it will be interesting to have three months of exact calorie counts and see what my cycle does to my weight.

    yesterday:
    ❌1st / 4 workouts per week (I had a long walk, but I'm not counting walks)
    ✅> 8k steps
    ✅<= 1600 cal
    ✅32 minute self care
    ✅> 64oz water
    ✅>= 128g protein

    Today! I told the girls I'd made them dragon noodles, and I've made room in my day such that I can have them, too. Tonight at the gym will be pole conditioning and chair choreography, and I'm excited for that.

    Tomorrow will be the longest day in a while- I'm an election official, so I'll be at the polling place from 5AM to set up to probably 10PM after all ballots have been counted and reported. I can't leave. Which is good for my diet, at least! I can't eat anything besides what I bring, because that's literally not an option, lol. Also I'll easily hit my step goal, being there that long on my feet.

    So I'm enjoying my desk job today, the fact that I don't have to talk to anyone for most of my day, haha.

    @nebslp it is a fun hobby for being engrossed, as there are so many rules about playing, and constructing decks, and all that. I love that we'll be seeing you here every day! I know the pain of getting to the point of duolingo where you can't get them all right anymore, haha.

    Have a great day, everyone! If you're a USian, I hope you've voted already or will go vote tomorrow!

    Nov 1 marked one year of weight loss for me. I the past year I've lost 80 lbs and gone from morbidly obese bmi to overweight bmi. In the next year I want to lose 40 more lbs, reach a healthy bmi, and get consistent with exercise by walking and doing resistance training a few times per week.

    🍁 What do you hope to accomplish this month or before the year is out? I would like to lose around 5-8 lbs before the year is over. I'm also hoping to schedule Lasik eye surgery sometime in Dec!

    🍁 What's something that you can do exclusively for yourself this month? Be kind and patient with myself. The past few mos have been hectic and I wasn't able to reach my weight loss and exercise goals but that's ok, I'm still doing great. In the past I would've been discouraged but I'm trying to focus on the days ahead. I'm working hard in therapy and also in my physical health efforts!

    Thank you, @RavenStCloud !
    Keri
    71 years old
    Challenge Starting Weight: 260, Pre-retirement weight 262 before May.
    UGW: 167 (healthy weight for a senior woman my height)
    5'6"

    I do check-ins when I lose:
    8/1: 254.8
    10/1: 249.2 I lost .4 lbs since yesterday.
    10/29: 248
    11/4/2024 252 Halloween weight gain
    Weight loss since retiring almost 13 lbs.

    November Goals:
    • 30 minutes of exercise 6 days a week. Long walks to improve stamina.
    • November GW: Get into the mid to lower half of the 240s -
    • Keep my water intake up
    • Keep getting 7+ hours of sleep
    • Meal plan and cook 3+ dinners
    • Keep researching nutrition and metabolic health.

    🍁What do you hope to accomplish this month or before the year is out?

    This month I plan to get fitter. Exercise 6 days a week and come up with an exercise schedule that hits all the key areas but I need more stamina. I want to focus on being able to walk longer.

    End of the Year -I want to have lost 8-10 lbs from today’s weight.

    🍁 What's something that you can do exclusively for yourself this month?

    I need to come up with an exercise schedule that addresses cardio for my heart health, strength and stability. Of course there is always stretching. I need to figure out what this means for me an older out of shape woman with joint issues.

    I have been concentrating on planning and cooking healthy food, losing weight and getting exercise. This month I am prioritizing improving my fitness, strength and stamina. I am going to my sons for Thanksgiving and will probably be doing some walking so I planned long walks last week but was having a weird hip issue. I was going for PT on Thursday for a shoulder issue so mentioned this hip issue and she said if my hip was going out when I turned then make wider turns and to use walking sticks when I go for a walk. Her practical, no nonsense advice made me realize I wasn’t going to let this hip issue stop me. We went out to dinner that night and walked around a bit afterwards. The next day we walked to the ballot box with walking sticks and yesterday was aquafit. Ironically what ever was bothering my hip went away. I am wondering if it wasn’t this exercise video I was doing before that bothered my hip. I think I may get back to it when I have lost more weight.

    So I have made progress in all the areas I have been working on but I am not satisfied with where my stamina is yet so I am going to focus this.

    @RavenStCloud Thank you

    @CupcakeCrusoe I think I may post on this thread this month more like you to track my exercise.

    @nebslp I love your solution of sweeping the deck daily to get outside. I need more NEAT so something like this would be good for me. Maybe beating my husband from racking the leaves from our big red maple tree in the front. I am going to have to recover from Halloween treats too. I make hot apple cider and roast pumpkin seeds but it is the candy I have a hard time resisting. My youngest who lives at home took the leftover candy to donate it to a program she was in this summer. So glad it is gone. I have been very good all summer reducing my sweets and I think it helps because once the candy was gone I didn’t crave it like I usually do. We went to France last fall and I was using Duolingo to try to help me remember my high school French. I missed it once we got back from France.
    I retired at the beginning of this summer and don't have my daily routine down but I do have the hour on the computer including reading news but also logging my food and exercise. I also have a spreadsheet. I post here when there is something to report but to get more exercise I plan to do this every weekday so I am not just reporting weight loss but progress with being more active.

    @mmatch_latte I too had a bad October but I know that I have had a good summer so plan to get back to that.

    It's 8:15 PM and I'm finally getting around to doing my computer work. I had an early lunch with a friend and we chatted for 2 hours. Then some shopping and when I got home my son was here visiting so that was a surprise treat. My son-in-law is a college asst. coach from Texas and his first game was on ESPN+ at 5 so I had to watch that, and now I'm just getting around to my morning things.

    11/4/24
    1. posture exercises :)
    2. sweep the deck :)
    3. 7 hours 28 min. of sleep :)
    4. Photo organization not yet
    5. Create not yet, probably won't happen now
    6. French :) 85%

    I didn't get my walk to the blind in yesterday because my granddaughter's softball team was playing in a tournament, and we can watch it on YouTube. It's awesome to be able to watch when the game is 3 hours away and we can't be there in person. They won all 5 games this weekend so it was extra fun. And the walk didn't happen today.. :|
    I'll be home tomorrow...no excuses then!!!

    I have an issue with eating chips before going to bed. It's sort of a habit now. My husband buys several bags a week. Several years ago I took them out of the line of sight and put them in the highest cabinet I could find. It helps in avoiding them sometimes but I can still reach them if I stand on my tiptoes. I eat more than necessary and want to break the habit. I don't think I can go cold turkey right now and not have something salty or crunchy at night so I bought a box of 18 individual chips bags at 150 calorie each. My goal is to have not eaten any of his chips all month and to have 1 little bag left on Dec. 1. I might be just fooling myself but I won't know unless I try.

    I've also been avoiding vegetables... why????? But today I bought my favorite yogurt salad dressing and made a salad with lettuce, carrots, and peas before eating a bowl of chili for supper. Baby steps!

    @CupcakeCrusoe WOOHOO! Reaching the 170's is awesome! I know how hard you've been working to get there. Great persistence and determination!!
    Thank you for your service at the polling place tomorrow. It will be a long day and I hope for only pleasant people and smiling faces to show up. We usually vote in person but were afraid we wouldn't be in our state this year, so we did the drop off ballots a couple of weeks ago.

    @mmatcha_latte Congratulations on your one year weight loss accomplishment! That's awesome!!!
    I love the phrase "Be patient and kind with myself". That would be a great mantra to say throughout the day.

    @KeriA I hear you on wanting to increase walking stamina. I can usually keep up with people (but my legs are shorter than most so I use that excuse a lot LOL) but don't ask me to carry on a conversation because all you will get from me is a lot of panting sounds. Making those long walks from parking lots to the field at softball games all summer helped me realize that I'm doing OK, but could do better with practice. At home I often use walking sticks, always if I'm walking in fields or uneven ground. They have kept me upright more than once and I think I go faster because I feel more stable. They take some pressure off of the joints, too.
    I'm a charts girl...don't know how to do spreadsheets. I love stats!!!

    11/5 249.8 Halloween weight lost :)
    Weight loss since retiring almost 13 lbs.

    I was planning to post this morning to let you know that I had a lovely longish walk with N (my youngest living at home - they just turned 30 this year) It was at this nearby park on the shoreline and we walked through a wetland with a stream that beavers dammed up but our park department put fish passages through their dams and armored them to keep the beavers from filling them up again. There were huge salmon swimming up the stream. It was a beautiful day. I have been using walking sticks now.

    I got back to my usual eating. My husband makes wonderful salmon and he couldn't get to it Sunday so we had it last night. We had 3 vegetables and salad with it as well. I had my usual Monday breakfast with whole grain oatmeal, nuts, seeds, cinnamon and fruit. N made bao with King Oyster mushrooms instead of cha sui (Chinese steamed bun, cha siu is bbq pork). So that was my lunch.

    So the other news is that I have lost all the Halloween weight. I still need to make up for not losing any weight in October but I am back in the 240s.

    @nebslp @kristinwoods919 That is how I started - one step at a time. I took out one sweet when I started on here a long time ago. Now I am down to 1 a day (dark chocolate) and we have whole grain pancakes on the weekend. My salty downfall is corn nuts but I haven't had any since last spring. I just can't keep things in the house. I have soda pop about once a month. I do not drink my calories anymore with the exception of Cafe Lattes. Now that I am retired we make coffee at home and I drink it black. I have a Latte on Fridays or I have to walk a mile to get it. However it is only milk. It has taken me years of one steps at a time to get down to what is working for me now. When I worked I had a Latte and pastry on the days I commuted into the office. Good thing I was working hybrid at the end.

    I got my little walk in today. What a treat! I always wonder why I don't spend more time outside once I do.

    I started writing down my food in my phone notes. I'm not inputting to Myfitnesspal. Just working on daily accountability right now.

    @KeriA Way to go with getting rid of the Halloween weight! I like the Kodiak pancakes that are high protein. They taste a little different but I like them.

    @kristinwoods919 You're back on track. That sounds like a great plan!

    Today was my weigh in day and hooray! I lost the two-pound holiday/vacation weight that I gained. I'm now 184. I'm determined to get below 180 before the year is done. I have plenty of time. I've been really consistent with my eating and exercise habits since I came back from vacation.

    A nice NSV, I'm fitting into XL in knit tops now, no more 1X. Wish the bottom half would shrink as fast as the chest but oh well, it will happen in time. Still an 18 in pants.

    Yesterday N and I went for an even longer walk. We walked to the nearest cafe and I walked partly back. It is over a mile away. I used my walking sticks again and that is going well. I have been eating lower calories now that I am back to my usual schedule. I made mushroom/lamb stroganoff last night with green beans and my husband added a salad and sour dough bread left over from our salmon dinner. Tonight I will make a creamy chicken rice dish with cheese, mushrooms and spinach. I have another meal planned and have the groceries for after that. We usually have enough leftovers for lunches and another dinner. So I don't plan for every meal especially with other cooks.

    Today I have lost my walking partner which is good. They were a computer software engineer who had less than 2 years experience when all the lay offs happened in that field and they don't have enough experience to compete in this bad job market for this field now. They decided desk jobs aren't that healthy for them anyway so got themselves into a pre-apprentice ship program for the construction trades. They did some practice interviews and one interviewer was impressed enough with them and said to call when they graduated from the program. They did and was offered a job but had to successfully get into the union. They took the training for that and past the tests to get into the union. They are at the orientation today for their new job. Yay. It took a while but they seem to have landed on their feet. For awhile they got excellent unemployment benefits and while they were working as a software engineer they saved a lot since they live with us.

    So I plan to take another long walk today and keep it up until I can build up my stamina for even longer walks. After that I will add other exercise in. I may go to the Y tomorrow and get in some aquafit. Too late today. Stayed up last night. @lisakatz2 I have this old swim suit I am using. I have a size down from I had lost 20 pounds. I can't wait till I can switch to it. I hope it is before this one falls apart. Congrats to getting to a size down. I think that is a better determiner than weight.

    @nebslp we use that brand too but since we eat them with a lot of protein we use another version which we can't get in the stores anymore. My husband orders it straight from Kodiak. However I am working on upping my protein intake now that I am older. Need to build more muscle mass. When we are visiting my son we get the one you are referring to. I walk slow too and I have short legs too as an excuse. I have a long torso. I noticed I was walking faster than the last time we did this walk but still slow.

    I'm beat! After a short night I met my sister for lunch today and had things to do so when I got home so no outside walk or creating done today. Monday I met a former colleague for lunch and tomorrow I'm taking my friend to an appointment, and she wants to eat lunch afterwards. Sheesh!!! 3 times in one week is more than I usually do in 3 months! But we went to a place where you can have 2-3 hour lunches and they're fine with it so it's really fun to catch up with people there!! The time just flies. My food choices were fine, but today was free pie day so that was a bit of a calorie disaster. I left part of it though:)

    There's a baby owl (hatched last spring) that screeches for it's mama to feed it outside my window at night. It always makes me smile. Yesterday it was about 30 feet from my blind and it blended in so well I didn't even see it until it flew out of the grass. They don't hoot at that age. Just screechy noises so it's kinda cute.
    Hope you're all doing well.

    Good morning everyone!

    It's been a rough couple days over here! Not weight loss wise, though, that's been going great: weigh in 175.6 this morning, pulling my average down to 179.0!

    yesterday:
    ❌2nd / 4 workouts per week (I had a long walk, but I'm not counting walks)
    ✅> 8k steps
    ✅<= 1600 cal
    ✅32 minute self care
    ✅> 64oz water
    ✅>= 128g protein

    Tonight is a 2 hour splits class, dinner tonight is leftover date me chicken pasta, the kids didn't like it, but I did:
    xyujfenjpd12.png

    Let's get right to the tags!
    @mmatcha_latte you've done so well! And lasik would be so exciting!

    @KeriA I'm so glad to hear you're using every tool available to you to help you stay active. Will you trick out your walking sticks, give them streamers or anything? Maybe a little bike horn? :lol: I'm glad to hear about the reason you lost your walking partner! Good for them!

    @nebslp very exciting to be on ESPN! And softball is so fun to watch, I used to play myself. The individual bag idea is really a great one, I do the same with protein chips, because once I hit the bottom of the bag, it's an extra barrier to get more, like am I really going to open this next bag and have another serving? FREE PIE DAY WHERE LOL

    @kristinwoods919 welcome back!

    @lisakatz2 you're making amazing progress! I love size NSVs maybe the most!

    Have a great day, everyone!

    So since its been dark when I get home from work. I havent really wanted to walk much. So I started doing my weighed hoop again. I did it last night for 30 mins. I figure if i can do it every night i cant get out and walk, this weight should start falling off.

    Kudos to you for the weighted hoop sub, sounds like fun. 30 minutes of that is a great amount of time!

    I have a Reebok step I need to pull out of the closet on bad weather days. I used to do steps during rainy weather. To music, it's a lot of fun too.

    do check-ins when I lose:
    A little check-in since I lost a bit:
    8/1: 254.8
    10/1: 249.2 I lost .4 lbs since yesterday.
    10/29: 248
    11/4/2024 252 Halloween weight gain
    11/5 249.8 Halloween weight lost :)
    11/7 249.2

    I did get my long walk yesterday and my husband took a break from work and walked with me. He needs the exercise too. Afterwards I could tell that my body needed a break from the long walks so I did go to the Y this morning and did Aquafit for 80 minutes. There are nice people there so if I get to talking I just finish my routine later since the pool is open all morning. I stretch better in the pool too. I hope to walk for a longer time than any of my walks this week tomorrow. I want to work up to 2 miles and then to be able to walk around Greenlake again which is just under 5k. I used to do interval walk/runs around it. I am fine with having a break in the middle for now.

    So the plan is to 1st focus on stamina by taking longer and longer walks and add another day of aquafit so I have some breaks from the longer walks. When I get my stamina back to the Greenlake level I will start adding in some weight training. Aquafit is a combo of cardio and resistance not to mention the stretching but I need some land based exercise too.

    1. posture exercises :)
    2. sweep the deck :)
    3. 5 hours 16 min. of sleep :(
    4. Photo organization :(
    5. Create :(
    6. French :)

    I'm struggling to stay awake here so this will be short and sweet! I took my friend to her appointment today, then she wanted to eat lunch (at 2 in the afternoon) and then to Walmart. When I was in the garage my long distance daughter (1000+ miles) called and we chatted for an hour. By the time I got in the house it was dark. So no walk today. Morning sleep has evaded me the past 2 days. I usually wake up around 6 and then go back to sleep for a bit but not the past few days and I can feel it. It's really messing with my sleep average :( I have been tracking my food even though some of the choices are sketchy.
    I'm excited to be able to stay home tomorrow and get some things done around here. Tonight there will be an early bedtime (before midnight)!

    Good morning everyone!

    Weighed in at 175.4 today, just flying downward right now, this whoosh is nice. Average 178.6.

    yesterday:
    ✅2nd / 4 workouts per week (I had a long walk, but I'm not counting walks)
    ✅> 8k steps
    ✅<= 1600 cal
    ✅32 minute self care
    ✅> 64oz water
    ✅>= 128g protein

    Yesterday's advanced splits class was nice! I am not flat in my split, unlike most girls there, but I can definitely see it helping with that.

    Today! Busy, busy! I've got to drop the kids off at the youth center, drop my car off at the shop to get an oil change, drop whatsisface off at work, go to a doctor's appointment, come home because hopefully my wine advent calendar is coming today, and I need to sign for it, hopefully the dealership is calling about the car I want to buy, I need to go to walgreens and get a passport picture taken so I can update mine, go to costco (pick up a pizza while there), pick up whatsisface, pick up the girls, go home, put things away, make myself a kirkland brand cauliflower pizza to see how it is, and THEN I get to relax. Oh, and do a workout. I'm thinking another zumba video.

    So! Lol. Keeping this busy is helping with my hard time, it really is. So I'm not really complaining, because I'm choosing to do most of this.

    Also, finally and for once, my stress is manifesting as not having the urge to eat rather than as eating everything in sight, lol. Don't worry, I'm having no problem hitting my calories and protein still :wink:

    Tag party!
    @kristinwoods919 weighted hoop sounds so fun!

    @lisakatz2 oooh, I haven't thought of step based workouts in a while, I bet there are some really good ones out there.

    @KeriA I love how you call it "land based exercise" like a mermaid would :smiley:

    @nebslp yay for early bedtime! It's always so nice to go to sleep earlier than usual and get a full night's sleep, even though it never feels like that when you're going to bed (at least for me).

    Have a great FRIDAY everyone!

    Christina, there are many great step videos on YouTube! Very inspiring. I lost quite a few inches last year doing step, it's great exercise.

    And congratulations on your progress! I hope to be in the 170's by the end of the year. Consistency! Consistency!

    Kristen, 3 pounds in one week, that's awesome!

    Lol, did not work out yesterday, whomst among us is surprised. Today starts the new week, so last week I only worked out twice, both times at the gym, but I've got no complaints about my progress, so that's good.

    Today! Gym in the morning, deciding on the car I'm going to buy, and tonight we're making chicken sausage and tortellini for dinner, which will be amazing. I'm going to have to put all that laundry I did yesterday away, lol. And getting ready for J's birthday party tomorrow!

    I guess that's all I have to say today, lol, just me doing things. Keeping busy to beat the devil or whatever it is they say.

    Tag party time!
    @kristinwoods919 CONGRATULATIONS, that's a huge success!

    @lisakatz2 I'll be looking for them, haha 👀

    Have a great day, everyone!

    ETA I'm bringing this back: the ticker for this year, where I started on Oct 12 and my goal for the year

    1. posture exercises :? :)
    2. sweep the deck :):)
    3 8 hrs of sleep and 8 hr. 16 min :)
    4. Photo organization :( Maybe later if I have/make time ?
    5. Create :( ?
    6. French :):)

    I got my walk in yesterday and have been tracking my food. My scale was doing loops between 170-180 so I figured it was time for a new battery. It registered up a pound which doesn't surprise me since I had gone out to lunch 3 times this week. Definitely not in the 170's!!!

    Yesterday I got to stay home and had time to think I realized that I was very saddened by the events around the world. What usually brings me great joy (sweeping the deck) left me in tears. It was a rough day. I also finished a great book but the last chapter was a major tearjerker so that fit right into the day. I reached out to one of my sisters and chatted for an hour and then went for my walk. There were 2 deer that ran out of our grove and I was sad that I had scared them out because I know hunting season is coming and I want them to be safe. It was just a really sad day. That mood is very unusual for me, and today is a new day and I get to go see my granddaughter perform in her school's one act play. I'm so excited for her! It means a total of 4 hours on the road, so I will get some reading time in since I'll be in the passenger seat.

    @kristinwoods919 Woohoo to 3 pounds down!! Using a weighted hoop sounds like play (I do know how hard it is though) and a good workout at the same time.

    @KeriA I love that you have such a cool goal to look forward to. A walk around a lake sounds amazing!

    @CupcakeCrusoe What a WHOOSH!!! Awesome! Your days sound just like my daughter's. I'm always impressed at how many kid/husband/work/household/and community activities she can pack in a day. And still keep smiling:)

    Thank you all for sharing your ups and downs. I am so inspired by your determination to be the best you can be and seeing you do the work that I'm finding more resolve inside myself every time I read about your successes. So bring it! and thanks! Wishing you a peaceful weekend:)

    Good morning everyone!

    My weight is almost exactly my average today, blah, lol. But my calorie intake has been a little higher for the last week (I forgot to update my checks and x's, but here's a screenshot), so I need to get it back together, haha.
    7zc8q9kbwr7b.png

    yesterday
    ✅1st / 4 workouts per week
    ✅> 8k steps
    ❌<= 1600 cal
    ✅32 minute self care
    ✅> 64oz water
    ✅>= 128g protein

    I did something to my right adductor muscle yesterday at the gym, so I'm going to be treating it very gently this week to recover. Car dealerships are a scam, haha. I want a very specific car, and no dealership wants to get it for me, which is maddening. There are still a couple of them left that might do it.

    Today! J's birthday party at a trampoline park, where I will keep myself so busy that I can't eat much of anything, and I have logged a piece of cake (1/16 of the cake, lol) and fit it in my plan for the day. If I follow the plan, I will get all the protein I need AND stay under my calories. No problem. And I've got a couple hundred calories to throw at unexpected things.
    My protein coffee, with an extra lil chocolate I picked up, oops
    lngoeci5uhcv.png
    My daily omlette with some hot ginger citron tea
    kqvy27offrtw.png
    My SECRET WEAPON: Harris Teeter shrimp for huge protein for small calories (unfortunately high $$), plus the birthday cake
    tf7zwcn0nlkn.png
    My usual lunch, except this time for dinner. I spice the turkey with some hamburger seasoning, and usually cover the whole thing in hot sauce.
    onlf6j45n61n.png

    So I have a plan! And a couple extra calories to go ham with. Like this, except with only 200 cal:

    @nebslp you're going to make me cry, this is such a wonderfully vulnerable and grateful update. Wishing you the same peace this weekend.

    It was a good day... feeling more like myself again. That dark place is awful!!!
    I got a walk in but it was on level ground this time, I didn't go through the pasture to the bottom of the hill because I hadn't taken my walking sticks. And I still got to see a bunny, squirrel, and the resident owl. He's outside my window squawking right now. I didn't want to go outside but I talked myself into taking some donation items to the garage. Once I got outside, I didn't want to go back in so I walked around the place and trimmed up some geraniums to take inside to overwinter them. This amazing weather can't stick around forever so I better enjoy it while it's here.

    I have been writing down my food all week and today I entered it into MFP to get the real scoop on how I'm doing. Well, if it weren't for the 4 ( :o ) times I ate out (we ate out after my granddaughter's play last night) and a couple of other really bad choices I made I would have been fine. 3/6 days were in the OK range. I try to stay below 2000 calories - my goal is more like 1800 or less - but that didn't happen very often last week. My macros are way out of whack so getting those back in line will be my focus this coming week. Fat is going down! Protein is on it's way back up!!

    Everything else is coming along. Finished a quilt block I started 5 years ago (eye roll) and will quilt and bind it someday (LOL)

    @CupcakeCrusoe Ugh! Ouch! I hope your muscle heals quickly!! Your food choices sound yummy. The fat content in that imaginary snack reminds me of my week :#

    Staying positive and being grateful for what's in front of us can cure the blues. All we can do is try and be awesome every day and some days it's works! Have a good night.

    Happy Monday everyone! I was relieved to see a loss on the scale this morning with two full days on the road and since I was not home my eating was off. I did indulge in some of my favorite WDW treats especially the Mickey ice cream. I did not log all of my meals, but we walked A LOT.

    Today Riley is at the vet to have her cardiologist tests, so we should have some answers soon on why she had to make that trip to the ER and they will determine the appropriate medications for her. I pray they can reduce her fluid pills soon. I am up with her a couple of times a night and she has had a few accidents in the house - I know this causes her some stress.

    While on vacation last week I received a call that my yearly mammogram showed changes and that I need further testing. Some of it is due to my weight loss, they mentioned calcification and duct ectasia. They want to perform some spot checking and ultrasound. Possibly an MRI. They wanted me to go last week, but that was not possible. The next available appointment is on 11/25, and I am on a waitlist if anything sooner comes up. I am doing my best to manage my stress around this. I know it will be okay, but in the back of my mind there are concerns.

    I am off of work until Wednesday, and I am determined to make the best of my time. Yesterday I walked over 10K steps in my house, unpacking and then putting up one of my two Christmas trees - the Disney themed one of course lol. I am about to go to the gym and work with my trainer. Then back home to meal prep and start on the second tree which is a hodge podge tree that has a lot of firefighter ornaments and ornaments from different travels over the years. Decorating that one is a sentimental journey through time.

    I will catch up this evening reading all of the November thread. I hope you are all doing great! Have an amazing week everyone!
