    🎷 66 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 278 (my 208th). So grateful as always @Quiltingjaine for another round.

This round want to stay strong & make the round a successful one.
    Goals for this round carried over from last;
β€’ First and foremost, no feeding frenzies
β€’ to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
β€’ be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available.
This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 66 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

    60+ Female using trend weight

I lost an average of 2.2 lbs last round. So one thing I will keep this round is keep my new calorie goal from last round. It seemed to work.

🐸I will keep the analogy of boiling frog in my head🐸

Fell off the challenge bandwagon in round 256, managed to keep losing weight until June 12th when I hit 155.9 (70.7 kg). I fell off the weight loss wagon shortly after. Decided yesterday to start back up and it was perfect timing with a new round starting today.

11/12- 166 (75.3 kg) Stayed within my goals today. Off to a good start.
11/13- 163.8 (74.3 kg) Water weight whoosh. If I end the round at this weight or close to it, I will be quite pleased.
11/14-162.8 (73.8 kg) Okay, we'll see how turkey tacos I had for dinner tonight affect this tomorrow. And debating BLTs for dinner tomorrow.
11/15- 163.2 (74 kg) I typically don't feel bloated in my day to day, but today I do. My pants feel tight, my bra is bothering me. And I did make BLTs tonight. Curious to see if I'll see more of a jump up on the scale in the next couple days or what. But so far 5 days of staying on track with my goals. I do think I need to drink more water, so I'm going to be mindful of that.
11/16- 162.4 (73.7 kg) I woke up feeling rested this morning for the first time in a while, so instead of sleeping in, I joined my husband and the dog on their morning walk. Then we had a relaxing day at home and went on a second walk this afternoon. It was a good Saturday.

Me - Meg, 5'5", 65, desk job, moderate daily exerciser
Daily Calories @ 1630 for one pound per round!
    GOAL #2 135 LBS

Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm. - Winston Churchill

    ROUND 278
11/12 – 136.9 Morning swim, dinner: healthy marinara and ww pasta
11/13 – 136.0 Noon Body Pump, dinner: Salmon and veggies
11/14 – 135.8 Morning swim, dinner: fajitas at Mexican restaurant
11/15 – 136.6 Noon trainer session, dinner: leftover healthy marinara & ww pasta
11/16 – 136.4 Morning swim, dinner: Ham and white bean soup.
11/17 – 136.2 Yoga before church, dinner plan: Baja grilled fish tacos.

Saturday morning - DD and family came over and stayed for dinner last night. Luckily, I had enough salad, bread, and frozen marinara at the ready for all. Finally, a safe social event!

Sunday morning – I’m behind in my postings. Yesterday was busy with life chores. So much so, I failed to plan my food day. I only logged it last night, after the fact. I find logging what I ate less useful than using MFP to plan my entire eating day before my first bite, even though that plan is subject to change. ---- How about you, dear JGMTD readers? Do you typically pre-plan or post-log or maybe don’t log your food at all? What do you find most useful?

Had lots of Ultras yesterday and like clockwork I’m up at 3am this morning. Not sure why I always wake up so early after I drink. I don’t want to skip the drinking because we like to let loose on date night. Anyway, I weighed in right when I woke up 2lbs heavier but then waited and weighed in again at my regular time and this is where I landed(Noβœ–οΈ)

I enjoy reading everyone’s posts with my morning coffee.

    Highest weight 242 lbs
    Lowest weight 142 lbs (2019)
    Re-start JGMTD Feb 2024 @ 204 lbs

    Round 277 End Weight 170.6

    11/12- 170.0
    11/13- 169.8
    11/14- 171.0
    11/15- 171.2
    11/16- 171.0
11/17- 171.6 This is a normal bounce pattern when I’m losing, especially with TOM. We’re meeting friends for breakfast this morning.
It’s the best meal for me to socialize with. I’m a little bummed because I’ll miss my Sunday funday workout but I think my body could use a rest day.
I am going to end this weekend strong! I was feeling a blah about how much effort I wanted to put in today but β€œ5am Carolyn” snapped me out of it!!!! @Chapter_3 your post resonated this morning.
I’m not going to get to my next level if I don’t get out of my comfort zone.

@Chapter_3 - You go, girl! You've got a BHAG! I watch your progress with interest because I have similar goals, height, and age, but lack your grit. If I could sign a deal to stay easily at 132 for life, forsaking any lower number, I'd think I'd do it. But, that's not the way it works, is it? We do have to fight for it, and you are the champ at giving it all you got!

    @blueberries59 and @Skyleen75
I’m glad my declared BHAG/motivation resonated. Both of your daily reflections (and others) inspire me to move forward. Thank u!

To log or not to log / & when?
I’d say I’ve logged 95% of the time since starting this challenge 15+ mos ago. I pre-plan my day while enjoying coffee in the morning. I find that when I have strayed, it’s not snacking, it’s portion control. I have to be VERY careful of portions. I don’t weigh my food as much anymore because I’ve been able to eyeball it. If I’m trying a new food, I definitely weigh it. I track/log my food 2-3x per day.

I find that staying β€œclean” is the strongest offense and defense! Whole foods are so easy to track/log. I try to stay away from anything that has more than 3 ingredients…. And no processed / packaged foods.
Pre-logging? Sometimes I do sometimes I don’t… I find that just β€œplanning my day” helps the most. When I pre-log my protein shake, I forget it later! Perhaps I think to myself, I’ve got the right amount of protein grams today, check, …. Then I forget it! Because mentally I’ve already checked it off…. We all have our own peculiar quirks, yes?

What clicked for me yesterday (to recommit) is that I’ve been logging here for so many months… Why be here (JGMTD) without measurable results? I mean, isn’t that the premise of this particular challenge? Being on a β€œrecomposition sojourn” is difficult to measure… It’s all NSVs…. and process. Then βš–οΈ drifting up…..? I must commit to 10 days of something!!! … (basically πŸ’© or get off the pot!). That’s what did it for me yesterday! Because…. I don’t want to get off /leave because this group is fantastic… I never would’ve re-committed without the insights and determination of so many individuals on this challenge!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Many say, I β€œoverthink”… But if I don’t overthink, I’m not living my true-self…. & thinking out loud works for me …. Sometimes! Now I have to stay true to what I put on the line -my declared BHAG!

This reminds me of a brain fart that I had about a year ago… I stopped at the park and pontificated to the group… I’m always so close, and then I take a few steps back… Why can’t it be ME that crosses the finish line and stays there? It’s a self-defeating pattern I’ve had since childhood. I really REALLY want to conquer this negative behavior pattern in Chapter 3! LETS DO IT!

    11/15 -191.2- (Trend weight -191.4-)

11/16 -190.4- (Trend weight-191.3-) I ate very light for lunch and dinner yesterday so I could have ice cream with DD, DS and DGS last night. I didn’t want or need to feel denied. I must admit that ice cream is a weak point for me. The only thing more tempting is probably donuts (which I haven’t had in quite some time). I took too much in a bowl out of β€œold me” habits and realized that β€œnew me” doesn’t really eat that much at one time anymore. But I didn’t realize it until I was finished and my belly felt over full and bloated. So I’m surprised to see a drop this morning, even with lighter meals. I weighed in about 2 hours later than normal this morning so I’m not sure if that is why I’m having a drop. I guess I’ll find out tomorrow. I just hope the ice cream doesn’t show up later, which sometimes happens. Lots of good sleep last night but not enough water yesterday which is probably why I wasn’t up & down all night like usual. Whoever said β€œyou can’t have it all” was absolutely right!

11/17 -191.2- (Trend weight-191.3-) And there is the effect of the trying and tempting weekend. Traveling today for some food supplies and birthday gifts for my DGS. Dinner will be out but I will avoid all desserts and treats! It will be nice to get some walking and steps in.

    πŸ‘πŸ‘This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE

Got permission to modify the challenge for fasting and physical activity. Thanks! @quiltingjaine

STARTING FAST TIME: 7:02PM EST (started at 5:50PM EST, but didn't start fasting timer until 7:02)
    FASTING GOAL: 72H, Then 20:3
ACTIVITY GOAL: 5-minute core workout, 1 hour workout for 8 days

CAUTION FOR FASTING: I live a zero to minuscule carb life that helps with fasting. Taking in healthy-high calorie-nutrient dense meals and being well hydrated before a fast is important⚠️
    RND 278 (1)
    11/12 COREβœ… WORKOUT 1/8βœ… Maintain 72 hour fast βœ…
11/13 COREβœ… WORKOUT 2/8βœ… Maintain 72 hour fast βœ… - Felt some hunger for a very short time while studying, then it went away. Was able to study efficiently and with mind clarity. Consumed nothing but water yesterday (forgot to make notes yesterday). Today I had some tea with lemon juice. There are studies showing that lemon juice doesn’t break a fast why I add it to tea. It's good for vitamin C and masks the flavor of some herbal teas. If anyone is wondering the hunger went away before I had tea :) I drink tea regularly for health benefits. I try to drink it daily and missed yesterday.
11/14 COREβœ… WORKOUT 3/8βœ… Completed 72 hour fast πŸ™Œ - AM, drank tea with no lemon. Broke fast after 550PM with high fat meal and protein. This fast went well going to do a 42H Fast instead of 20:3* (Typo in last post). Thanks @quiltingjaine, this challenge is really helping :)
11/15 COREβœ… WORKOUT 4/8*(Typo in last post)βœ… Maintain 42 hour fast βœ… - No hunger. Tea with no lemon.
11/16 Completed 42 hour fastπŸ™Œ - Today is rest day for working outπŸ‘Ÿ AM, drank tea with lemon🍡 Broke fast with fat🧈 and proteinπŸ₯© Next fasting goal is 46 hours⏳
11/17 COREβœ… WORKOUT 3/8❌ Maintain 46 hour fast βœ… - Completely forgot about workout, managed to get 15-20 minutes in this evening. Tea with lemon🍡 No hunger

    🎷 66 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 278 (my 208th). So grateful as always @Quiltingjaine for another round.

This round want to stay strong & make the round a successful one.
    Goals for this round carried over from last;
β€’ First and foremost, no feeding frenzies
β€’ to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
β€’ be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end

I enjoy reading everyone’s posts with my morning coffee.

    Re-start JGMTD Feb 2024 @ 204 lbs

    Round 277 End Weight 170.6

    11/12- 170.0
    11/13- 169.8
    11/14- 171.0
    11/15- 171.2
    11/16- 171.0
    11/17- 171.6
11/18- 171.6 Why do I feel like every day I do my best should have the reward of a lower number? I know it doesn’t work that way. It takes consistency over time to make progress.
Keeping my focus when the scale isn’t rewarding me is hard.
I’m also adjusting to my off season calories. I gotta say- it SUCKS!!!!! I think this was part of the October problem and I know it’s the root of my gain over the last few years.
I’m so grateful for JGMTD. My daily weigh in and reflection forced me to see the pivot point.

I joined this group in Rnd 245 on Dec 18 2023, when I realized I was eating my way through the holidays; I finally got on the scale and was hovering just under 150 lbs. It took about 4 months to reach my goal weight of 125. Sounds great, but I’ve done this before, which is why I’m still here.
It’s not just about losing, it’s about changing the habits of a lifetime that keep me stuck in self-defeating cycles with food.

@Chapter_3: Carolyn, I feel your foot and hope it's better quickly- it's impossible when your foundation's compromised!
And I'm with you on the 2-3 lb challenge- it's not noticeable, nor will the next 3 be and all of a sudden it's out of hand. I like 124-126 and that's where I want to live, so let's go get it!
