DDILsent me a link to professional swimming goggles for Edie for Christmas. Bought those. I will get her another tiny thing to open as Bea has two presents. The goggles were expensive! But very beautiful. :o

John has got Max a book on quantum physics and he wants money for the rest. Hooray! So they are all very nearly done.

Lisa - your bags are amazing and I hope they will do very well when your e commerce goes live.

Tracey - Is your fair this weekend? Good luck! 👍

Excellent day all round. Even good tv this evening. I found an old dessert left over from last Christmas in the garage freezer! We had half each and it was delicious. :p Iced chestnut chocolate cream.

Back to my book tomorrow morning.

Barbie - good idea to have a car that can be serviced locally. Enjoy your new ride - what color is it?

I bought my Subaru at a dealer about 30 miles away, and it was a hassle if I needed to leave it overnight. I was glad when I found a local mechanic shop that was able to work on it plus they had a free shuttle service to scoot me home and come pick me up when the car is ready. I found out the Toyota dealer's service department in town has the same service! :D

Carol - what a day for you. Don't blame you for being frustrated.

    Sewers/Quilters/Crafters-

This local gal makes a lot of popular fabric items. Dog crate covers, dog raincoats, baby bibs, dog beds,
etc. Here's a link to her FB page if anyone is interested:

And a photo of those cute bibs!

The wind is gradually subsiding here. :p The house feels warmer already.

    Good evening beautiful ladies!

Today is my birthday! Yay! My sister is here and made me a marvelous chicken dinner with stuffing and gravy and cranberry sauce, and chocolate cake!

My Dad had a sing along performance so we all went to hear them sing. And tomorrow we will go out with C.

Have a lovely day my friends! May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Heather: I so agree that we should make the most of every day. Your anniversary sounds delightful. Johnny and you were fortunate to meet. My anniversary wish for you both is that you have many more years of togetherness.

    Annie: 🎂Happy Birthday. 🎂

Yesterday morning it was below 0*C, and we had a dusting of white on our drive. It did rise a few degrees, but not many. Even the sun didn’t really help. We don’t usually get these temperatures until January, and at the coast, not even then.

I’m enjoying my few days of no scheduled activities. I’m working in my pieces for our November Monthly Meeting next week. I am showcasing my Creative Writing group. One of my members is also doing some readings.

🤗🤗🤗 and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

My friend Stephanie and I walked 3 miles on the trail with Rose. I told her to keep walking and we would catch up. Rose loved it, but I could tell at the end of the walk she was getting fatigued. They have a water fountain for dogs. She refused the first one but drank a lot at the 1.5-mile mark. Rose slept so well, and so did I. Now I am up early this morning. I am thinking about exercising and then going walking later today.
I will put Rose in Day Camp. My friend wants to walk with me again next week. I am so weird, but I must walk alone to listen to music or read a book. So, I will walk twice. I wonder if I should do step Aerobics now and walk. It might challenge me. I am torn, for I don't want to overdo it and get burnt out. Yet, Rita's class gave me food for thought about changing things up. What do you think?

    Pip, What is a Chispa?

Heather, those swim goggles are beautiful. Why are they so expensive? Eddie sounds like she is pretty athletic.

Machka, where you live,, is so beautiful. I love the shots of Canada,, too. Canada and Australia are definitely on my bucket list. It looks like you take any moment you can to get your steps in.

Ladies, I want you all to know that each and every one of you are an inspiration to me.

    Have a happy day everyone.

    XO,

Annie - Happy Birthday! <3 How nice that your sister is there to help you celebrate. How long will she be there? I love that she's visiting and helping with some of your dad's care, giving you a break for a while. Do you think you'll stay in Delaware when circumstances eventually change with your dad? Maybe move closer to sis? I'm just curious if you're mulling over future plans.

Heather - good job getting on top of the early Christmas shopping. Nice that you've been given suggestions on what to buy that the kids will definitely appreciate.

Mo - sorry to hear about the mold behind the cabinet. What a lot of work and disruption. Very proud of you as you continue on your weight loss journey - you are a great inspiration to us!

When the weather was nice, I loved my walks alone outdoors, especially very early morning. I'd say some prayers or just spend time counting my blessings and it made my day go smoother. Even though I'm walking in the house these days, I still try to remember to do that.

Which brings me to - with the windstorm/power outage preparation over the past couple days, I totally spaced getting in my morning stretches and since I was busy moving firewood, and other tasks, I didn't get many house walks in either. I wore my old New Balance shoes which don't fit well anymore. My lower back and feet are complaining. I just finished my stretches and have meals planned again, plus new shoes with new orthotics should help everything. Nice to be back to "normal", :p

Tracey - I hope Rodger rethinks his sanding in the house project. Amazing how our DH's can get so focused on a project without a clue as to what kind of work they are making for us. >:) With that and the old accounting system you have to use, no wonder you were frustrated by the end of the day.

Barbie - the new car sounds wonderful. Toyotas are at the top for reliability. Is it a hybrid? I'd probably go that route next time I get a vehicle.

Add me to the list of those having computer frustration. I told McAfee a while back I wasn't going to renew which comes up on January 5th. So I am getting banners and popups telling me my computer will be at risk, they removed many potential viruses yesterday and blah de blah. Just a few minutes ago I got disconnected from Wi-Fi. No idea why or how. It probably didn't have anything to do with McAfee but who knows. I'll do a major backup in a month then remove McAfee and let Microsoft Defender take over. If this old laptop takes a nosedive, I'll be ready. :p

I'm making some Indiana kidney bean salad this morning. 1 can drained kidney beans, 1 chopped hard boiled egg, 1/2 stalk chopped celery, a tsp of sweet pickle relish and 1 T mayo. Might slice up some grape tomatoes and stir them in. A big spoonful of that with cottage cheese and I'll have a high protein high fiber lunch.

    Make it a super day!

Happy birthday, Annie! Hope it was wonderful...

Tracey - Yeah, I would have a hard time with Corey sanding in the house, as well. They do seem to develop an occasional blind spot on how their actions affect us. I'm sorry about the mood, darlin'... do you think you are struggling with the loss of evening light after the time change? A lot of people have a hard time with it.

Mo - I'm so sorry, darlin', those scrunchies are somewhere over the Pacific, headed for my daughter in Hawaii. She and my granddaughter both have long, beautiful hair. Thanks for thinking about me, though! So glad you've become part of this group, you bring so much to us. And walking twice is always better as long as you're not over-doing.

Rosemarie - Yes, you got that right, I'm starting a website. I've just got to finish hooking up a payment processor to my new site and post some more photos and descriptions to get it live. I won't be doing anything like the scrunchies or the gift bags that is replicable though. At the moment, only the handbags that I've shown here in this group will be going up on it, and I'll be putting rather high prices on them. I'm not terribly interested in creating anything to order, if that makes sense, just truly unique, one-of-a-kind items. I will just take it one year at a time to decide whether to keep going. Proud of your commitment to the decluttering, I'm sure it isn't easy!

Lanette - Because of your comment, I went looking for Vera Bradford bags, just a quick glance at their website, and now their ads are all over my Facebook feeds! 😶👀🤑I agree, there's a similar sense of color and design. There are only so many ways you can make a bag, when it comes right down to it - after that, it comes down to materials, colors, and construction methods.

Barbie - I'm so sorry the Tesla was temporary, but so many good things are. All things are, in the end, I guess. You will always have the joy it brought you, though. The different stage of life I'm in is why I have the Kicks - the VW diesel was great when I was traveling long distances all over Arkansas for work, but didn't make sense for my retired life.

Evie - It's good to see you, glad you got through the power outages OK, along with the rest of our PNW folks.

More later. Hope it's a good day!

    Love y'all,

Debbie do you ever freeze your fudge?
Miichele love that Vince chooses kittens over Christmas trees. ;)
Tracey what a horror story. It’s probably a kindness that Rodger doesn’t remember, though very scary. SMH at Rodger’s sanding plan but very thankful your BFF can read your mood from a text “hi”.
Rori sorry you were miserable, ,but really happy that N rose to the challenge with grace and kindness.
Rosemarie, me too. Really enjoying the CDs I bought at the concert last week. Will give one to T for Christmas, but I might have to buy myself a copy. Funny how I really haven’t listened to music very often for such a long time, especially since it brings me so much joy. Can’t wait to see pics of your pup. (warm hugs) for your de-cluttering tears.
Whoops! There goes another power blip.
Heather, belated best anniversary wishes! 20 years! Before you met Johnny did you see a 20 yr romance in your future?
Ginny thankful for stable scans. Is this the last budget time you’ll do at work?
Lisa love your proof of concept bag, even better your idea of drawer risers. Could Corey build them for you?
Machka thanks for explaining about the required Excel templates. Double handling of data was one of my pet peeves back in the day.
Barbie ((hugs)) I’m sad with and for you. Felt the same way when I gave up my Land Rover Freelander for the Ford Escape, and now that we’ve moved here, the nearest Ford Dealer is 2 hrs north in Coos Bay. [sigh] My first heart car was a 1976 silver Toyota Corolla liftback SR5. Had it for 25 years, hated giving it up too, but my SIL needed a car with a back seat for schlepping around grandbabies.
Mo bittersweet that your peasant top is now too big, but con VERY gratulations. “Crazy?” Like the fox!
Rita when I saw “German liver day” I thought braunschweiger  Alas googling found the much less appealing MASLD/MASH information. Gesundheit.
Evelyn “it just gets easier and easier to skip if I go more than one day.” Amen, sister, AMEN! Due to poor traveling weather I skipped Line dancing Tuesday night, Wednesday skipped both BB&B and dancing. Made fruitcake instead. SMH.
Okie praying you get long term relief soon. PF since May. Ugh.
Carol and Machka ((hugs)) for your tech frustrations.
The very happiest of birthdays, to you dear, Annie!
Lanette  those dog raincoat fabrics in “Stella’s closet” and your Indiana kidney bean salad.
Allie that’s the best pic of Delia so far!!!
    Gratitudes:
Thursday: waking up in this place and time instead of this morning’s nightmare on the way to strong hydrotherapy.
Wednesday: last night’s power outage lasted less than five hours. Freezer, fridge, all ok.
De-cluttering challenge plan: Make myself put at least two baking pans, maybe three, in the donation box. Finally pack up summer clothes and put up. Really do something productive this morning. Wish me luck!
    Later, lighter, lovelies!

    Annie Happy Birthday :flowerforyou:

Tried to go to choir last night. We had just enough snow to make it slippery. The choir director wanted us to come 15 minutes early plus pick up music in our boxes which adds another 5-10 minutes to retrieve. Our boxes are a hike from where we practice.

Because of traffic, snow, and darkness did not arrive 15 minutes early...After getting my music I noticed half my water bottle spilled in and on my bag. Water bottle is on the outside. When I went to clean out my bag ...the fire alarm went off. The choir just kept on singing. Our church had a fire about two years ago...That was the third thing off last night so I made the decision to go home...I knew the roads would only get worse not better. I arrived home safe and watched a comedy and sat and petted my dog.

Today sometime I will sing though the music with the recordings she supplied. Because we will not meet next Wednesday she wants us to stay after church for an hour and a half. Again I cannot make it, so I will again take another time to sing with recordings.

BarbieI am sorry you have to give up the Telsa...You made a well thought out decision.

Lanette - Bea writes a long list. DDIL takes a couple of things off the list and sends me the links! Edie loves her sports equipment. She is a serious triathlete. I think wearing the best stuff gives her confidence. When you have to get up at 5.30 on a winter's morning to go swimming, you need all the help you can get! :o:# DDIL sent me the link. :p I have found a little extra for her just now - a fidget pen. :D
So glad Max is happy to have money to add to his book from John.
I was very much looking for a long-term relationship when I met John. I ditched my occasional partners imediately when I met him, much to their disgruntlement, and decided to give it a 'proper go'. He wasn't necessarily looking for marriage, (he didn't marry his previous long-term partner), but he knew that was what I wanted. ;) I wasn't sure for some time, but we grew together, and when I knew, I knew. We make a good team and work at it every day. It definitely takes two though, equally committed to the project.
We are old now. I do think about making it to our silver wedding anniversary, but who knows?! We have been blessed so far, but every day is precious now.

Barbara AHMOD - I had to smile at the "could Corey build risers for you?" question... I'm literally in the middle of building extra shelving into my craft room. 😹👀😍 I'm also capable of building risers with drawers for my machines... They're just boxes, in the end. While Corey is a great rough carpenter, he doesn't like to build the picky stuff, such as things like drawers. So the answer is no, but I can either make them myself or buy them. That's where I have to decide how much my own time is worth. I also have to decide if I'm willing to compromise... because nothing available for purchase is ever exactly the size I want!

Speaking of Corey, just got my lunchtime call from him... we've pretty well settled on hamburgers for dinner, but I still haven't brought myself to eat anything yet this morning. I need to either throw something in the oven or break out the crackers and cheese again. Oh, I know - I actually have some good wheat bread in the fridge - grilled cheese it is. I use light mayo instead of butter... pretty darn yummy and reasonably good nutrition.

Off to get some warm food in me. Chilly and windy today, but still have one line of shelf supports to place and then I'll be outside in the highest temps of the day to make my cuts.

    Later, my dearlings,
    Love,
    Lisa in AR
