Did a spinning workout and then went in the pool for an hour. It’s so good to be back at exercise at the Y. I just realized that BK is closed Thanksgiving so I can exercise that day! Yea! I’ll go to the Y the day before and do some HIIT and then on Thurs I’m thinking that I’ll do pilates

Rori – telling us about your time with N puts a real smile on my face. I’m so happy for you. N sounds like a real keeper I agree with Lisa – it says a lot about him being there for you even tho you didn’t feel well.

I saw a catepillar the other day and he had such a wooly coat! Made me so sad. I don’t mind, tho, if it’s cold while I’m in FL…:)

Tracey – wonder why you shouldn’t wear the splint at night? If you wear it during the day, that might be too much. That I can understand. But if you don’t wear it during the day….. How scary for you and Rodger!

It’s spritzing outside right now so I think what we’re going to do is bring the ornament boxes (where we store them) back upstairs and put them away in the garage. It’s sad...but hopefully next year things will be back to normal. At least I won’t have to string popcorn….lol Update: he doesn’t want to put the ornaments away, probably since he wants to eat early so we can go to bowling. Think I’ll go to Food Lion to get the things on sale there that we need for T day

barbie – sounds like you made the right decision

Mo – I usually don’t get my workouts from uTube mainly because I have A LOT of exercise DVD’s (probably around 400) Congrats on the weight loss. You impress me so much taking care of those babies

Heather – happy anniversary and congrats on your good luck

Rita – rest up and feel better fast

Okie – how have you been treating your foot pain?

After work today (Thurs) stopped at Food Lion to get more sweet potatoes. Roasted them and now have them in the freezer. Vince and I put most of the holiday totes back in the garage.

Carol – our internet was out yesterday, too! Not sure for how long. It came back on sometimes during the night

M – so sorry about the impending dental work. I’m jealous that you’re having such warm weather when today I had to wear a a coat to work (boo)

Allie – yes, it is SO HARD not to be on my feet. I’ve pretty muchly given up walks. Killing me, but it needs to be done. I’m trying to do only what’s absolutely necessary. Plus, my exercise has been spinning, using the bike downstairs (sometimes I’ll do that in place of walking around the neighborhood), next week I’ll do some HIIT on the elliptical. Avoiding the treadmill. This s****. But then again, “this too shall pass”. My splint came today, at least that’s what the email from Amazon says. Thanks so much for those day brightener pics. As Evelyn said “it gets easier and easier to skip (exercise)”. I hope this doesn’t happen to me, but I fear that it will.

I need to make a list and go over it with Vince what we’re going to get people for christmas. I’d like to use coupons if I can

    Annie – happy happy birthday!

Mo – I bought an orthotic for the PF at WalMart. It does make it feel better

barbie – big congrats on the Toyota.

Tracey – I know what you mean about men sanding! Vince decided to sand the door in the house. Then he’d have to take it to the garage to paint it. Why he couldn’t have sanded it in there is beyond me. After he was done, I had to wash all the sheets (he did it in the bedroom so he could close the door and the cats wouldn’t “help”. Why he couldn’t go outside and close the door to the house, I have no idea.) vacuum the floor, etc.

Vince just cut a piece of wood to go in front of the screen to the fireplace so that unmentionables won’t open the screen and go in the fireplace

Well, Lynette called to say that they'd be coming. I suspect she was thinking it was T day and not the day after.

Wasn't at the soup kitchen last week because they had a large group serving so they told the regular volunteers they didn't need to come in. Will go in tomorrow but they're closed next week.

:)Michele I wore those splints in 2016 as part of my doctor trying to figure out what caused my leg pain. Medicare paid for them. They were not the solution and I eventually had an MRI that diagnosed the real problem and reqired spine surgery. Another of my doctor's diagnostic tools was two weeks of no exercise. That was really hard for me. You and I both are energized by exercise

:) Annie and I are in the parking lot at the doctor's office. Jake has his follow up appointment with his primary doctor after his hospitalization at the beginning of the month. When he's done, I'll take him home along with Annie so I can pick up my friend to take her for her macular degeneration appointment. We'll stop to pick up her Wal Mart order. She got home late last night from six weeks in Texas where she had knee replacement surgery and this will allow her to replenish supplies. It's not raining so I can walk while she's at her appointment

🌻Lisa your craft room is what we all dream about. Your creativity is inspiring

🌻Lanette the new car is not a hybrid. We were limited by our budget. But it gets good mileage and we don't drive much.

🤩Take life one day at a time. Stay in the moment

Michelle - I am doing PT for the PF as well as my knees. My knees are in good shape, but I'll do PT as long as they'll let me to work on strength and balance. The surgeon told me for every month I was down, it takes 3 months to recover. I was down for 2 1/2 years....you do the math  . The PF is mostly stretching and strengthening the feet. I wear my night splint every night on one foot. It has helped the most with the sharp pain when I get up in the morning and after sitting. I find it interesting how many of you are told to rest it to recover. Mine is to walk and do as much as I can. After 2-3 minutes, my pain is much reduced. It is greatly improved. I could stop PT, but I am still making progress so I'll keep going.

Well we got slammed by the storm although not a whole lot of property damage. Power went out Tuesday evening about 8:30 and has still not been restored. It is now 54* in the house. Freezer items are still frozen but fridge items are not as cold as they should be. We had two big trees go down, one at each end of our road. One has been cleaned up and the wires back up and we can drive out that way but the other one is huge, completely blocking the road and there are wires on the ground. The wind took down one panel of fencing for our goats and they went walkabout on the neighbors property Wednesday morning. The neighbors were able to herd them back through the break and propped a piece of plywood in the hole. Their blue heeler pup thought our goats were good fun. DD and I later put up a more secure temporary fence. DD was off work yesterday as they had no power where she works. Hopefully the storm we are supposed to have tomorrow won't add to the existing damage.

    Heather - Happy anniversary!

    Annie - Happy birthday!

Glad the rest of you in the PNW came through safe and sound. Anxious to get our power back but glad we are OK.

Everyone take care, Sue in WA

Barbara AHMOD-my current plan is this will be last budget. I turned 70 a couple of weeks ago and think I am close to wanting to relax. I am checking out areas close to where I think I will be moving for volunteer activities, etc.

Got our first snow today. We had food pantry and the snow never stopped. Was so cold and wet after nearly two hours. Very busy-not certain of the final number yet. People were very grateful. While trying to keep my spirits up and forget my numb hand, I kept reminding myself how grateful I am to be providing the help and not needing it at this point.

Get to work from home tomorrow. Should make some good progress on budget. Need to put through some pay raise requests for a few people (updating some pay grades) so that will be nice (they aren't expecting it). Want new rates in effect before the pay adjustment for next year kicks in.

Well, I think I am going to go get under the blankets. The cold tired me out!

    Take care all,

Got the splint today and put it on for a little, just to get adjusted, etc. It seems that my heel pain is reduced. Now was it the splint? I don't know. But I'll wear it tonight.
