Where Has the Notes Tab Gone?

Hi There! Does anyone know if MFP got rid of the Notes feature? There used to be a Notes tab at the bottom of the daily diary that allowed you to create “Exercise” or “Nutrition” specific notes. I found this feature incredibly useful and used it regularly. It helped me stay accountable to myself and write out certain goals I had for that week. Suddenly, it seems like it’s disappeared into thin air. Does anyone have any info about this? If the My Fitness App folks are reading - I beg you…Please bring back the notes feature! It was a wonderful tool for motivation and personal growth. Especially on those tough days when an extra boost of positive self-talk is needed.

Mine is still there. I use the iOS app. At the bottom of the days diary. Notes. Next to Nutrition and under Complete Diary.
    Where did yours go? 🤔

In the Android app, I still have a "Notes" button at the bottom of my diary, also. That makes it sound like it's not universally gone from Apple iOS app, Android app, or web MFP, based on comments above.

You may be experiencing some kind of software bug? If so, contacting support through the Help function (or email) might be the best route. That can be frustrating sometimes, as we have to answer each email or they'll assume the problem has gone and we've lost interest.

The MFP staff don't read every post in all parts of the Community every day. There are just too many, and most are about kinds of questions/support that regular experienced MFP users can provide better than staff can. But we regular folks can't help with bugs, unfortunately.

Best wishes, hope you find an answer!

ETA screen grab showing it still present in Android app.

Wow you guys, thank you SO Much for getting back to me! I have an iPhone - still no notes for me. (Maybe my phone is the problem?) But great idea to contact tech support via email. I reached out via “Help” and got the same auto generated answers…along with a similar screenshot showing where my notes used to be. Thanks AnnPT77! Xo Kyle
FYI - here’s what the bottom of my diary currently looks like:

I'm also using android but I'm wondering if the second option we have for notes might exist for iOS. Do you have three dots at the top of the diary, or something similar?

I have the same issue of missing the “notes” on mfp (iPhone). When I swipe to see yesterday’s diary, it has my notes from yesterday. It just disappeared today! Does anyone know if they got rid of notes?

Mine have gone too. Rubbish app nowadays anyway, been plodding on with it but it’s so slow to refresh, it used to be good a long time ago, maybe this is the final push I needed to dump it !

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We are in the process of testing a new feature for the Food Diary which allows you to check your daily macro totals and swap in an item to meet your goals. During this test, this feature will take the place of the Notes Button.

For now, your notes can still be accessed via MyFitnessPal.com. Since you're seeing the test feature, we'd love to hear your feedback if you have an opportunity to give it a try. We're hoping it can help users find new and different food options to help reach their macronutrient goals.

Agreed! Please bring back “notes” in the iOS app! I used it to keep track of at a glance intermittent fasting hours and steps taken since I don’t carry my iPhone with me every step that I take. It was so useful and convenient! All I see as of this morning is

Please bring back the notes! I’ve used this section heavily for years! I put motivational messages of my own there & often keep track of blood pressure, medications, etc. Please keep this section! Thank you!

PLEASE bring notes back! I put my end of day calories at the bottom so I can make sure I stay on track as your damn app doesn’t accurately account my stepdad and exercise like it should! So I do the math myself everyday but I use the notes app DAILY

Here’s a workaround (that I’m really annoyed I have to do!). Once a note is in your diary, you can edit it.

Take your notes from yesterday (or the last time you have them) - copy to today, then go to today and edit..

    OR

Go into your notes on the website and write one word in the notes section each day for a week or so. Once synced to your device, the notes section well show up at the bottom and you can edit it. Rinse. Repeat.
