I ended up running by myself this morning so I stretched the normal run into 7 miles. Temp was 34F – not bad at all. Weather is supposed to be cold and wet in the morning. My other friends are doing a local Turkey Trot race but not me. @quilteryoyo – Are you doing the turkey run in Greeneville?
@Laurz9191 – Glad your calf has recovered and it looks like you are enjoying your trip! Going to the Christmas markets in Europe is on my bucket list!
Happy Birthday @Avidkeo! Hope you can find some time to celebrate in between work and student testing.
My mouth is watering at all the food pictures!!
Safe driving today @tarun_yadavA – I’m sure there will be a lot of holiday traffic. (P.S. - one can never go wrong with any cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.)

Thank you @Teresa502 😊1

Hi everyone!
Thanks for the support @kgirlhart , @SummerSkier @scott6255, @quilteryoyo ! I am super happy to be back at it pain free! I couldn’t even run 100meters last week, so I’m just feeling really lucky.
@tarun_yadavA Kofola is more a communism thing , developed as a coke alternative when coke wasn’t allowed and when Slovakia was part of Czechoslovakia. It’s worth trying if you make it over here!
Today was our “fun” day so lots of sightseeing and I had time for 2 treadmill runs. Tomorrow, it’s back to work .
Pictures in the spoiler.Devin castle near Bratislava. The river is the Danube and on the other side is Austria.
The most famous church in Bratislava which is also really blue.
Devin castle
I ran a total of 11.5km today.
126.8/200km for November

dang we have some amazing scenic views posted here!! 😍😍 and on strava also. @Laurz9191 it would be interesting to figure out what caused you calf to seize up? Possiby like a cramp but stuck? ANyway, glad it was ok quickly. @tarun_yadavA you DID get to do a scenic run in US. Safe drive down the east coast today. Not the best day to be driving distance.
Got a 10 miler in this morning.I have not done that in months like maybe last Feb? 🧐😳😳... I went out pretty strong and fast but managed to keep it steady toward the end altho I was getting tired and only had 1 saltlicktab with me. pretty warm today. cold tomorrow again. Like a roller coaster. Have not yet turned my heat on as it is over 80 today and AC might kick in this afternoon. LOL.
And of course Happy Birthday @Avidkeo!
@AlphaHowls hope those toes are easing up a little finally.. We must blame the shoes!
7 -
Thanks all. I ended up getting an earlier flight. And got a hotel room with a bath. Currently sitting in said bath at 1pm - bliss!7

How fun that you got to meet @daria9191 and @tarun_YadavA
Yesterday it was 33°f when I ran. Today it was 59°. Today's run was pretty good. The sunrise was especially pretty. I ran 6.25 miles. I'm planning to sleep in a little in the morning before I run, but expecting it to be about 42°. My kids are coming in tomorrow, so I do plan to get up early enough to get a good run in. I know it's just one day, but I will still feel better about all those extra calories if I run first.

@tarun_yadavA Great running while on vacation. I'm so jealous of the Cheesecake Factory picture. I hope you had a safe trip yesterday and enjoy your Thanksgiving feast today. Also glad that you and @daria0919 were able to get together, even if it did but you ahead in the IRL meet ups, for now.
@Teresa502 I had planned on doing the Turkey Trot this year, but knew the weather might be a factor, so didn't sign up early. I'm glad I didn't because it's just a nasty morning with the rain and breeze, even though the temp isn't bad. I'm going to do one on the treadmill in a few minutes, I hope.
Great running @Laurz9191 . Glad you had a day off. Thanks for the pictures in info about the drink. So interesting.
Great run @SummerSkier !
Great picture @daria0919 . I'm so glad that you were able to meet up with them.
Very nice run @kgirlhart ! And that sky! AMAZING!3 -
WOW! What a photo @kgirlhart Our sunrise here in Austin was nothing that spectacular. Makes getting up early to run totally worth it.
@daria0919 and @tarun_yadavA that's a great photo and of course there is CAKE in it. And sadly your boot. 😏 If Tarun stops in Tx one year he is going to really ramp up those #s....😂
I was not sure how I would feel today after yesterday's long run and I might have used some chemical help to make sure I did not hurt all night but this morning except for a little soreness I seem ok and ight venture a 5K or so in the cold. The wind is certainly howling out there this morning.

Was GREAT meeting up with them!
Made my day!
@daria0919 it was so lovely to meet in person yesterday!
And thank you so much for Cinnabon cheesecake! That was an amazing surprise - after my moaning about not getting one here! 🤣
I think as I'm doing that NJ - FL corridor frequently - I must take you out properly next time I'm driving through.
@SummerSkier haha. One of these days I will pass through Austin.
PS: you were right about driving... Awfully long drive yesterday.
@quilteryoyo missed catching up with you on this trip!
And yes....I'm now in the lead with 3 f-2-f meet ups here. Haha8 -
Happy Thanksgiving everyone4
-
chilly 5K run today. Body not as sore.. yet... from the 10 miler yesterday but might be tomorrow. Sadly even though I did not have a lot of layers on I was overdressed. The feels like in the 30's fooled me.
I finally turned the furnace to heat alto I set it to 66 so it's not come on yet. Always a little anxious about switching it over but not going to get much over 70 for the foreseeable future so it's time.
5 -
So cool @tarun_yadavA and @daria0919 met up IRL❣️ All looking good. Safe travels home.
Nice Thanksgiving runs @SummerSkier @kgirlhart @Teresa502 @quilteryoyo
Cold and windy (for me} but wanted to get in a longer run since I had the day off
Happy Thanksgiving everyone 🦃5 -
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! This morning, I ran/walked the Turkey Trot 5K. Here’s my bling 🏅
9 -
Not looking forward to tonight's run. Going to be -15c/5f for a 10k. Brrrrr and no, running indoor is not an option. I have a race next month. But if it doesn't kill me, it'll make me stronger...6
-
Glad you felt good this morning after your long run @SummerSkier . Great job getting out for a 5K today.
@tarun_yadavA I wish we could have gotten together too, but it just wasn't in the cards this time. Maybe next trip.
Thanks @Scott6255 .
Nice shirt and medal @steviebee888 ! Congrats on the 5K.
Good luck with that cold run @WarmJellyfish .

I didn't post yesterday due to time constraints, mostly. I did get up early and went to the gym. I did a pre-turkey burn workout of sorts...lots of rowing, ski machine, stairs, and core work. After the gym, I took my car serviced - needed the oil changed before the trip to FL next month.
That is when my plans went South. Details under the spoiler to keep the post from being long if you aren't interested.I asked them to check it over good to make sure it was safe to drive to FL and back, like it was their mother's car and they weren't going to get any inheritance. Anyway, they did and found that the bushings on the rear actuator arms were really worn, which would make the inside of the tires wear out really quickly. So, that quick, relatively cheap trip to the mechanic turned into an affair. They needed to keep my car for the rest of the day so I needed to find a way home and back. Well, actually, they volunteered to drive me home and come pick me back up, but I didn't want them to have to do that because it is so far. Fortunately, my neighbor, W., was in town already, so he came by and picked my up and volunteered to bring me back to get it. So, that was great.
Another good thing that happened was that, when they were talking about taking me home, they asked where I lived. It turns out that one of the men working there was a "new" neighbor that I hadn't really met yet. He lives right across the road from the bottom of my driveway, on top of a hill. So, we chatted quite a bit and he seems like a really nice guy.
So, while it was an unexpected expense, it wasn't all bad and I'm really glad I got it fixed.
When I got home the first time, I had about 3 hours before I would need to go back to get the car. I boiled eggs to make deviled eggs later and made my persimmon pudding. I didn't have a lot of time and didn't want to sweat, so just walked a mile on the treadmill.
Today, I got up in time to get in a turkey trot on the treadmill. I did a run/walk, hoping for a fairly fast run, but not pushing it too hard. I did push hard enough that I was a little disappointed it wasn't faster. LOL I did a run/walk. I ran at 4.5-4.9 mph for 2 min each, then mostly walk/run of 1/2 min at 4.0/5.0-5.8, 6.0 mph. That gave me an avg pace of 12:20 min/mile. Avg HR was 137 with a max of 156 bpm.
Garmin thinks I should be able to run a 5K in 29:08 min. That's over 9 min faster than today. Humm. I think it has more confidence in me that I do. It would be nice though.
Mom and I and some other neighbor's did have a huge Thanksgiving feast at W's for lunch. It was good and a lot of food. I was disappointed in my persimmon pudding. I thought it had a raw flour taste, but no one else could taste it and really liked it. So, I'm happy they did and that keeps me from eating anymore of it.
I hope everyone here in the states had a great Thanksgiving Day. (Which includes you and your son @tarun_yadavA !)

I got out for 6.5 miles this morning. It was 42°F, but windy and felt like 38°F. So it felt pretty cold. Not like @warmjellyfish cold, but cold for me. It was a good run though. Then my kids came in and we all went to my sister's and ate way too much food.

Thank you @quilteryoyo
I did!
Ended up going to a Korean BBQ for lunch , and then got silly drunk in the Hilton bar (Asian people don't close for thanksgiving! Lol).
I was going to go to my friend's inlaws' place with my son... But... (Long story: they've been there with them since Asheville got wrecked; think they just wanted an excuse to go out as I guess there's only so much time you can spend living with your in-laws/her parents) They had moved Thanksgiving dinner to later in the evening - which allowed friend's brother-in-law to work a double pay shift in the day, and then for them to go out. my friend was hammered. His wife not impressed... Though think she more concerned with her family and relatives playing nice at dinner. So my friend being hammered probably didn't help! Lol
Should check in and see how he is lol.
I'm driving to Durham NC from GA today.
Going into downtown Atlanta to show the kid the Museum of coca cola, and hitting up this black Fried chicken place joint then long drive.
Depending on timings and how full we are... Gonna squeeze in some NC style BBQ enroute for some pork!
Oh... And today is officially a "fat day". No run, nor no Elliptical. 😐
8 -
Nice pre-turkey run @kgirlhart !
That sounds like and "interesting" Thanksgiving @tarun_yadavA . Your friend is probably NOT having the best day today - physically and matrimonially. I didn't realize that you were going to GA too this trip. Enjoy the coca cola museum.....and the food. Hopefully you can get in a run tomorrow morning, before the wedding.

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. How exciting that @tarun_yadavA and @Daria0919 got to meet IRL! Love the photo and how sweet you were to bring Tarun his fav cheesecake Daria! And I must say, you are rocking that boot!
I think winter has arrived. I went out for a walk this morning and the temp was 34F and the blowing wind made it 31F real feel. Not envying your weather @WarmJellyfish! Saving my legs for tomorrow’s long run although the strength training workout that I did before my walk had lots of squats and lunges which I’m sure I will be feeling tomorrow.
Don’t blame you for not running the Turkey Trot yesterday @quilteryoyo. The weather was nasty. I was glad that I had not volunteered to help with the timing this year. I got out at our local park and got a small run in between the showers. Glad you were able to get your car in tip-top shape for your trip.
Congrats on your Turkey Run @steviebee888!

Happy Thanksgiving to you guys and enjoyed reading about all your adventures @tarun_yadavA!
This month hasn't been good for me with work and my foot still hurting, bad weather and then crashing my car on Monday from sliding off the side of the road. It wasn't a bad crash but the airbags came out so I wasn't hurt but fell when I got out of the car so have a gash on my forehead and a few little scrapes from the airbag. I didn't run all week but did some bike to keep me sane. I had a good run this afternoon and hope to get a run in early tomorrow morning to bring me closer to goal. On the up side my husband and I are off to Tunisia for a week to a spa resort hotel tomorrow morning. So the plan is to take it really easy and not thing about anything especially work. There is a gym and looks nice in the photos so bringing my running gear and might get a few treadmill miles in. I'm not going to venture off on my own running unless I feel safe.

Looks like everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I was with my family and had a very relaxing day. I didn't run though I would have liked to. My dad lives in a tiny town and there are too many off leash dogs. It's rural and a lot of people don't have fences and just let their dogs roam. He walks most evenings and has had some close calls. He is planning to get some mace. Hearing all that I took another rest day.
We relocated from my dad house to a state park in NE TX today. This area had its first proper freeze last night and it will be hovering around freezing for the next couple of nights as well. So grateful for a camper van right now instead of the tent.
I went out for a short run after we got set up and will get out again tomorrow. Funny thing: I forgot to pack sports bras!! Luckily I have my hydration vest, which covers my chest well. So I did my run in my regular bra basically using the hydration vest for support. Luckily it worked! Benefits of having a small chest!8 -
Happy belated birthday @Avidkeo! You share a birthday with my mom!
@tarun_yadavA You've been very busy on this trip and seen lots of places and people @daria0919. Hope the wedding goes well. Your run pic was quite scenic!
@Laurz9191 I'm so glad to hear your calf seems to have sorted itself out! That potato Mac and cheese sounds amazing!
Thanks for setting us up @AlphaHowls.5
