@Mari33a I'm glad you weren't hurt any worse in your wreck. Taking it easy was a good call. Enjoy your trip!
Great run @SummerSkier . This year really has flown by.
Thanks for setting up Dec @AlphaHowls . I hope your toes feel better soon.
@martaindale Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. I understand about the rural area and dogs. That's how it is around here, but as far as I know, all of the dogs that are roaming are friendly. Even though I have altered my route to avoid one house that has several small dogs that run out into the road after me and I just don't trust them. Enjoy your camping trip. A camper van is much nicer than a tent when the weather is cold. Also glad that the vest was enough support for you. I'm run in my regular bra before and it's has been okay.

83.99/80 mile goal
I did another turkey trot, sort of, this morning before mom and I set out for our second Thanksgiving feast - this one at my nephew's house with family.
I was limited on time, so decided on a short run, with enough walking to make it a 5K total. I ran various repeats of 4.5, 4.7, 5.0, and 6.0 mph for 2 or 3 min each with no walking today. The avg pace was 12:09 min/mile. Avg HR was 132 with a max of 151 bpm.
A couple of pictures of the kids and mom in the spoiler.
Can you tell which child marches to the beat of her own drummer? LOL
This one is pretty good.8 -

Going for 185 in November.
2024 running the year the annual goal. 302.5 to go. Want this wrapped up by Dec 19th when I fly out.
I think I have 40 guaranteed run days.
1st to 22nd in Nov. Then I fly to the States for 8 nights.
Then I got 1st to 19th in Dec. Then off to Costa Rica.
I will get some runs in while abroad. I always do. But gonna have to treat them as bonus runs.
So it's gonna be tough.
So I'm aiming for 185 in November.
Morning all.
Fell short. Got in 163 miles.
Given trip - 185 was maybe a bit ambitious.
Big picture: I'm on 1884.5 miles. So, 139.5 to do to 'Run the year'.
I got in 3.3Miles at 11"05 this morning on a trail run in Durham. With a hungover groom who wanted to quit several times.
Pretty. But sorry Team Trail... I prefer to run on concrete/tarmac. Just always conscious of a misstep on something uneven obscured by all the autumn leaves.Oh and @Laurz9191 didn't see anything from Slovakia at the World of coca cola. Moldova the nearest country with something coke bought out.
My son tried this Plum Fanta from China - which was positively VILE 🤢. Tasted like fizzy BBQ sauce6 -

Thanks @kgirlhart . Great running this month and congrats on making your revised goal. Enjoy the Nutcracker. I love that ballet, but probably won't get to see it this year.
Considering everything, you did great @Mari33a .
Thanks @tarun_yadavA . You are doing great with your running this year. I have confidence that you can meet your goal, even though it may be a push since you have another trip coming up. Great job pushing the groom to finish the run this morning. Enjoy the wedding festivities.3 -

In keeping going, I might as well keep my streak. Not sure if I have any logic left there, but there it is. Thank you for the thoughts and wishes.4 -
@AlphaHowls Maybe you could do a week of just a mile or so to keep the streak going and see if that helps?

90.00/80 mile goal
I had intended to run 10 miles this morning, but I have a little bit of that upper respiratory thing going on and when I run I start coughing. It's annoying and hard to breathe, so I stopped at 6.01 miles to bring my monthly total to 90 miles! That's the most I've had all year. I was surprised when I looked back last year and had 4 months that were over 90 miles and all the rest were 80 or more. I'm not sure what happened this year that made me stop that trend, but, hopefully, it's back.
6 -
@AlphaHowls have you considered this might be gout? I am obviously no expert but it is such a strange thing to all of a sudden happen while stretching.
My car was generous to me today. After not driving anywhere for a few days and it being cold at night when I went to start it to go do some groceries this morning it coughed and delayed but started. I tried it once more and then risked a trip to the store. It got me home but then it totally died. 🧐 So my month for repairs to vehicles I guess. I decided to AAA it since they are good with batteries and they got it all done within an hour. I can't remember the last time I had the battery replaced - pre pandemic at least and the terminals were corroded so battery was gone. Anyway, glad to get that done.
Nov running is a wrap.. and crossed over 1400 running miles for the year. Not my best year, but I will be satisfied with 1500 and set my Dec goal to 100 again.

I have gout and take medication for it. This does not feel the same. I can also sometimes get relief from gout symptoms with ice and Tylenol. I get a little bit of relief with ice, but once I move again, it is there. I also think it started about a week before I 'noticed' it. I felt a little niggle when I started the new mizunos.
@quilteryoyo I know that I 'need' to do that, but stress chases me like an ankle biting chihuahua.
DANGER!
7 -
Great running this year @SummerSkier . Glad your car got you where you were going and you were able to get a new battery quickly.
You did great this month @Emilienewme !
Hahaha @AlphaHowls . Those ankle biting chihuahuas are indeed the worst. I'm just afraid if you keep running from the chihuahua you will just get worse and then not be able to run at all. I know you know yourself, so do what you must, but be careful.5 -
Final tally: 186 of 200km for the month. It's good as I missed a few big days thanks to life and the weather butting in.
Today was another trail run in the foothills. -10c at the start, -5c at the end thanks to a Chinook sweeping in. 14km and 330m in elevation gain. Decided to cut it short as the left knee started to grumble and I noticed I was working the right leg a lot more.
At least the sun finally came out!
This was browner a couple of weeks ago.

Finished out the month with an 11-mile run today. It was 25F but the sun was shining so that helped make things feel warmer. I really hit the struggle bus around mile 10 today. Hoping that doesn't happen next Saturday during my half.
@Mari33a – So sorry about the car crash. Glad you weren’t seriously injured. Sounds like a spa resort for a week is just what you need. Enjoy your trip and send us pictures!
Thanks for setting up December for us @AlphaHowls. Hope your foot is healed soon. I know it’s has to be hard on you not to get to run your normal mileage. I’m impressed that you have been able to keep doing what you have done.
Speaking of dogs, the county where I live does not have a leash law so dogs can roam free. My running friend S was biking in one section of the county earlier this week and got bite by a pit bull/shepherd mix. He’s come out and barked and chased them before but I guess that was her unlucky day. She got a tetanus shot and is going back to the house tomorrow to make sure the dog doesn’t have rabies or has had his vaccine.
Great family pics @quilteryoyo.
Nice trail to run on @Tarun_yadavA.
Gorgeous views @WarmJellyfish!
Congratulations to everyone reaching their goals this month and to all who tried. Let’s go get December started!
7 -
Great mileage @WarmJellyfish . Such beautiful scenery....but way too cold for me.
Thanks and great running @Teresa502 . You are much hardier than I running outside today. I'm sure you will do fine next week. I hope your friend S is okay. Did she report the dog? Being bitten while biking is really scary, as it could also make you wreck.

Got caught up in the Thanksgiving weekend stuff and didn't post a couple of runs. My last one for Nov was a long run at a state park. It was about half road, half trail. Nice and cool morning, beautiful scenery, and didn't see a person until the last bit of the trail. Perfect!
See y'all in December!5 -
I’m very late in my November posting, but the trip ended to Bratislava was quite exhausting (fun too), but when I returned I was behind with everything and still am….
Last month I ran 137.9/200km. Given I physically could run for 1.5 weeks and then had to ease back into it, I am definitely ok with that.6 -
You did great @Laurz9191 .1
