Hi, I am Barbara. I am 67 years young. I have gained weight due to Covid/cold and a knee injury. I am looking to take off 15 pounds and hope we can motivate each other!

    Hello, Barbara, and welcome!

I'm betting you can do this. I'm also female, lost around 50 pounds at age 59-60 (after about 3 previous decades of overweight/obesity), and have stayed at a healthy weight since, now age 69. To lose weight, I didn't materially increase exercise, just changed the eating side of the equation: Different portion sizes, changed proportions of foods on the plate, lower frequency of very calorie dense foods like fried foods or sweet baked goods. Honestly, it was easier than I expected.

I'm not a great motivator (plus think motivation is over-rated in my case, since I definitely can't stay motivated for the entire rest of my life :D ); and I'm clearly at a little different stage of the process than you are. Nonetheless, I wanted to stop by your thread to welcome you to the MFP Community, and tell you I believe you can accomplish your goals, if you commit to them.

Wishing you success, because the results are worth the effort, in my experience!
