Tonight I pulled all the old broken lights off my Christmas wreath and mantle garland and restrung them with new lights. I was very proud of myself for not putting it off any longer. Maybe I will make that bread on Saturday if I can keep this kind of momentum. 😉

Today, I got a call from a coworker who has been doing what I do for 2 years (I just started in June) asking me for help with some of the most basic stuff. I don’t know how he has been in this position for 2 years and still doesn’t know how to use the company’s administrative portal. Anyway, it looks like I’ll be on his speed dial now because I was able to show him a few tricks to help him out.

MIL spoke to her pulmonologist today because her oxygen saturation keeps dropping below 90 unless she’s on her oxygen that the doctor didn’t want her using. The doctor told her to stay on the oxygen. But every time she came out of her room, she didn’t have it on (her line is long enough to go to the kitchen… pretty long). She doesn’t follow doctors’ orders well, but it’s not my life. So, I can’t do anything about it.

Haven’t gone for a walk since Saturday. Really need to get out there. Not just for my health and exercise, but to pick up all the dang trash! I don’t understand why people litter. Do they get a high from it? Is there something wrong with throwing their fast food bags, takeout containers, soda cans, water bottles, beer cans, liquor bottles, used and unused condoms, douche bottles, dirty diapers, over-the-counter HIV test kits, etc in their own trash cans when they get home? (Yes, I’ve picked up all those things… with my trash grabbers, not my hands! 🤢) Why do they have to throw it in our yards? So irritating, but it makes me feel better to pick it up knowing that I’m helping my neighbors (especially the elderly) get the trash out of their yards and trying to be a good steward of what God gave us… too bad I can’t stop judging those who drive by me and wondering if I’m picking up their trash!😡

About to head to bed shortly. Good night all.

It is soooo frustrating when our elders don’t follow medical advice, or take care of themselves in general (and hey, I guess that happens at any age). I find it extremely hard to adopt the “not my circus, not my monkeys” attitude, but for self preservation, it’s something we have to do.

As for the trash, OMG do I feel this! I am on a main road near a stop sign, and for some reason the approach to a stop sign makes people think it’s all right to throw their soda cans and cigarette butts out the window! Gak! Mercifully, I have not had to deal with condoms and used medical tests, and that is arguably worse!

My weight loss journey is feeling like my golf game…. I get better at putting, and my drives go to hell. Try to improve my short game, and my putting sucks again.

I concentrate on logging and moderating my food and alcohol intake, and exercise gets blown off for the week. I commit to attending all my exercise classes, wake up late and cancel them all (I’ve done that many times this week). I stay on top of putting away all the things out in the house where they don’t belong, and I stop tracking my budgeting app. It’s like my brain can handle only so much tracking and diligence! Something always falls by the wayside. Anyone else experiencing this?

@SurferGirl1982 we put up lights every year. As much as my husband hates climbing a ladder and getting on the roof, he likes the lights too. I refuse to decorate until after Thanksgiving because I firmly believe each holiday should be celebrated in its time. I hate seeing Christmas stuff before Halloween in the stores! One holiday at a time! LOL

Here’s my fireplace with the garland I replaced the lights in last night as well as my husband asleep on the floor. LOL

I grew up with tv commercials about not littering and the message being preached at school. My mother would’ve kicked my butt if I threw something out of the car! My kids know that littering is bad, too.

I’ve seen the “oxygen purses”. I suggested one when she initially got the oxygen after her last hospital stay. I can’t remember why she couldn’t use or get that type of equipment. It may have been something to do with her insurance. I stopped asking, making suggestions, and for the most part worrying about it. If she doesn’t use her oxygen and suffocates because her oxygen saturation drops too low, then that’s on her. I can only try to be helpful and concerned for so long before I decide that it’s just not worth the effort or anger. She’s either going to do it or not. I just hate to see how it affects my husband.

    Anyway… still wine free.

Two glasses of champagne last night on “wine night” at work-my colleague brought it in to celebrate my birthday (that I had last week).

I’m off today, and excited to get the candles in the window, and interior Christmas decorating done. The tree isn’t for another week or two so I don’t kill it.
