Ahhhh I blinked abd a week passed!
Still here, still going lol. Basically took a week of due to travel and being tired lol.
Have started a garmin programme to improve fitness for 16 weeks. Ends right before my next overseas trip so that's good timing
This morning was a 41min run. It was hard but I did it!9 -
December Goal: 125 miles
12/1: 10.02 miles
12/2: 3.26 miles
12/3: 6.02 miles
12/4: 6.02 miles
12/5: 6.25 miles
31.57/125 miles completed for December
I ran 6.25 miles this morning. It was cooler tha yesterday and really foggy this morning when I started out. But after about 2.5 miles I looked up and realized that it was clear. It was dark, but the sky was clear and the stars were bright. But then after about 2 more miles as I was nearing the park I realized that it was foggy again. So the question is, was it only foggy on the east side of town, or did the fog clear and the roll back in? Either way, I really enjoyed my run today.
Happy Birthday @Scott6255. 🎂 I miss @shanaber and Hobbes too.

Morning all
Got in 5.0M at 10"12.
Happy (belated) birthday @Scott6255 ... Naturally, I drank one on your behalf yesterday! Haha! ... Plans to celebrate over weekend??
And happy heavenly birthday to @shanaber8 -
Wow. Great job with that run @Avidkeo .
Glad you enjoyed your run @kgirlhart . Funny that you didn't really notice the changes in the weather right away. My guess is there is a water source on the east side of town that made it foggy there and not as you got further away.
Nice run @tarun_yadavA .5 -
Well this is a great start to the day, ran for 1hr and 1 minute (garmin be weird sometimes), which was 8k! And ran the whole way with 99% execution!
Fantastic feeling!
And then off to work in ED (A and E for Americans, I think?)10 -

Hi everyone!
Finally checking in for December and slowly trying to get back in a groove.
I came back Sunday night and went on a run every day to get a total of 46.4km.
Tuesday I had a pretty awful run. I was planning on running 9km but at about 6km one of my ears felt a bit pinched from my headband and when I readjusted it, my war bud fell out. I stopped immediately and looked as carefully as I could… for 30 minutes! Nothing…. I could not find it on the dark covered forest path surrounded by leaves! It wasn’t cheap either. Long story short, I had to cut my run short, was late for a meeting, and am now an owner of a new pair of ear buds.
All my other runs were mostly uneventful. The weather is quite dreary and with my injury and travel I am just trying to take each day as a success. I want to add speed work again once I feel I am back in a rhythm.
I am aiming for 200km in December.7 -
Yeah for a great run @Avidkeo !
Great run @SummerSkier . Cold and WINDY are not the best conditions for tennis. If you did, I hope the wind died down and you had fun.
Nice running @Laurz9191 . Sorry about the earbud. I'm sure that was very frustrating. But, you have a new pair!1 -

34.83/125 miles completed for December
I forgot to post my run yesterday. I ran 3.25 miles. It was 29°F and it was cold. I was just planning a short run though, so it wasn't too bad. Today is my usual rest day and it is just as well. It is cold and rainy. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow for my long run.
Sorry about the earbuds @Laurz9191.
Way to get it done when you weren't feeling it @quilteryoyo.
5 -
Thanks @kgirlhart . Way to get out and get your run in with the cold weather. I hope it is better tomorrow.

Dec 7 - Walked 1.00 miles - Ran 10.00 miles - treadmill
26.25/80 mile goal
I did my long run today and went further than the 10 miles of the race next week. It's a mental thing...to know that I can do it. I did take it fairly easy and ran/walked mostly for 2/1 min for the first hour and then 1/1 min. Still, my legs were pretty tired at the end. I hope the actual race will be a little easier and a bit quicker.
Today, the avg pace for the 10 miles was 13:55 min/mile. My Avg HR was 118, with a max of 139 bpm.
8 -
@quilteryoyo well done on your race practice
Goal : 60km for December
2 Dec 8.2km in 1h run (7:27 /km pace) goal pace repeats
3 Dec 2.89km ice rink walk with another mum
4 Dec 7.89km in 1h (7:36/km pace) easy run
5 Dec 5.4km ice rink walk with a couple of other mums
7 Dec Saturday parkruns were cancelled due to the storm. I still got in an afternoon walk after the weather calmed down a bit. 5.9km windy and wet family walk around the village, the storm hadn't caused too much damage and the fallen trees on local roads got sorted quickly
8 Dec 4.31km ice rink walk with a skating mum
+ 5km run in 33:12 minutes (6:38/km pace) with another mum, making the most of our girls training. We had to run around a couple of fallen trees and one of the walkway we usually take was shut. It was very cold and the wind was still strong so we did good time. Garmin must have thought it was a good run too because my VO2max improved by a point 😄
My knee has been bothering me a bit lately, I had my shoes for a while so I am hoping that changing running shoes will help
21.09 km done, 38.91 km to go

I think that I am out for a while. I hurt my back and am walking with a cane. I don't know what I did but yesterday morning my balance was off and it was hard to stand.
I signed up for a 5K race this Saturday and will miss that. It is a holiday-themed race and last year they had 4700 finishers. I haven't missed that race for the last 10 years or so.

It wasn't raining this morning, but it was cold and cloudy and damp, not my favorite running weather. I wore shorts and a t-shirt with my sleeves and my fingerless gloves. I was worried that they would be too much, but I was glad I wore them. I took them off a couple of times, but always ended up putting them back on. I ran 10 miles. It was a pretty uneventful run, but I did see this cool heron.
@emptydog So sorry that your back is bothering you and you will miss your race. Hope that you heal quickly.
4 -
Thanks @Emilienewme . Great running and use of your time. I'm glad the storms weren't worse for you.
Oh no @emptydog . I'm so sorry to hear this. Back pain is awful. I hope it feels better soon.
Great run @kgirlhart . That is a cool heron. I hope the weather improves for you this week.
I did my rest day treadmill walk today. I was watching a game show on TV and accidently walked 1.25 miles instead of 1.00.

Things have been a bit hectic and I got very behind on the thread and posting my runs. I liked and hugged through the last few pages. I am going to try to do a better job of staying on top of this.
It's been cold and rainy here. I've gotten out for my runs though. As you know, I kind of love crappy weather.
Happy belated birthday @Scott6255.
Hope the back feela better soon @emptydog. Have you had something like this before?4 -
Hello everyone.
Got in 7.49M at 09"47.
(Ran yesterday but forgot to post!!)
Hope everyone doing ok7 -
Good running everyone. Liked posts lots.
49 of 150kms so far. Was super tired on sunday's run after postholing lots on saturday. Good time to start the taper.
Played tour guide for the weekend.
Look what's peeking out of the upper left window

I've been swamped at work and just now managing to post for the month. Like @martaindale, I got caught up on reading everyone's posts and liking and hugging as appropriate. As many of you saw on Strava, I ran a half marathon on Saturday in Lenoir City, Tennessee. It was 19F at the start but thankfully the sun was shining. The course was very well marked and had police stopping traffic at all the road crossings. My favorite part of the course was on the greenbelt trail in the city. There were four aid stations with water, gatorade and gu packets. The finish line DJ/announcer was so high energy - even for those of us in the back of the pack he was still going strong. There were 114 finishers in the race. I placed 3rd in my age group (there were 5 in it). Definitely no PR for me but those days are long gone and I'm happy just finishing upright!9
-
@Teresa502 congrats on your 3rd place AG finish in your HM! Getting on the podium in great!!
@emptydog sorry to hear about your back and having to DNS your race I know how upsetting that can be to miss a race you do annually.
@WarmJellyfish that snow LOOKS beautiful, but I sure couldn't run in it. You are made of something different than me that's for sure!
It was cold and rainy all weekend, so I stuck to the TM Saturday and Sunday. Turned warm for a day today, so opted to run outside this evening instead of tomorrow when it turns cold and windy again.
Got 6.2 miles in. It felt pretty good.

5k for me today. It’s amazing how much my fitness has dropped in the last couple of months so my slow pace had quite a bit to do with fitness or lack thereof and the rest of it I’ll blame on my still dodgy calf. It is improving, but I was forced to take three or four short walking breaks.
Onwards!10 -
02/12 3.15 miles
04/12 3.21 miles
05/12 3.21 miles
09/12 3.28 miles
Total 12.85/50 miles
Slow limpy run but still enjoyed it. More neighbors have their Christmas lights up so it looked lovely in the dark. I've still to get an appointment with the doctor to check my foot. They will probably send me for an x-ray to our nearest hospital which is 25 miles away which will take all day and because I haven't got my car back from being repaired I have to wait until my husband can take me on his day off.
@Scott6255 - Happy belated birthday!
@Avidkeo - That was a great run Go Girl!

@daria0919 @kgirlhart @quilteryoyo @martaindale @Scott6255 Thank you for your kind words. My fine wife keeps me dosed up with aspirin, and that helps. I also do some in-house crazy laps using my cane on and off, and I am getting better.
While sitting here and staring at the calendar, the thought came to me that 2026 would be a fine year to do a marathon with the 26 and all.
9 -
Hello everyone.
Got in 5.6M at 09"50.
@Mari33a hope you had a nice holiday and glad you got a good run in, despite your foot
@ContraryMaryMary sorry to hear about your calf 😔
@Teresa502 well done again! 🙌🏽
@quilteryoyo as always, thank you! 😊 Your training is going great. You will kill it!
Side note-
I slept awful. Not just cos I was at my mother's (pillow thing). But... I watched Silence Of The Lambs before bed... after a gap of.... 20 years? This century? Forgotten how disturbing that was.
Teenager : "Dad what's a good serial killer movie?"
Me: "umm... " ... "Silence of the lambs".
Teenage: "what's that?" (Every bit the obnoxious GenZ teenager oblivious to life/history/culture that predates the tiktok app)...
So we watched Silence of the lambs.
😐
Think it'll be a Hallmark Christmas movie before bed tonight.9 -
@martaindale Great running in your favorite weather. I hope things calm down for you soon.
@WarmJellyfish I'm amazed that you run in that much snow! What is that in the window? A t-rex?
@Teresa502 Congratulations on the 3rd place finish! With that 19F start, I'm glad I'm heading south for my race.
Great running @Scott6255 .
You're doing great @ContraryMaryMary . I hope your calve quits giving you issues soon.
@Mari33a I hope you can get an answer about your foot soon!5 -
Working from home this morning so I tried to dodge the rain showers. When I started the sun had popped out and I could see blue sky. I made it 2.9 miles before the rain started again. I was only 0.3 tenths of a mile from my driveway but it was all uphill of course. Once I got to my mailbox the rain had pretty much stopped so I continued on past it. About half a mile later, it started again so I made a u-turn and headed home. Thankfully, the temps were around 50F so it wasn't very unpleasant. I ended up with 4.33 miles.8

@quilteryoyo I think it's a Velociraptor....
Let is snow, let it snow....
@Scott6255 I live in Canada. I have to suck it up lol6 -
Morning all
Got in 7.49M at 09"22.
Oh, recommend horror-thriller "Heretic" starring Hugh Grant. (Yes, this seems to be a nightly reoccurring thing now with my teen!).
Hugh Grant is brilliant in it as a comical British religion-hating pyschopath5 -

Hugh Grant ♥️ giggle…. Though he’s gotten old…. will have to watch
