I woke up and thought, wow the wine devil has been very happy with me lately saying yes — all too often….. Now that I’ve been on this thread going on two years I can see the slope can get slippery again over time and daily vino at any amount or content (%) can creep back in so slyly and before I/we know it….POOF!

Will attend two favorite gym classes this week and walk everyday in the sunshine while it lasts.
Have an early dental appointment tomorrow morning so AF tonight.

Let’s stay WELL and on track with our personal goals during this super busy season.

FLICK OFF that wine devil ( if not every day, every other)

Lots of great support going on this month!

@SurferGirl1982 - something you mentioned jumped out to me - “I know some of the members here just drink a glass or two of wine a day. So, I would imagine, quitting wouldn't be that hard.”

I’m happily one of those members, and not attempting to quit as I do enjoy California and Oregon wines. Less is always my goal. But, I’ll be the first to say it’s not easy!

Only one glass of wine last night at home. Yay, but now I’m thinking it’s time to try skipping days, or at the very least, dropping down to LA wine (once I get to the store). I still haven’t tried my NA red wine yet, I should crack that open.

I went to lunch with a friend yesterday, not intending to drink. I explained that I’m trying to cut back, and that I have to get stuff done. I know that wine at lunch makes me completely unproductive for the rest of the afternoon. (She didn’t order any alcohol).

Well, the urge to order a glass of wine was strong! It was so weird, not having wine! Usually I go out to lunch with a friend, and wine is ordered, no questions asked! So I was proud that I got through that challenge. I came home and took a huge nap, and got nothing done anyway, but at least I skipped it at lunch! Just as unproductive, just as good of a nap, but yet somehow a win. I’ll take it!

    Nicely done! :)

Work is slowing a little. There’s always an ebb during December for anything dealing with the military. I work with military chaplains (don’t think I’ve ever mentioned that). It’s interesting how I get treated. This past weekend was wild because I had 13 events I planned happening. I had 5 events have problems. 2 were minor (like no coffee creamer delivered with the coffee), but 3 were big issues. Two of the 3 chaplains handled things gracefully, and I was able to get things fixed (just waiting on all the bills😉). But, I of the issues I had to put my foot down and get a chaplain to stop yelling at people, and the whole reason for the problem was him! I planned exactly what was documented, but he didn’t document it correctly. This morning, he called to accuse me of changing his documentation! 🤯 I couldn’t believe it! I emailed my management who was able to provide proof I didn’t.

I am the person who sent a pre-emptive email to my manager that I screwed up an event because I misread an email and didn’t follow the documentation, so the chaplain might ding my evaluation. I’m so freaking honest I tattle on myself! I am brutally honest about my performance. I am not perfect, but I work hard and try hard to not make mistakes. When I do, I own it and try to fix it.

I have only had 3 chaplains over the past 6 years that have just made me want to wring their necks! This guy was one of them. It’s hard to believe they are supposed to be men of God.🙄 I have to keep reminding myself they are human and just as imperfect as me, and I need to pray for them. But, my goodness is God testing me on this… no doubt!

Only one glass of wine last night… that’s four days in a row of less alcohol! Plus, my weight is coming down, and it’s a combo of reining in the calories and alcohol, and exercising. Yay!

Congrats @NonnieDoiron on your son’s wins! He definitely needs a larger medal rack!

@globalhiker thanks for the motivation, and I’m sorry to hear about all the people in your life lost to alcohol related diseases. Very sobering, no pun intended.

@chicbuc wow, your grandson’s form while he dances is amazing! Is he looking at a conservatory for college? He should!

He definitely wants to make it a career and has been looking. He is an overachiever in all he does. He didn't even start dancing until he was 9...almost 10. He was dedicated to Karate and had to get his black belt first  He did that and then started dancing seriously.

Awesome job on the LESS, btw. I wish I could do that!

    Good morning Less Alcohol friends!

Only two weeks until Christmas for those who celebrate. It’s been an easy week for me, lower stress, more exercising and I’m enjoying “taking care” of my healthy self. Scale showing a little love today too. Mailed out of state gifts to grandkids and did a little shopping for the husband.

My married adult kids would say I used to ‘overdo’ the Christmas gifts until recently.
NOT overdoing on all levels this year and it feels great!

Setting my intention each day and it’s been an AF week so far!

    ⛄️🧑🏻‍🎄🎄 🎁

@globalhiker wow, your message today is one we need to hear, thank you!! Life is a truly a gift and we can use it for good or waste it. Congrats on AF days and a very successful sober journey!

@chicbuc your grandson is incredibly talented! How exciting that he wants to continue his talent in the art of dance. I can see why you love watching him!

    @xbowhunter Yes!
