I missed my speed workout this week. Impromptu happy hour to celebrate a minor victory at work. It was fun and spending a couple of hours with friends was worth missing a run.6 -
Hi everyone!
Yesterday I did a sprint workout. I was off the mark with most of the split times bit still incredibly grateful that I got the run done. I was a bit underdressed and there was freezing rain and wind, so that part wasn’t all that pleasant. I ran 13.2km.
The day then warmed up and in the evening I played 50 minutes of soccer in a parents vs. 9/10 year old kids match. Man some of them are so fast! It was like a sprint workout all over again but it was great fun!
This morning I was quite stiff but still managed to get 8.1km done.
151.2/200km for December!7 -
Way to get out in the cold @Mari33a .
@martaindale Great running. Yeah for work victory and some time spent with friends. I don't think most of us do enough of that these days.
@Laurz9191 Great running in the freezing rain. Love that you got to play soccer with the kids. I noticed you didn't say who won?3 -
Managed a pain-free 6km run yesterday, which I was thrilled about, however, I’ve been ramping up the Pilates in the last couple of weeks and my hamstrings were absolutely shot - it’s a good kind of sore though. I was wanting to go to Pilates again this morning, but in the wind down to Christmas, they have canned their morning classes so I will head out in the garden instead and do a bit of last-minute tidying before our in-laws Christmas party this afternoon. Being summer here, Christmas is all about outdoor entertaining, so I need to pull a few weeds and mow the lawns, ready for a vicious champagne-fueled game of croquet or two.
My Christmas lilies are looking lovely:6 -

Yesterday, I was able to get in a run on the treadmill, which felt pretty good. Avg pace was 12:54 min/mile.
Today, I had planned to do another run, but had some minor tummy issues, so got a late start and then didn't have the time for a run, before leaving for a Christmas luncheon. I think all the travel and not eating normally just messed with my system.

Hi everyone!
Today I talked myself into doing 3x 7 minute intervals. It was hard but I was able to hold my target splits and am now feeling slightly more ready for my 10km “salami run” on New Year’s Eve. The ground was quite muddy in parts but luckily that was mostly during my warm-up/cool down. It did make the path slippery and squishy . I ran 9.5km.

It’s slow progress at 2.5 miles per run but will be worth it if January is pain free. We have another storm weather warning from 3am so might not get a run 2moro.
Well done on hitting the 2000 miles @tarun_yadavA & have a great holiday3 -

Great running @Laurz9191 . Is that the race where you get a salami as a prize for finishing? I'm sure you will do great.
Great mileage @SummerSkier .
@tarun_yadavA Congrats on making your 2000 miles! You are awesome! Love the pictures. The food looks like a little much for me for breakfast. "Potato ball thing!" Is that it's official name? Enjoy your vacation. You deserve that celebration!
You're doing great @Mari33a . I hope your patience rewards with with healthy running in Jan.

I made myself get up and go to the gym this morning. I'm glad I did. It felt good. The workout was quite a bit of cardio and then dead lift. I maxed today at 90 pounds x 8. I couldn't have done more, but didn't want to push it since it's been a while since I've lifted.
After I got home, I did a treadmill wun. I was trying to not sweat a lot because mom and I were going to head out soon after to visit a couple of older widow women and give them a small Christmas gift. So, I did a wun - walked/ran for 2/1 min at 3.8, 9 x (4.5/4.0), 3.8 mph, Avg pace was 129 with a max of 150 bpm.2 -

100.70/125 miles completed for December
It has been a busy week and I have not had a chance to post. But I have been running so I am posting 4 runs.
Tuesday I ran 6 miles. It was 45°F so cold, but not too windy so it wasn't too bad, but I was slow and tired. My average pace was 12:27.
Wednesday I ran 6 miles. I was still tired, but my pace was 11:38, so not as slow as Tuesday and the run felt great. It was cold and windy so even though it was about 48°, it felt like 34°. There was a cold front was coming in so it was colder at the end than at the start. I was glad I got a good run in because I was super busy at work.
Thursday I was really tired and I overslept so I only had time to run 5.25 miles. It was very cold, 32° feels like 29°, but I was dressed well. I was much quicker at a pace of 10:30.
I took today as a vacation day. I debated not running, but decided that I would. I usually run shorter run on Fridays so I ran 3.15 miles. It was 36° feels like 33°. I dressed similarly to yesterday, but since the sun was out, I decided that I was overdressed so I changed. I was glad because I would have been too warm. I was much speedier today. I finished the 5K in 29:38 minutes with an average pace of 9:24. It was a great run and I felt really good.
I am planning to take a rest day tomorrow (I guess today since it is after midnight). I want to finish getting ready for Christmas, and my son is going to bring his dog to stay with us while he and his girlfriend go to San Antonio for Christmas with her father.

Morning all
Got in 5.6M at 10"37 in today.
Wasn't counting on a run today, but up early. So ran in dirty, sweaty clothes.
Inch towards that 2024 number.
Thank you @quilteryoyo
Off to Osa peninsula today. 🐊 🦜 🐍 🦥3 -
@kgirlhart Great running. I love that you got faster every day! Enjoy time with your son today.
@tarun_yadavA I'm glad to see that you got in a run today. I predict you will get in those "extra" 24 miles. Enjoy your day!1 -
Waited for it to warm up a little. I might have gotten out of the mood or something, but it was a struggle. Went out easy but it felt really hard, and didn't get easier. But I managed to finish 10.3 miles.
2 -
@ContraryMaryMary So glad to hear you have been able to run pain free.
@tarun_yadavA Mmmm fried plantains are the best! Enjoy your time in CR!!
@SummerSkier I'm also enjoying the 40's! Feels like December finally!0
