@warmjellyfish When were you at Kennedy Space Center? Did you work there?
You're doing great @tarun_yadavA . Thanks for the sloth pictures. They are such interesting creatures. I'll be on pins and needles until I hear about your safari experience. Wow. That does sound scary and, I must say, in that first picture, you look pretty scary yourself. LOL I'm not a snakes and spiders person, so that would have been a hard no from the get go for me. I'm glad you made it out alive with a tale to tell.
Nice running @Teresa502 . and you are welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed the race report.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!4 -
Happy Christmas everyone, and wishing you a healthy prosperous New Year ahead.
I am working on a January running goal and am breaking out my running shoes again. See you then.6 -

Welcome back @chris_in_cal !!! And Merry Christmas! We missed you!
@tarun_yadavA Snakes and spiders is what everyone wanted to see? Let me guess, your wife passed on the night safari? At least you all made it back to tell the tale .2 -
Merry Christmas everyone!

Glad to see you back on here @chris_in_cal . We've all been concerned about you. Do we get new shoe porn?
Great family picture @tarun_yadavA !

Merry Christmas all!
Not sure a snake and spider tour would be at the top of my night time tour list @tarun_yadavA 😳😳😳
But the sloth is HUGE and very cool.
Nice to see Mr Chris returning to our midst again. 😀
Today was a shorter 4 miler. Attempted to push the pace a little bit since it was shorter distance. Need 21 more miles for the year to match last year's running total. Should be doable.
Off to visit family for Xmas in a little while after getting all kitties stoned this morning with catnip presents (scratchers and candycanes)

Was the guide named Crazy Carlos by chance? We had one that latched on to us as we were hiking. In the end he took us to a beautiful waterfall, some lunch spot and we ended up giving him a ride to his house at the end of the day. Glad it all worked out well for you all also!2 -
I met a friend for 6 miles this morning. Heading to parents now to celebrate the holiday. Merry Christmas everyone!5

I got out this morning for a nice 9.2km run. To be festive I wore my son’s Santa hat with LEDs and was a running Christmas decoration .

64.77/80 mile goal
I got up early to cook the breakfast casserole I made for mom, William (my neighbor) and me for Christmas morning. After I got it in the oven, I went down for a mile walk on the treadmill.
I had planned to run, but my back was bothering me this morning. I could barely walk when I first got up. I think I hurt it by wrapping presents while sitting in the floor yesterday afternoon. It didn't hurt until I got up from the piano bench at church last night. It took a catch and then again when walking last night. I could feel it being tight, so sat on the heating pad last night.
Fortunately, it feels near normal tonight, so I'm hoping I'll be back to my old self tomorrow. I think it is odd that wrapping gifts would do it since I sit in the floor at daycare all the time and am okay, but that has to be what it was.
The casserole was good and then mom and I went to my Aunt's for a late lunch with her and my other aunt and a friend. It was good too. Way too much food though.
I'm taking care of the neighbor's animals while they are gone on a long vacation. They have chickens and a rooster that is mean to the kids. I've been watching him, but he hasn't even acted like he was going to "attack" me...that is until today. I was in their pen and felt something, looked, and the little sucker had got me with his talons! He tried a couple more times, but I swished him away with a bucket. I may have to have chicken for dinner before they get back.
Chicken attack results. It's the side and back of my leg, so hard to get a good picture.
Overall, I had a great day. I hope everyone else had a Merry Christmas also.

Nice run @SummerSkier ! I hope you enjoyed your day. hahaha about the catnip.
Great run @Teresa502 .
@WarmJellyfish I've been on that ride. It's very jarring, if I recall correctly. I'm sure the real thing is worse.
Nice run @Laurz9191 . I think we need a picture.1 -
Good to hear from you @chris_in_cal!0

Merry Christmas everyone. Wishing you all the very best for 2025, May all your running dreams come true!
I spent Christmas Day with my brothers and sister and their families at my younger brother’s home in rural Bay of Plenty. He is on a lifestyle block which was a quarry in a previous life and the old pit is now filled with water, giving him a lake about an acre big. so the children (ages 10-23) had the most marvellous time boating and then capsizing each other into the lake.
We all ate far too much - he did chicken, pork, and lamb on the barbecue rotisserie, my sisters made a selection of salads, and I made trifles (one boysenberry, the other cherries in sherry), and pavlova for dessert. Lush.
The weather was stunning, contrary to the wet forecast, we had sunshine, blue skies and about 28 degrees (82f). ‘‘Twas lovely.
No running while away - too busy chatting and eating. Drove home today (about four hours) and plan to run tomorrow.5 -
Sounds like a lovely day @ContraryMaryMary !0
