    Morning, kids,

Slept IN this morning, nearly 9 hours! Finally getting myself back around to my own routine...

Routines: One thing I did add to the routine in December is that I stop making other things at 2:30 p.m., and go relax with whatever I want to watch on the TV and some crochet to keep my hands occupied.

No taping, no editing, no writing, no exercising, no cleaning, no creative frenzies, no nothing until Corey gets home at 5 p.m. Just chilling. It's helping in some unexpected ways for my mental health.

This morning, I've got the last of the wood fires going in the living room fireplace, which has proved to do a lot to keep the gas bill reasonable... and I've got the self clean setting going on the oven in the kitchen, which is helping warm the rest of the living area. Corey cooks bacon in the oven a lot, and while it might be good for the bacon, the oven just gets grubby with the airborne grease.

It won't be good for the gas bill, unfortunately, because it's a gas oven, and it won't be done until nearly noon. Still better than me sticking my head in there with oven cleaner, though!

Just got off the phone with Cor for his good morning phone call - well worth sleeping in to get those! It's possible that the man is trying to train me to sleep in. 👀😍😜 He has a tendency to sneak vegetables into the food he cooks for both of us, too.

Doesn't help, just means whoever cleans up is scraping peas in the bin. They all still taste like green, bitter dirt to me. He's made some really good vegetable-based gravies without telling me what they were before I ate them, though. 😂🥰 He tells me cooking for me is like making dinner for a toddler. I don't think he means it as a compliment! 😹🤷🏻‍♀️👀

Anyway - frigidly cold outside, and no real plans to leave the house today. Might go in tomorrow if there's anything I want, as the snow is coming back Thursday night. Wednesday is a good day to go into town, as the thrift store has 30% off for veterans and Aldi's wall of shame new items go up. Seldom anything I want, just fun to look at!😹

Looking back at all this, my stars, I am completely in squirrel mode this morning! I'll go get squirrely on the things I want to do this morning... :)

    Love y'all!

I eat between 11:30 am and 8:30 pm. 9 hours of eating, 15 hours of not eating. That's how I have eaten most of my life except when I have studied late into the night. On those occasions I will keep nibbling till I go to bed. But that doesn't happen often now.

That is a good schedule.👍🏼 My sister was on a program which stressed eating multiple times a day. Either eating a bar, or a soup, or a bit of something every few hours. It did not work for her. It was fairly expensive too! But for some like our Barbie it works well.👍🏼

:)Rebecca, When I read this thread I notice lots of eating plans along with your intermittent fasting and there are so many ways we choose to eat. I learned a long time ago that the best eating plan is the one you'll follow. People with eating disorders who belong to Overeaters Anonymous often follow a plan of calling someone each morning to tell them what they plan to eat for the day and how they did the day before. Some if us eat simple foods, some eat unusual and interesting ones. I eat the same foods in rotation and am happy with the simplicity. Other people crave variety. That is one of the great things about this thread. We don't pass judgement of how other people eat. I cannot do intermittent fasting because my body needs to eat small meals every few hours. It works for me.

:)Heather, Jake was told by his cardiologist in August that he couldn't drive for six months because of the possibility of the recurrence of the event that had put him in the hospital. He was heartbroken and wanted so much to be able to drive. He had me to drive him to the places he wanted to go, but it wasn't the same as being able to drive on his own.

And that friend is why I am a lifelong member of this group. I truly feel cared about, with every weird thing I do in life whether its food related or not. Sad that the world does not take our blueprint in how we conduct ourselves, and treat others in here. Its respectful, nurturing, and we honor each other.💖

Ah, Rebecca, you do inspire me... To the point that I got up on the elliptical for ten minutes. Thank you. I am tired of feeling my flesh sliding down my body, and the only thing that will change that is me. The key, of course, isn't doing it today, but making it a habit. I have to start somewhere, though.

Finished my fifth on-body Skyrizi injection. They mail them to me, and honestly they look just like the old instant throw-away cameras you could buy and turn in to get photos developed. Let a little vial of liquid get to room temperature, shove it in the side of the thing, then stick it to your body. Push a button, it takes like five minutes for it to inject, with a loud buzzy noise the whole time. Blue light says it's ready. Green says it's working. Beep says it's done.

Fingers crossed it will move me closer to normal. I'm not far away now. Still won't travel, but if this one works like the rest have to diminish the symptoms, I won't have many more excuses.

Well, except the fact that I don't want to, and you can't make me. 😜😝

I've traveled and lived all over this octant of the world (from the US to UK and back, with quick trips to Germany). Won't tempt fate by saying "never," but sitting still looks awfully good to me these days.

Keeping the fire going (still hasn't gotten higher than freezing outside) and constructing a bag. Egg keeps going out to check and see if it's gotten warmer.

    It has not.

Heather - The kids all look like they're having fun... sorry about John's car...

Kylia - Good wishes for the kittens' surgeries, hope they go easily and painlessly.

Allie - Happy birthday to Dan, it looks like y'all had a great time. Miss Delia looks like she's a smiler, too, and Happy Birthday to Miles!

    Later, my dears,
    Love,
    Lisa

Congrats on the elliptical use! The most important thing is doing you girlfriend! I'm only on day 2 of this gym thing. Today I literally had no energy in the tank! After my leftover potato skins, my two tacos, a small container of grapefruit, AND a bagel with cheese and tomato slices I think I am finally happy for the day. Keeping my eating window open for another hour and a half so I can get in another cup of coffee with sweetener. It will be my third cup of coffee but only my second cup with sweetener. Tonight I should sleep better.💖
I have become quite the homebody too. Kind of like I have done all my socializing and I covet my solitude that much more. 😁

I had to be at the surgery center this morning at 6:30 a.m. i was back home before 10. I am in bed with my knee resting on a pillow. I am not in pain other than a slight headache, probably from no caffeine. I’ve made two successful trips to the bathroom, which was my biggest worry. Dave just made me a sandwich which I ate, then took a pain pill to stay ahead of the pain.

    Overall, I’m feeling pretty good.

Oh happy everything went well! Be easy on yourself, and order "nicely" husband around.😁👍🏼

Mo, ah you sound like you have been busy busy! I admire your positive outlook on things.💖. Oh my hand is peachy, no black and blue mark left. I think it helped to rub the bruise/knot and break it up.
I'm sorry your orthotic is giving you hip pain. Big hugs!

    Hello Wonderful friends,
I just finished catching up on your lives. You all have been tremendously busy. I decluttered the top of my dresser and my bathroom window. All the Christmas decor is pretty much put away. My mom's tree is still up. I got a call from the nursing home, and they want me to take my mom to the dentist. I called and explained that she gave the dentist a hard time and that they thought it was better to treat her for pain and let her be. They are continuing to call. I asked DH to explain that she didn't care for her teeth and refused to brush them. Even when I was little, I told her not to kiss me cause she had bad breath. When the dentist said to leave her be, I removed her dental insurance. I will see how much it will cost to take her to UMMC School of Dentistry. It is hard cause my mom doesn't want a bath, let alone a teeth cleaning. I know my dentist will work with her. Paying 4800 a month doesn't leave a lot of money left.
DS needs a new computer for school, so I will see if he can get a line of credit. DH told me he noticed I made many changes to the house now that he is gone. I told him that it is nice to make everything look nice, but I also told him that I had no input on what the condo in Chicago looks like. I had a lovely weekend at work. I had some great kids. I had a two-year-old who told me I was mean after I flushed her line. Then I had her giggling. I tried to teach this mom that she could not make her child wait for hours to eat—breastfed babies nurse as needed. Then we noticed his weight was in the 0.5 percentile, so we told her she needed to breastfeed more or go to formula. I think she was listening to some goofball on TikTok. It is nice having DS here. I chuckle, listening to Rose barking at him to do what she wants. I warned him that Rose could be bossy. Then he argues back at her, and then he gives in. I aim to read more books, travel, get my certification, get my passport, work on my Spanish, and lose at least 35 pounds, but 75 would be better. I want to get back to exercising. Do something each week that makes me happy.

    Welcome, Bridget and KJ!

Flea, I love your money tree!

Kylia, I got your message, and I sent you one.

Debbie, you are handling the situation well. Let your DH handle it all, and you do your own thing. I wondered why your MIL's dog can't move in with you. The cats may get ticked off about it. I avoid matters that deal with my MIL and let the 3-4 kids decide.

Heather, I wish my kids had a relationship with my kids like you do with your grandkids. My kids would cry when they had to visit.

Lisa, it is cold here in Mississippi, and I know it is colder in Arkansas. Are there any updates on how your daughter is doing? Are they back in Hawaii yet?

Barbie, I went back to read about the change in cars and genuinely believe he was looking out for you.

Pip, How are you doing with all of your fur babies?

Dr. Katie, I hope you will heal fast.

Rita, Lanette, and Carol, I hope you are well.

Rebecca, how is your hand? Is the bruising gone?

Allie, you had a lovely celebratory party at the restaurant and for Miles's birthday. How are Kyle and Tracey doing? Are they working it out?

Michelle, do you work out with friends or alone?

Margaret, that was a beautiful painting. I love the flowers you bring to post.

Rori, where are you going to travel to this year?

Tracey, Roger would be more receptive if you talked to him in a loving voice. My DH is not handy at all, and it is up to me to make repairs. My aunt taught me. My dad relied on me to fix things in the house. If I couldn't do it, we called someone in. When my mom left us when I was 9, I had to do laundry, write checks out to pay the bills and make calls to get a repair guy in. I had to study how checks were written in the past, and my dad would mail out the bills. That is why when my DH moved to Chicago, I was okay. My Dh hires a guy to mow the lawn and rake leaves. My dad always had done the same. It is interesting how we had different experiences.

Machka, I am inspired to visit Australia and New Zealand. When it warms up in Mississippi, I will buy my bike.
Barbara, I am so glad they rescheduled your appointment for safer weather.

Welcome back, Carla! I look forward to getting to know you.

My orthotic is bothering me and causing a lot of pain in my hip, so I am not wearing it. Hopefully, I can come in and order one for the other foot. My headaches have been waking me up, so I put on an ice pack and went back to sleep. Aging is not easy.

You all stay safe and warm.

    XO,
    Mo from Mississippi

We are doing great with the kids. They are dream kids, they don’t react to other dogs coming towards them. They walk really good on leash. They get along with each other.

I just clarified with someone on what I can or can not eat before my colonoscopy. It’s in 3 days so I will be living on chicken or beef broth, boiled eggs and tea. Anxious to see how much more weight I lose, lololol

Oh Pip do you have Bag Balm? That is a life saver for me during the "elimination phase" as a barrier ointment on your backside. It comes in a pretty green tin with a cow on the front at most pharmacies. Its called bag balm because farmers used it on cows udders to stop them from getting chapped. Worked so well we just took the tin in the house over the years.😁👍🏼
Hope the procedure is smooth and uneventful.👍🏼
