Tracy, aack! I accepted your friends request then I saw you had posted not to accept because you had been hacked. So you were deleted and blocked. I will wait abit before accepting any requests in the future.

I have six+ pen pals and family/friends to answer. Some were letters in their Christmas cards. I need to create my stationery which is just lined paper with washi tape and stickers. I usually use 3 pages per letter, and for some crazy reason I never write on the other side.

Well I had written a rather long post and thought I posted it and it is gone. That hasn't happened to me for a while. Will try to recompose tomorrow when I am more awake!

    Take care all,

I have a irl address for you but think it is old and for some reason we are not friends here. I sent a friend request prior to christmas and don't think you got it.

    Can we re-connect?

that is funny and reminds me - when I first bought this house 30+ years ago I would get calls from all sorts of folks wanting to sell the new homeowner something, or other questions etc.... and they would always ask for Mr. (my last name) and I would say he is not in may I help you... "no I need to speak to the homeowner" was often the response, so finally I looked up the phone number of the cemetery that my dad was in (Mr. (my last name)) and would tell the person calling that he is not here but this is the best number I have for him.... Noone ever called back.

    Morning all
Im here with Delia who is down for a nap.she cat naps..
Kyle cranky with Tracy because she will work until March and then stay home with the kids..to pay for daycare working full time she would have to pay her whole paycheck just for daycare.so its not worth it..but he is mad that they can't fix the cellar or go on vacation..sheesh..he has to get over things.

I thought Kyle was out of the picture ... he'd moved out and got an apartment???

Is he planning to do that soon?

All these snow pictures seem funny coming from the perspective that it hit 30C (86F) today!

Tried reading along but seems I am Tired! I sit in recliner, kittens curl up with me, and out I go!

Lanette- Yes, the hunt was successful. More meat in freezer. I rarely eat beef. I never buy ground beef as I can't stand the smell of it cooking. If we want burgers we go out. I very occasionally will buy a couple of filets. Our red meat is almost exclusively venison at home. I have experimented with spices to mimic Italian sausage especially for lasagna. Has turned out well.

Mo Great advice for Dinks, Carol, and Vicki. I so love the ability to share and support this group of ladies has!

I had Cali curled on my knees but she moved before I could get picture. Tori however is watching over me.

Kim I had the same issue with our electric and phones. They were in my FIL's name. I switched them to mine. DH got pissy. I explained that we would have had to pay a deposit if we put in his name as he had never had utilities in his name. Since I pay the bills it is easier anyway!

More to say but want to post this before heading to work!

    Welcomes!
Stay safe be it snow, ice, or fires! You are all precious to us!
Make the best choices you can in the moment!

Much love and hugs held tight!

Kylia in a very white and cold Ohio with 12" of snow on ground! Brrr! But beautiful!

Rebecca Since I was hacked over a year ago. I always check the profile page of someone who has asked me to friend them. I blocked the person who did the hack. Unfortunately a few here who alerted me to the hack also blocked that person before I did so when they post I have to go to comment section to like what they post if I just hit like my account gets restricted. Despite the issues I still like Facebook because it helps me keep up with friends and family. I am also much more careful in what I like that I know is in the public domain if a friend posts them and I like it I post a like in the comment section. I try to steer away from AI stuff and anyone of the post that asks questions like what is your pets name. Unfortunately there are trolls who gather info on you and can use info to answer security questions on financial accounts you may have.

Reading a book on the vagus nerve and the effect it had on your health and well being... Healing Through the Vagus Nerve. Unfortunately much of our modern life contributes to a low vagus nerve...diet, sleep, stress, trauma, breathing improperly (mouth breathing), poor posture. She goes through ideas to help proactively and when you are reactive. Again it is like getting yourself physically fit if you believe you have low vagus nerve you can do things to make yourself stronger. For me it has been my diet and working on breathing through my nose...Simple things that help are humming , singing, gargling, massage, eye exercises, walking or other exercise. I like how she talked about building a foundation first before getting into more hard core ideas like talk therapy. Learning the skills to self soothe is important to one's mental health.

I found improving my diet and working on mouth breathing has improved my vagus nerve health.

My goal now is to incorporate some of the eye exercises and have my tool bag ready for the times I do get upset.

Eye exercises to help with overuse of computer and close up work

    1. Stop and focus on something in the distance for at least 30 seconds
    2. focus on something close like a finger in the air six inches from your eyes then focus on something in the distance while leaving finger in place.
    3. Stop and try to focus on something in your peripheral vision for 30 seconds
    4. With head still look to your right for 30 seconds then left for 30 seconds.

1,3,4 can be done while waiting on the phone or in line at the store

The point of the exercise is counteract all the tunnel vision of day to day life with the use of computers and cell phones.

Hello ... I've been reading along. Not much to add, it's just been cold with what I call "nuisance" snow ... a little bit every morning. Today the temperatures are a little bit warmer (upper 20sF) and the sun is shining.

Lisa ... thought of you and the others who are good at sewing. My husband builds bamboo fly rods and has just finished one that he is donating to a charity. To keep the pieces separate (rods come in 2 or 3 pieces for transporting), he asked me to sew a rod sock. This ... in theory ... is a simple process. A long rectangular case with 3 sections. It took me 5 hours to make with several of those hours devoted to ripping out all of my seems. I over-thought the process and ended up making it too thick in parts. I am no sewer and this project just highlighted why!

The teacher I am working with is studying China..

I found a wonderful Children's book in my collection I am going to give it to the teacher to whom I am volunteering in her room it is called the Emperor's Garden...

A humble village plan a splendid garden and invite the emperor to see it They work together well until they have to name it. Everyone bickers because they want to name it for their contribution. Then a bad storm hits and ruins their garden. The emperor comes and wants to see the garden. The peasants do not want him to see it. He insists. When he comes to the hill on rotting melons (worker wanted to call it Garden of Best Harvest) he says what a pleasant looking hill. When he sat on the bench (worker who built pavilion wanted to call it Garden for Noble Thoughts while the brick layer who created the path to the pavilion wanted to call it Garden of Guided Steps, and the carpenter who built the gate wanted the Garden Through the Carved Gate) the emperor said it was a fine place for thinking. He looked out over the pond (the ditch diggers wanted it called Round Pond Garden and the children who place 500 smooth stones wanted it called Five-Hundred Stone Garden) he told them when I am done thinking I can see fish swimming over the colorful sparkling pond. He noticed the peach tree, ( the person who planted the tree wanted it called the Garden of Long Life because that is what peaches symbolized in China) he said it reminds me of what a long and fruitful life I have had. The peasant presents him with the best peach. While eating his peach he spoke and told them he was upset there was no name for the garden. The villagers asked him to name the garden He named it the Garden of Supreme Harmony...When he left the villagers worked together to clean up their garden. Each year the emperor with his children would stop to see the garden. It was not the biggest, fanciest, or perfect garden but it was a most harmonious garden.

Tracey - Happy 60th birthday to Rodger! Hope you're able to get him out without him twigging that there's a surprise party going for him. I always live through those vicariously - never had one thrown for me, never gave one for someone else. Hope it's fun, I think you could use a bit of that.

Allie - I'm with Machka - I thought Kyle had departed the family home and the relationship.

Pip - Sorry the scope didn't work. My first one some years back was the same, and yes, I have to start a day earlier than most people now, but doing that makes it so they can see, so well worth it. Or at least, that's what I tell myself.

And speaking of which... had my phone appointment with the hematology folks yesterday, and they were VERY pleased with my iron levels and all my red blood counts, etc. They're having me cut my iron and Vitamin C prescriptions that I take in half, will test once more in three months, and if I hold at these levels, they'll put me out to six-month testing. Took three years since that first iron infusion to get test results up where they want 'em. Got there, though. Happy with that.

Just STUPID cold outside, at 14F(-8C), and under a "freezing fog" warning until 9 a.m. We will be staying home, rather than swanning off to get stuff at Home Depot this morning as we had planned. It will wait. Might venture out tomorrow to get Corey some fresh fruit, etc., for work, supposed to be sunny and in the 40s (6C).

That's it for me... Got a call from my best friend last night, she's just struggling with different messages from the healthcare folks from one day to the next. Her dad had a UTI! Am thinking that needs to be the FIRST test, not something they test for a week later. She's talking to the VA, but won't get anything back 'til Monday.

Onward and upward, kids, supposed to call my sis at 7 a.m. That should be fun. First Zoom call, it will be nice to see her face.

    Later, y'all,
    Love,
    Lisa in AR

That is exactly why, they can’t see in there. Kirby did some research and found there are pills the doctor can prescribe instead of drinking that stuff. He says we’ll pay for it if it’s not covered by insurance. He read having it cold and with a straw also helps. I am stuck with lemon flavoring because it can’t be red or purple. This time I will not have tea as my water, I will just drink plain water. Getting ready to go camping. Kirby made me breakfast… it’s nice to eat again. :0)

I feel like I’m coughing my lungs out! Nose sore, sinuses sore, ears sore, eyes phlemy, and nothing helps! If not better by Monday, I will go to doctor.

If any of you have a PO Box and have had items delivered to the Post Office by UPS, that will no longer happen. It was called SurePost and the PO did not renew their contract with UPS so all packages delivered to the post office by UPS will be returned to sender. I have been having issues with some orders I had going to 415 N Pennsylvania Ave #8265 being canceled and returned to Amazon. After a couple phone calls, I found out I cannot have them delivered there anymore. They need to be delivered directly to my camper in the park. In the meantime, I have several packages being returned and canceled, including a monthly order from Amazon with vitamins and dog food in it. The least they could have done was tell us!! https://www.supplychaindive.com/news/ups-surepost-usps-contract-changes/736905/ https://www.saleswarp.com/the-end-of-ups-surepost-what-does-this-mean-for-retailers/ And on Facebook on the UPS/Teamsters page.

Our snow is already gone. The temp got up to 45 yesterday and is on its way up again today. It was pretty for a day then gone. I like this kind of snow!

    Thought for today:

I was going to tell a joke about water, but it was too tasteless\

Tracey, thanks, I’ve accepted your request.

Running out the door shortly to my volunteer “job”, haven’t been there since Nov! They cut things way back in Dec.
Hope everyone makes today count for something!

Small things make for a good day. :D

I managed to liberate my tax book and info from the filing cabinet, and I've entered all the info in my double entry ancient book. My first entry was in 1990! :p Tomorrow I will put it all on the online form. (Did I tell you I hate doing tax)

I emptied a vase of old flowers and washed it up. I reached into the bowels of a kitchen cupboard and found two glass containers. Emptied and washed up those and put them away. One held wholemeal bread flour from the beginning of the pandemic! :o Then I decided to rescue a leaking bag of lentils, and succeeded in spilling a whole load everywhere. Finally, I got the glass jar out again and got the lentils in there, but not without spreading a few more around the kitchen! :#

Lunch was left over oxtail stew with a tin of borlotti beans. Seeded rye bread. Heaven!

John went out this afternoon, and, without my asking him, came back with daffodils!! And some much needed onions. I hope the daffodils will come out, as they are quite tight. I just love the first daffodils in January! :p<3

Done lots of Duolingo. I'm too mean to pay for it, but I've currently got a reward of 3 free days Super Duolingo, so I'm making the most of it.

Soooooo........ tomorrow I will finish my tax. :#

Dinner is butternut squash ravioli, with sage and garlic butter. Za'atar, peas, and asparagus on the side. Stewed apples and berries for dessert, made by John. Homemade yoghurt.

    Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx
