    Morning, my dearlings,

    The roads are clear here, and the snow is fading, looking tattered at the edges on the grassy areas that are undisturbed. No more expected in the foreseeable future, and everything is getting back to normal.

    We're back to normal at my house as well, with Corey off to work again this morning. I've got a load of laundry going in the washer, and another in the dryer, so my soundscape is domestically blissful. The phone will ring soon for my "good morning" call from Corey, since I slept in this morning. This quick visit with y'all, and I will resume my usual Monday morning chores, get meds set up for the week and so on.

    We did not get a bathroom vanity this weekend. Corey relaxed instead after we went grocery shopping Sunday morning, and that made us both happy. We splurged on a nice chuck roast at Aldi, so dinner was that and roasted veg (I did eat a bit of carrot, I swear) and potatoes. I've been uninterested in eating meat at all during the days, so it was kind of a nice change for me.

    So, perhaps next weekend on the vanity. We'll see. Not worried - the toilet works, so it's functioning, and the rest can wait. If I can't handle looking at it, I just don't go back there.

    My maintenance weight is 155 to 159, and I was at 156.8 this morning, so I'm happy on that note. And yesterday was six days in a row of exercise for me! As Annie would say, yay! (We miss you, girlie.) I'm sticking at between 10 and 15 minutes a day, swapping out elliptical one day and yoga the next. So far, no vertigo and no major pain. Just trying to get moving every day, and I can feel the difference already. Less pain, less stiffness in the mornings.

    Lisa- I laughed at your carrot comment. 🤣 Too funny. Protein is important, so I’m glad you enjoyed your roast. Congrats on your maintenance weight. That in itself is such a victory. I can’t say enough about consistency in exercise. Any deposit contributes to the account. Listening to your body and staying consistent will pay off for you.

    I’m still trying to get moving today. I have C-PTSD, so unfortunately I only logged 3.5 hours sleep last night. I’ve been up since 2am. Tried a nap, but it failed me. So meditation and breath work will lead me through my day today. Still going to get my workout in. It’s deadlift day! My favorite! I’m looking forward to some mobility training today.

    In other news, decided to go on a sourdough bread making adventure. If y’all have any tips, I’m all ears.

    Stay warm my friends. It’s mighty chilly out.

    The glaziers came and got nearly all the glass out. There are a few immovable bits round the edge, but they were worried about breaking the outer pane. I had a good hoover around afterwards, but there are still tiny chips in unexpected places! They took away a bag of glass for us, from the original clear up. I'm not worried about the bill, because Velux are paying it. :)

    Frittata tonight. I've precooked the cauliflower, and we also add peas, broad beans, and artichoke. Feta. I love the left overs for lunch the next day.

    Bea pick up tomorrow.

    I forgot to mention that when I went to my therapist last week, realized she offers the GLP1 shots for $30 a shot (reasonable I thought) so asked her about it. I cannot get them because I have thyroid problems. The type she gives is contradicted for thyroid problems, so out of luck there.

    Heading to doctor today. I’ll update y’all later.

    Sore throats are a pain in the neck!! (Appropriate for me! 🤪

    MFP Weekly Check-In for January 13, 2025

    Rita in Roswell NM - Down 2.5 pounds using this plan in a week. I have not done the activity however, because I’m still battling this cold, but still, for a week? I am proud of the result!
    Week of 1/11/25:
    1. Use My Plate by measuring and logging food in MFP 1/7
    1. Eat fruit not sweets for snacks 1/7
    2. Drink and log 64-80 oz. Of water a day 1/7
    3. Add 1 Oz nuts daily 1/7
    Goal for next 5 weeks: lose 12.4 from 182.8 to 170 pounds. By logging and measuring my food intake and being active for 30 minutes a day logging that as well in MFP. Down 2.5 lbs this week.

    Debbie in Napa Valley CA - up .4 lbs again this week. I got between 10,000-16,000 steps 6 of the 7 days, tracked my food and stayed just under calories each day. Will be out walking the wetlands again this week. Two more weeks until Zumba starts back up. We are walking for that hour but not the same(but nice to get to chat with my friends while walking)

    Kylia in Ohio - No change in weight. I will take that over gain! I have logged every day, so that is a plus. I have fruits and veggies back in house which should help. Stay warm!

    Barbara on the Southern Oregon Coast - WT Sunday down below 130 to 129.9 from last week's 132.7 Yay!. Weekly average eked down to 131.8 from 132.2.
    Weekly average steps UP to 6414 from 5846. Line danced thrice, BB&B twice, dog group once.
    CI continues to outpace CO. Sugar leveling off but way over goal.
    AF, PT & Zumba still a bust.
    Occasional exercise snacks of hip hinges or hanging from the shower rod when getting up from the toilet, or block pushups after washing dishes.
    Beautiful, blue sky, dry days but burr that breeze is cccold! 51 feels like 41 ;)

    Sue in WA - Finally getting back into more of a routine. I gained 2 pounds this week and then lost 1. The funny thing is I noticed my pants are fitting slightly better. Hope that means the regular exercise is helping me trade fat tissue for muscle.

    Lanette SW WA – weight staying at 160, new set point. Step daily average 6326, down a bit from last week. Still walking with weights 15-20 minutes after most meals. Some Farmer's carry and sitting elliptical.

    Blood test and BP today. I always get nervous about the BP. I hope it's OK as I don't want to have to increase the med. I'm on a low dose at the moment, but she was talking about putting it up. A UTI always seems to be waiting in the wings, but it's OK at the moment. I drink lots of fluids.

    The rv park is very clean. Right by the beach. Real close to town, since we still walk our 5-6 miles we have our different routes that we take. They have a restaurant and a grocery store on site. It’s not far from home(about 2-2-1/2 miles). They store it and haul it for a fee of course, that helps that the trailer doesn’t travel a lot of miles. The rv place that we bought it from is really close by. They have come over to our camping spot to look at something if we needed. A lot of pluses.

    Lisa – you’re so right, it’s the OP who are the problem. But on the bright side, there are very few people on the road at 6:30. I saw a total of 5 cars.

    Barbie – can’t wait to find out how the bitter apple works out. I like faucets with separate hot and cold handles

    Unfortunately, the sun doesn’t get to the area right behind my garage door. Guess I’m just going to have to be religious about this snow.

    Heidi – as I’ve said “I didn’t move to NC to see my breath. I really don’t care what it looks like”. Hasn’t it been cold? I think last night was about the coldest

    Carol – I just found out that the schools around here are closed tomorrow

    Lanette and Sue – so many times Vince will take my car in for repairs because of the fact, as you said, they see a woman and dollar signs pop up. Supposed to be nice weather next weekend.

    Tracey – some people just can’t deal with exceptions. I thought I read somewhere that senior’s get a lot of UTI’s because they don’t completely empty their bladders. Now my sewing is limited to things in straight lines. Like sewing up a ripped seam. That’s IT. A while ago I was going to put an elastic on something and I had to reread how to do it!

    My voice is back to normal now. There was a time when I’d be coughing so much that I was almost choking. I’m still coughing some, but not at all like that. Guess it’s just going to take time

    Ginny – good for you standing up regarding not being mandated to take a vaccine. I honestly don’t believe anyone should mandate you take a vaccine. That’s wrong. I have a brain. How I miss SparkPeople’s recipes. What I liked was that you could look at the recipe and on the homepage it would list the calorie count.

    Pip – what’s the name of your new camper?

    :) Decided yesterday to gather the papers I needed to take to the attorney on Thursday and couldn't find the death certificates although I remembered putting them in a folder of some sort. After a giant panic that included looking everywhere three times, I realized that there was enough time to get new ones ($25.00 each) from the funeral home and then I looked in one more place and found them. The place sort of made sense and I was relieved that I hadn't lost them. What I really want to do is just walk, ride my exercise bike, knit, watch TV, and have no responsibilities.
