Went through the whole rigmarole of having a bath this morning. :p
Bear in mind I have two replaced hips and a dodgy knee. It's a big bath with tall sides.
I made it without injury. :p
John was bemused when I said what hard work a bath is. I do a lot of exfoliation, plus feet, shaving, etc. Then afterwards I cut my toenails, which is a contortion in itself. Then lotion.
    Phew!!!!!!

Barbie - glad your visit with the attorney went well and things are moving along. Unsettling to not be sure of the next step with this stuff. Very proud of Annie for being a good girl while you left her in the car. <3

Kylia - I remember reading that nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs. Good for you paring it down. Funny tho - one of my favorite memories of my DH is that faint tobacco smell he always had. Not the fresh stinking smoke smell, just a faint odor on his skin and clothing. He rolled his own. There's a stub in the ashtray of the Camry I just left in there for old time's sake.

Lisa - so sorry your world is spinning. :( Hope today is better.

Barbara - I have no hesitancy eating eggs either from my girls or from the store. From what I've read, there's only been one fatality and that fellow had underlying conditions and for most people that get it, the symptoms are mild. Seems like there were once strains that were far worse with high fatality but this one doesn't seem too bad right now.

Heather - you mentioned Mel Robbins "Let Them" a week or so ago. She kept popping up in my FB feed so I've taken the time to watch some of her little videos. This morning she had one where a young lady was unable to go to her mom's for Christmas and her mom laid a guilt trip on her. It made me think about how these types of people use guilt as a means of control. In my life, I sometimes find it hard to break that chain and just "let them" be mad or disappointed that I don't give in - luckily I'm rarely put in that position anymore. "Let them" goes hand in hand with saying "No" without guilt. I have the "Let Them" book on order from the library - there's a big waiting list.

Ginny - what a sweet happy granddaughter. <3 Thanks to all of you who let us have a glimpse of those special little ones in your lives.

Allie - seeing Delia and SMiles always makes my day too. <3

By the way, the uninstall of McAfee from this old laptop and simply turning on MS Defender anti-virus went off without a hitch. I expected to get a lot of reminder pop-ups from McAfee but haven't seen one. Maybe W11 and/or Defender screens them out.

Making Italian Beef in the crockpot - Safeway had nice chuck roasts on sale so I grabbed one. I simply dump half a jar of Marinara sauce over it and let it cook all day. Craving beef these days.

Ginny ~ Your granddaughter looks so HAPPY! Love the smile!

Allie ~ Delia snuggled under the blanket looks so sweet and Miles practicing his letters is great! He must be in a really good day care.

Lanette ~ I'm glad you have the memory of your husband's smoking smell to remember. Interesting to know that the bird flu mostly seems to not be as dangerous as the news has reported.

My DH had a cardiologist visit this morning and then a visit to the bank concerning his BnL's estate. The day before his heart attack, he finally got the paper work he needed to start the process of settling the estate. It took 9 mos to go through probate court and now he is able to pay BnL's outstanding bills. Was told he could not disperse inheritance to the heirs until 3 more months had passed.

Machka - I hope you get to meet your new granddaughter soon.

Rita - glad your feeling better.

Lisa - I really don’t like Zoom for chats. I like old fashioned phone calls. I just say though that my one friend that likes to FaceTime I feel comfortable with.

Heather - I want to grow old if I am healthy and have my faculties about me, otherwise I would prefer to go earlier.

Rebecca - we have lived here for 8 years and I’m finally starting to feel like a community mostly because of ceramics and working local. I really enjoy being out and about, much more than being home.
I love High Potential, new Matlock comes at the end of January.
I really enjoyed Brilliant Minds but I don’t know if there will be a second season. I really hope so.

Barbie - it sounds like the meeting with the lawyer took some weight off your shoulders. Hugs to you.

We had a terrible storm blow in this afternoon, apparently there are several accidents keeping emergency services quite busy.
The lady that owns the ceramic shop went home early and I closed up for her. There were only two others that lived outside of town and they were travelling together. I’m waiting to hear that they made it home safe. We closed up 1/2 an hour early.

    Funny day at work:
One of the residents needed some assistance with her pants. When I went to see what she needed she told me my hair was scruffy and I needed “metal things” with a scissor motion. I was leaning down talking to her and she even grabbed my bangs to make the motion. I agreed I needed a haircut, but today my hair was actually all back in a bun. I didn’t understand exactly what she wanted, but it was something to do for her pant legs. I pulled the legs down to cover her ankles and that wasn’t it, I pulled them up and that was wrong. She told me it had to tuck into the white. So I tucked it into her sock. She then said, “No. You doorknob” I actually burst out laughing. I told her I would get a nurse for her.
Being called a doorknob is what my Dad and my MIL would say if you were being silly or messing around. So I thought it was quite funny and I remind myself how difficult it must be not to be able to fix your own pants.

I’m off to bed. I’m looking forward to a weekend at home this weekend.
    Tracey in Edmonton

The second season of High Potential just started. I have my tv taping it weekly.
The doorknob story is frustrating/funny/precious. 🤗

Machka-congratulations on newest addition! Babies are wonderful.

Barbie-good job moving through the attorney stuff. I remember wondering if I would ever make it through the "to do" list, and one was at a time it was done. That is great news about Annie adapting-she will be a great comfort.

Allie-hard to believe Miles is working on letters!

Michele-Gloria Vanderbilt jeans come in brown, I'm picking up a pair I ordered this afternoon.

Tracey-I am curious as to what she wanted done with her pants?

Worked food pantry last night. Cold was not too bad. Provided food for 225 people. I thoroughly enjoy this service.

Work from home today. Have 8 am computer meeting, then going to a Martin Luther King, Jr.luncheon. May take a bit of time off this afternoon to get laundry and some house pick up done. Watching granddaughter tomorrow and spending the night (parents going to concert with her brother and wife). Don't know if we will do church or not. Will do slight detour on way home Sunday to stop at Costco.

    My happy granddaughter:

    Off to morning workout.

    Take care all,

Just one happy granddaughter there. So sweet!
I commend you working the food pantry. Its not an easy undertaking!

Finally back and caught up with reading.

Didn’t take notes, but I did hit a few buttons on the way through.

I have stepped up my workouts since 1st Jan, especially flexibility. I’m doing a 20 day chair yoga plan this month. Not every day, but about 3 times a week. I was amazed today that it has made such a difference. I was able to get my socks on much more easily, and getting into the car was much easier, too. Perhaps all is not as lost as I thought!

Mo: The fall was more of a slide to the ground, as I fell towards the bed, but wasn’t able to pull myself up. It was more frustrating than damaging, and it made me realise that I needed to be more targeted in my exercise choices, hence the yoga. I was never in any danger, as DH was in the garden and would have come looking for me when he came in for lunch if I hadn’t figured out in the meantime that I could shuffle to the top of the stairs on my bottom, and get up.

Watching Monty Don visit gardens in our local area. Enjoy whatever remains of your day/evening/morning.

Amanda ~ We were stationed in Ft Knox KY in 1969 for 2 or 3 yrs. I grew up in the country in middle Georgia but never had the farm experience. When I was little, my dad was a dairy farmer until the cost of feed got too expensive.

Our Kylia has a farm house in Kentucky that she visits on the weekends.

Amanda in KY - Welcome! Glad you're here!

Thank you to everyone who mentioned High Potential. Am streaming it on Hulu, and really enjoying it. Engaging characters, and they don't telegraph the endings, so far. Good writing.

Yes, Lanette, being able to tolerate other people's disapproval without caving in, is a skill we all need to learn. I am much better at it than I used to be, but I still have the odd moment! I think the more we follow our own path of integrity, the less other people try to 'interfere'. People usually take you at your own valuation of yourself.

Well, I Made it! I am not in jail, nobody is curled in a corner crying (not even me). I call that a good day of not caring for other people's monkeys! Invoices all totalled and called. DH left me alone for the most part. Got splinter out this morning, lower back not quite as twingy tonight. Within calories even if a little shy of protein goals. I made Breakfast for Dinner Naan. Was actually easy and quite good. DH had two pieces. Naan bread, kiebasa, broccolini, mozzerella cheese, and eggs. Yummy. I have a lovely lemon blueberry coffee cake baking in oven as I type. If I were to think about this , I am in productive side of my circle (or manic). I emptied dishwasher, made bed, picked up and organized a room for 20 mins, stayed focused at work, cooked a meal and a yummy, and cleaned the kitchen. Not as many steps, but feeling pretty darn good about today. 😁

Lisa Thank you! As you know I have talked about this for awhile. All I know is the other night at vape shop, I blurted out 0mg, so figured I had jumped off the diving board. Was originally going to do like you did, but didn't do that other than first fill which still had some 3 in it. Not sure how long nicotine stays in body, web MD says 1-3 days, so if I keep this up at 0mg, that is my baby's top. I did do all the cooking tonight h t without wanting to hit on vape. Thank you for your support and experience. <3

Lanette I love a good pipe tobacco especially cherry. It is about the only pleasant memory of my father. I smoked occasionally in my mid 20,s(menthol), smoked more when I started working in restaurants at 28, switched to Marlboro as that is what DH smoked. Quit smoking and quit waitressing at about the same time 1998/1999. I gained 50 lbs! Needless to say I picked back up cigarettes. Red started hurting, hated the smell of lights, finally quit for 3-4 years. Then my mother and wine happened. My sister, who is a social smoker, says try one of these, clove cigarette. Not addictive my behind. About a year later I started vaping. Is it good for me, most likely not, but I am not hacking or stinking. Still don't like the idea of needing something that badly. I can even go without coffee, but panic when can't find vape. So now working on the nicotine, then the habit. Loving the support.

Hot tub helped sooth the tweak. Time to get out and prepare for bed. Will let you know how coffee cake is tomorrow.

Healing thoughts for each if you and your families.
((Hugs)) because they just feel good!

Amanda Welcome! I live in southwest Ohio, but we do have a farm in Northern KY. We lease the land to cattle guys, but I love visiting the farm house.

Thank you to all that welcomed me!

I wondered if anyone here is or has been on Mounjaro? I was trying to find some activity in the Diabetic/GLP1 groups but not really any activity since August.

It was so nice to see some sun the last few days! I have worked night shift for the last 20 years (tho now I only work 3 12 hr shifts a week) but by the beginning of February I will be switching to 1shift (4am to 4pm, Fri-Sun). I am super excited to see if getting back to normal work hours during the day will help my health journey. Since Dec 19th, I have lost about 15lbs (almost 7kg) by cutting out soda, upping my protein and limiting sweets and carbs. Plus the addition of a starting dose of Mounjaro.

Looks like you all have some great conversations. I love it!

Ginny - I’m curious about what she wanted done too. I think though that her legs were dry and the feel of them was bothering her. That is what I told the nurse the problem was when I asked her to go help.
    What a sweetie you have!

Kylia - The lack of nicotine may be contributing to how easily and how much you get irritated, but that doesn’t negate the fact that you are being pushed to it to start with.

Lisa - sorry you’re suffering from vertigo. What an awful feeling.

Lanette - I may have to find that book.
My Dad always made me feel guilty and I try very hard not to do that to my girls. I know sometimes I fail, but I really try not to. It a terrible feeling.

Rebecca - I’m sorry you lost an earring. I hate losing jewelry it’s something you don’t forget.
I have a few pieces that I get upset when I think about.
I have theories on all of them.

Finally had corporate confirm the amount and the date the pay will be deposited for the staff member I’ve been battling on behalf of for over a month now. The difference between what they wanted to pay and what she was owed was more than 15K, not just a little amount.

Our residents must be more going stir crazy being stuck inside. One last weekend was caught with alcohol, another today was caught with a vape.
Never a boring day that’s for sure.

Another show I’m watching is Accused. It’s a law type show but it’s during the trial and from the viewpoint of the accused. The guest star appearances are fun to see and it’s just a well written show. Each one is able to be watched completely on its own so you don’t have to worry about missing a week.

I ran to the grocery store this evening after supper so I wouldn’t have to go out tomorrow. It is supposed to get cold for the next two days. I’m looking forward to a weekend in.

    Have a great evening.
