ZepBound for Weight Loss

I am type two diabetes and have been mounjaro since last October. I have lost 50 pounds and last measured my A1c went from 7.4 to 5.7. In the midst of this last year, I was also diagnosed with stage one breast cancer, underwent surgery and radiation. All is good as far as the cancer is concerned, I will say that being on the medication has helped my brain say no. In the past I would eat or over eat if I was having a bad day. My brain would tell me I deserve it. Never once during my radiation did I do that. Which is a win on its own for me.
I focus on proteins, fruits, and vegetables and water, and I’ve had minimal side effects. But the best side effect I have is saying I’m full, and stopping to eat, whether my plate is empty or not. This is the best gift that this particular medication has given me.
I feel that I am losing at a good rate, and creating better eating habits than I’ve ever had. Thanks to the addition of medication. It’s not for everybody. I understand that, but we need to understand the science., And be supportive of everyone during their journey. Because the journey is different for everyone.5 -
Been on Zepbound for 6 weeks now. Before getting the shot, I was operating on a consistent calorie defecit, tracking food and hitting the gym 4 to 5 days a week. I spent months on a plateau stuck on the same weight regardless of how well I was doing with my activity and calorie goals. I stayed the course because it was the right thing to do, and I was still feeling better even though the weight would just not go down at all. I am now down about 28 lbs total after my inital 10lb loss from getting my "lifestyle changes" locking into diet and working out.
The shot has killed food noise for me, and let me get the message that I've eaten enough so I can stop. I have friends who have had a ton of success on it. my only regret is that I didn't try it sooner.
I'm currently on 2.5 and doing well, I'm considering keeping this dose for a while before jumping up. I feel really good overall. No crazy side effects and the weight is going steadily in the right direction (zig zaggy but down eventually)4 -

Well said.
You are injection who knows what chemicals in your body instead of putting the work in and controlling your calories.
People who are prescribed GLP-1 inhibitors also put in the work and control their calories.
Time to take the blinders off. People are overweight because largely they eat more than they need to or have been eating the S.A.D full of garbage processed food! Don't worry though big Pharma is here to save the day and profit nicely from it.
I used to be someone who thought like you, until I realized that my weight is a result of medical issues that are beyond my control. I have an extremely high drive for food that is a chemical imbalance, PCOS, and hypothyroidism. There is nothing wrong with taking medication for weight loss like there is nothing wrong with taking medicine for depression or any other medical issue. It’s about time the medical industry looks at weight issues as a medical issue vs just putting the fork down. Studies are also showing the benefits of these medications, such as a drop in heart related issues.

My Doctor just started me on a micro dose of zepbound at 1.25 - she says she has seen micro dosing successful at avoiding the side effects.
It's only been 24 hours and I just am not really that hungry. I also went for an hour walk:)
The whole key will be consistency. We will see. Wish me luck and determination!0 -

What chemical imbalance did your Doctor say you have?0 -
Good morning Neanderthin.
My Natureopathic Doctor did not say I have a chemical imbalance.
I just realized my response to stress was to eat - and eat - and eat, literally starchy carbs all day. Pasta, bread, cheese, sugar, butter, and other fat laden foods.
Even apart from that, I was eating large portions of spicy foods like mexican and chinese, or anything else for that matter, even after i wasn't really hungry anymore.
Even with this being only day 2 on Zepbound microdose, I just am not that hungry. The "food noise" as it seems to be called, is greatly diminished.
I had an ISO100 Strawberry protien shake for breakfast - and instead of already eagerly planning a huge chinese food lunch in 3 hours - i am ALMOST not inclined to go.
It will be interesting to see how much i truly eat when that favorite chinese food meal is in front of me. My guess is maybe 1/4 of what I was eating 3 days ago.
I did notice I was burping A LOT yesterday.
And skipped eating my favorite fleur de sel seas salt caramels - because I simply didn't feel like I wanted dessert!0 -

Ok, thanks for the response and explanation. I am surprised though that your naturopathic doctor prescribed Zepbound when considering it's a medication.
Anyway, I hope your weight loss continues, but you do know what more than likely will happens after someone comes off these medications, right?0 -

My understanding is it varies from state to state, country to country. She's also saying it's a micro dose, micro dosing generally means well below pharmaceutical levels. For example, I can't go out an buy ketamine on my own, but I CAN purchase "microdose" ketamine.
"Microdosing is when a lower dosage of any medicine or compound is administered, without the full pharmacological effect applied, often producing imperceptible-to-mild effects or benefits."
As of 2019, the most recent international guideline for a microdose of any medicine or compound is “a dose of drug that is 1% of the pharmacologically active dose, up to a maximum of 100 [micrograms].”0 -
It strikes me so funny that you can lose weight by not eating enough. The body is strange that way. But I'm eating more on a daily basis and I'm losing weight. For me the trick is recognizing the good foods that you need to eat and staying away from the "bad" carbs.0

Eating processed foods is one of the worst things you can do if you want to lose weight. I've read a lot of books about losing weight (more than 20 or so). Jillan Michaels had some good advice in her book Slim for Life and Master your Metabolism that if the food doesn't come from the ground or from an animal don't eat it. I've come to learn that this mantra has helped me tremendously start picking away at the pounds.0

Take meds and stop, gain weight. Don't take meds and gain weight. I, too, hope the person loses the weight they are seeking to lose. Taking the meds and it will most likely happen.0 -
Thank you Neanderthin, Solly, Scotty and Chris!
My Natureopath said my blood test results were in the diabetic range at 6.5 HbA1c.
So I think that's how she 'prescribed' it at the compounding pharmacy.
I am 5'8" and weigh 225 now - my goal is to weigh 150 pounds . I'd let to get back down from my current size 26 to a size 12 by Thanksgiving 2025.
It appears to me that what these Zepbound shots do is stop the 'food noise' and nothing else.
It is up to me to moderate my food intake by eating smaller portions, more protein, more vegetables, less carbs and sugar from things that aren't fresh fruit.
And exercise 6x a week (for me my goal will be an hour walk each day)
If I don't do the latter two things, taking the shots won't do squat in terms of losing weight.
Now - could I do the latter two things without the shots?
I haven't been motivated to do that in the last 15 years.
However, I better have the brain of a goldfish and continue to be motivated after i go off the shots, or it will all have been a tremendous waste of money and time. And new clothes:)1 -

Yeah, you got it worked out and you can do it, I have no doubt.1
