    Hi, I'm Charissa.

Thank you, QuiltingJaine, for leading the charge in 2025!

This is the "rubber hits the road" round for me. Before getting sick last round, I was .7 higher than my starting 2025 weight. So all losses were due to my illness. I just need to tell this to my brain! I also need to make sure I'm expecting realistic losses which is about 1lb.

Good Luck to everyone this round!

Q: What will be different in 2025 vs all the other times?
    A: Change in my mindset
    A: Being mindful and engaged
A: Addressing the elephant in the room!
    A: No excuses
    A: DETERMINED AND ENGAGED

    Overall Goals for 2025

Lose weight in the kitchen ⚖️, get fit in the gym🏋🏾‍♀️
Note: These are pretty much my same goals from 2023 and 2024, I've made some great progress but now it's time to knock this list out! My goals are SMART - just not including all the details here:

Goal#1 - Calories - Aim and plan for 1200; allow 400 just in case for a total of 1600. **Eat well 🥗to Live Well 🚢✈️🧳
Goal#2 - Wine/Alcohol Reduction - 85% Dry January or better ** 🚫🍷 Alcohol kills weight loss as the focus is burning alcohol calories and not fat calories!
    Goal #3 - Water - Minimum 50 ounces - Maximum 100 (only if consumed before 6pm) H2O - Make it Flow 💦💦💦
Goal #4 - Exercise - 6 days a week (Cardio, Core, Stretching, Strength Training) ~ 🏋🏾‍♀️ Don't think, just do it!!
Goal #5 - Self Care (Reading, Journaling, Monthly recap, Learning, Pampering)
Goal #6 - Organization and Declutter (Finish unpacking)
    ** To get to 100%

    Welcome @barronscompany and @JanFitch1

Welcome back @astroamy. I do not miss traveling for work :)

@_JeffreyD_ Enjoy your cruise. I LOVE Cruising but @reshii_devi is correct regarding the 'see' food buffets. I like that most ships have "restaurants" in additional to the buffet which usually means better choices. And yes...unless you're a really BIG drinker, pay as you go is fine. If you find otherwise, you can always upgrade on the ship. I was actually told that upgrading on the ship was better as you get to build a relationship (as they get the tip from your upgrade) with the bartender :). And amazingly I have found the gyms on the ship to be very busy. There is also a deck usually marked as a walking/running track.

@grindjourney and @susiemcmac ~ enjoy your weekend trips!!

@Chapter_3 Carolyn, thank you for that PSA....and you are so right. You can gain 2lbs overnight but it can take 8 weeks to lose those same 2lbs?? I haven't figured that one out but I do know it to be true!!

@reshii_devi ~ Even with a rough month, you are still crushing it!! Keep going my friend! Love Firmer February!!!

Good Luck @everyone with round 286!!

Hi again, I'm Amanda! 5'2" 39F in Virginia.

    RSW: 124.0
    RGW: ??

I'm not going to set my goals until later in the round I believe. Right now my only goal is to be present for R286 with everything in flux. My half-marathon is on Sunday so my main goal is to complete that! I'm planning to eat a lot of delicious food over the weekend and not have a scale for the first part of the round. My friends and I agreed it would be an alcohol-free trip and I’m so excited for that!

I appreciate all your kind words on my post about my job @reshii_devi @deepwoodslady @itladyee @Chapter_3 and @musicsax! My suspicions were confirmed yesterday and I am now unemployed. I’ll never understand why companies make layoffs effective so immediately. They are paying us until April 1. You’d think they would want us to gently transition some of our work. Since they’re paying us until April 1, we forfeit severance if we get a job before then. So, I intend to spend the next month+ on serious soul searching and introspection. The major I chose 20+ years ago has been pulling me along for all these years and I think it’s time to rethink how I spend my time.

Coincidentally, this round is my countdown to my 40th birthday on February 10th!

    1/31 - 123.4

2/1 - DNW. Yesterday I just had bacon and eggs and a bowl of delicious ramen so I probably didn’t do too much damage. Today we’re starting the day with a yoga class, meeting another friend for dumplings for lunch, and going to an improv show. Should be doing a fair amount of walking. Then early bed before the race! It’s so nice to be here with my friends from long ago.

@SModa61 along that same line, DH saw a new doctor on Tuesday and was told he needed to quit the board due to the stress.

@quiltingjaine So glad your DH is taking care of himself. My DH has spent the whole day dealing with one obstinate jerk in our association who is determined to just cause trouble. We head back to the insanity on 8 am flight tomorrow.

Sheri, I wish I could say he is. Yesterday he called Carnival to see about getting internet for one day so he can Zoom the stupid board meeting! It is possible but he’ll have to arrange it once we get on the ship. It will be our 3rd full day at sea.

@quiltingjaine Sneak over to the purser and give him a tip to "accidentally" disable the internet. :P We will be a little nutty here for the next week. Condo board training tomorrow (most of the day) for DH, the late afternoon meeting. Tuesday, double meetings AM and after dinner. Then late in the week, the annual meeting, after which we personally will host a social for all the member of the association in our unit. Meanwhile, our "jerk" has been a pip all day today, on top of the past three days.

Sheri, No, doing that would only make him mad at the cruise line. So if he can get it and it works it will be on him. Without him, it is likely there will be a lot of 3-3 votes and things tabled until the meeting next month.

@pezhed ~ sorry it came to fruition, but as others have said...consider it an opportunity to grow and pursue other interest. And yeah for severance, but that's kind of stupid to not allow you to find other employment....

I was laid off in 2014 after 17 years of literal blood, sweat and tears for a company. There was no warning (other than new ownership), and I was stunned. I took 30 days for a pitty party and then got back on my feet. In retrospect ....it was probably one of the best things that happened to me. You will rise!!!

    Ten Days Round 286

I've made it through one complete round. This round's goals are the same.
Daily I will weigh myself; record everything I eat & drink; and post to stay mindful of good habits.

My universe is insane right now. I've had no time to read everyone's posts. I'm missing out on valuable insight. Hopefully, I'll get a breather during this round.

Wishing SUCCESS to us all! 🙂

Ended Round 285 at 152.2lbs, up 1.0lbs for the round

    ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND 192.4

01/31-191.2-(Trend Weight: 192.4)- I stayed true to my goals yesterday but still no structured exercise. Just so messy and busy around here but reno is going well. This morning I am thinking about (and wondering) if my summer clothes are going to fit okay. I guess I will look back at my stats and see what I weighed last year. Time to prepare for the worst but hope for the best! Good luck everyone this round.

02/01-191.8-(Trend Weight: 192.3)- I was starving at 2:00 A.M. after dozing off for a bit. Usually I grab a “legal and healthy” snack, like an ounce of nuts. Not enough. Now an ounce of cheese keeping it low carb. Not enough. A keto snack bar, still not enough, and so on and so on. This time I didn’t fall for adding that ungodly amount of calories and unexpected amount of carbs. I grabbed a bowl of healthy choice chicken noodle soup and probably a tad too many crackers and ate a proper extra meal. Satisfying without breaking the bank. I’m up a few extra ounces today but nothing I can’t flush out if I apply myself today. I will definitely be pre-planning and pre-logging. Nipping it in the bud! I have zero plans of chasing my own tail or playing catch-up this current 10 days. I got this!

    1/31 - 166.9
2/01 - 166.4 - As expected, a nice drop now TOM's arrived. Today is a bit up in the air with food as we postponed date night to today since the Man arrived home so late from training last night and just wanted to relax at home. It's lunch but he has some errands he'd like to run so I'm not sure if we'll eat out or grab something at home before heading out. I'll do my best to eat sensibly regardless. Also need to squeeze in a walk with the dogs at some point today, particularly now that it's nice and sunny and it's warming up quite a bit.

    Previous Day's Comments
1/31 - TOM showed up this morning a bit unexpectedly. This is okay, I figured it was going to arrive sooner than my app had estimated and I was right listening to my body. Hopefully this means some extra bloating will drop off in the coming days. I'm not holding my breath given it is a weekend and BF is coming home tonight. We're postponing date night to tomorrow since he'll be arriving home so late due to rush hour traffic being unavoidable and I know he just wants to get home. I'll make something tonight that's healthy and balanced for us both. All else is going well, though! I need to make a meal plan for next week so I can grab groceries tomorrow so I'll start on that here shortly since work is over.

    Round 282 88.8 kg
    Round 283 88.4
    Round 284 87.75
    Round 285 87.55

Day 1, Fri 87.5, eating = good, 30 minutes running on treadmill
Day 2, Sat 87.7, median is 87.6 which is above the last round. I'm running 5 kilometers today so I'll keep my food at the same level. I ate a kilogram of peas yesterday, and my itchiness due to eczema has reduced. Apparently it's due to chlorophyll and peas have a lot of chlorophyll. I'll have another kilogram today.
Day 3, Sun 86.8, median is 87.5 just below last round. The peas have worked, my itchiness has dropped by say 2/3. I'm not sure how often to have them.

    60+ Female using trend weight

I gained 0.5 lbs avg last round. Second round in a row I've gained. While they are small gains it's not the direction I want to be going in. My goal is to intentionally move my body in the gym 3 times/week min of 15 min. I will establish the habit of going to the gym and then begin increasing my minimums.

🐸I will keep the analogy of boiling frog in my head🐸
