Hi,
Rosemarie I was surprised that it had already been two years since your DH passed. You have come a long way from the shocked state. I am pleased you are having the floors and stairs done! I remember your struggles with the yellow room (I think living room) . I hope you are continuing to enjoy it. All of you Ladies who have had spouses pass have been inspiring. You continue to give hope to those who are just starting that chapter in their life.
Tracey I truly believe the work noise is one of the reasons I turn little on in the evenings. Luckily I have control of the radio in the parts area. It is usually off. I have worn my ear buds a few times. Unlike my grandchildren though, I have to remove to talk on phone or have a conversation. Sometimes just one helps cut the chatter.
Barbie I think you are doing amazing marvelous job on self care and taking care of business. We all know some days are harder than others, but we are holding you up!
Lisa Welcome to my brain too! Luckily mine doesn't usually bother me at sleep time except when I am having an anxiety attack. What a wonderful idea from Corey! This also gives you a "safe" place if needed and needed rest. Yay!
DH waiting to be scheduled for MRI on heel/Achilles. In boot until done. I spent Monday making all kinds of appointments for both of us.
D is back to work! (Son in law) It is wonderful! He is seeing more of the "small dog" attitude from the one mechanic. He just laughs. I pissed small dog mechanic off yesterday when I said D would be opening shop as we would be late due to appointment. He thought he should have had the key to open. D has had a key for 12 years as he lives close by. I don't trust small dog with much of anything. Glad D is back!
I am doing well just been busy. Saw Chicago with DED and DYGD. It was wonderful.
I think I may have started this on Wednesday.....I said I had been busy! Going to post then catch up more!
Love,
Kylia scatter brained in OH

Machka - I hope they get the fires under control soon.
Sue - I may have to find one of those dentists. I snore terribly.
I’ve been tested 4 times and do not have sleep apnea.
Heather - ahhh! You’re right, sorry Machka. I will look at those.
I feel for your son, it has to be terrible to lose such a friend.
My granddaughter loves “Would you Rather” questions. I bought her a book for Christmas that was holiday themed topics.
Love the cards.
Allie - I have a set of TV channels that are the East Cost feeds of some stations. I saw the Boston news last night showing up into Maine and thought of you having to shovel your car off.
Margaret - I cant sleep with my mouth open. If I have a cold and stuffy and have to breathe through my mouth I barely sleep.
I love your table setting.
Beth - wonderful news on your biopsy.
I am not a fan of maple syrup, but I love the process of making it.
One of my fondest memories is helping my grandfather tap the maples. On an early Spring day you could go up to the tap and catch drops of sap right on your finger or tongue.
Grammie would boil it down and make maple syrup, it would be strained over and over.
One year, she declared that she was not doing it in the house, if Grampie wanted it he would have to do it over a campfire.
He loaded all of the pails of sap onto a horse drawn sled and we went up to the woods and boiled it all down. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, had hot chocolate and just enjoyed the day.
Thank you for bringing that memory forward for me. It’s one of my fondest.
Lisa - I am mostly feeling better today, apparently my boss had an upset stomach yesterday too.
Maybe we had a little bug.
So glad you had good sleeps this week. It’s so needed for our health.
Rita - I’m so sorry your children are causing you grief. Families sure can make life draining at times.
Flea - I would be upset too that he didn’t listen.
Rebecca - Happy to see Athena feeling better.
Rori - I think your little getaway sounds wonderful. What a mess that would have been.
We celebrated Valentine’s in separate rooms. 😂 DH was watching wrestling, NASCAR and hockey and he knew I wouldn’t want to so his gift to me was leaving the room.
I was never a very confident skater, but I enjoyed it. I should take that up again, I would also like to get a bike again, they are so expensive these days.
My brother and I had a long discussion about food choices last week.
We grew up with meat, potatoes and vegetables every night.
Pork chops, chicken, hamburger were the three main meats. My brother won’t eat a pork chop anymore and doesn’t want it cooked in his presence.
We never had pasta, tacos, salads but occasionally we would have goulash, potato scallop or a casserole of some kind that involved ground beef.
Now my brother said he can’t say when he last had meat, potatoes and vegetables for supper. He said that even a small bag of potatoes goes bad before they’re all used.
I am the opposite, my favourite meal is a roast beef dinner. We don’t have it often because it’s not DH’s favourite.
This past week I bought appetizer type things, and some Chinese foods. I am always looking for something that is quick and easy. I really don’t like cooking.
Terri - What a great idea to “shop” from previous cards.
Heather - I love those conversations with the young people in my life.
Beth - one of our residents has a cochlear implant. She seems to hear quite well with it, even things her husband doesn’t want her to hear. 😂
She is a feisty woman, I love her.
Another resident that was admitted a couple weeks ago thinks he’ll be able to go home when his wife recovers from a recent surgery. She told me the other day, that she is doing much better than she is letting him see. He won’t be able to go home, and it is just easier for their relationship for him to believe he’ll be able to.
Our rec team was going to have strawberry floats yesterday for the residents and they had valentines activities planned. We are on Outbreak so nothing could be done.
Debbie - it’s nice to see you get a weekend break without having to leave your home.
When I put pictures back up last year I only put up our family pictures. I put pictures of our girls and grands around the same age. I also used some family photos of the four of us through the years. I do have my parents wedding photo, there wasn’t one of his parents and I have one of each of our parents on a shelf.
I do have a long frame that holds 21 4x6 photos of various other loved ones in the hallway.
I went to ceramics this afternoon. I finished a coffee mug for Rodger and started a truck that you can add different inserts in for different holidays. Most people are painting it red, but I’m doing mine black.
She has a camper they you can use with it and I’m debating on doing that.
Tomorrow I am going to Kaitlyn’s for a haircut!
Just relaxing this evening. I bought pizzas made at the grocery store to be cooked at home for supper. If they are a hit I may do those instead of ordering pizza in the future. They are very well priced.
Tonight I think I’ll watch a couple of shows I have recorded to catch up on.
I watched last nights Dateline today before ceramics and while I caught up with you. It was an update on Susan Smith, she is the one that murdered her two children in the early 90’s. She is eligible for parole and had her first hearing. The children’s father will now have to go to a hearing every two years to fight to keep her inside. How heartbreaking for him.

Today was a quiet day. My eldest sister called and I was still in bed when husband handed me the phone! I told her to give me ten minutes and we talked when I had my coffee. She already has made another quilt! Started it on Monday and its now done! Just needs to go to the gal that puts the layer of quilting in it and does whatever pattern of quilting my sister wants. This one is hearts so maybe she'll pick hearts all over as the quilting choice.
I have started learning Italian on duolingo and its such fun. I do feel like I am in a foreign film and since I know the sounds, learning comes easily. I learned several Italian aria's where I learned the Italian words, but in general I had no idea what I was saying. I probably knew at the cusp of learning it and singing it, but have since forgotten. This will be interesting to find out if I learned the words correctly or not! Now in all fairness, when I sang the arias at the local senior luncheon many years ago, when we lived in Hammond Oregon, there was an Italian relative visiting and had listened to me sing. He said my dialect and phrasing was excellenti! That's encouraging!
Today was just scrounging around the kitchen eating. I had a 1/2 of a berry fritter with coffee, then lunch were 5 gyoza's with dipping sauce. Then some pine nut hummus and wheat crackers, then 2 Pinwheel cookies! Now having another: "un cafe con latte, con zucchero. (A coffee with milk, with sugar)
I love saying in Italian " scuse" which means "I apologize".😁

Was suppose to be a cat, but looks like a dog, but.....most importantly, my DH actually surprised me with it.
These sweet things bring so much joy and frustration! Today we came home from work to the TV on, hand towels down in bathroom, and Tiolet paper ripped up down the hallway! TP is expensive, yet 1/2 a roll was used to make confetti! They are 10 mths old now. They chased two squirrels up a tree this afternoon in the rain. It was fun watching them figure out hunting skills. Right now Tori keeps trying to put her mouse toy in my water glass!
Past couple of days have been rough. Sister in law has been pretty much MIA at work since Monday morning. Trying to stay aware of D (son in law) and the goings on in the back of the shop. He told me today that he just told R(small dog), that he had a choice...They could work well together, or it could be h3ll working together, his choice. I will say that having D is pushing R to not screw around as much! So they are catching up quickly in the back. This means I am working more as well. I had planned on doing invoices Wednesday night. Instead I removed door panels and front seats from our 2008 Shelby GT to take to upholstery shop. I am excited to get those taken care of. Needless to say, no work paperwork got done. Thursday, was bloodwork followed by upholstery shop, then back to work. I took DH to dinner Thursday night for Valentine's (I wanted fish). I then worked 2 hours on paperwork. Yesterday was just hard. I was trying to work at work, Sister in law started a project, but then couldn't do it without me. Imagine that. What should have taken me 30 mins, took me two hours after their hour. SMH! Just like that for the day. Today was better, she stayed out of my way! I got things done. Still have stuffs to do tomorrow, but am using today to catch up with you!
Bread Okay...USA ladies...how is it that one week you buy bread and it can sit in the cabinet for 2 months and still be soft and not moldy, but then the next time you buy bread it is moldy after 4 days? I like PB&J on soft whole wheat bread. I like tomato/cheese sandwiches on soft wheat bread. My DH would rather have white bread but I won't buy it, so puts up with soft wheat bread, but I feel I have thrown more out then we have eaten lately. Yesterday, I had planned on having PB&J sandwich to compliment my homemade chicken noodle soup for lunch on what was already a hard day. Imagine my surprise when I pulled out green moldy stuff from a 5 day old loaf. I found two good pieces and started to make my sandwich. Got busy at counter because others couldn't handle it. Went back to make sandwich and DH had gotten impatient to unpack parts boxes and squashed my bread. I really was done yesterday. I have no idea what I ate after that as I was just hungry. I didn't even try to log. Tonight I went to pull out some Naan bread to have for supper and it too was moldy- ugh.
Positives....I have gotten 30 mins of walking 5 out of 6 days this week. My active zone is 22 minutes per day. I have met/exceeded that 4 out of 6 days. I have averaged 31 zone minutes a day since Monday. My steps are averaged out to 9871. I have hit protein every day except yesterday (may have but didn't track. I am still nicotine free! I have to the tools, just have to do the work to get my jeans back to fitting better. Too many dinners out this week and not enough water meant I wore leggings to work today. I just couldn't do it!
Time to catch up with all of you!
Posting this first though!

Betsy: Good to see you posting again. And good news about your sister.
Lisa: For most of our early married life I looked after the finances as DH travelled a lot. Although we both had separate accounts. Mine was a savings account. When I started teaching I opened my own current account, but I only made it a current account after he was made redundant in 1994. We each look after our own accounts now, but they are mostly joint.

This morning the remote to turn on the bathroom heater was missing. Fortunately there are controls on top of the heater but I worried about what Annie did with the remote. I tried to contact the manufacturer about getting a replacement. They might call back next week. Fortunately I found the remote buried in my blankets and it emerged in the afternoon when I fluffed everything to get the bed ready for bedtime.
Betsy, glad to hear from you. Good news about your sister.
Kylia, the only way I can have bread in the house is to keep it in the freezer. Even with two of us in the house, it took a long time to eat the whole loaf. Now I am buying Dave's Killer Bread which Jake wouldn't eat. He liked soft white bread.
I've been listening to Irish music on You Tube, especially an album that was a favourite of mine when I was in college.

Kylia, we have noticed the same thing about bread over the past few months. But with plenty of time on the sell by/use by date, then goes bad in days. Sometimes, with the gluten free bread I buy, it is molded throughout with a month to go on the sell by/ use by date. We inspect the bread carefully now, but you can't see all of it, so mold sneaks through. Very frustrating with gf bread because it is about $8 a loaf.

Carol Prayers for your son's upcoming surgery. Unfortunately, it seems to be becoming more prevalent in our society. Fortunately this means the doctors are getting better at the procedures and care needed.
Beth I am happy for your outcome. The ride in the country sounds wonderful. I want to get my pretty cars out, but every time I turn around they are putting more beet juice or salt on the roads. Spring is coming, patience my dear!
Margaret Pretty flowers. Thank you for sharing the research you do to keep living a healthy life. I do appreciate all of the knowledge this group brings to the table.
Rebecca WA I am happy to see the grands feeling better and enjoying the snow! I know speaking with your sons makes your heart sing! Congratulations on the Italian learning!
All in this winter weather path, stay safe and warm! Flea I don't know why they don't listen! You know they would expect us to stay put if the weather was bad......
Lanette Both BMI scales and my doctors say I am at a healthy BMI, but it just isn't good when all that extra is around the middle.
Cindy I do best when I weigh several times a week always after I wake up with log weight on Monday morning. Fluctuations are normal. This just makes me more aware. I end up gaining if I don't pay attention. I am 5'2" small boned. I was 100 lbs until around age 35 when I quit waitressing and started at mower shop where we ate out fast food lunch 5-6 days a week. My highest has been 155 not pregnant. I started MFP with a friend June of 2010 at 140 lbs. My original goal weight was 110. I have adjusted that to 118. My body is just happier being lighter. I hit a plateau this past year in the low 120s then just quit paying attention. I have recently given up nicotine so that plays a part in my recent gain. I refuse to let it get me back on nicotine. I know some pretty amazing women to help support all the journeys I am making!
Rita I hear you! Part of me didn't get on here the past few days because they have been mentally rough, but you all reach out to me when you don't hear from me and pull me back in. (((HUGS))) I think the best thing I have done for my mental state and my family, is I let them live their own lives. We raised our children and they are capable of making their own decisions. If they harass, don't answer! Don't subject yourself to their nastiness. I had to do that to my mother. We have your back and are holding you up. REMEMBER- just 5 minutes today leads to 6 minutes tomorrow! You've got this!
Debbie A YOU weekend!!!!! YaY!!!!! Enjoy!!!!
HeatherUK Thank you for the 20 things. I took picture! Am glad you are there for your family!
I know there was more but DH really is wanting attention and I have been on this computer for a couple of hours!
Welcomes and welcome backs!!!
I am proud to be part of such a supportive and loving group!
You keep me encouraged to just get up and do it!
Much Love,

I paid 8.59 for two dozen free range eggs today. Felt pretty good about that since a dozen regular eggs was 5.39. I didn't complain because every time I do, my husband says, "it's still the cheapest protein." That is still true, but I'm not sure for how long.
Here was my dinner last night. Yummy.
Black cod, shrimp, mussels, over rice with a sauce with portabellas, carrots, and peppers.

Fires & Weather
Tasmania has been getting a bit of rain and the temperature has dropped off. Over 30C on Wednesday and Thursday, in the 20s on Friday, 12 on Saturday and it's 10 right now on Sunday afternoon. It's like when Alberta Chinooks move out ... bit of a shock!! However, it has helped the fire efforts somewhat.
93000 hectares (360 sq miles) burned so far.
Food
I grew up eating meat, potatoes and veg everyday at noon. Our big meal was at noon. The one exception was Saturday when we'd have pizza or lasagne or tacos or something different.
Sunday was always steak. The rest of the week, it was pork chops, roast beef, chicken, liver, meatloaf. There was always a big emphasis on meat.
I have not touched steak since I moved out. That surprised my parents when they found out a few years ago ... they loved the steak. I hated it.
I don't think I've had liver since I moved out either. I didn't mind the liver too much but I also don't miss it.
I have had pork chops a few times at someone's house when they've served them for dinner. But it has been a while, and if I never eat another pork chop, that's OK with me.
I have had roast beef occasionally, and it's something my mother insists on feeding us when we visit. I liked my grandmother's roast beef, but not any other I've tried. And it's not something we eat at home.
I liked meatloaf and it was always a relief to me to see it served. But I've not had it in ages. I do think I should try making it one day.
Chicken I still eat.
Basically, after 18 years of meat, I dropped most of it from my diet and leaned heavily toward being vegetarian.
I have had to cook in the last few weeks because of my husband's Achilles injury. I don't like cooking either and my husband usually does all our evening meals. But I have a few fairly quick and easy things I can put together.
One I've done a few times is veggie burgers. I buy the veggie burger patties and fry them in a pan with virgin olive oil spray. They are served with buns and all sorts of raw veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.)
Another is tacos with chicken mince. Cook the chicken mince in a frying pan with a spritz of the virgin olive oil spray. Then it goes on the table with the raw veggies and taco wraps.
I also make use of my slow cooker. Cook up a couple packages of chicken mince in the frying pan, pop it into the slow cooker with all sorts of veggies (fresh or frozen) and some water and spice, and I've got a good 3 meals. Serve it with the rice that takes 90 seconds to heat.
We buy frozen pizza from the grocery store to have each Saturday. Probably not as yummy as from a pizza place, but lower calorie and not bad. Sometimes I get salami to add to it or sprinkle a little bit of grated cheese on it.
On hanging pictures ... I hate hanging pictures mainly because I'm rather OCD about it. They've got to be absolutely perfect or they bother me. We have not hung any pictures on the walls of our new place and we're a little bit reluctant to do so. After all, we went to quite a bit of trouble painting the main living area and main bedroom blue!
So I did some Googling and came up with an idea I like better. I had one decorative bamboo ladder in our previous place which I used for decorative tea towels. In our new place, I've used it for hanging pictures. And I have purchased 2 more for more pictures.
Pictures can be moved or changed out for something else quickly and easily.

This morning I woke up at 5.55 am and decided to watch the link my son gave me to James's funeral. I didn't want to watch it late last night in case it kept me awake.
It was very, very sad, especially to see the boys there, 11 and 7. But it certainly gave a flavour of the extraordinary man he was, and there were lots of jokes and laughter. My son and three other best friends spoke about him.
I managed to screenshot some photos from the slide show.
Edie led the conversation yesterday with chat about world politics, the extraordinary chance of existence, (the subject of my new book), and lots of other fascinating subjects.Lots of painting got done, and hot chocolate was drunk from my special cups. I painted a large picture on canvas board, using an easel for the first time. I'm not sure if it's finished yet. I wish I had a big studio to paint much bigger pictures!
We are having the girls tomorrow after they have been to their art club. I'm wondering if they would like to help me put the trolley together that I got from IKEA. It's still in its box in the hall. DDIL probably won't be able to pick them up until 9 pm as she is at a wedding some distance away and is getting a lift.I think we will resort to a film on TV.
Max is coming over for lunch on Tuesday, so we will go to the fish restaurant. He loves fish and chips!
Much love to all. Sorry for not commenting much, but I have been a bit preoccupied. I think of you all.

Yesterday's walk ...
Today's walk ...
I did no work this weekend!
Instead, I organised the ornaments in a couple of my display cabinets, rearranged a few things in the kitchen, built 2 decorative bamboo ladders, and started going through a blanket box full of bedding, about half of which we don't use anymore.
What would you do with old (but not ruined) fitted king size sheets? It is highly unlikely we'll ever put the beds together to create a king size bed again. Or how about old pillow cases?
I also did a lot of reading and colouring.
Machka in Oz4 -
Kylia ... it's my understanding that a lot of the bread in the supermarkets comes to them frozen/partially frozen. Wonder if it's too much moisture or weird conditions at the store? I've taken to freezing all of my bread but a few slices. I was getting disgusted with buying specialty things like ciabatta rolls and having them moldy within a day or two. By the way, I won't eat any of the bread once I see mold ... I used to do that and then read that the sight of mold means the whole loaf is in the process of molding?? I will never survive in an apocalypse...
Beth near Buffalo3 -
Machka - I use king sheets for a lot of things I do - If they're the elastic all the way around, you can simply trim the elastic off - once it's gone, you can trim the corners into a curve, or not.... fold them right, and they're good to create jigsaw puzzles on. You can then draw one fold over to keep them safe from Rhody. The cloth keeps the pieces in place better than doing puzzles right on a slick table. I use them a lot to back small quilts, etc., but I have a feeling you don't sew much. The fabric in them is often less expensive than buying the same fabric in a fabric store. Two pillowcases could be very easily used like that as well, or turned into four sofa/couch pillows with a few very simple seams. I used to make them into kind of duvet covers for couch pillows, easy to throw in the wash and then put back on, or just change them out for different colors.
Heather - Your son's friend looks a lot like your son, actually - his eyes are quite similar; he has the same quietness behind them. And if you'll remember, I ended up painting a mural on the side of the (admittedly American-sized) refrigerator. Sometimes, you just want to paint something BIGGER.😂
Kylia - Yep, it's always to do with humidity. We keep ours in the refrigerator all the time, as it controls that. They can be freshened right back up with no more than a few seconds in the microwave, or if it's for a hamburger, we put the cut sides of the bun in the pan to toast them. Bread here goes moldy in two days on the counter. It can (and does) last a couple weeks in the fridge.
Quiet day planned today - Excited this morning, because my views on my short videos have hit 1,000 as of this morning! Much as I love y'all, I KNOW you haven't hit my stuff that much, so it's more than a thousand people I DON'T KNOW! 'Cause bluntly, I don't know a thousand people. 👀😂🐈⬛
Boring for the non-crafter:Went to town yesterday to take a look at what Joann's had on sale (fabric/crafts store, for my non-US peeples here), since the one nearest me is one of the 500 they will be shutting down in the bankruptcy they just filed.
The whole crafting universe on the interwebs is losing their minds crying and moaning about it, but in all honesty, most didn't shop there because their prices were just too high. And even with that, the fabric quality had gone down sharply, and they were bringing it in from China. I probably went there once or at most twice a year, and used coupons or sales to get a few items. I seldom saw more than one or two other people there.
Yesterday, there were dozens of people in that little store. Was talking to the clerk, and he said there were very rude people, most of whom he had seldom seen before, and it began on Wednesday, when the announcement went up. So, basically the vultures are picking at the carcass. I got out of there in a hurry.
Things change, the world moves, and businesses that don't work well for their market die. People get upset about the weirdest things.
Anyway - today is home, well below freezing outside, and it's just yucky. Happy to be warm and safe and busy at home.
Love y'all!

I was thinking humidity too. When we first bought the RV, I did a lot of research and one thing that stuck was to keep the inside RV humidity lower than the outside to prevent mold growth. Right now, the outside humidity is 76 (really high for the desert) but the inside is only 12%. I don’t do anything special to get there because the RV we have is well insulated, but would use a de-humidifier if it wasn’t. Our bread lasts a long time out unless we have the door open and the humidity goes up.

I’ll do algebra, tackle geometry, maybe even a little calculus, but graphing is where I draw the line!
I went on a diet and in 14 days I lost 2 weeks!
I burned 3,000 calories yesterday! That is the last time I take a nap while making brownies!
Have a great day everyone!

Barbie One of those days! I really dislike the ones when I feel I would lose my head if it wasn't screwed on.
Flea I paid $11 for small farm eggs at store. Got 4 doz "organic" at costco for $9. The small farm ones taste so much better! Your dinner looked wonderful!
Glad it isn't just me with the bread! I would think with all the chemicals in it, it would consistently last longer. Really glad I am not a regular bread eaters. I will bake my own one of these days. I may have to just try fridge like some of you suggested. I always store my tortilla shells in cabinet. Read this morning on package that I am suppose to store in fridge after opening....I have been storing in cabinet for years-lol!
Machka Not sure if a thing there, but here animal shelters accept old bedding. Also homeless providers if in good condition. Ohio is a strange state...because of our litigious society, a restaurant can't give away food getting ready to go out of date. It is okay for someone to pull from trash though. Never made sense to me. Oops..squirrel...bedding think shelters.
Wii Someone had mentioned wanting a second Wii. Message me. I had already taken to daughter's with a bunch of games and gear. If it doesn't sell, I will be happy to send for shipping cost.
Sorry, just thought about that...
Man, the squirrels are bad this morning!
I rarely go to craft stores anymore simply because they haven't carried much in cross stitch stuffs in years, plus I have lots. I use to go once a year to get Christmas project for Grands. I have found that when places are going out of business you really have to know your prices! One place was 75% off list, but that was actually still more than what they normally sold them for. Buyer beware!
Yesterday was rainy and 40* F outside. Last night it was thunder storming. This morning it is snowing! At times it has been blinding. I had planned on going to grocery today. I will wait until after massage tomorrow evening. DH wants to go to Sherwin Williams. I told him if it quit snowing we would go, otherwise we will go tomorrow. Being as he is still in a boot, not sure I want him out in snow, but whatever. He is an adult.
Evelyn I don't think I realized how hard 2024 was in the moment. Compared to 2025 so far, it was really hard but for different reasons for me than you. I know life is a series of ups/downs/ and circles, but I am hoping that we have pot holes and mole hills rather than sink holes and mountains! I do know we have each other and we are STRONG together!
Betsy I am happy that you are finding some peace and happiness. I hope that if I find myself in the same situation as many of you ladies, that I have learned some lessons from you all. Lessons of planning, patience, asking for help, self care, and life renewal. I am happy your sister's health news is also good.
Mo It amazes me how so many sports back in the day focused so much on weight of participants. I have appreciated the moving away from that in so many sports, ie gymnasts. How can you provide the athleticism needed for these sports without being healthy. Dance is/was another. I am seeing changes at least at the competitions. Just because your weight is one thing doesn't mean you are good. I loved ice and roller skating as a kid. Not sure how my balance would be these days....I would like to do a ballet class again though. I do find it interesting how our weight changes in different stages of our lives. I have had people tell me my belly is from having babies. I know that isn't true as it was flat until I was 35. The biggest change that was made was I was no longer walking/moving as much.
So the kittens have wanted out in spite of the snow. I put them out several times. This last time I couldn't get Cali to come in. Apparently there is an animal that growls trapped under the deck most likely because the snow has covered up any hole it had. I am hoping it will find its way out while there is snow on the ground so that I can fill in a hole! I also don't want it to die under there. Cali is not happy that she is inside right now.

Yesterday was like spring....this is today.
I really need to do some work. Signing off for now.
Lots of love!
Make the best choice you can in the moment (yes, sometimes that means a little chocolate)!
Stay safe!

Betsy - SO good to see you back, and so glad your sister's latest news was good. And yeah, I knew they were trying to make a lot of money back, but the prices, even so were STILL too high. I bought a pair of scissors I needed and escaped the horde. They had 25% off all their yarn, but I can get 30% off similar stuff at Hobby Lobby every other week! They'll eventually increase those percentages, but not interested. They'll be too picked over by then.
Kylia - Never too much, darlin', don't worry. We can always skip a couple words, or as Rebecca says, sweep them over to the margins. Soooo much better than not seeing you! You know we worry. 👀💖😂
Mo - Your journey was both different and much like mine. I think that putting that weight on both soothes our souls, with the eating, which becomes a drug, and the weight saves to make us safe from our abusers. Once we feel safe, we can become who we're supposed to be. Just my opinion.
Evie, dear heart - So good to see you.
Rori - Same for you, darlin'.
Ginny - Forgot to say, your cutie patootie is just that. Such a sweet little smile.
Flea - Love the pic of your dinner - right up my alley, except the veggies.
Husband is up and about. Exercise is done. Texted with son, and he and his SO will be headed to Florida tomorrow morning, got an apartment waiting for them, already deposit down, lease signed. They are an odd couple, bless 'em - but I don't have to live with 'em, so that's their biz.
Time for a late breakfast/early lunch, and then a shower. Not exactly a busy day, huh. Love y'all....

Good morning/afternoon/evening ladies -
ACK! I think I'm 2 days behind in reading posts! I did a quick run through, and a couple jumped out at me, hope to get back to them it later today. You gals have been busy!!
Barbara -wow, your seed starts are impressive. I think always wait too late to start lettuces and leafy things I see you have planted. Will try to get them in earlier this year. Do you just have them sitting in a window in your house? On a heat mat or under a lamp? I figure I'm a month away at starting tomatoes. Want to try a lot of different little cherry types this year, I loaded up on seeds last fall.
Tracey - yes, my hens act like they are queens around here.Getting an egg or two a day so I've upped their treats.
Betsy - sorry to hear about your sis, but things are sounding good. Crossing fingers the targeted radiation has done the job once and for all. Glad to hear you are getting out more and finding some enjoyable things to do.
Heather - What does the future look like for your son now that James is gone? Did you say the wife is running the business?
Rita - thank you for posting your SmartBMICalculator results. Very interesting! I really like how, when a person inputs target weight, that it's analyzed with tips and advice. I had never input a target weight before yesterday, and was surprised at the wise counseling I received. It said, among other things, that I could expect to gain 5# in the next ten years and do what I can to make sure it's muscle, and that otherwise a little added weight is no big deal since I'm in the "normal" category.
Reminder for "Weekly Check-In" tomorrow
