Betsy: Good to see you posting again. And good news about your sister.

Lisa: For most of our early married life I looked after the finances as DH travelled a lot. Although we both had separate accounts. Mine was a savings account. When I started teaching I opened my own current account, but I only made it a current account after he was made redundant in 1994. We each look after our own accounts now, but they are mostly joint.

🤗🤗🤗 and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

Bread Okay...USA ladies...how is it that one week you buy bread and it can sit in the cabinet for 2 months and still be soft and not moldy, but then the next time you buy bread it is moldy after 4 days?

Here, it depends on the humidity. Wednesday and Thursday this week were hot and very humid. The bread went mouldy in those 2 days.

Usually, we have one loaf in the freezer and one on the counter.

I did no work this weekend!

Instead, I organised the ornaments in a couple of my display cabinets, rearranged a few things in the kitchen, built 2 decorative bamboo ladders, and started going through a blanket box full of bedding, about half of which we don't use anymore.

What would you do with old (but not ruined) fitted king size sheets? It is highly unlikely we'll ever put the beds together to create a king size bed again. Or how about old pillow cases?

I also did a lot of reading and colouring.

Kylia ... it's my understanding that a lot of the bread in the supermarkets comes to them frozen/partially frozen. Wonder if it's too much moisture or weird conditions at the store? I've taken to freezing all of my bread but a few slices. I was getting disgusted with buying specialty things like ciabatta rolls and having them moldy within a day or two. By the way, I won't eat any of the bread once I see mold ... I used to do that and then read that the sight of mold means the whole loaf is in the process of molding?? I will never survive in an apocalypse...

Lisa here too, “the vultures are picking the carcass”. I didn’t buy anything because the prices still seemed high and the checkout line was really long.

I was thinking humidity too. When we first bought the RV, I did a lot of research and one thing that stuck was to keep the inside RV humidity lower than the outside to prevent mold growth. Right now, the outside humidity is 76 (really high for the desert) but the inside is only 12%. I don’t do anything special to get there because the RV we have is well insulated, but would use a de-humidifier if it wasn’t. Our bread lasts a long time out unless we have the door open and the humidity goes up.

Betsy - SO good to see you back, and so glad your sister's latest news was good. And yeah, I knew they were trying to make a lot of money back, but the prices, even so were STILL too high. I bought a pair of scissors I needed and escaped the horde. They had 25% off all their yarn, but I can get 30% off similar stuff at Hobby Lobby every other week! They'll eventually increase those percentages, but not interested. They'll be too picked over by then.

Kylia - Never too much, darlin', don't worry. We can always skip a couple words, or as Rebecca says, sweep them over to the margins. Soooo much better than not seeing you! You know we worry. 👀💖😂

Mo - Your journey was both different and much like mine. I think that putting that weight on both soothes our souls, with the eating, which becomes a drug, and the weight saves to make us safe from our abusers. Once we feel safe, we can become who we're supposed to be. Just my opinion.

Evie, dear heart - So good to see you.

Rori - Same for you, darlin'.

Ginny - Forgot to say, your cutie patootie is just that. Such a sweet little smile.

Flea - Love the pic of your dinner - right up my alley, except the veggies.

Husband is up and about. Exercise is done. Texted with son, and he and his SO will be headed to Florida tomorrow morning, got an apartment waiting for them, already deposit down, lease signed. They are an odd couple, bless 'em - but I don't have to live with 'em, so that's their biz.

Time for a late breakfast/early lunch, and then a shower. Not exactly a busy day, huh. Love y'all....

    Good morning/afternoon/evening ladies -

ACK! I think I'm 2 days behind in reading posts! I did a quick run through, and a couple jumped out at me, hope to get back to them it later today. You gals have been busy!!

Barbara -wow, your seed starts are impressive. I think always wait too late to start lettuces and leafy things I see you have planted. Will try to get them in earlier this year. Do you just have them sitting in a window in your house? On a heat mat or under a lamp? I figure I'm a month away at starting tomatoes. Want to try a lot of different little cherry types this year, I loaded up on seeds last fall.

Tracey - yes, my hens act like they are queens around here. :p Getting an egg or two a day so I've upped their treats.

Betsy - sorry to hear about your sis, but things are sounding good. Crossing fingers the targeted radiation has done the job once and for all. Glad to hear you are getting out more and finding some enjoyable things to do.

Heather - What does the future look like for your son now that James is gone? Did you say the wife is running the business?

Rita - thank you for posting your SmartBMICalculator results. Very interesting! I really like how, when a person inputs target weight, that it's analyzed with tips and advice. I had never input a target weight before yesterday, and was surprised at the wise counseling I received. It said, among other things, that I could expect to gain 5# in the next ten years and do what I can to make sure it's muscle, and that otherwise a little added weight is no big deal since I'm in the "normal" category.

Reminder for "Weekly Check-In" tomorrow <3
