I did no work this weekend!

Instead, I organised the ornaments in a couple of my display cabinets, rearranged a few things in the kitchen, built 2 decorative bamboo ladders, and started going through a blanket box full of bedding, about half of which we don't use anymore.

What would you do with old (but not ruined) fitted king size sheets? It is highly unlikely we'll ever put the beds together to create a king size bed again. Or how about old pillow cases?

I also did a lot of reading and colouring.

I have a couple of sheets, (they're just white) and I use them for when I want to throw together a yard sale and just lay out and put stuff on it out in the yard. You could cut the fitted part off and save if you ever need to paint some thing you have a drop cloth to put it on. Or maybe with the fitted parts you could cover something in the garage?

This morning I could not think of the word for the musical instrument my BFF and Lawrence Welk played with such enthusiasm. Kept coming up with “harmonica” “ukuklele” “concertina” “squeezebox” but knew none of them were right. Finally had to think about something else for the word “accordion” to bubble up. Must be a broken synapse there somewhere. :{ Time to take Lanette’s cognitive function test!
Heather, what is “gold meat”? From this morning’s CS Lewis quotation “The child enjoys his gold meat (otherwise dull to him) by pretending it is buffalo, just killed with his own bow and arrow.”
Barbie “opportunities for spiritual growh” Ain’t it the truth!
Machka every time I read your story and get to the phrase “He will never fully recover” my throat catches and I grieve for you. ((virtual introvert-acceptable hugs))
Terri when I read “praline mouse hearts” my stomach flip flopped
Margaret our tree has been down since Epiphany but Joe leaves the Christmas lights outlining the garage door on for me until full spring at least ;)
Lanette under withheld, over stated income, Ugh! Which model Canon? Do you have the option of connecting by cable instead of wireless?
Betsy thanks for the update on your sister, thankful for her quality of life and successful treatment but REALLY thankful for your changes, happy in your skin, more social, and comfortable wearing what YOU want.
Rebecca pinwheel cookies are one of my favorites, so much so that we only buy them for special occasions. :naughty:
Kylia after having to throw away more than half a loaf of my favorite sourdough, I’ve started freezing portions of bread, wrapped in foil for reheating, then in freezer bags. Bread, ah. This winter I’ve really gone overboard bread wise, English muffins, bagels, whole wheat peanut butter toast, in addition to the afore mentioned sourdough. Time to rein it back and shift to whole grains, beans and legumes. Like Rita’s smart bmi said, being nicotine-free and carrying a bit of extra weight is way healthier than lean by way of nicotine. Well done!
Barbie, which album of Irish music?
Lanette the seed-starting trays are on a heat mat under a grow light in the garage. It will be interesting to see if anything comes up, most of the seeds were from 2019 and before
Blustery so didn't make it to church this morning. Encoder crapped out so no online church.
Just saw this on FB and it made me laugh:

    Later, lighter, lovelies!

2025: Chose NOW: to move more than yesterday, fuel better than yesterday, open heart and mind before mouth.

This wasn't a special occasion, but I had seen a photo of a chocolate covered Oreo and so it was on my mental list to buy at the commissary.😂💖. I looked at the box of fudge covered Oreos and they didn't do it for me, but the container of Pinwheels did.😁
My favorite snack is my hearty grain bread, butter, peanut butter, and honey. Its a whole sweet feast actually. One of those snacks that are all warm and you don't even realize you have warm honey running down your finger.😂
It was snowing last Wednesday night and there was some on the roads Thursday as we went to the commissary, but it was really dry and melted by mid day. Then snow on the roads on Friday but gone by mid day as well. Its upper 30/ low 40's so no snow now. Our poor heating bill is $100 more! It was $300 this month. Next month should be even worse as the furnace has kicked on a lot these last couple of days.

Taking a little break. Dishes done, a load of laundry going and the big project for the weekend(well, one of the biggest ones)is done. All the pictures are back up. Didn't realize just how many we had up on that wall. NIce to have them back up instead of in a box or in a pile in the living room. Now I can declutter that side where they were stacked up.

Dh is doing pretty good at the show. He sold his largest pieces. One he cut the price in half but at least we don't have to haul it around any more- it was heavy-Godzilla with lights and sound on a heavy base

I will work on the living room a bit later. Have an hour and a half before heading over to take care of the dog. May take care of him a bit early so I can get the cats here taken care of then relax for the evening. DH won't be home until at least 8, 9 if they stop for dinner.

:) My current favourite snack is a thin slice of Dave's Killer Bread toasted with cream cheese and two sliced green olives.

:) My favourite Irish singers are the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. I had their record when I was in college in the 1960's.

:'( When my mother died and we moved into her house we spent a long time clearing and discarding and keeping her stuff. Even so I had recurring dreams of her being in the house with me and commenting on what I'd done with her things. Everything of Jake's that I discard makes me reflect on what he would think of what I'm doing. It's no wonder that I can't get more than a little done each day

:) I made a variation of the turkey meatloaf reipe someone shared. It smells great.

Lisa – how I miss AC Moore (bought out by Michael’s). they had so much more than Michael’s has, plus their prices and quality were better. How do you get 30% off at HL?

Michele - You just go there. Hobby Lobby always swaps weeks. This week is 30% off yarn and 40% off crafting stuff. Next week it's 30 or 40% off fabric and 40% off art stuff. Regular as clockwork. No coupons, no app needed. Check Weekly Ad posted on their website.
