Is it possible to close a discussion?
If yes, what are the steps to close a discussion.

Yes. Try Flag/Report, click "Other" in the list of reasons for flag/reporting, then type in the box that you'd like the discussion closed. I don't know whether the mods will do it - because I don't know what the rules about that are - but I think technically they could do it.

Flag > Report > "This is my post and I want to delete it" and then maybe put in the comment box you'd prefer it was just locked for new comments?

I noticed some of the MFP authored posts are marked as Closed.
I couldn’t find a way to mark a post as closed. Based on your response, it seems like this is only something the MFP administrator can do.
