@ContraryMaryMary ohhh.. those are gorgeous. Almost as nice as @kgirlhart s shoe porn.
After the dust storm on Tuesday yesterday was a really beautiful day. I got maybe the best sleep without aides in months for no particular reason I can think of. Wish I could bottle that. A little chilly maybe in the morning but I totally enjoyed the run and treated myself to more at lunch… I think after 60 plus days I really have built up to being able to do more mileage and just sort of keep going without my cardio stats telling me I need rest. Finally understanding how @AlphaHowls ran half marathons daily for years even when sick or injured. Altho no where near that level of course I can see where she could get there and just keep going altho the time it takes for me to put in the mileage due to my pace sort of sucks.
@chris_in_cal great to see you able to get back there after your terrific wreck late in Feb with the cyclist. Were you ever able to find out how they are doing?
@tarun_yadavA checked in with me on Strava and is still doing his gym workouts and foot is getting better so hopefully he will join later this month.
It's sort of nice on the formatting that you can size the pictures a little better.. It might be good once we get used to it even if we have to figure out the odd double spacing and bullets…. 😂

All are treadmill runs
3/1: 6.0 miles
3/2: 3.1 miles
3/3: 4.5 miles
3/4: Rest day
3/5: 3.1 milesTotal: 16.7/100
Last night's run was pretty good. I ran a bit slower than my previous 5k and it was much better. I'm still trying to find the right pace for different distances.

Thanks @kgirlhart . Very nice run while chasing the dog. 🤣 Love the shoe porn!
Beautiful @ContraryMaryMary .
You're doing great @chris_in_cal . How did you get rid of the space between two of your entries?
@CaityP27 You're doing great with all of that going on and the temps. I hope you and the kids get to feeling better quickly.
@SummerSkier Great running. If you could bottle that good night's sleep, I'd buy some. 😀 Did you make the running chart on the chart thing here or somewhere else and paste it in? I'm trying to figure out how to not take up so much space.
You're doing great @Zaxa2021 .

01/03 2.93 miles
03/03 3.04 miles
05/03 3.04 miles
06/03 3.04 milesTotal 12.05 / 70 miles
Nice run this morning, I know I shouldn't have run the 3 miles again today as my foot is improving but this is the 3rd time getting it this far.
@kgirlhart - lovely shoes, you did great getting 650miles and never have any complains or injuries.
@ContraryMaryMary - What a beautiful place!
For the computer anyway, if you press the shift key when pressing the return key it gives you normal spacing. I don't know about mobiles yet. I got this from someone else and it works.

Groovy! When someone realizes I may not be as crazy as I acted!

I just re-started C25K this month and I'm on Week 2 as of today so doing the math I might hit 25 miles this month?
I'm just hoping to stay on track with the program not too worried about the actual mileage. The 30 minutes at a time are enough for me!

01.03 stiff 5km walk
02.03 1.7km 12min 6:59/km - just fast

That was a very good run! Slow, but it worked despite running yesterday 😋

@ContraryMaryMary Great pictures! It Looks Like a beautiful place to live and walk around!
@AlphaHowls I don’t think you’re crazy, I think you’re inspirational :)!
@CaityP27 Great job getting in what you can with illness and uncomfortable weather!
@kgirlhart Those shoes look very nice!!!
I did my long run today. I needed to be at work by 12:00, and first had to drop off all the kids, so it was a very tight fit and I ran as long as I possibly could time-wise and then had to rush to get to work on time. If I would have had more time, I probably would have kept going. It was just such a nice run! It was such a beautiful day! Everything is starting to turn green and the sun was out, but it wasn’t hot. I can tell that my training is making it easier for me to run at a faster pace and guess what, Garmin even thought so too today. I’m productive for the first time in months 😂 and I got a vo2 max point - I’m just counting the days till that gets taken away again…
No forest and no boar sightings today. I ran 32km.
82.1/300km for March.10 -
New shoe day = best day @kgirlhart !
Those are beautiful views @ContraryMaryMary
My treadmill at home ranges from -3% grade to +15% grade & the downhill did feel really weird the first few times I used it @quilteryoyo. I don't mind it now that I've gotten used to it, as when I map out a run on Google Maps, it actually follows the uphill/downhill of the actual route and adjusts automatically as I run it and the Google Maps photos cycle through the route to make me feel I'm moving through that space. When my BiL was working in London, he & my sister did a race while there and she texted me photos from it; I recreated the race route and ran it too, and texted her similar photos back from my treadmill. It's a cool feature as it tends to help defer the usual treadmill boredom I find when I'm in the gym.

Congrats on the new shoes @kgirlhart. Looking sharp.
Beautiful pics @ContraryMaryMary. That looks like it would be a great place to run.
@John772016 that is a very cool feature on your TM. Never heard of that. But then again, I have a 15 yo TM I bought used. Netflix and Prime Video are my distractions.
@Laurz9191 fantastic long run! You are absolutely killing it!!
I dId 5min/1min run/walk intervals today. Felt a slight tug behind the knee, but it was a 2/10, so not going to panic. Funny, this is my average TM pace, even tho I had walking intervals. Maybe 'Jeffing' isn't such a crazy idea. 😋

Nice running @Mari33a . I hope you aren't doing too much too soon! Thanks for the issue on the spacing.
Welcome @briscogun . Sounds like you are doing great. Just be consistent and you'll get there.
Glad you had a very good run today @yirara .
I'm impressed with your run today @Laurz9191 ! Glad it felt so good and sounds like the weather was fantastic. I can't imagine running 32K and then wanting to do more if I had time.
All of that is very cool @John772016 !
@Scott6255 I'm glad "Jeffing" it is working to keep you running and not re-injuring your knee. As you know, I like Jeff and just know, mentally, I couldn't run really long distances without it…probably couldn't physically either. 😂

I had my annual follow up with the vascular surgeon (heart aneurysm) this morning. As expected, everything still looks good and stable. There is no growth in the artery past the repair, which is what they look for. He said just to keep running and eating plenty of protein and weight lifting. I love him, because he is the only person/doctor that ever uses the word "tiny" to describe me.
After I got home, I had some other things that I needed to do, so decided to do a true wun on the treadmill. I only ran a minute here and there at 4.5 mph in order to keep my HR above 100 bpm.

I took my new shoes for a 6 mile run this morning. It was a nice, but uneventful run. It was chilly, but spring is definitely in the air. The dogwoods are starting to bloom. Have you seen any bluebonnets yet @SummerSkier? Y'all usually get them a few weeks before we do.

All treadmill:
- 3/1 = 2.3 mi (walk)
- 3/2 = 2.4 mi (walk)
- 3/3 = 1.4 mi (jog/walk) C25K week 4, workout 1
- 3/4 = 1.3 mi (walk)
- 3/5 = 1.4 mi (jog/walk) C25K week 4, workout 2
- 3/6 = 2.4 mi (walk)
Frustrated that I can't get through the week 4 workouts without stopping during the jogging sections. Looks like I will be repeating week 4 at least once more.

Glad you had a nice run to break in your new shoes @kgirlhart .
Hang in there @brnlow . You'll get there. Just keep at it.

And another very nice run. I think this is the fastest I'm currently able to run, but that's fine. As temperatures get higher I'm running better. I also got out my winter leggins, and feel they have an additional positive influence on how my muscles work.

I'm glad you had another nice run @yirara ! Being warmer must help!
Nice @Mari33a . I hope the Nikes work for you. I haven't been able to find anything I can wear but the Adrenalines. Of course, I haven't tried many other brands/styles.
Great consistency @John772016 .

I went to the gym this morning. I only had time for a quarter mile pre workout walk on the treadmill. Mom was waiting in the car, so I didn't do a post workout walk. (We were doing our shopping today.) I did arms again today - bench press max was 55# for 4 reps. That's one more than I've been doing lately, so that's a small improvement. I also did battle ropes, triceps pull downs, dumbbell press, and ball slams.
After I got home, I took a nap and then did a treadmill session. I really didn't think I'd do much, but once I got going, it wasn't too bad. I ran a little over a mile before walking a min (4.6-5.1 mph for 2 min each), then ran at 5.2-5.5/4.0 for 2/1 min and ended with a couple of 1/1 min at 5.6 and 5.7/4.0 mph. Overall avg pace was 12:23 min/mile. Avg HR was 138 with a max of 164 bpm.
I'm not sure what I will be able to do tomorrow because I will be travelling to Knoxville to play league tennis, which starts at noon. So, it's gonna take up most of the day with traveling and playing. I'll at least try to get in a mile at some point during the day to keep my streak going.
Good luck to all of you racing this weekend.

All are treadmill runs

3/2: 3.1 miles
3/3: 4.5 miles

3/5: 3.1 miles

3/7: 6.2Total: 22.9/100
I took yesterday off because I was just too tired. I had nothing left in the tank. I fell asleep on the couch by about 8 o'clock, so I guess I need some extra rest.
I was feeling a lot better today and was able to do 6.2 miles tonight. It was a pretty good run. I'm starting to enjoy my longer runs (about 10k) more than the shorter ones (about 5k).

Hi everyone!
Just checking in!
Orthotics should be back next week. And if they are, I'll get in a run. 🤞🏽
Have missed running. Went out on Thursday for drinks. Not particularly hungover. Got to Friday morning... And I just couldn't bring myself to get in the car. Driving 10 mins and parking up and walking. And the thought of a sweaty packed gym and rowing again. So i skipped a day. Really missing the running now. On a day like Friday morning, woulda just got outta the door, cold air, and started moving/jogging at slow pace for a couple mins, forcing it to begin with - and I woulda got a workout in.
Hoping this is the last week! 🤞🏽
Anyways side note... Does anyone know viviamillm? I got a friend request and a DM from her. She's not a Russian p0rn bot or anything. But I get super suspicious when a good looking woman just slides into my DMs! Lol
The whole friend thing is non existent now - as the social feed element has gone!
Is she anyone's friend? I asked if she's on this forum, or observing?
5 -
oh Man @tarun_yadavA I would stay far away from that one/thing… ROtFLOL. I see no real need to have any new friends at this point as private messaging is really the only benefit. So if folks want to friend me I just decline unless I know them from my group and they want to chat.
@quilteryoyo I just did a screen shot of my excel sheet and clicked the little picture icon below. then it let me resize. I think attachments might work like the screenshot above. yes.. experiment below.
@Mari33a I like several styles of the nikes and actually compared to some other brands they are amazingly well structured and comfy. Waiting for the shoe porn. It's nice we can resize photos so spoilers are not so incredibly important .
Work was pretty crazy last week but I am learning that I can get more miles in with a run at lunch vs a walk so will continue that until the weather becomes too hot for it. Still very surprised that we are 66 days in to the year and I have managed to keep my avg up. I am hoping to get over 500 miles for the year total in by the middle of the month.
5 -
Oops forgot to mention @kgirlhart that I think the bluebonnets are REALLY late this year here. I haven't seen any clutches at all and the one neighbor whole yard should be exploding right not barely has young plants. Of course that house changed ownership and I think they did not water at all. Altho we have had rain it looks like a bad season for wildflowers this year. Trees are only starting now to bud out.

@tarun_yadavA She Friended me, then after a week started interacting. There is strong bot energy. The text she writes is nearly completely generic, and I get a ChatGPT vibe.
She did nothing wrong, but as you wrote, why is a women seemingly in her 20s privately reaching out to me (and you) and engaging in banal conversation? I'm very well prepared for her to fail the sniff test.
In my interactions it had nothing to do with running or this challenge.

38.45/125 miles completed for March
I forgot to post yesterday. I ran a 4 mile tempo run. I haven't done any speed work lately, so I thought I would. I'm going to try to add at least one speed workout each week. I have a tendency to just run every time with no real goal. Which I think is ok for the majority of runs, but probably not good for all of them.
I don't know how I got my last post to not have the spaces.
@SummerSkier I thought you would have them by now. My daughter used to live in Austin, but she moved to the DFW area in December. She used to let me know when she started seeing them. I am so ready for spring.
@quilteryoyo I don't know how you do all the things you do. You need to change your user name to Superwoman. 😊 You are such an inspiration! Good luck with the tennis.
@Zaxa2021 I prefer 10K runs to 5K runs too. Looks like the rest day was just what you needed.

@Summerskier @Chris_in_cal haha! Noted!

Just wasn't feeling it this morning, so went shopping instead. After coming home, I talked myself into at least loading/following a training video of a shorter 21 minute run (aka I'm stubborn 😀). Felt pretty good when it finished & wished I had picked a longer one, so did another.
5 -
@tarun_yadavA @chris_in_cal I think you have a secret admirer 😉
I think I got too anxious to get back to running. After Thursday the back of my knee kept hurting. A little better today, so went back to 2/2 intervals. Felt ok.

I ran the Maraetai Half this morning. Stunning day for it and Maraetai is the most beautiful setting - south of Auckland city (about an hour drive from my home in North Auckland) and on the water.
Unfortunately, I was seriously not in the mood when I woke up at 5:30am, and things hadn't improved at the start line. In fact the first few kilometres were a bit of a struggle fest in that I simply didn’t want to be there, but my legs knew what to do although I could feel my right hip was off from the get-go.
I hit my stride about 8k in, just in time for a rather large hill, but once I was over that lump (I didn’t run the steep bits) at about the 12 km mark, I was feeling really good and managed to my pace up for a few kilometres and really started enjoying myself.
Finished in 2:12, which is not great for me, but I can feel my fitness is definitely improving and if my hip were behaving, I probably could’ve taken a few more minutes off that.
There’s a month to my next half so it will be interesting to see how much progress I make in those four weeks. Will I finally returned to a sub two hour half?
