wow, I’ve been down a real rabbit hole. What I enjoyed so much appears to be sahnequark, which is quark with cream mixed in. Regular quark is a spreadable cheese.

Fascinating stuff. I’m going to try making it first opportunity I get. 👍🏻

My breakfast every day for three weeks now. I think it qualifies as an obsession.

Quarkini and milch kaffe. I walk the two miles round trip to the bakery to help offset some of the calories.

I’m going to miss this so much. 😫

My current obsession is kiwi fruit with the skins ON. I blame my daughter, and the innocent message she sent me, asking if I knew that it was okay to eat the kiwi’s skin: she had actually tried one and reported it ‘was fine’. I said “Ewww!”. So I bought some, and ate one… and immediately ate another one.

I love sour tastes (lemon, grapefruit), so I discovered they are tasty and easy to eat them unripe this way (just like eating a green apple), but I do think it has to be the furry skin I now find irresistible, right? Back when I ate them ripe, scooping out the flesh like a boiled egg like any normal person would, I thought they were pretty ‘meah’… I perhaps ate 6 over the whole of last year.

I crave them all day long but savour them to eat after dinner. Hubby is amused/bewildered. Last week it was still a 2-a-day habit, but yesterday and today I ate 3. I really don’t know where this will escalate to...

I have always eaten kiwi with the skins on, but the thin skinned kind. Last fall I found out a variety grows here when I was given some (Vancouver area of BC), but it had a very thick furry skin - almost prickly - so if you rubbed most of the excess off, might be edible - but I used a grapefruit spoon to scoop it out 😉

🤦🏻‍♀️ I never thought of scooping one out, and hate peeling stuff, so have always avoided them.

New use for the grapefruit spoons I just got.

    Thanks!
