Today I was able to sleep in until 7:30 am. It felt really good, plus I slept restorative last night. It makes a world of difference in how I feel. Though I do put the F in Feasting when my window opens, my fasting times are squeaky clean, black coffee and water. Since starting this fasting journey (this time) I have stuck with it. People in my fasting FB group state it takes a good 3-6 weeks to actively convert your body from a sugar burning engine to a fat burning engine. I started this past Monday at 249.4 and this morning I am 242.4. Its startling but healthwise, I feel a heck of alot better.
Today I am having some pickled veggies, asparagus and beets, with 2 prunes, and a handful of walnuts & cashews. Then some crackers with brie cheese and salami. Main meal will be some honey glazed salmon mixed with Ben's Original rice packet that has veggies in it, some wilted spinach and cottage cheese. I will have lots of leftovers so probably halving the salmon piece and containering part of the rice for tomorrow. I do want to have some fruit. I have grapefruit segments in the fridge and mandarin oranges.
Adding apples and walnuts into my chicken salad has definitely been a delight. I also add in a splash of ACV to give it a zest, along with a dash of sugar, salt & pepper, and Old Bay. This weekend I will make some and put it in a tortilla wrap, along with spinach. Might chop up some sweet yellow onion too.
I have noticed along with paying close attention to how I feel throughout this IF journey, I also pay close attention to what I am fueling my body. Its a weird deal to be so hyper fixated on meal prep that there is an excitement to it. My 4-6 hour eating window is important. Refueling, so my body can hum along its 18-20 hour fasting/healing session is very important and I need to be smart. If I limit food, then fasting can become a extreme diet situation, and that is not what I am trying to accomplish. So though I might text a lot about food, I do try to keep it all healthy.ππΌπ

Rosemarie ~ I am so proud of the way you are turning your life around. It sounds like you have many interesting projects going on as well as adventures to enjoy!
Heather ~ Glad Bea liked her BD present and must say that is a gorgeous cake that your son made for the occasion.
MO ~ Get some rest!
Rebecca ~ Glad to know that you are enjoying your way of eating and that you are losing weight.
Lisa ~ Enjoy your weekend away.
We have a formal and I mean FORMAL wedding to attend in May. The women are expected to wear long dresses and the men tuxedos. At the moment I don't have a dress and dread finding one for my short stubby body. This is for my DnL's brother's wedding. The bride's family is very well off and live a life that I have never been a part of. Will be glad when it is over.
My eye care place called me this morning and I am scheduled to have the treatment for my eyes in two weeks. Hoping that I will see a great improvement.

Have we heard from Allie recently? I've not seen an update, but I know she sometimes posts on Facebook. Last I recall here, Dan was taking her back to the clinic for a checkup?
Carol-- I would be stressed as well about that wedding. I am not a fancy person. But you will look lovely!

@MO I am currently living in an RV and have until April 30 to leave. We have a rental unit which is where will put all of DHβs tools and any excess βstuffβ from the RV. We had to get 2 new tires replaced, done with the unexpected tax refund. The a couple days ago, our faucet broke so had to replace that, and a battery for the RV split open and had to be replaced. We need another battery but are waiting until next payday to get that. All this in preparation to move to a different RV park, not owned by the state, but a private one. The monthly rate is within our budget and there is a laundry, pool, and clubhouse with gym equipment, a badminton table and a pool table. Our plan is to stay there about 6 months, then look into purchasing a single wide trailer to put into the adjoining trailer park to the RV park. This park will bring us within 3 miles of the city instead of 15. We just need to wait for the park to call with the opening. All looking good and going in the right direction.
Thoughts for today:
What did the mother broom say to the baby broom?
Itβs time to go to sweep!
Follow the yellow brick road everyone!

Flea- im alive and kicking..today I was tired and yes my son took me down to the post transplant clinic yesterday morning..
I had to change my own dressing today and didnt do the greatest of jobs but hey I tried..my sugars are staying on the low side and my bp is normal so all that is good..I have to learn to eat like a diabetic, but ive sorta been eating that way for awhile..but there are so many rules about what to do and not do..and darn it..im trying my best for sure.
Supposedly they are sending me a freestyle meter so i wont have to keep poking my fingers like a pin cushion, with the anti rejection and antibiotics they have me on i have to stay out of the sun.at least for now.
I did get out to the PO and got the swimsuits out to Rebecca she should get them Monday..sure hope they fit

Barbie - I thought you might like Good Ship Murder. π Not sure how I ran across it - there are probably other gems like that.
Machka - I'm sure the high heels contributed to my foot problems, tho I only wore them regularly for a decade or so in my 30's. They weren't real pointy but they had 1 to 2 inch heels. Dr. D says I don't do enough calf stretches so the ligaments in my feet get tight and that's why the metatarsalgia. I'm guessing it's a combination of everything.
Thank you for the Science Direct article. Interesting! In that Huberman/Seheult podcast I referenced, they emphasized how the red light part of the spectrum (the human eye can't see it) energizes mitochondria and our immune system - and being among trees and grass reflects and helps intensify that. According to the research they mentioned, the red light is able to penetrate through most clothing and deep into the skin so no need to march around outside in our birthday suits during the winter to get the beneficial effect. π
Rosemarie - thank you for the catch-up! So glad you are doing well and have a lot going on. Isn't Tractor Supply something else? π Did they have any chicks? What a nice thing to volunteer at Walmart to help seniors shop, I wonder if mine has volunteers helping in that capacity too. Good idea getting that valve replaced on your car, I'd have done the same. One less thing to worry about. Sounds like your lawn iwill be coming together nicely.π
Heather - Bea's cake looks wonderful. If the transporter was running I'd crash the party, lol.
Tracey - I don't consider a squeeze a hug, lol. That's what my DH would dish out. I bet if some young men in a youth group or football team, for example, wanted to have a fundraiser, they could sponsor a "hugging booth" for senior ladies at an event. A hearty hug lasting 30 seconds or more. I'd gladly give them a $5.00 donation. π
Rita - that new RV park sounds great. Nice to have a laundromat, pool and gym. Glad you have a plan and things are heading in the right direction - much less stress, I'm sure!
Allie - glad you are doing OK. Yes, a Freestyle meter will make it much easier for you.
Carol - glad you will be able to get your eyes taken care of in a couple weeks. π I'd be thinking hard on how to get out of the wedding invite, lol. All that dressing up sounds like torture but that's just me. π
Busy morning in town. Hit a couple grocery stores - Walmart was a mess, an electrician did something and the power to the coolers and freezers went off along with the lights! Employees were busy throwing stuff away and I guess they had a refer truck they were transferring some things into. In a couple weeks, we'll have a new WINCO store opening in a nearby town plus a new independent grocery has opened on the way to White Pass, not far from me. I plan to tool down there early tomorrow morning and check it out.
The DEXA scan was quick as usual. Glad it's done.

Mo- no, he hasn't moved in over there yet. DH is really dragging his feet. Still hasn't admitted that she will never be able to move back home. Son wants to just clear everything out. Wants us to go through the stuff he boxed up and give away as much as possible(if it was up to him, he would put everything on the curb)
He wants the boxes out of the way so he can set the down stairs, where his computers and large tv, etc will be set up). They did shampoo the carpets and moved some things but still a lot more to move out.Was ready to walk out the door to walk the wetlands before picking Ezie up and the skies opened up. POURING plus high wind advisory until 5pm. Guess I will be skipping that walk today. Good thing I walked extra yesterday. I did take the dog for a 20 min walk earlier. The sky was clear then.
I will head over , just to get parking pretty soon.3 -
Machka yup, when I worked in San Francisco, I wore those pointy high heeled shoes in the office, but snkeakers when walking from BART station to work and back. That geography and traffic jam remind me of those days. Now I only wear hiking boots or Adidas, except for low flats to church. ;) Thanks for the
Debbie 27K steps? WOW! Hope you slept sweet. Looks like your getting our rain/winstorm too.Tracey Joeβs not much of a hugger. Fortunately the line dance and church gals all are great huggers.
Rosemarie whew! So much volunteering and activity, sounds like the coast trip is just the break you need.Likewise Mo, hope your trip with DH is relaxing and restoring.Lisa safe travels!Barbie Dancing, great idea. Need to practice/learn 5 Leaf Clover and Dig Your Heels for Mondayβs class.
Heather Iβm in awe of your fashion sense as well as your gourmet meals. Your sonβs a gifted GF baker!
Carol glad to hear the eye treatment is scheduled, prayers for quick, painless and complete recovery. Is there a graceful way you can say βThanks, but no thanksβ to the formal wedding invitation? I picked the wrong formal for my prom, a columnar, Grecian, flowing style that on my short and rounded body looked like a sausage casing. Beware!
Rita laundry, pool, clubhouse and gym sound great! Will you be able to use the RV park amenities when you move into the trailer park?
Lanette when you get the transporter up and running, please pick me up. Is there a wayback setting so we can so we can crash Beaβs party together? βHugging boothβ great fundraising idea! How I envy you a nearby Winco. Hope the DEXA shows good results from all youβve been doing!
Allie, wish theyβd send a nurse over to change your dressing, infection is such a risk. Oww! Hope you get that Freestyle monitor soon!
Despite pouring down rain, high wind warnings and flood watch, went to Freddieβs early this morning. It was wildly windy in town, not so bad here at home. Got home, fed the pooches, filled a hanging basket with potting soil and set it outside to be rainwatered, finished readings, took bp, ate breakfast, reconciled checking account. Now just enjoying the woodstove fire and trying to decide whether to read, nap, or tackle a project. Oh I know, itβs time for Jeopardy walking! π
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Rosemarie, the exercise classes that I attend are live. They restructured the program last year and have two membership levels - silver and gold. You have to be a gold member to have access to the live coaching, I think, but Iβm not sure. Itβs different from when I first started. The gold program is not cheap, but I βdrank the Kool-Aidβ a while back so donβt know what Iβd do without it.

only walked less than 15 min at the wetlands. It had cleared up so I started to walk. Of course less than 10 min in it started raining so headed back.
Won't be walking the dog tonight either. Son and his girlfriend are over there so they will take him out and feed him. Nice to not have to go over there.2 -
π Carol The bride and groom at that wedding must be very special to you for you to decide to buy expensive clothing. A few years ago we were invited to the wedding of the daughter of one of Jake's very good friends. It would have required buying new clothes, staying in a hotel in Seattle, and boarding the dogs. We decided to send our regrets and buy an expensive gift instead.
π Allie Wow, all that post transplant surgery is overwhelming. Take it one day at a time and accept all the help that's offered to you.
π Lanette, I started watching Good Ship Murder and like it a lot.
π΅ Annie was slightly less annoying today while my friend and I danced. Even so we had to throw the ball a lot and finally put her on a leash for the last dance.

I almost signed up for the app, Babble but the app wants a picture. i usually don't provide pictures. Apparently this app is popular and used to find people to attend concerts with and so forth. Tonight I watched a Greg Allman concert in the living room! It was fun! My friends tend to be older and past having interest in attending rock concerts. But I still would like to attend a few more.
I noticed we have an Audubon Society and they take frequent walks. The one in the morning is a local walk . I was going to go to the gym but plan to meet this group instead. This would be a hobby that is outdoors and could last through the senior years. And men seem to enjoy this as well. We will see.
Next week I will be out of town 3 days! It is very rare to leave town at all. Never mind 3 days!
i plan to remake the lasagna with a recipe with provolone cheese. I felt that was really missing in the lasagna the other night. I will make this tomorrow afternoon.
Best,
Rosemarie from GA

Get a nice blouse, something you could wear for other occasions with a short skirt or slender pants. Perhaps something like in the photo below. That one is $55 Australian, so less in US.
Then get a long, narrow black skirt from one of your local OP shops. You can pick up one of those for < $10.

Im slowly getting the hang of things but yes Im taking it slow and steady.
Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy and yucky so will just hunker down.and Monday St Patricks day.back down to Yale.
You haven't seen pictures of the kids lately

Allie ~ Who is keeping Delia while you recover? She look quite happy!
Machka ~ I think the idea of a nice blouse over flowing trousers is good!
Rosemarie ~ So glad you are finding the new activities to enjoy. I looked up Zenith Zoysia and the seed is very expensive. Our back yard is bare dirt and needs a do-over. I have had pine straw covering it in the past but our lawn guys can't figure out how to cover the bareness with it and just put around shrubbery. I planted Zoysia plugs in my front and side yard years ago and that looks fine. Unfortunately, there is no way I can do that anymore. Hard Work!

Saturday β¦
I've dropped another 0.5 kg. Now I'm down 5.5 kg (12 lbs) since the beginning of January.
For the most part, I have settled into eating less, but today I was hungry.
Usually, I eat between 11:30 am and 8:30 pm during the week (9 hours) and I don't eat for the other 15 hours. On the weekends and holidays, I eat between 1:30 pm and 8:30 pm (7 hours) and I don't eat for the other 17 hours, and that's because I sleep longer on weekends and holidays.
What I eat during my eating hours is pretty basic.
A small quantity of chicken or chickpeas, rice and veg for lunch.
Snacks are a very small quantity of crackers and cheese, a little yogurt, a couple pieces of fruit and evening ice cream bars/sticks.
Dinner is largely veggies with a bit of pasta or rice and occasionally a very small quantity of meat. It's easy because I can buy the same things over and over. The ice cream is the only sweetened thing β¦ but I do like ice cream. :)

Today I checked something else off my list of things to try β¦ my husband and I went to a pottery class! Our group was divided in two. In the first hour of the class, our smaller group built things by hand. My husband made quite a nice dish for our cat. I started making a pen holder cup, but ended up making a dish to put succulent plants in.Then the smaller groups switched and ours went to the wheel. That was a lot of fun!! I was covered in clay from head to toe! But I ended up with a little bowl. They will fire the items and let us know when they are ready. I have made a few things by hand β¦ once with a mould and once without ... but I have never used the wheel. We both commented that we might be interested in another class or two. So we'll see!And now I have to check the list and see what's next. What else have I not tried?!?βββββββββββββββββββββββββββ-
Then we went to our son and daughter-in-law's place and met our new granddaughter!! π I got to hold her for a little while. Apparently she's usually fussy but she stayed with me, quietly, for quite a while. We also played with our older granddaughter. ππ

I got a short walk in today, but still doing at least 15 minutes a day. The short walk today was probably all right because I've put my legs through a bit this past week with cycling, stair climbing, and longer walks.
And the weather turned bad - very windy and a bit of rain.

Lisa - ποΈπ°π§ΆπΏοΈπΏοΈπΏοΈπ your post today is making my brain work overtime. Trying to decipher the hidden message here, lol. π
Rosemarie - the Audubon Society sounds like a great opportunity to explore nature and meet people. My sis and her DH in Indiana have been members for a long time, and every spring they have a huge garage sale. Motivates her to keep decluttering. Plus they love being outdoors and going on bird counts!
Machka - good job on the weight loss. Your diet looks very well balanced. The pottery class sounded like a lot of fun. Love that you and your DH have opportunities to do so many fun things.
Allie - great news your waterworks is working - it will be good to head back to Yale and have them check everything out on Monday. I'm sure they are keeping an eye on you. Nice that Tracy is able to take Delia with her to work - I believe you said that's how she'd be watched with you out of commission? And Miles' daycare would be able to take her when she's older?
By the way, I'm not sure how this kidney replacement works. Do they take one out that's not (or barely) working and leave the other one in as a "helper" to the new one? Even though it's probably not much help?
Mo - spending time in FL with your DH sounds great. I've love to be a mouse and ride along in your suitcase - I could use some of that sunshine. π Glad your leg is doing better and you're able to get exercise again.
Make it a super day, ladies!π
