    I'm Chris - 75 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...

    My husband and I are retired.
    I see my trainer for 60 mins three days a week and try to walk the other four days. The walking doesn't always work out.

    I lost a bit of weight by changing my habits eating at restaurants. I only eat out if I am with others and typically order one entrée/no sides or soup and salad
    *2025 I will not eat anywhere with a drive thru window!
    *I quit drinking cream/sugar after 2 cups of coffee..most days and cut down on wine/beer and buying cake, cupcakes
    *Also, I have a meal plan with vegetarian meals at least 5 days per week. I have my meals logged in advance every week, usually around 1500 calories per day. (I'm short 5'2). I try to stick to the plan, but not counting calories anymore.

    Over a month of 🚫 Drive Thru restaurants!

    February 28: 138 sort of surprised considering more early Easter chocolate treats here lately. 😬

    Wasn't perfectly successful at only eating foods that were available in early Europe..tomatoes and bell peppers were most difficult to avoid!

    I pretty much maintained 138-140 which I feel good about although I'd rather it be more 135-137..just a few pounds more to go. Good luck to everyone in April! 🪻

    Hello I'm Darlene, retired, 64-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I started my journey in January 2023, and over the last two year have lost almost 90 pounds. I got to my goal weight in the last quarter of 2024, and now tackling the maintenance phase. There aren't too many maintenance threads on MFP, so hope you don't mind I hop on this thread for this part of my journey. I have been a member of a daily accountability group that really helped me, but would love to transition into a weekly one. I'm working on a buffer to make it so I never hit overweight again, but will be happy just to stay in the ideal BMI range the rest of my life. I'll weigh in on Wednesday, we'll see how that goes!

Hope to stay within my five pound maintenance range - but ideally my goal is to stay under my goal weight (140). Will have a couple challenging food days, but most of the time will just be Greg and I, so should be ok - the biggest obstacle will be the lack of exercise time and the salt in the restaurant food. I'll do my best.
    • 🍀March 13: 139 🥅 👣🚶‍♀️🫀⌚I was away on vacation and did not log every day while I was there, so missed a few goals. I am happy with the number though, was scared that I was going to go over my 140 goal. I got my walking and cardio exercise done, but missed the strength and stretch goals.
    • 🍀March 19: 137.6 🥅 👣 📝🥗 🚶‍♀️🫀🏋️‍♀️⌚ All goals met! Was a good week for me, coming back from vacation I got right back to it and was on plan most of the week. Had my pre-physical yesterday, doctor is very happy with the weight I am now. I was thinking another five pounds, but she said no. She'd rather see me at the top of the BMI range instead of lower at my age. I had blood drawn for lab testing - I am very interested to see how my cholesterol is. It has been high for as long as I can remember - coming down with the weight loss, but still over the range. I'm hoping to see a normal result this time.
